I purchased a Lenovo Slim 7 Pro X from Costco. Within the first year it needed manufacture service for a faulty motherboard. Then during the Costco Concierge Warranty the same problem reappeared. I attempted to file a claim. What a mess, it required 7 pictures of the laptop sent back to them in 7 individual emails. They indicated the pictures were not clear enough or shadowed so needed to do it all over again. Then again for a third time. In my opinion, Costco Concierge is intentionally making it hard for customers to file claims. I was unable to get the claim successfully approved because of the picture requirement. Durning that time Costco Concierge expired however the Allstate extended coverage kicked in. That only took one call and a shipping label arrived. So in short, service from the manufacturer warranty was easy and so was Allstate. Costco Concierge was a mess and I think it is by design. read more

Costco Concierge Service used to be good, like really really good. I haven't had need to use their services for several years. I've had to call a couple of times in the last month or two about a couple of computers I've recently bought from them. While the reps are pleasant enough, All they now do is try to refer you to the manufacturer's troubleshooting department. That's about it. Maybe if you don't know how to plug in your computer or where the on/off switch is, they might be able to help you with that. From what I've read and heard, they recently stopped addressing any issues that require tweaking the BIOS on the computer. I think they still have the 90 day return policy, so there is that, but the concierge services are now a joke. FWIW: All I needed is to figure out how to get the little 3.5 mm green audio plug on the back of my computer tower to have the signal so my speakers can use it. (They work with the headphone jack in the front of the computer.) At this point I have nearly 3 hours on the phone logged in and have no answer yet. It saddens me to see that this once wonderful service has turned into a joke. read more

Do NOT buy a computer from Costo. I bought a Dell laptop last year with the Microsoft package. It worked for the first three months, but only if I entered the 54-digit bit lock key every time I logged in. After about three months, I could not get in at all, just re-entering the bit lock key over and over. I called Costco and they said it had to be a software issue and to call Microsoft. Microsoft has no support call number, only a chat and when you state your issue, you get sent a link for Frequently asked questions". After not having a working laptop for almost a year, I took it to a local computer repair center that is very well known. They told me I had a failing physical drive and they could repair it and it would work perfect for around $270.00, but stated that I should check to see if under warranty. I called Costco again; they could not find my model or serial number (only purchased on laptop from them and had past calls in for same issue). They told me I had to go pick up my computer and then they would trouble shoot with me. I told them it was sitting at a repair shop and it is a paperweight - I can't even log in. Then Costco said that I would have to ship it to them - none of this was offered to me in the first round of issues. I am not paying the shipping costs for them to try to figure it out. I authorized my local shop to do the repairs. I will never again buy laptop from Costco again and truly hope others do not. They pass you around to many people, and do not offer solutions. I asked if I could get a write-up from the repair store and if Costco could tell me if it was a covered issue and they would not accept that either. Stay away!!!!!!!! read more

And if it was a few weeks to be repaired, at least I would know I was in the Que. But Since my claim, Costco has done nothing. There is nothing concierge about this. Over a year I bought both a fridge and stove through Costco - both ended up with warranty claims. I will summarize that Costco has zero communication with the mfg - so expect to wait 1-9 mos for any repair and then Costco tells you "we dont have an escalation process" so you will end up calling the mfg yourself. Then you find out if you did not have the Costco 2 yr warranty GE has an express service they would fix your appliance within 48 hours but because I am under Costco warranty it's 3 weeks in and nobody even ordered the part yet! I should have paid a bit more and bought it at a real appliance store I would have a lot less hassle in the repairs and more Options. Costco needs to get their act together - they have zero communication system with the mfg don't even tell them what the issue is. The past couple months I have bought both a laptop and TV and have called technical support on each. The reps are untrained and unable to resolve issues. What a joke! You find better