I don't know how a rating system would be valid for a warehouse for businesses yes service and selection but it's a warehouse they have things here that other warehouses might not have and bulk and then quantity all you need is a business license and you can share the membership with family and friends so it's not difficult they have a lot of things here they open early and they also close early and they're closed on the weekends I think lots of Frozen items and if you're a baker they also have puff pastry sheets that are like in the case we got one of those and they're very versatile you can make a lot of things with it they also churros just like the ones at Disneyland read more

This is a Costco for restaurant and any food industry businesses. You can pretty much find everything you need here. Meat, produce, dairies, seasoning, gifts, candies etc, all in bulk. I come here sometimes to help my parents pick up some frozen veggies and produce from time to time. Service is not bad, staffs are helpful and 5-6 checkouts. A Costco-sized warehouse devoted to food and food-related stuff. 1,000 10-oz paper cups at .02 per cup? Yes. It's a membership place, but no fear. Stop by the front desk and get a free "day pass" to get VIP membership treatment for the day. Food first? Fruits, vegetables, meat, frozen stuff, you name it. Costco pricing. Paper goods, cleaning supplies, pots and pans -- that stuff goes on for miles. Everything is neat and clean and well organized. They have all the cool commercial-style kitchen electronics there, too. I got my industrial looking microwave there that feels like it weighs 100 pounds. Long line at checkout, as most customers are buying A LOT of stuff. This is in regards to last year and I had this as a draft to see how it would be handled but it wasn't handled properly and I feel it's right to say something. I came in to restaurant depot to meet my brother who was picking some things up and need help with a few decisions and as soon as I walked in I slipped on tomatoes that were all over the floor. I genuinely didn't see them and they were everywhere. I slipped and fell on my knees and palms and immediately asked for towels to clean up my hands and pants. I had to find someone to help me, no one cleaned the mess and I ended up going behind the seafood counter and grabbing a wet towel. I asked someone if they could help clean it as we don't want someone else falling and he asked me if I was okay. I decided to report it the next day and the way the manager made me feel like I'm some trash trying to get a payout was cruel. I felt every ache of pain in my body from the way I fell on the pavement and he said we didn't have tomatoes on the floor and we don't have cameras. Funny enough I show him where I fell and a tomato from the day before is still on the floor. He made me take pictures of my palms and sent me off my way. Not kind, not apologetic, just hey let me get photos of your hands to show your hands don't have bruising and you can leave. I decided to go to a chiropractor to make sure I didn't damage anything. They have cement pavement. It was so painful to fall. Regardless, service was unhelpful and unwelcoming and I didn't get a call or anything from them. read more

Jovannie Shopping for my restaurant can be a chore and exhausting, but the staff at this restaurant depot are so incredible that it makes the whole process worth it. I wish I could call them all out by name, but every single one of them goes above and beyond to help and get me what I need. The meat department staff never hesitates to get a pallet down for even just one box of product. The cashiers are kind and understanding, working with me on a tight budget and don't get frustrated if I need to put items back. When it comes time to loading my car, jovannie has my back,he waves at me from across the parking lot to let me know that he'll help me next after finishing up with another customer.He packs my vehicle efficiently and thoughtfully,fitting in way more than I ever thought possible with never a broken egg or a smushed loaf of bread.The staff here knows me by name, they are welcoming, professional, and helpful. The number of robberies that occur here in broad daylight is very concerning. People are constantly getting robbed and cars are always getting broken into IN THE DAY TIME. Police show up and they say their cameras don't work or there are no cameras... There needs to be a security guard posted outside to deter these robberies from happening. read more

Not everything cheap here. Some price are higher than walmart and some cheaper. Bought the ribeye steak it says 12 per pounds and when I got home it charges me 15 per pounds. So dishonor. read more

