Returns at Costco can be hectic. The lines are usually long, which can be a good thing representing their ease of returns. However, their system may need to be updated. Recently had a return which didn't go smoothly. I presented my membership card and receipt to the representative, E. I had purchased two of the same item 6 weeks apart. I was intending to return the purchase from 6 weeks ago by presenting my receipt. E stated that the system was running slow and proceeded to do a manual return, which took some time. By doing so, she returned the recent purchase, which had a lower purchase price and lower tax rate (purchased in a different state). That was the whole reason I wanted to return the original purchase. E proceeded to re-sell my item to me at the correct sale price, but at a higher tax rate! While attempting to return the correct item, there were complications which involved a manager and time. All together I spent close to 30 minutes trying to return one item. Shouldn't be that way. At this point, not going to bother going back to discuss the tax difference. It was over .5%, which amounted to about $1. Sure wish the experience was better. Keep on Yelp'n! read more

Came here to simply get a pizza for dinner. I called to see if I could place an order over the phone however I was told that I had to order at least five for an over the phone order. When we arrived the line was insanely long. My husband went to order the pizza at a kiosk and I stood in the magic mountain line. It took about 25 minutes to get to the front however my pizza wasn't ready. In fact, the workers kept coming out while I was in line providing those who ordered a pepperoni pizza their pizzas. I had to wait probably an additional 15 minutes before my pizza was ready. The system that they have in place is insane and horrible. Everyone in line was complaining. There was a guy in front of me who ordered hot dogs and pizza and they wouldn't give him his hot dogs. He was told he had to wait and get his hot dogs with his pizza. Crazy because other folks received their food while waiting for their pizza. Please do better Costco. It's an absolute nightmare because it's just bumper to bumper carts. The self check out line goes down through an isle then wraps around the pharmacy isles if it's really busy. If you need to use the restroom it's the absolute worst when trying to get there. You have to go through check out lines and people are not very willing to let you get by them for fear of you trying to cut the line. I'm still not sure why Costco is so much more busier than Sam's Club. The only reason I go to Costco is because it's closer than Sam's Club and at the price of gas, I try not to drive farther than I have to. I heard a few people complaining about the crowds and how the lines are out of control. I feel that Costco could do a better job at filtering people through lines without the confusion of how to get to the concession stand to grab a bit to eat. It's just absolute madness. When you go to Costco, you know it's going to be busy. I really love this, Murrieta location. There's always deals around every corner. They somewhat recently moved cases of beer over to where the rest of the alcohol is. The parking lot gets quite crowded, but it's huge & I've always found a spot. Just sometimes, I gotta walk a little further. The staff is fine. It's not like they are Trader Joe's level of friendliness, but they are content. The staff that works the self-check-out are very efficient and helpful. Kudos to them! And they are also efficient in the food court which is always busy. Great job Murrieta Costco!! I love coming to this Costco not only because it's so close to my house but because the service is phenomenal. Unfortunately today I didn't have a good experience. I went to Costco and saw some shoes for a really good price. I picked them up and I was examining them until a worker took them out of my hand and said they were hers, she put them on a cart and covered them with other clothes and she said that cart was hers. I thought she was a customer until I saw her working, I didn't know they could save certain things for themselves. This is a very nice Costco. I shop here when I am visiting family in the area. It is clean and organized, and the staff is friendly. My family ordered 2 cakes for my grandpa's birthday party. A few months ago, I went to Costco with my emotional support dog, who is officially certified. At that time, my dog had injured his leg, so I put him in a dog stroller. When I tried to enter Costco, a female staff member at the entrance saw me and immediately stopped me. She said, "Dogs are not allowed inside. There is a lot of food in the store. Did you see the sign at the entrance? Your dog isn't a service dog, right?" I told her, "My dog is not dirty! He's in a stroller! He doesn't come into direct contact with any food! Also, it's hot outside I can't just leave him alone in the car. My dog is not a service dog, but he is a certified emotional support dog, and I have a note from my doctor. The note says, 'Please allow her emotional support dog to be with her at all times due to her anxiety.' Would you like to see the doctor's note as proof?" But she refused to listen to me at all and said, "I don't need to see the doctor's note. Your dog is in a stroller. A dog like that cannot be called a service dog. Is your dog walking with you?" I replied, "If you're worried about the dog touching food, isn't it safer for him to stay in the stroller? Besides, my dog hurt his leg, which is why he's in the stroller." Then she responded defiantly, "It doesn't matter whether your dog is an emotional support dog or not," and pointed to the "Service Dogs Only" sign at the entrance, saying, "Look!! And read!!" She completely refused to let us in and made us leave. Was she really telling me to leave