advice by doing a Google Search. Looks like the Sony Bravia I got today may have power issues, gets caught in loop booting. Hopefully the replacement they send me will work properly! Regarding Lenovo laptop, they were not able to answer basic questions and referred me to Microsoft support. Microsoft just sends you to the support pages. Is there a human somewhere that can help???? I purchased a HP Envy laptop back in late 2022 from Costco. I decided to spend a little more for from Costco because they offered an additional year of warranty coverage , as opposed to buying from a retailer and only getting one year of warranty. I noticed a few months back that the battery was draining quicker and quicker, so I called and dealt with multiple people from the warranty and claims department at Costco. We initially did some software trouble shooting which was unsuccessful and was told to take multiple pictures of the laptop for damage. I sent it in and followed up a few weeks later and they told me that the picture came in and looked fine and they were to send me information on how to send the company to replace the battery. They didn't reply for a month until I called them and they told me they denied my claim due to a small area on one corner of the laptop with a tiny amount of the exterior color rubbed off. There was absolutely no damage, no dent to the computer and was barely noticeable. Again, the previous person I dealt with told me that it qualified for repair. It's very clear this issue would have not have impacted the battery issue in any way shape or form. I will never buy something at Costco because they give you an additional year on some electronics. Apparently, a warranty is only as good as the company that is willing to stand by it, and it certainly isn't Costco. If you can get better price on electronics from someone else get it elsewhere. Bought a laptop in Florida and had a complete failure when I was in Canada. Costco Concierge is supposed to honour their 2 year warranty in this situation. I spent 3 hours on the phone being told by Costco Canada to call Costco U.S., then sent back to Canada. A total of 7 phone calls with no resolution as to who to contact. Finally the Canadian Costco said someone would contact me within 3 days. Three days later I received a blunt e-mail stating I should remove my data and send it to them. Rather difficult to remove data when computer does not turn on and no place to send it was offered which was the original request. Costco Concierge has no idea how to honour their promise to repair product purchased in another country as they cannot locate a product number for a U.S. sale in Canada. My Dell XPS laptop had a small coffee spill and the power button got stuck. I sent to Costco and they said that they cannot fix it because they found a spill. I took it to a local shop and they cleaned the coffee from the key and it works fine since then. After 1 month, I saw a dead stripe in the touchscreen; cannot be seen but does not respond to touch. O called Costco Concierge and they said that they cannot help me because there is history of spill in my laptop, even though this issue is unrelated. I got the blue screen of death on my All In One HP I bought at Costco after 16 months. It was under warranty but they would not honor as they insisted it was dropped or something. None of that happened and I hired a technician that said it was a hard drive issue and the hard drive was the issue, not a "drop." I explained to Costco that each time they made me go turn it on and off it continued to get worse and get lines inside the screen. It appears cracked in the photos, but it is not cracked. I purchased four appliances in November 2022: two 4-door fridges, one microwave, and one gas range. Unfortunately, the microwave was heavily dented, causing significant inconvenience as it took about a month to replace. This inconvenience was about more than just the time it took to replace; it was also about the disruption to our daily routine. I suspect the gas range may also have been damaged, as the technicians installed it without showing us any potential issues. Despite this, we reached out to Samsung for assistance with two issues. 