If I were to win the lottery tomorrow and have access to unlimited funds for shopping I would shop at Costco every day. Similarly, if I were to win a game show where the grand prize would be to choose a store where I could shop for free for the rest of my life, I would choose Costco and I would shop there every day. Alas, I am at no risk of winning any such prizes so I am forced to spend my own money at Costco which limits my shopping adventures to once a week. When you review one Costco, I do believe you review them all. I loooooove Costco. Hands down favorite weekend activity. Seriously! The husband and I can spend 2 hours slowly walking up and down each aisle with our chins to the floor. I love it! Great prices, always top o' the line goods, samples, samples and more samples! I mean, where else can you buy a year supply of TP for $15? And who doesn't need a 5 gallon bucket of Mayo? And don't get me started on the $1.50 hot dog and soda I insist on inhaling before heading home... If I had any beef with the place it would be the lack of liquor. Went with my family to do some shopping. I was entering the location with my girlfriend separately from my parents who had the membership. I only had the Costco cash card, but I've had no issues entering at other locations. After trying to enter through the main entrance, I was directed to membership services, but as soon as I entered, Tim, the receipt checker, made it an issue to stop doing his job and bark at us to go through the entrance, which we were just redirected from. Not sure why receipt checker Tim wanted to make a huge scene and embarrass my girlfriend, but I guess that's what happens when you're unhappy with your job. read more

I've been to a good number of Costcos in a lot of different areas and though this one isn't the best, it's certainly done enough to be top tier. The good: . They have ample parking . there aren't carts left all over the place . they have the designated walking lane in the parking lot . Not extremely crowded like other Costcos can get . The employees are friendly and helpful enough (not above and beyond, but plenty good enough for working retail) . There are bountiful samples! More than the average Costco, I'd say . It's Costco, they offer a lot of hover quality stuff in huge quantities for cheap! The bad . They don't have the best selection. I've been able to find a better selection at other Costcos . For a Portland area store, I really thought they would have a bigger beer section and a better selection of craft brews Overall, hard to go wrong at Costco as long as you know what you should expect. read more

I love costco but this store is not keeping up. While the grocery section 8s fine the bathrooms are terrible every time I need to use them. Also the can recycling never works so the convince factor of going to costco is out the window. While the staff is friendly ...whipe sitting down to eat a snack on several occasions have witness manager types berating other employees. I had the worst pharmacy experience I can think of last week at this Costco. I get a generic version of ritalin, and only one type of generic works for me. I couldn't get it at my local pharmacy, and I was going to Costco anyway. I had a discussion with the intake clerk, explaining that I had to have that particular brand. She looked it up and said they had enough. She also took a copy of my insurance card. When I returned to get my prescription, they had charged the wrong insurance and it cost $51 instead of the $6 it should have cost. I was tired and the store was closing, and this b***h kept saying "maybe they have changed your plan." I knew that wasn't true but I needed to get home so I decided I could sort it out later. When I got home, I opened the bottle, and found 2 of the correct pills ON TOP of the cotton, and 58 of the wrong kind, the kind that doesn't work for me, under the cotton! Did they think I wouldn't notice? They straightened it all out when I went back, but geez! I had to make a whole new trip for that. It almost seems like they were being vindictive over my specific-generic request. I won't go back. read more

Costco is ALWAYS packed, and it's always hard to find a parking spot. I'm still not sure that you actually save any money by shopping here. If most people actually did the math they're not really saving any money by buying in "bulk". I have to go to Costco once a month for my job. Its a two person affair, each of us with a flatbed cart that we load up with enough toilet paper, paper towels, non-dairy creamer and other odds and ends to last about a month amongst 100 people. We usually go to the East Portland store, but this month circumstances led us to this quaint little Costco tucked away in the 'burbs. This is our new Costco! This store is noticeably quieter than others in the metro area. Folks are pleasanter, the checkout lines aren't nearly as long as the gritty city Costco, and in good traffic its only about five minutes farther. I usually curse the West 'Burbs and poke fun at my "bridge and tunnel" friends, but I feel like finding this Costco is like finding that killer Korean place in a strip mall. This one is our local Costco and we don't go here as often as we should. When we do though, we spend a lot of money stocking up on things. Currently my fridge is full of meat and ice cream. I also have a box of microwavable popcorn. I'm not a big popcorn eater so that's going to last for days. In any case, Costcos in general are very busy and packed so we went shopping in the morning. Even at an hour after opening in the middle of the week, the parking lot was packed and the store was packed but not as packed as during the weekends. Since it was Halloween, some of the employees were in costume. Waldo was our cashier and I think he was a jedi warrior, he caught a double charge on our receipt and we got our money back. Thank you!!! Like most people, we wouldn't have noticed until it was too late if we had looked at the receipt at all once we were home. Best thing about Costco beside the prices are the samples and when you're all done, do stop for a polish dog and soda ($1.50 for both, can't beat that!) or maybe a slice of pizza. read more