COVID-19: Social distancing is not enforced at this establishment. All of the staff wears a mask. All customers are expected to wear a mask too. Some of the staff also wears gloves. There are some hand sanitizers available for customers to use. This place is open and available for grocery shopping with no limited capacity. They are not sanitizing in between customers. COVID-19 Vaccination Proof: This establishment currently does not require proof of vaccination. While I was grabbing some supplies from this establishment several days ago, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. He had a really bad attitude and was saying really bad stuff to me as well. I shop here twice a week. There are certain important items that seem to be consistently out of stock and when I ask about those items I get the usual response....."Supply chain problems". Sorry but that doesn't work anymore. Another problem is the broken down tall blue carts they have. Missing wheels and missing top portion of the carts makes loading and pushing difficult. We slowly build up some guts to venture out to 626 area buying Asian grocery, because I'm done with Campbell soup or instant Pho Bowl. We spot Restaurant Depot while sliding down 210. Make a quick U turn and happy to see the sign that general public welcomed. At the front desk, they gave you a one time pass and wee kind enough to let us in. They closed at 4pm, so come early. My sister and I decided to check out Restaurant Depot since they recently open to public. On a Saturday afternoon, I parked in their lot and not too crowded. For non-members, sign up at the desk and given piece of paper. It is overwhelming once I walked throughout the aisles. They have plenty of pasta, containers, ice cream, flour, etc. I wasn't able to walk each aisle because of my mask. We only bought 3lb butter $5.51 which is cheap. The line to cashier went fast. Been a customer since day 1. We even signed up when they were going around recruiting and informing businesses before they opened their doors. The good: Over the last 15 years or so, we've seen everything from friendly personable cashiers being promoted to managers, to employees fired for various reasons. It's nice to see the employee side of this location evolve into what it is today. The workers in the meat department and the walk in fridge, are at the top of their field. These guys care a LOT about the customers and go out of their way to help us. One of the Managers named Miguel is also a really caring person in terms of businesses, and customer service, and I'd take a bullet for that dude. Now for the bad: While their employee situation has been great, the business side of this business has devolved significantly. They're ALWAYS out of bare essentials. Those friendly cashiers, turned managers are apathetic at best when it comes to local businesses relying on Restaurant Depot for supplies. I guess when you're earning your paycheck, you don't care that much about those businesses that are keeping your stores working. As a Food handling manager, produce is intentionally kept at freezing temperatures in order to keep it from going bad, but that same practice is against proper food handling standards. Such as Onions, which are kept in the giant walk in freezer, and then brought out and brought to room temperature, causing the outer usable layers to get completely waterlogged and molded after they get massive condensation being brought up to room temp. They also price onions based on size. When they had deceptively labeled regular onions as "Jumbo", and we're charging Jumbo prices for them, I called them out. They were barely the size of a baseball, but we're charging Jumbo prices. Almost $35 for a 50 pound bag, where more than a 1/3 of the weight had to be tossed out to mold and rot due to their mishandling and almost intentional molding of the produce. Sweet Potatoes are kept at a location where there is a water leak above them in the walk in fridge, at temperatures far below the warning label on the actual box themselves causing the same issue where water accumulates on them, causing mold. There hasn't been Yeast at this location in approximately 5 months, let alone corn starch for almost a year now. Imagine calling yourself restaurant depot, and not having basic ingredients such as Yeast, Cornstarch, and often times salt/sugar. They're always out of certain items, and when they get them in, the price has somehow tripled. Whoever the Buyer is for this location needs to get fired because they are slacking off. Even smart and final has had items that they always seem to be out of, let alone National delivery chains. This isn't some small mom and pop store. This is also a National chain, but it's buyer seems to be slacking off. Every time you ask them for information on when the item you need will be delivered, it's almost always met with a lackadaisical shrug, and a "well we've been asking for it but there's nothing I can do, I just work here." Baking powder went from $8 to $23 in a week. They're always quick to say that we go to market values, and are faster than Speedy Gonzales to raise prices to meet the market prices, but act as quick as molasses to being the prices down again to meet the market after it adjusts. Overall, it's not what it used to be. Now they let in the general public too, meaning that those businesses are losing inventory and essential supplies to run their businesses, to hoarders and resellers. Supplies are always inconsistent, and management seems to actually get pissed off at their business customers when they relay frustration on their dwindling inventory. read more