1. The front two burners, when dimmed, flicker and turn off. 2. The side portion of the front panel has a crack, which I firmly believe was damaged initially or damaged by the technicians while installing, which became apparent over time. The entire range is scratch-free other than this. Our frustration peaked when Samsung stalled the matter until the unit went out of warranty. Then, we were asked to contact Costco. Upon contacting Costco, we were again redirected to Samsung, who was trying to escape and called it physical damage. Samsung just sent a technician once and claimed that they sent it twice. The technician agreed that the appliance was under warranty and would be repaired without charge but later denied it. This back-and-forth has been incredibly frustrating and time-consuming. Samsung agreed that the first issue should be resolved but said we are out of warranty and should contact Costco. Upon contacting Costco and getting redirected to Samsung, they made false acquisitions. The entire front panel is damaged, and if we want to get it repaired, the warranty is voided, so we are responsible for the cost. I had heard these things but never could agree that Costco would have such bad customer service. I am sure Costco is stalling the matter this time until it goes out of warranty so that they can escape scot-free. This experience left us profoundly disappointed and made us question the quality of service we can expect from Samsung and Costco. I have been a Costco member since 1988 - while everyone was at Price Club, I was at Costco. Their warranty on the laptop I purchased is literally the worse I have ever experienced. The hinge on the Samsung laptop broke shortly after one year. It did not affect the laptop operationally - I simply could not close the laptop. There was not one scratch on the computer. Costco asked for photos to examine whether it was from my mishandling. They searched for scratches, broken screen or just about anything that could exclude my computer from warranty, none of which they found. They took two months to respond to my claim with a big, fat NO. Without any reason. They told me to go to Samsung to fix it for a $400 fee. I continued to use the laptop, with a taped hinge. The keys began to stick and the track pad malfunctioned so I called Costco again and they refused to service my laptop any longer (under warranty still) because they claim that they cannot prove that my current issues were not due to the hinge, which is rediculous. The hinge is a piece of plastic that is cracked, nothing else. So, they basically said that because I had reported a problem that they do not service, that they will no longer honor the warranty for the problems that they do warranty!? The warranty is now useless on a $1500 laptop that is less than two years old. What a joke! Shame on Costco and Samsung. Never again! read more

I would give this zero stars if I could. Bought a Dell touchscreen laptop on line via Costco website. Laptop failed. Spent hours on hold waiting to talk to someone each time I called. Average wait time was 1 1/2 hours. As others state you hear the same recording every 5-10 minutes that they are experiencing a high number of callers and that the wait time will be 5/10 minutes (I've heard the recording state "5 to 10 minutes" as well as "10 minutes"). This recording repeats and repeats. Numerous times I've given up and hung up. The times I talked to a custumer service agent they were all kind and wanted to help. Unfortunately the technical knowledge is not the same depending which agent you talk to. Eventually I was 'transferred' to Dell for their support after holding 30 minutes for the transfer (this is after 1 1/2 hour on hold waiting to talk to someone and then another 45 minutes of talking and holding with the agent). Dell Service? What a joke. In under 3 minutes the agent with a thick accent informed me that this was a software problem and he would transfer me to a fee line where I could get help by paying for it. Yikes. I decided to take the lap top to the warehouse in Concord and was told I needed to get Concierge Services to approve it. Ugh. I'm on my second call waiting. Yesterday gave up after an hour. I'm not sure what the point of the concierge service is other than to frustrate customers in hopes they go away. read more

Heed the other reviews because they are right! This outfit is a total scam!!! "Costco Concierge Service" is more like waste hours of your valuable time on hold, followed by a lot of reading of unhelpful information and insisting on pictures. My HP laptop has a broken hinge. My husband's identical HP laptop he bought at Costco 6 months before mine had the same exact problem, and HP replaced the laptop. So after two hours on the phone with Costco Concierge over two days, and sending them lots of pictures, I was told the damage was found to be legitimate, but I couldn't have the box delivered to one house and the computer returned to our new address. Not wanting to risk my $600 laptop being stolen off the porch of our old house, I asked the agent to keep the case open for when we moved. So after we moved, I called back (long time on hold while being told the wait is 5-10 minutes, then over 10 minutes, and do I want an agent to call me back. Just don't do it! They will never call you back!). I spent two hours on the phone with a new agent who told me the original case had been closed (despite my specific request), and I had to start all over and send still more pictures, because by now, the damage has gotten worse while I waited to follow all