my dog in a hot car? I am not that foolish! If I had left my dog in the car on a hot day and something happened to him, would that woman or Costco have taken responsibility? I remember her face clearly, but I was so angry that I forgot to ask for her name. At the Murrieta Costco, I have often seen customers shopping inside with dogs that are neither service dogs nor emotional support dogs. Every time I see that, her face comes to my mind, and I feel angry and frustrated all over again. I simply cannot understand why dogs without any certification or proof are easily allowed inside, while my dog who has proper documentation as an emotional support animal is denied entry. On the other hand, at the Temecula Costco, the staff welcomed my emotional support dog with smiles, and I was able to enjoy shopping comfortably. I am truly grateful to the Temecula Costco staff for being so kind and welcoming. The employees at the Murrieta Costco, on the whole, give off a cold and unfriendly impression. In contrast, the Temecula Costco employees are kind and polite. That's why, even though it's a bit farther away, I now prefer going to the Temecula Costco. Special shout out to Erin a.k.a. Clark Kent that works in the tire center. He came out when it was very cold and helped me because I was not doing the machine for tires properly. I will definitely be back in the next few months to get a new set of tires from them. They are always so helpful And I really appreciate just feeling safer knowing that they're checking the tires air even though I can do it at the pump it just sometimes makes me feel uncomfortable to do it or to not have it checked afterwards. Nice to have the option of 2 nearby Costco stores and Gas stations with very competitive pricing. They use Top Tier gasoline, which AAA endorses. You have an employee, ERIC who has been employed by Costco since 2002, I have no clue how he stuck around so long as every time we've had an interaction with him, it has been the most unpleasant and off putting experience. The way he speaks to you is condescending and extremely aggressive and as a woman, made me feel uncomfortable and unsafe. I will be filing a complaint with corporate on an issue we had with membership today, my husband and I were completely dumbfounded as grown adults being spoken down to the way he did. It was pretty well stocked although the item my friend specifically came for was out of stock. The food court is located inside, I don't think I would go there, too crowded. But when it's raining or 100 degrees outside, that would be a plus. Getting to this Costco is kind of tricky. I suggest following your GPS to turn into the parking lot. Oh, don't come when the nearby high school is getting out. There are some self checkouts and regular, with long lines as usual. Very organized and nicely stocked! They had a lot of new items and made sure to put them near the front. They had a decent selection of items and the floors were clean. Costco is known for their good value on wholesale items so the price is always fair compared to other retailers. The food court was inside and they also have self-service for ordering your own food. The food came out rather quickly and they call out your number when it's ready. This location also has a very large parking lot! Everything was very fast and efficient. Having doubts buying fruits and veggies from now on. Last week, we bought the pineapple and cut it right away. The fruit tasted funny, like it was not packaged and handled properly in storage or shipping. The outside skin was green and slightly orange. The inside looks like the pineapple went through the harsh weather and cooked under the sun and spoiled. Told the wife to return it, but she agreed that the drive back and time spent will cost more than the pineapple. Not saying this is Costco's fault, but there needs to a way to inspect their perishables better, like randomly cutting one to see what is going on when receiving from the supplier. Also, make sure the employees continue to ask if the customers need boxes at the register. Today, they did not ask and then damaged and crushed the veggies when loading into the cart. The staff is extremely rude at this Costco. It's definitely not like the other Costco's around the area. When I've asked an employee for assistance finding something they act like they're being inconvenienced. The last time I was there the guy putting the food in the cart stuck his finger through my meat wrapper into the meat then started yelling at me that I was really going to waste food because I didn't want the meat that had his finger in it. A right turn sends you directly out of the parking lot, a left turn is your better choice but it's a toss-up. We lost that first round! The parking lot is still under construction, so it gets a pass. Inside its running smooth, I'm sure just how the home office hopes it will. This Costco may be the biggest I've ever seen; it may also be the screwiest entrance/exit of any retail store I've ever seen, too. What were the Murrieta town planners thinking? A narrow, one lane road that curves 90 degrees in two places, which then leads you to the back of a parking lot that goes nowhere. Sort of a back entrance, maybe? And if you try door number two. Again a narrow lane that leads you to the gas pumps. If any emergency vehicles needed to get to the physical store entrance fast, even with Lights & Siren going, good luck! Okay, on the positive note... Lots of goodies inside and they have a huge inventory of different products to shop and compare. The wine area btw is huge. Lots of Cashiers and the lines seem shorter. The city of Murrieta welcomes Costco...the brand new one everyone in the I.E. has been waiting for, and apparently it had the largest sales on opening day in Costco U.S. history! I did not feel the need to stand in