Horrible customer service. I called to find out if a certain item was in stock, since I tried to order via Instacart the day before and they were out. I got transferred to a dept where the gentleman said I was transferred to wrong dept and he transferred me back to main operator...who never answered the phone after 10 min. I called back and asked the person answering the phone about the item I was looking for. He said, "do you have item number?"." I said "no, only the name". He said "what is the name?" I started telling him and spelling it, whereby he got irritated and rudely asked twice, "what is the name, what is the name". I said "I'm trying to tell you". Then I was put on hold for 15 min only for him to come back on the line to ask me, "what I was looking for?" REALLY?! I told him only to be put on hold again. Then a new person picked up and asked if they could help me. I had to tell them what I was looking for, again, and they said, "if they couldn't find it, would it be ok if they transferred me to their manager". Which apparently they did, when they picked up next and I had to repeat the item name again. Manager was able to get me an answer within 30 seconds (30 min later). Dear Lord! read more

It took 2hrs to get an answer on the phone. Employees are rude and not helpful over the phone or in person. Don't waste your money here. Jaime on the phone gives you the run around. After I spoke to a Mr Romero and voice my wait time he still puts me on a 20 min hold. This need to be escalated to get an answer. WORST CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE. The cashier OVERCHARGED me and charged me for items I was NOT even buying!! + did NOT apologize, rather continued acting rude and unprofessional. What happened: As she charged the items, I noticed something seems off, so I told her "I think something went wrong, the charges don't seem correct." She said "no everything is correct of course!" Once I took the items into my car and double checked my receipt I realized she had overcharged me and even charged for items I am not even buying. I went back into the store to let them know what happened. They did NOT sorry. It took them OVER AN HOUR to fix their mistakes. Jonathan, who helped a lot, kept going back and forth to see what they had charged incorrectly. While Juan, the assistant manager was sitting in his office laughing and talking with what seems like a friend. Shouldn't he be figuring out what's wrong or helping in some way? At one point Jonathan said to me "I can't go double check the price of the item to fix the issue because I'm floor supervisor so I can't leave the front area." Are you kidding???? Then call the store "assistant manager," who isn't doing anything productive in his office so he can help out! Last time I checked, I am the customer and the store should be providing some sort of decent customer service to me, not the other way around! So I had to walk back into the fridge and take a picture of the price marked and come back and show them. Once they found the mistakes, they offered STORE CREDIT!! Again, without apologizing for the mistakes and for making me wait over an hour. Especially after I told them I'm going through a very difficult time, as my father just passed away and his funeral is this week. They finally refunded the money back into my card after me complaining again. Overall the customer service here is greatly LACKING. I understand mistakes happen everywhere, that's is ok and understandable, but how they treated me, the way they acted, and the way they run the store is NOT OK. I love it here, it's super convenient for anything you could possibly need! Whether it's for business, or parties , etc they have a huge variety, and everyone is pretty helpful . It's also neatly organized. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because I'm a health junkie, and I really wish they carried a little bit more of an organic selection, although I understand their target market wants highest possible margins, making it hard for them to sustain. However I still love this place and will come here forever lol read more

I tagged along with a veteran customer of this place for the first time yesterday and got a pretty positive impression of it. It's basically Costco, minus the free samples and the crazy crowds! It was a very comfortable, stress-free shopping experience. Parking was plentiful and staff seemed friendly. They have a good variety of products but not everything is great value for money; alcohol for example seems cheaper at Costco and perhaps even at some local stores, but there is no denying that if you run a food related business of any kind this is the place to get your supplies. Terrible customer service!! I would rather drive further away or pay more and go to another store! & I don't think it's just me who feels this way, while checking out I overheard a customer at the register next to me say out loud, "you have terrible customer service skills!! All of the workers are so rude here! It's unbelievable." I spoke with Juan, the assistant manager who, instead of saying he will work on the issue, or try to speak with the workers and train them better, said things like: "I don't think that's exactly what happened, we helped best we could, that's not true." Are you serious?! I had to stop him from continuing and say, when a customer comes to you to complain about CUSTOMER SERVICE, first thing you do is apologize and say reassuring things like "we will get this matter sorted out, we will try to fix this, what can I do to make your experience better.." not try to protect yourself and your workers. The customers here are mainly business owners, who have a lot on their shoulders to begin with, so they just want an easy place to shop without so much headache. Who ever answers the phones at this location flat out SUCKS. Every time I call, I get put on hold for 20+. What's more annoying is after 10 mins or so, the same person will get back on the line and ask if I need help. Then put me back on hold till I eventually hang up. How hard is it to turn to the computer that's right on front of you? I go to several locations and see a computer in front of every front desk rep.