their Byzantine procedures to get my laptop fixed. Not only is the hinge more broken, now the keys have started falling off. So after two hours with the new guy starting all over with a new case, he tells me they will take a couple of days to review the new pictures. A WEEK later, I get the second email from guy #2 on case #2 where they make you call back and wait on hold YET AGAIN. So today I called thinking they would finally send me that freaking BOX I've been waiting months for. I was on hold for 40 minutes before an entirely new agent said that because the keys had fallen off, it voided my warranty. What?! After a fruitless argument with her about the ridiculousness of that statement, I asked to be escalated, and the second person just told me the same as the first. And they told me it was guy #2 (Javier) who made the decision that the warranty was voided. When I pointed out that if that were a legitimate rule, Javier would have known about it and not wasted my time asking for 16 different pictures from every angle which, by the way, CAUSED MORE DAMAGE to my laptop hinge. So after wasting another two hours I will never get back, and speaking with 3 different Concierge agents, one of whom claimed to be the "supervisor," they finally escalated me to their "warranty department" and I should hear back in a couple of days. Not holding my breath. I even called regular Costco Customer Service to try and get help. She was the one bright spot in this sordid tale--shout out to Kim! She called Costco Concierge with me on the phone. She stayed on the line and heard the whole useless final exchange with the useless, worthless, no service Concierge Service. I have been a Costco customer for many years, and we have spent a lot of our money in Costco over the years. I used to think Costco meant quality and service. I have been a Costco member for over 30 years. I purchase Costco laptops, printers and other "technology" products for what used to be exceptional Costco Concierge service. Costco Concierge Service is included for the lifetime of the product. At times, I have paid MORE for a product from Costco than available from other suppliers just to get Costco Concierge Service. That service used to be excellent, but, of late it is dreadful. Today, (4/1/2003) after a Windows 11 update, I was no longer able to see the OneDrive app in File Explorer. The solutions offered by a Google search for this problem did not solve it. Finally, at 10:08 this morning, I placed a call to Costco Concierge Service. The first person to answer my call made me go through a rebooting process that entailed powering down my computer, unplugging it and then holding the power button for EXACTLY 60 seconds. She then instructed me to reboot my computer. None of that fixed the problem. Then, the tech indicated that it is possible that Windows 11 no longer supports access to OneDrive app through File Explorer. This response was infuriating to me, as it did not seem at all plausible. She then said she would do some research and put me on hold. After a few minutes on hold, she hung up on me. That first call lasted over 12 minutes. The second call was answered by Devin. I had indicated to Devin that I was disconnected with the previous technician. I asked him if he had any record of my case, and he indicated that there was no record of my previous call. This was at the 4-minute mark with my call to Devin, and I was once again "disconnected." My third attempt was answered by Zquoya. She helped me walk though possible ways to add OneDrive to File Explorer. However, after her efforts, it appears that the problem was still not solved. I asked her if someone could share my screen to assist me in resolving this issue. Zquoya stated that all she could do was request someone call me back to do that. I indicated that a callback would have to happen tomorrow; however, Zquoya communicated that the technicians call back on their own schedule, and that she could not promise someone would call me tomorrow. I asked to speak with a manager and was put on hold while Zquoya communicated with a manager named Sophie. Sophie was on a call with another disgruntled customer and promised to call me back in 30 minutes. The duration of the call with Zquoya was 35 minutes. I am now 15 minutes away from the manager's call. STAY AWAY FROM COSTCO on the purchase of technology products. Stick to toilet paper and dish detergent. Their promise of Costco Concierge Service for life is meaningless. In future I will purchase products from Best Buy or even Amazon (if I don't want any technical support whatsoever). With the savings I can realize on the price of the product, I will be able to purchase years of technical support. read more

