5/2/26 Logistically, this the closest Costco but it's not our go to if we could help it at all. Parking is a nightmare especially on weekends & peak times. Right now they're undergoing renovations so it's chaotic looking. Great selection of items, it's like all other locations, staff are helpful. I prefer the layout here because I'm used to having the entrance on the RIGHT & the EXIT on the left. Since it's still Los Angeles county, the sales tax here is more compared to the Inland Empire or Orange County. The prices overall are competitive to regular grocery stores but it's a warehouse so you may essentially shop for everything here-- if you have a big enough of everything to store it. read more

We have not been to this Costco in years, but can we say that it has gotten even worse? This warehouse is always busy, even right before closing. The quality of shoppers suck! I am writing this review in anger, having just experienced someone literally steal our cart full of groceries while we stepped into the refrigerated room for milk. We had already spent time so much time grabbing our essentials, only to have basically wasted all that time and effort. Respectfully, what kind of crappy person does that? One of my least favorite locations. Parking is limited and the patrons are aggressively impatient. I can't tell you the number of times I've been hit by charts because the people were not paying attention. This location of extremely strict about having Costco coupon book to get discounts. All other locations I've been to just provide the discount at the register while I've had cashiers at the location charging me regular price if I don't have the physical coupons. There's never a dull moment at this super store. We usually go an hour before they close to avoid the crowds. There are so many different products to choose from and if you go down every aisle there are always super deals to be had. I want to give a big fat ZERO if I could . Most of the employees are very rude and exhibit substandard customer service. Costco sets the bar very low on customer service . My two agonizing days at the Alhambra Costco, Day 1, I noticed the front left tire is going flat. I waited more than two hours for them to claim my tire wasn't flat. That same night I heard air was leaking from the tire and my husband found the leak using water and soap. Day 2, went back to Costco to resolve the issue. Tire Center entrance is in the same area of the store exit. I typically enter from the returns entrance, but today an employee with a tablet soliciting members to sign on the more expensive plans was at the returns entrance. He stopped me cold and barked at me to go through the main entrance. I explained I am only going to the tire center and he literally blocked the door and made me walk all the way around the store cutting through the cashier lines to go to the tire center. While waiting for my tire to get repaired for the second time in two days, I did some shopping . During checkout, the newly on duty cashier, Edward, asked his helped to remove the "Line Closed" sign in the adjacent line. The woman ahead of me took no action so I asked Edward if he is opening the line, he replied "no", his helper also replied "no", but immediately asked the woman ahead of me to move to their register. Instead of being professional and informing me they needed to take the next customer, they lied that the line wasn't open, but took the customer in front of me. I truly felt their behavior was malicious and they wanted to school me and teach me a lesson because I intended to go into the newly opened line. They intentionally embarrassed and shamed me in front of other customers. Unless the cashier walks the next customer to the newly opened register, my take is that if no one moves to a newly opened line, then it's first come, first served. I called their administrative staff and reported the incident. I spent so much money at Costco and I expect to be treated with dignity and kindness. Stopped in this Costco yesterday with my son and daughter-in-law. We were there about an hour before closing on Saturday. This was one of the busiest Costco locations I've been to. Maybe it was due to time of day or the location. I saw some interesting items that I didn't notice at the location closer to home, such as frozen peeled lychee and another type of instant pho noodles in ready to eat containers. There was a road show going on with samples being given out. You can imagine the crowds trying to get a taste of the noodles they were passing out. It was a hard pass for me. I didn't stay long enough to buy anything, but my daughter-in-law was on a mission and completed her shopping in less than 45 minutes, including self check out. I love Costco! Parking lot is huge and love the huge parking spaces. If you wanna practice parking with first time drivers definitely go to Costco haha. Their carts have a new safety feature added to their front right wheel to protect from people taking it off the property. Set up inside is similar to Monterey park one. But dairy area may be a bit confusing to find. Hidden on left wall past the pharmacy. Also they put the Greek yogurt in there. Typically I grab it from the individual fridge aisles. I usually go to Monterey park Costco. Samples are same. Workers still wear masks, hair nets, have covers over the trays. Meat area and fruit area is same as Monterey park at the back. Every now and then there will be special deals like $5 steelhead today. Be careful about expiration dates!!! Sometimes they can be pretty close to the day you buy the produce. Tire center is next to membership as well. Optometry optical, membership are the same too. They have self check out as well. Recommend going to the end near self checkout. Usually lines are a bit shorter. Their optical selections change every now and then. Good selection. That's where I get glasses. Also a lot of insurances are covered. Look out for great deals. Food court is outside with bunch of seating. Still $1.50 hotdogs haha! Also rotisserie chicken is still 4.99 but in plastic bags. Not a huge fan. Great location. Came around 1pm on Friday. Hmm my review isn't affected by the following, but why is there a Medical Examiner van parked in front of the food court?? This has been my go-to Costco Gas for the past couple of weeks. The entrance, parking lot, and gas station lines are chaos every single day unless I get gas early in the morning at 5:30 then there's not a lot of cars. The lot is extremely small so they did the best they could w the small space available. Gas prices here are mehhh, compared to back home where it's at least $0.10 cents/gal cheaper. Gas at Costco is still a great deal since it's about a dollar less than Chevron, can't complain. Inside of the Costco warehouse is just as chaotic as the parking lot and it's just too crowded, so I avoid going to this Costco... I prefer Aldi where the store is not in shambles. read more

