The most unfriendly and rude people seem to be handpicked to work at this Costco branch. No greeting, rough handling of merchandise at checkout, and just outright mean customer-facing employees everywhere you turn. So I just discovered that not all Costcos are the same. I mean, they basically are, but this one had a slight edge over my Costco in the 'burbs. I came with someone who has never been to a Costco and she was pretty happy with our haul. It was a hot summer day and the fact they have a parking garage was awesome. No hot car to return to! It was a little busier than my usual Costco. That might explain why inventory looked low or they just did not have the chance to replenish their stock. Had to take a star off for that. SAMPLE SATURDAYSSSS! Not sure if they have as many sample booths out on the other days but they do it big on Saturdays. Literally everywhere I turned had generous and delicious samples. It's definitely a bit difficult to get around the store on busier days though since everyone has giant carts and is scurrying around to try everything. This place has literally everything you could ever want, so it's a bit dangerous if you start grabbing bulk of everything. It really makes you think about what you actually want to eat and what you can finish within the next few weeks. If anything, I feel like Costco makes me eat healthier because I know I probably shouldn't buy a giant bag of chips or the 10-pack of croissants (ugh it was really tempting). When you buy tires, you are charged a flat fee for balancing and road hazard, and I've never had to use the hazard policy, until this week. I hit a curb and knocked a chunk out of a tire. I went to Costco and they right-away related that they would replace the tire. Oops...Michelin stopped manufacturing this model of tire, so Costco said they would upgrade me to a higher priced model, exact same size. BUT, then since the model number on the tire would be different, something nobody could see, they gave me an additional free tire so they would match! WOW!!! TRAVEL; Also, their travel service is top notch. I bought a Viking cruise from them and received a $600 Costco travel rebate card good on anything. Costco should not be in the business of tires. I had a notice in my car to check one of the tire's pressure. I parked parallel to the tire center and a technician checked the pressure. He said it wasn't just a minor leak of air and to park my car and go to the sales desk for tires. First and foremost, the tire-only parking was full. People are not complying and Costco is not enforcing the parking area. I went to the sales desk and the staff person told me it would be 2.5 hrs. I felt it was excessive but thought it surely couldn't be that long. When I purchased my tires they told me the wait would be about two hours and they had my car ready quicker than that. So I felt that surely, they would give it back to me in less than 2.5 hours. I was already there so I might as well let them take care of the tire. So I left my keys and went about my shopping at Costco. Three hours had passed and my car wasn't ready. I told the tire sales man to call the manager. I told him that Costco shouldn't be in the business of tires and that I wanted my car. My car had just been pulled up into the service area, apparently. The manager told me to follow him and that my car had been pulled out. With the flashlight he showed me where a screw is on the tire. He said the leak would be slow. He did apologize. He should have said, "Why don't you let us service it?" Or, "Come back tomorrow at such and such time and we'll take you right away." If they're not going to expand their service area and hire more tire technicians, then they shouldn't be in the tire business. The wait was unacceptable. read more

I received a free membership here because my firm has the business kind of membership and abracadabra, suddenly I get to buy things in bulk too so I can keep up with the Joneses over yonder. Don't fear, just consume to uphold the economy? Besides the film Idiocracy I did not have any experience with a Costco before this free membership thing fell into lap. There are a ton of Negative Nancy negatives about shopping here, but I do like buying Dr Pepper 36 at a time for $7.50, fam. The parking lot is a very busy, huge, mess. The soccer moms are blowing through the stop signs and cutting people off waiting for parking spots even with blinkers on. You take your life into your hands walking through the parking lot to get in the store, but you are slightly better protected coming out since you have the big huge shopping cart to absorb some of the impact when some white lady (let's imagine her name is, I don't know, Muffy) is texting while driving, not paying attention, and has probably just had a few glasses of white wine at Tiny Boxwood around the corner to take the edge off. The check in process is relatively simple since you flash your card at the guard, but getting out of the store is a higher security process than the federal government buildings I have worked in over the years. The cashiers leave a lot to be desired. There's a line between sass (totes me) and rude and one cashier lady was so rude she managed to piss off me and the unrelated customer behind me in line with how she was acting. A little niceness goes a long way; or just not being a complete dick of a cashier to your customers is probably even easier than trying to act like a jerk. The really rude one in particular had tons of visible tattoos on her arms so I was trying really hard not to judge her, but she made it too easy to get all judgey master 5000 on her. The cashier needs to see your card and they hold it until the transaction is over. If you are buying alcohol, as a thirtysomething man with a beard, they scrutinize your DL like it's obviously a fake since you must be about 10 years and really two tiny children with one standing on the other's shoulders. Then you get all your shit and need to box it up yourself over at the "lost children" garbage pail of free boxes for you to take if you need. Then at the front of the store you need to show your card, they review your receipt, poke through your shopping cart to make sure you didn't steal nothing. This seems unnecessarily ludicrous and I won't send my daughter here for law school, unlike how Frito's dad was all too happy to send his son to the Costco for law school in the distant future. Not this family. I like some of the deals like 36 cans of Dr Pepper. But this is not a place for a casual, chill, Type B kind of person. I would rather order stuff online through the amazon for approximately the same prices as what I saw in store (besides the deal on $23 for the 24 pack of the Magic Hat sampler) or send my assistant next time to haul back my industrial pallets of Dr Pepper (for regular drinking) and verification cans (in anticipation of Fallout 4's upcoming release date) to the office. read more