There are many layers to this onion. I'll first say I've actually had good experiences with Costco Concierge. While they've been great on the phone, Costco is managing repairs through a shady insurance company (AllState - SquareTrade) and even worse reps from respective vendors. I hold Costco responsible for this. They should sell warranties in-house or find a new vendor. I have an LG TV that constantly experiences WiFi issues. After being on for a bit it will report "Wifi is turn off". It proceeds to ask you to turn WiFi back on but there is no option for this. A quick search of this model reveals issues with the WiFi module (separate of the mainboard inside) and the ribbon cable that's connected to it. Costco Concierge acknowledged the warranty coverage of my TV and handed me off to SquareTrade to facility the repair/replacement. The SquareTrade rep asked me about the issue. He claimed this was a software problem right from the start of the call, but offered to troubleshoot it. I happen to know the LG acknowledged a manufacture defect on this model and extended the warranty for 3 years to cover it. It is not a software issue. Check out Joe Z's post with a similar experience. After lengthy troubleshooting (never once checked the software version), the rep got LG on the phone. While doing this, he mistakenly unmuted himself. I said Hello but was not acknowledged. They were busy so I didn't try and interrupt again. The LG rep confirmed the hardware issue. She also acknowledge that this model would have been eligible for repair but I'm just outside the 3 year mark. Luckily I'm covered for 4 years (1 manufacture + 3 from SquareTrade) and this now falls on SquareTrade. This is where everything went down hill.... Despite the LG rep informing SquareTrade of the hardware issue, he insisted it was a software problem. He then mentioned that SquareTrade does not cover Software problems. The LG rep corrected him but the SquareTrade rep was insistent it was Software and would not be covered. "He'll just have to find someone locally to fix it". This is when I butted into the conversation for a second time. "So I told you it is a documented hardware issue, she's telling you its a hardware issue, but you're going to claim it's software so you don't have to cover the warranty?". He stuttered a bunch and then asked to put me on hold. When he came back, he was very polite. SquareTrade is now rushing out a repair kit and setup a time to have a technician come out to fix the TV. I caught this SqureTrade rep cooking up a blatant lie to get out of servicing the TV. LG told him he was wrong but he proceeded with the faulty software claim. I wonder how many people this has worked on as it's nearly impossible to argue to the contrary. Be careful with SquareTrade. If they're going to make a claim that puts you outside of their warranty, make them prove it. I got lucky on this. We'll see how the upcoming repairs go. read more

Over two hours on the phone trying to communicate with someone from a foreign country that I had a very hard time understanding going through useless diagnostics . I used to think the Concierge service was a great add on and reason to buy electronics from Costco. I was wrong. First off, I don't think Costco sells good quality electronics which is why they tout this service. In 3 years I have had 3 PCs I bought from them die. These are used for internet, some office stuff and photos. None of these PCs have been my primary PC nor have they got extensive usage or ever left my home. My old work horse PC from BB lasted 9 years. These last maybe 9 months. First PC Concierge experience - had just set up PC and transferred files. In the middle of the first back up the hard drive crashes. I spent hours on my own troubleshooting and finally called Costco. Spent 2 hours repeating a lot of what I had done and was promised a call back. Did not come. Called again, same thing. And twice more. Finally escalated to the head of the Concierge group to get help. Finally admitted they had no idea and gave me my money back. Great, but lost all the unbacked up files, including 2000+ pictures from my Antarctica trip. Second PC - mouse issue. The built in mouse routinely would go crazy across the screen, then disappear. Multiple calls, every one was roll back the driver and reboot. It would work for a few hours, then start again. Finally called for the umpteenth time and told them to look at the history. They agreed it was a hardware issue and not even worth repairing. Got refunded but at least I had not wasted time putting files on this PC! Was only for internet. Third PC - The wifi disappears at least once a month. Given the history with Concierge I have spent hours on my own on drivers, BIOS settings, registry updates etc. to fix. I have had to call twice. The first time the lady was great, and I took notes so I could repeat steps on my own. I ended up having to reinstall the OS in Jan because this kept happening. Did not fix. Called again today because I could not resolve, again. The agent, Raven, was horrible. I finally spoke to a manager, James, who told me to run the BIOS test (already done, shows no issues) and to reinstall the OS (again, already done two months ago). Still under warranty and a piece of junk. Concierge will continue to tell me to reinstall the OS until the warranty is expired in May 2022. TV - died in less than a year. The Concierge kept telling me to unplug and call back. This happened three times. I finally went to the store and told them the issue. Electronics purchased at BB, Walmart, Target, Mike's Camera and Amazon have lasted 10 years or more. The service that Costco touts is not worth the headache and, at the end of the day, is not worth the time. read more