line for who knows how long to get the little shopping cart "souvenir" that was handed out on August 5, but to each, their own! I applaud you if you were there. Everything in here is the same as everywhere else. The only things I noticed that were different: **the sliced bread aisle is near the health/beauty section towards the front of the store, by the end cap with the flowers **the food court is indoors (for those who aren't aware, you need to have a membership in order to make a purchase, or bum off a friend or family member, lol) **the $40k bottle of Scotch, and others that ran $20k+, all locked up of course! Other than that, the layout is like every other Costco. Yes it's across the high school, so if you can, avoid the area when that bell rings! There's a ton of parking, complete with a row of EV chargers (although the last time I was there a few days ago, they didn't seem to be available just yet). Convenient location at the Clinton Keith exit right off the 215 freeway. Employees are knowledgeable and quick to get your transaction complete! read more

Straight dog water service here. Their wheel and tire department are full of clowns. Not sure why Costco allows Mickey Mouse workers to work here. Came in for my appointment at 12:30pm and got the car back at 3:30. You mean to tell me it takes these people almost 1hr to change each tire!? That's really something special. The moment I got my car back I knew something was wrong. It was this clown named Ray whose supposed to be a supervisor there that handled my vehicle. He said "everything good and ready to go" with a cocky tone since he's seen me eyeing them working while I was waiting there for 3hrs. Drove off and immediately felt the car was swerving and not able to keep a straight line motion going. As I got closer to my house I noticed that the two front tires were smoking and I decided to pullover. After inspecting I noticed that the inside walls of the tires were rubbing on the struts. Headed back to Costco and this guy Ray told me that it's because I changed the tire size of my car since it has aftermarket wheels. (even though I've had a wider tire previous to this service) We agreed to just change the two front tires sizes since the rears were ok, and that I'll just have to come back the next day to order the new ones. As I was about to leave I decided to check on the tires one more time and noticed that they PUT THE WRONG TIRES ON THE WRONG LOCATION!! My car is a RWD meaning it has a staggered setup. WIDER IS ALWAYS IN THE REAR AND SLIMMER TO THE FRONT. Even amateur kids who straight pipes their cars know that. So they put the 275/35/19 upfront and 255/40/19 in the rear. NO WONDER IT'S RUBBING! Who could've guessed that supervisor???!! What an absolute joke and this kid at the counter kept saying that it's not something new there and that it tends to happen more often than I know. Basically trying to downplay their mistake and not just own up to it. What I know is Y'all don't know wth you're doing. Sorted it out with the manager who kept on insisting she knows more about tire sizes than me which was hilarious. Filed an incident report with this jokestore and until now I am still waiting to get paid for the damages these clowns did to my car. I've talked to other people who worked at a tire shop where they "actually change tires without damaging it" and they said YOU HAVE TO BE REALLY LAZY IN ORDER TO SCRAPE UP PAINTS OF A RIM LIKE HOW THEY DID MINE. Came here for the first time since they changed hours for Executive and Gold Star members. Trying to park when you're a Gold Star Member is nonexistent. There's waiting lines all over the place and good luck if you're handicapped. This is the most ridiculous thing in the world. Keep your stores and your memberships. You're not worth it. People with Gold Star Membership were lined up outside. With 3 minutes to go, the woman at the door was turning people around and putting them outside because they weren't Executive. This behavior continued with her putting someone out with 1 minute to go. She was downright nasty about everything. Now at checkout they have someone scanning your card and purchases to make things faster. Once that's done you can move to any line to pay. The problem is that they also scan items from the person in front so it also gets added to your bill. THIS IS THEFT. I AM DONE WITH ANYTHING COSTCO. They have gone beyond downhill and the attitudes of the workers is disgusting. read more

We paid $4.69 at Costco but some fuel stations like CVX, Mobil were nearly $6. U had to really look for the fuel prices posted as u drive past in all that traffic. It's always clean, the parking is great, the staff is amazing, and you can't go wrong with the free samples and tons of stuff that you think you need. I don't know how much money I've gotten back from Costco over the years but it's more than paid for itself in the membership and memories we've made from pools, books, Lego sets, pokémon, lemonade to sell ($368 profit), etc. Not to mention they have some of the best wine selection and prices anywhere. Product selection seems to often be lacking at this location and it has remained overcrowded since day one. Customer service could be improved, there has never has seemed to be a friendly or customer-focused culture here compared to other Costco Locations. Pay attention to how staff will aggressively fail to yield to customers when walking or pushing a cart the next time to go in - when they a moving outside the normal traffic flow. To me, it comes off as a consistent distain for the customer and the company as the overall vibe from the staff. But it's Costco and close, I'll go when Sam's Club is too far for the trip. I also attempt to give as much of my business as possible to Grocery Outlet down the road where everything is the exact opposite. read more