I can handle Costco if I run in and run out (sounds easier than it is) and get what I need. I will share my favorite items: Rotisserie Chicken, $4.99. Very Good. Large bottle of Soy Vey Teriyaki sauce... best teriyaki for sale anywhere. Giant tub of earthbound farms lettuce/baby spinach/half and half - usually less than $4.00, and with that giant container of greens in the frig, I'm bound to eat healthier. That's it. read more

This review is just of their tire department. Which seriously sucks. We go to get our tires replaced on our car. They tell us it'll be an hour. It ends up being two hours. We stuck around to wait because an hour didn't seem that long. If I knew it was gonna be two hours, I definitely would have left and came back. It turns out that the guy who told us it would be an hour didn't know what he was talking about, according to the second guy (Nick) that helped us out, who turned out to be really nice. Not cool. Also: when we asked for tire prices, they quoted us for the most expensive set of tires they had in stock. Thinking that it was their entire selection, we went for it. Later in the day, we stopped by Costco in Wilsonville, where we found out that we could have gotten a slightly different model of tires for $80 cheaper. Not cool. I love Costco, but I hate the guys in their tire department. They should have quoted us the right prices, and the right time. read more

I am a long time Costco customer and never been treated like this at Cost Aloha (#09), Oregon (15901 SW Jenkins Rd). I am not sure whether it is a frustrated and over-worked worker or something else triggered it. Nonetheless this kind of behavior is totally unacceptable and such employees should be reminded about basic rules of customer engagement. I had a full cart and towards the back of the cart was a flat packet (some LED wall fixture). I remember picking it up first thing after entering the store but later decided to put it back. Didn't get a chance, as the cart became full. Must admit - I forgot it was there in the cart after some time in the store. As I was unloading the cart at the checkout counter - realized I had forgotten to put the item back where I picked up from. So, I mentioned that apologetically to the person standing next to Danny (the counter attendant). She probably didn't even listen to what I was saying but said - "O - don't worry we will take care of it". Yet, the very next thing she did was to help Danny scan that item right from the cart. I realized she was mistaken and said "Excuse me - I was trying to say I forgot to place it back. I don't need it". This, apparently triggered something that I may never understand. This young lady (not Danny) suddenly became almost theatrical and exclaimed loudly saying - (I am trying to write it the way she enunciate the words....) "ooOOOooo - you didn't WAAant this?!!! (Pause to turn away with the item in her hand and turned back to face me as she continued) THAaank you for briNGing the item baaack to us rather dropping it on the floor". The sarcasm in her voice had stumped me and I was momentarily speechless as she walked off to drop the item in a cart - two counters away. I had to make myself go - pickup the item from where she left and proceeded to place it back in it's aisle location back in the store. As I was picking the item up from the cart, I heard her saying behind my back "ooOOOoo you want it back naaow?!" To which I calmly said "No - I am going to put it back where I picked it up from". I think she now realized that I was not happy - and exclaimed - "No no - you don't have to do that..." (no sarcasm this time). To that, I had to tell her "THAT was very rude" as I walked off and placed the item back to it's original location. I admit this was the first time I was treated with such disrespect at Costco. Yet, I cannot let this go unnoticed and had to report it. I resisted looking for the manager right at the store and complain - to avoid over-reacting. BTW: As I checked out I heard the young lady telling me "have a nice evening" to which I had replied "You too". I doubt any of us really meant it. read more

A friend gave me a Costco cash card (which allows cardholders to make purchases without having to buy a membership), so the Boyfriend and I ventured into the one located on SW Jenkins. At the door, we showed the cash card and informed the attendant we planned on making a membership but would like to have some lunch first. As we were waiting in line at the deli, an employee tapped on my boyfriend's shoulder, and told us we needed to make a membership before ordering food at the deli. So we had to explain (for the 2nd time) we had a Cash Card! After lunch at the Customer Service, we informed a floor manager what happened at the food court. In addition to apologizing for the "mishap", she tried to turn the situation into a sales opportunity by offering a small discount towards the most expensive membership. We literally had to say no for at least 4 times (no exaggerations here) since she kept coming up with one reason after another. Boy, I sure hope she didn't learn that sales pitch from a marketing class! read more

Really, there are only a few variables when it comes to a Costco experience. This location had a lot of open registers on a weekday evening. Had in stock all of the "fan favorites" that we like to keep in the house. The store wasn't overly busy, but we'll see how it goes on the weekend. And a pro tip- when youre leaving you can grab a huge hotdog and a soda and have dinner for 2 for $3 bucks. read more

Really like shopping at Costco in general but the Aloha location is sub par. They are often out of stock on popular sale items and have no back stock. They were out of stock on two sale items today but Hilsboro store had plenty. They are slow to clear carts from the parking lot and it is a hazard when they block pedestrians or traffic. Employees are fine throughout but maybe not enough staff on hand? I drive a little further to avoid this store. read more