I bought a 77" Sony OLED at Costco around 18 months ago, and unfortunately, the TV just stopped working one morning. The Sony warranty is for one year, but year two of the warranty is covered by the Costco Concierge Service. I contacted them with low expectations given all of the terrible reviews, but my experience was top notch. I had no problems contacting them, and they were great with follow on communications. They let me know when they ordered parts, and then scheduled an appointment to fix the TV. The TV died on April 2nd and was fixed on April 14th. It was fixed in under two weeks. I'm happy with that, and very happy with the customer service I received throughout. Based on my experience, I highly recommend the Costco Concierge Service. read more

Purchased a Surface Pro 7 bundle (tablet+keyboard+pen) in March 2020. Touchpad gradually started going bad - sluggish response, not working at all, clicks sometimes not responding, etc. - CLEARLY a hardware issue. Jumped through all the hoops with Costco technician- hard reset, uninstall/reinstall/update driver, etc. Microsoft **AGREED** that it is a hardware problem (software/firmware seldom if ever fails gradually...). Finally today the touchpad stopped working entirely. Having jumped through all the steps, Costco Concierge now wanted me to do a FACTORY RESET on the tablet. That of course means backing up all the data (easy) and then of course reinstalling ALL the programs (non-trivial, long hours). I can just imagine them saying that, when that doesn't work, hire a witch doctor t do a chant. I mean, the keyboard is a detachable item. Would you do a factory reset for a bad mouse?? A bad USB drive?? I don't think so. We've been Costco members for 20 years, but I will purchase an $80 replacement from Amazon and get a membership at Sam's Club. Absolutely awful!! I cannot believe this is associated with Costco. I have never had any problems with this company aside from this. So disappointing. i bought a TV, bought the extra warranty.. the TV stopped working. I tried to return it, they said they have to go through this concierge process now.. ok. i call, troubleshoot, doesn't work. they say they are going to send a tech out, nothing. i call back to see what's going on, it was "entered in wrong" they fixed it/someone will contact me. several days later a tech called to schedule, he wants to come 8-9pm at night or i'll have to wait another week to see if he has time then.. REALLY?? so i tell him to come then, even though it's a totally inappropriate time to schedule a tech appointment. He replaced the 3 parts he was sent, it worked for about 10 minutes, and stopped again. he tells me to call concierge and let them know what happened, because he already made his report that it worked. ok... i let them know, and for the next week and a half now, they keep telling me they're waiting for IT to respond about the report. I am a month into this now, the broken TV has not been replaced, their customer service is a joke. they say "by the end of the day" or "24-48 hours", just keep waiting. All the while treating you snuggly, like you're some jerk who did something wrong and you should be honored that they would even speak to you.. you should just be sitting in your corner quietly waiting for NO ONE to get back to you about your claim. This service is a joke. At this point I don't think there is any intention to replace the broken TV. I think they're just instructed to keep telling you to wait, until you get fed up and just go buy another TV out of pocket. I've even asked to speak to a manager, etc. they say "why don't you just hold, and i'll see if there's anyone who will talk to you", of course no one is coming.. you just wait on hold.. read more

Costco concierge service is useless. I called almost an hour on many days and can't find a person to solve the real problem. Their dryer costs $1000 is broken within one year but hard to find a person to help with the warranty and replacement. Best way to treat a vendor like Costco (which becomes very arrogant nowadays as I should say.. maybe because their employees are paid so high), as their concierge & customer service is so bad, is to RETURN AND GET YOUR REFUND!!! read more