This is the Costco I frequent the most. I save money coming here just buying my home and hygiene products and fueling up here. The ya spruces are always competitive at Costco. I was able to add my sister to my membership which is great because she has a family and if I can help her save money it's a small gesture compared to how she helps me out from time to time. Even if I'm not purchasing I always check out the coffee, dish ware, and electronics. Then I peruse the book aisles. I really appreciate coming to businesses that are so customer oriented. This Costco is very similar to most other Costco locations. Extremely large parking lot with larger than average parking spots. However, you will still see many people unable to park in the lines. There is someone to greet you at the door and check and confirm that you have an active membership. This is standard. The store is well lit and usually has most of the products that I need without them being sold out. Every Costco layout and orientation is different, so you will become accustomed to the location that you are used to going. Overall a great store with great customer service. They have a food court and bakery. Gas station has medium to short lines at night on the weekdays. Pretty long gas lines during the daytime. Samples are back in the store during the morning and earlier hours of the afternoon. read more

Everybody says that Costco is so much better than Sam's, but I don't see the difference. Maybe I'm just not a wholesale shopper like that. I don't know, but I like both places. Here the parking isn't all that great on the weekends though. A few weeks ago my mom and I decided to get a membership. The girl was really nice and was very informative, which was great. They had this thing that you could get a 14 month executive membership if you get an American Express. So we did that. Now with the executive membership you get 2% cash back, but the membership price is is like 110 a year I think, and the regular is 55 with no cash back at the end of the year. But if you don't spend a lot of money here, I don't think its all that worth it. Since we've gotten our membership here I've been back maybe 3 times to get get Christmas gifts and such. I'm sure I'll renew the membership, just probably boost down to the regular. read more

Their store-brand items are also top notch. Food court - pizza is a great deal at $9.99 for an 18" pizza, but sadly they stopped selling combo pizza (aka supreme) Tire center - they have good deals on tires, but I've often had to wait at the counter for 10-15 minutes before someone offers me help. I walked to the returns counter to ask for help, but they just sent me back to the tire counter and told me to stand in front of the camera until someone saw me. Also, they need to figure out how to expedite a flat tire repair. I ran over a nail this morning, so I brought my car to Costco since they do free tire repairs. The wait ended up being 1 1/2 hours. I would have been better off going to a nearby tire shop and paid $8 for a 5 minute repair. read more

Everytime I come, there's no way I can fight the urge to drop by the food court. $1.50 for 3 scoops of gelato in a waffle cone...or $1.50 polish dog with a fountain drink...are you kidding me?? Their seafood and meats are super fresh too - love their ahi tuna steaks - so, so good with just a little olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic, and lemon. For wine drinkers, they have a nice selection of affordable wines as well. The AmEx Costco card is a winner too...2% cash back on travel expenses. Perfect for you regular travelers/consultants. I used to charge all of my rental cars, hotels, and airplane tickets on this thing. One year I cashed out over $800! Racist maybe? I am a minority. I pulled up to get my tire pressure corrected. I saw two guys in the shop saw me and went on their way. Then I thought they stop serving customers who need air for their tires. So I came up to one guy and ask if I can get some help and one guy said you can do it yourself. So I did. Then I parked my car went inside Costco trying to shop for something. When I left I saw both of those shop guys helping two cars fixing the tire pressure. Yes the customers are Caucasians. One of my favorite places to go on Sundays. Costco's omakase was on point today. Probably one of their best ones ever. Teriyaki and pineapple sausages And honey glazed ham as appetizers. Lemon pepper mahi mahi as the opening act. And for the triple threat main course, Sukhi's chicken tikka masala, coconut chicken curry, and chicken toasted coconut meatballs. For desert, a Ghirardelli milk chocolate caramel. The sausages was a little over cooked but had a nice sweet and tangy taste. The mahi mahi was very tender and flavorful. Now for the main event. Sukhi's is probably the best Indian food I ever had that I didn't have to pay for. Highly recommend it. The coconut chicken curry had a very nice creamy coconut taste to it. It was so good that I was almost tempted to buy the home frozen version. Fyi...if you want to take your food to-go and eat at home, they'll charge you a $12.99 fee and you will have to reheat it because it's frozen. The Ghirardelli chocolate caramel for dessert seems a bit cheap relative to the rest of the meal but I don't really have much of a sweet tooth anyway. Costco Sunday's omakase always leave me feeling stuffed and today was no different. The food is well worth it and I always feel like I'm getting more than what I paid for. Will be coming back. 6 out of 5 stars. Tip: If for some reason, you are still hungry, you can request seconds, thirds, and even fourth servings and they'll gladly give you more food WITH NO EXTRA CHARGE. Yes that's right.
