My laptop had broken at the hinges or so I thought, I brought it in and they told me it was the backplate that needed to be replaced not the hinges and proceeded to get it dont fairly quick and well for a reasonable price. A couple weeks later I was having further issues with the computer not related to the first ones and they had it fixed in a day again for a reasonable price. I have come to this place twice with a dead computer. The first time, the computer didn't boot up. I called them and they gave me a few things to try to get the computer working, but I couldn't get it working. I dropped it in for a diagnostic and they opened it up and dusted off the fan and then it started working. -- no charge I came again with a computer that was dead after a big wind storm and power outage. They plugged into another power supply hoping this was the problem, but no luck and it seemed to be something related to the mother board. Not worth fixing, so they pulled out hard drive and gave it to me, let me back up some key files on a USB stick, and recycled the bad computer (less hard drive). I told them that they helped me a lot and I should pay them, but again -- no charge. Both times I have come here, I feel they focus on solving the problem and not selling anything to me. read more

After being recommended by a friend, we dropped off our desktop and lap top. The desktop took multiple tries to fix. Each time they replaced something and said it was fine. We'd get it home and it wouldn't work. Take it back only to be told something else had to be replaced. This happened 3 or 4 times. Even if the other parts needed to be replaced, why didn't they know that to begin with? Why did it take so many tries to fix our laptop? My laptop was infected with a virus. They removed the virus, but the computer seemed to still lag. We recently moved to Wichita, KS. I dropped off my laptop at a mom and pop computer repair shop. No it's running almost as good as when it was brand new. The shop guys even laughed and said, "I'd think living near Seattle, you'd have awesome computer repair guys!" read more

Love the fact that this place is open Sundays. I dropped off my desktop PC on Saturday morning - it kept shutting off intermittently, so I was fairly certain my power supply was to blame. I spoke with Chris on the phone who told me they could install a new power supply and have my PC back to me within an hour or so. I was quoted approximately $49 for the part and $75 for the labor. When we got to the shop, my husband asked if they could upgrade my video card. We chose a new video card and agreed to the additional price for the card. Chris called later that day to let me know that they did not have that exact video card in stock, but that they would order it Monday and it would be a few days for them to get the video card and install it. This was fine with me, as I was still able to use my husband's PC and my laptop, so the wait was no big deal. They estimated that they could have my PC back to my by Thursday. They called Tuesday to let me know my PC was ready (yes - two days earlier than planned). When I got to the shop, the gentleman who worked on my PC explained that they were able to obtain a better video card from a different vendor at the same price they'd quoted me. I was charged $49.99 for the power supply and $45.00 for the labor, plus the price of the video card. Yes - that's less than originally quoted for the labor, which was great. They had also cleaned up my PC a little (dust blown out, etc.) and changed out my noisy fan, no charge. So far, so good...my computer is running more quietly, more smoothly, and the new video card works great! I would definitely use PCE again for any computer issues. read more

I was having a problem booting my computer in normal mode (but could boot in safe mode). Tried everything that I could do to fix the problem without success. Brought the computer to Chris at PCE Computing and he had it running again in less than 30 minutes. What a relief! And he didn't even charge me anything. Fantastic service! Honestly, I would not recommend this place. While the man we worked with was nice, communication was kind of up and down. They would certainly call back if they said they were going to, but several times, we had to call to get an update on what was going on rather than them calling us to update us. I can chalk this up to being busy, which is understandable, but it was still frustrating. The main issue was that after diagnosing the problem with the laptop we took in (the monitor was cutting out unless positioned just right), they ordered a part. When the part arrived, they attempted to replace it, but it didn't fix the problem. At that point, basically, they gave up and said they didn't know what was wrong or how to fix it. The thing was that it was obviously some sort of connection/wiring or obvious part issue. They had diagnosed the wrong part as being broken, which happens. I understand that. But the way they just instantly gave up was so frustrating; I would have expected them looking into it further to find out what was going on. We took our laptop elsewhere and the new team actually, you know, tested a few things. They quickly realized that it must be the entire display rather than simply the cable. We ordered a new display, it was replaced and lo and behold, the laptop was fixed. I can't understand why the PCE guys just instantly gave up instead of considering it might be the display, which was honestly the next logical choice. They had a laptop with a fairly straightforward problem for nearly two weeks and managed to incorrectly diagnose it, order the wrong part, then give up after the first try. It really did not give the impression of a professional place that knows what they're doing. I definitely won't be going there for future computer repairs. To their credit, they did not charge us for the part or the attempt to fix the laptop. They were friendly throughout the process as well. It would have been nice, though, if they had attempted further investigation and trouble shooting instead of effectively saying "Nope, can't fix it" and moving on. read more

I had heard good things about PCE but sadly they were terrible to work with. When the backlight on my computer went out I took it over to them and after a month and a half of them having it (I was calling to check in about once a week) they told me they couldn't fix it. When I went to pick it up by gave it back without the glass panel over the screen and then when I got home the LCD itself didn't work (it was working when I have it to them)! So after over 5 weeks with them my computer is now in worse condition than it was before they got their hands on it. I would not advice anyone to come here for the computer problems. read more