Honestly, I love Costco but like everyone else I hate it because I always spend 2-3 times what I originally went in for. You can find mega-packs of cereal, vitamins, soda, socks, silverware, DVD's, cheese, and even buy a motorcycle or car. Just want to recognize an amazing employee at this warehouse! Jesse, "the retired old guy" as he called himself, was gathering carts in the parking lot and saw my coworker and I (two less-than-strong gals) struggling to load 4 flats of water into our work car. He came over and helped us load the water into the car. He didn't stop there, though. He loaded the rest of our purchases into the car and arranged them so they fit perfectly. Honestly, my co-worker and I were wondering how we were going to lift everything into the vehicle given that we weren't dressed for lifting and lugging. I love Costco. This is the one I've been to the most, so I can't fairly compare it to other Costco locations, but compared to other grocery and wholesale stores like Cash & Carry, Costco is by far the best. I don't take advantage of their extremely generous return policy like one of my friends does (its ridiculous, you'd think Costco would've banned him by now), but it is a very forgiving return policy. You purchase something and you can return it A YEAR LATER in whatever condition. Not sure if the policy goes further than a year.. but it's worth noting. I love going for samples lol! Try and go earlier in the day than later or you'll miss them. The employees are always cheerful and easy to talk, especially those at the sample stations. I wish they'd switch up their cakes at the bakery. Same carrot cake flavor AND design for the past 2 years (or more?) I was delighted to know they serve some organic foods and healthier alternatives! I guess I need to shop more thoroughly because I might have just not noticed it til now. Anyways, love Costco! Love the churro! I'll always have a membership if I can afford it! read more

Cons: It's nearly impossible to get a good parking spot, It's always crowded, they don't accept most credit cards - But these traits are synonymous with Costco Pros: Prices and Samples. And Churros. This review is about Costco on Jenkins Rd, Aloha. My favorite place and employees are the best. Today, we were told no more Senior Hrs. come April. So, I politely voiced my opinion and the manager told me to just shop on-line. How rude was he, it wasn't the suggestion it was his rude attitude and body language. I replied back, "I already shop on line and I spend a lot of money!" Wanted to add, "You idiot!" In fact, I do most of my shopping on-line, except for fresh produce, or for things that AREN'T on-line. Guess because I'm a younger Senior, he thinks I don't know how to use a computer. What a wanker! Oh, and then he said come at 7 or 8 pm, it's not so crowded. I should have replied, I don't go out after dark! Again, idiot! The worst customer service ever and he's a manager. Time for him to move on. The gal that was there even made a face at him. Is he a new manager? Seeing some negative reviews recently. I asked a couple of people and someone told me that Costco is getting rid of two days of early hours for Seniors due to payroll. That most employees like the early opening. Again, all about big corporation, and not the customer. Voice all your opinions directly to the manager, man, 5"6ish, balding or thinning dark hair, darker in complexion, and it's not a Karen issue. I worked at a Costco in California, and the nice thing about the Costcos in Oregon is that it is never crazy packed. You don't have to worry about driving around looking for parking, and you don't have to worry about bumping into someone with your shopping cart when you visit a Costco in Oregon. The printing service staff on the other had seem to be a little disorganized, out of the 4 times if I have been there and needed help, they have not been quick to come up to the counter and answer questions. I've been to Costco many times, but I've never reviewed this location. With Costco, you get what you expect. Sometimes, their prices are great, but sometimes you pay more than anywhere else. I have to be aware of what items usually cost. I really like their model, but the pricing can be a drawback. The other drawback is the horde of shoppers in there. And they drive like typical Oregonians. My biggest frustration going to Costco is that I'll have to deal with shoppers with large carts who don't pay attention to where they're going. I will say that a friend recommended I get my ribs there. Those ribs had more meat on them than just about any other ribs I've purchased. They came vacuum sealed, and were reasonably priced. I'll be continuing to slalom through the Costco carts in order to get my ribs there. read more

The pharmacy at the Costco on Jenkins road, is one of the worst pharmacies I have ever dealt with! Several of the staff are rude. They are poorly inserviced about medications and the fact that there are several meds you simply can't just stop taking. They were out of a med I use... they dont have an automated phone message to let you know this. Then after waiting in line for a long time, they tell me they're out, and when I asked them to transfer it to another Costco pharmacy, they said their software won't allow that.... and the tech said, "Well can't you just wait 24 hours for us to get it in?" !!! What? Really?!? The next time I went there, my prescription had been sent in 4 days prior, and the Prior-authorization had been sent in a week and a half earlier.. They Still didn't have it filled. No explanation. I was told to come back in 30 minutes... when I did... they still hadn't filled it! Made me wait 30 more minutes... and there was no line of people waiting? Awful service!! read more

DO NOT FILL YOUR PRESCRIPTIONS AT THIS PHARMACY!! They continually fail to fill prescriptions on time, sending older seniors away without their medications. They GIVE you generic forms of your prescription without telling you about the substitution, BUT they have more than 7 employees in the pharmacy. read more

I love this Costco. It is huge and the products I am looking for are always in stock! I always end up getting much more than I came for! The parking is an issue, not the best feature of this store to say the least. The staff is friendly, always willing to help. The rotisserie chickens are a great buy. Cheaper than other stores and bigger too! I love to get these and use them throughout the week! My only complaint (besides the parking) is that it is not closer to where I am! :) read more