I came here during a quick lunch break and the layout of some of the promotional items keep changing! I was hoping to go in, grab and pay, all within 5 to 10 minutes. The display moved and I had to go searching for it. I didnt ask a staff member because I was just in a hurry to get out. Their value on their meat selection is always a great bargain and some of their wholesale prices are great and appreciated on so many levels. I like where this Costco is located but I don't like this particular store that much. SERVICE Service is good for the most part BUT one annoying thing that I run into on 50% of my visits is some employees having poor awareness. This is mainly at the exit isle that runs from where self checkout is to the optometry area. Often, employees will be standing in the middle of the isle just talking and completely getting in the way. Or they will be walking down the aisle side by side and also getting in everyone's way. PARKING Parking is bad unless you come on off hours like 4pm on a weekday. The way the parking lot is designed makes for lots of bottle necks. read more

Ticket# 260205-004221 Terrible customer service!!!!! I was FORCE shipped my appliances because warehouse did not have space. I told them my kitchen was not in yet. Costco dropped the appliances (with installation) when my kitchen was still drywall only. A few weeks later Costco returned to install my appliances. A month later they are not working. When I reached out to warranty services they would not return/replace item because it was past 90 days. I told them they forced me to accept the item early and did not hook up appliances until weeks later. This would've easily put me under the 90 days. They still denied my replacement. How am I to know the item is faulty if it is not hooked up? Highly disappointed in Costco, they were not flexible when it comes to 90day return. In this situation it ended up about 93 days total that's including the time the item was still in box prior to Costco installation. On a Saturday morning in early March, my sister and I waited in the non egg line at 8:50am. The Costco worker was explaining there was a separate egg line. He was walking back and forth. The workers keep an eye on the line for line cutters and Block the aisles so people don't cut in lines. The workers was shouting inside about the separate egg line outside. Came to the Costco food court on a Monday afternoon to grab lunch while helping family move. It had been a long time since I ordered a whole pizza: it's as good as ever (though it looks like the combo option is gone for good). I've been going to Costco's in So Cal long enough where I believe the outdoor food court is the norm (it's not...the majority are indoors...which is what I was used to before moving here). I mention this because fast food (especially ones that go great with beer) just flat out tastes better eating it outside. This one in Alhambra is outdoors, and has the newly installed automatic order taking kiosks. The Costco food menu is pretty small, and the kiosks did seem to make the lines (both the pick-up line and the in-person ordering line) shorter. Unfortunately, we had a problem with our order. There were three of us, so ordered a full pizza (half pepperoni/half cheese for $9.95), along with self serve Coke products ($0.79 each), iced coffee drink ($2.99), and a strawberry sundae ($2.49). In the kiosk, there was an option to tie payment to an existing phone-in pizza order (call 626-281-1402), which we had not done, so a warning popped up about wait times (which was fine). After paying, the receipt was supposed to print out, which you would take to the pick-up line. The receipt didn't print and no error popped up...had no idea what to do next. The employee who was supporting the area fixed the printing problem, but there was no way to reprint. The only option (as told) was to go to customer service (basically the returns line) and ask for a refund (they could look up the order from the membership number). So while my friend did that, I went ahead and placed the exact same order on my membership. The pick-up line went quick, where I picked up my drinks and frozen items. I was told that the pizza would take 15 minutes (it was very busy and they only start making the pizza once you get to front), picking up from a side window. So I waited the 15 minutes, and the pizza was ready as promised. It was crowded, so a bit difficult finding a table but one cleared up. Only when we sat down, did my friend come back to state he had gotten his refund (20 minutes later). Not a good experience...for these kiosks where the receipt is critical, the payment processing must be tied to the successful printing of the receipt...it can't be like a gas station where a receipt printing often fails but you've already gotten your product so not as a big deal. And maybe have an interface between the kiosk and the kitchen so the pizza starts getting made as soon as payment is received (instead of waiting till you get to the front of the line). Costco systems can be just anachronistic (still giving us cash rewards via a mailed credit card bill...c'mon). As for the food, it was great, and you can not beat the prices. There is extra cheese on the pizza, and the crust is as good as ever. And after switching to soft serve ice cream (from the previous fro-yo), it was as good as McDonald's on a good day. So will definitely order all of it again, but maybe use the in-person order line. read more

This is the local Costco. There's a huge lot here but honestly it's pretty hard to get in and out her depending on the direction you're coming in from. The gas station is also way in the corner and hard to access during a busy day. Typical Costco rules, avoid weekends and potentially even weekday evenings. Recently it's been almost impossible to get eggs and there's exclusive hours long line just for the eggs. The service here is pretty good though. Although it's so busy, the workers are always kind and do their best to help. This Costco has the same seasonal selection as other Southern California locations, but it's different than what I've seen in Northern California in Seattle. The shop bays were full and the crew was working on other customer vehicles. My truck was not touched until 2pm. Very disappointed that they cannot keep a schedule as if my time doesn't matter. Cafeteria is being managed terribly. I called in and asked to place an order for just one pizza for a work lunch and the woman on the phone told me they are not taking phone orders. Instead to just come in because it's first come basis. I said okay and asked what the wait time was looking at, she said everyone is getting their pizzas right away. Sounded good to me. I showed up within ten minutes, placed my order at the kiosk and began my wait. It's been just over one hour that I've been standing in the sun waiting for my order. I'm writing this review as I stand around waiting in this massive crowd of people waiting for their orders. If there's a huge crowd, and your backed up with food taking an hour plus to receive just say so. I've since compromised my lunch break at work and have a new problem to worry about. On top of that, I've heard at least 5 people come up and pick up telephone orders. Why were they able to place phone orders for STACKS of pizzas, yet I was denied to place an order for just one? An efficient, no-nonsense location of the highly ubiquitous Costco Wholesale chain. Unfortunately this location does suffer from higher influx of individuals than comparable Costco's at other SGV locations, and often seems even more hectic than typical, although it appears to be improving its staffing to customer ratio in response. Frequently well-stocked and accessible, this location does serve its purpose of providing affordable deals to the larger public. read more
