What a wonderful place to donate and find crafting treasures. Remainders is a craft thrift store and the only one I'm aware of that functions like this. I wish there were similar stores in San Diego as well. It feels like it would be difficult to find a specific thing that you had in mind, but if you're open to being inspired by what's about, this is an excellent place to start. I bought a number of (older) crafty books for $1 a piece and am looking forward to exploring them all. read more

Beware: Rude staffers with atrocious customer service skills and manners. My Experience: At the checkout counter one young staffer was yelling over my shoulder at patrons in the store: "You ALL need to stop shopping and get in line!" I pulled out my phone and time said 5:53 pm and the store closes at 6pm. Maybe if the staff shopped at a TJMaxx or a Target they would learn how to make the announcement with much more finesse. I did see a few women in the store do exactly as she asked...they stopped shopping, left their baskets full of items, and walked out. As I was headed out I was in a conversation with another employee as one customer was still paying. Next thing I know behind me another employee grabbed me by my shoulder to usher me out because she had to "lock the door now." Rule #1. Don't ever, ever touch a customer. I calmly left thinking I would never hire these employees...but I would recommended them to a competitor. I did not realize Remainders operates as a non-profit organization that doesn't need customers or revenue. I will patronize other small businesses and donate our corporate items to them instead. read more

This place was once filled with good deals and now I see prices going up sky high. There's broken items, no more good sales monthly. No more fill a bag which was already expensive. Patterns doubled. The parking is laughable and dangerous. It is dangerous. You have dried up paint, you have spilling out used dye. It's donated to you for free in mass by the community. What is happening? I have serious questions about what you are doing as a non-profit with donations for the Eaton fire in your area. Things like sewing machines are sky high here. And the customers are aggressive. It did not used to be like this. The things influencers used to brag about here? It's gone now. I have seen confused people outside the store after being turned down to donate here. As in, you refused their donations. And all of this with the craziest attitude. As if you are giving out grants. There's also things being thrown away in your dumpster. read more

Just beware that if you use a credit card; there is an extra 3% fee. It is crafters paradise in there. Things are organized into bins. It's cheaper than buying new at Michael's or Hobby Lobby but you also have to hunt for it. Also items are donated so inspect before buying. The people in the crowd were amazingly kind and respectful .Staff was ultra helpful it was their once a month overstock give away day and crafty fun the value was exceptional as it was a free event .Took the opportunity to find a few newer Christmas decorations because I had lost many . Selection was heavenly for someone who needed latchhook yarn ! I came pretty late but it was their give away day but hey there was a lot of low cost items for a free day! I've been wanting to go to Remainders - a center for creative reuse - for a long time and finally made it today. It was mobbed! But fun to take a look around. If you're a crafter you will probably find something there. I admit I am spoiled by ScrspSF but even though I didn't find anything at Remainders I saw other people did and there was quite a line at the checkout. What an amazing find! Remainders: why aren't you everywhere?! You keep beautiful craft supplies out of the trash and you bring the community together! I first heard of Remainders via my Buy Nothing Group in my neighborhood. I am emptying my late mother's craft room and Reminders is the perfect place to donate! The process is so easy: once I parked on the street, signs are clear to go to the donation door up the driveway (more parking available there). I dropped off, you have the option for a tax receipt and I took one. I had to check out the store and it blew my mind. Think of a craft Goodwill - not only do they have patterns, fabric, yarns, string, but paper supplies off all kinds from nailing supplies, cards for every occasion, scrapbooking supplies, stickers, washi tape, maps and old photos (10 very each)! I'm so disappointed that I don't live closer! We drove an hour to visit to see if I could find scrapbooking stuff and I wasn't let down! There is so much and it is a bit overwhelming, but so fun! You could spend hours there if you looked through everything they had! Everything was extremely well priced. OMG! all I can say is that I'm happy I don't live close to this store or I would probably be here every day. Was greeted by staff when I walked in. The have aisles with plastic bins labeled with an assortment of "stuff" pens, paper, markers, stickers, washi tape, so much stuff. I went for junk journal supplies and I walked out with a bag full of stuff. This shop is filled with treasures, and I was told they re-stock daily. They had a lot of fabric as well if that's what you're looking for. I don't think they have parking so you will have to park in the street. Although Remainders has been around since 2018, I just discovered it this past week. I had brought my best friend, a quilter from out of town, to Meraki to look over their stock. While we were chatting with the employees they mentioned Remainders to us. Well, considering that both of us are creatives and do various fiber arts, we were definitely intrigued. Remainders, as the name might suggest, is filled with donations from various crafters: remnants of fabric, findings, patterns, notions and the like. The intention behind Remainders is that any person should be able to find materials to work with AND find a community of people that can share knowledge. That fact alone is enough to endear them to me, but there's more. The ground level shopping area is HUGE. In one corner there's an entire bolt of fabric an individual donated, in another large pieces of leather. In yet another you can rummage for just the right button, attachment or trim. This place has stuff for virtually every crafter, whether you sew, knit, crochet, do leather work or mixed media! It was so fun looking through all the items Remainders had in stock. I would suggest that you spend no less than an hour here as there is a lot of material to go through. And the even better part? Most of it is incredibly inexpensive. I bought four yards of lace trim and four yards of cotton cording for under three dollars! On top of all that, this place also offers classes in a variety of crafts: my friend and I decided to take a two hour course on crochet. The class was located on the floor above the shop and was quite spacious: big enough that our crochet class was being held right next to a sewing workshop. Most classes are thirty dollars or under and involve hands on instruction. We had two (patient) instructors for our class of ten and learned quite a bit. I plan on returning soon for another class. This is just the place for people who have even the slightest creative tendencies. Just going through their stock gave me ideas for at least three new projects. Highly recommended! read more

I found a ton of paper, thread (although no linen thread anyone knew of), a work mat, frames, thread wax - the list can keep going. All very affordable. Wow! I am so thrilled to have found this little gem hidden in Pasadena. This thrift store offers tons of craft supplies for very cheap prices. They have everything from paints, clay, fabrics, crafting tools, jewelry, beads, paint brushes, stickers, scrapbook stuff and more! Their pricing system is awesome and ranges from 50cent -$3 and a few things above that price. You do have to dig through bins but they have everything labeled. I have been back multiple times and now I'm hooked. This place is great for kids doing projects for school or crafty people who love to make things. I was not disappointed. They are closed on Mondays though so keep that in mind when u want to stop by. The service here is always friendly as well. This is my second time coming out to Pasadena just for Remainders! As a frequent crafter (sewist, knitter, scrapbook journalist and general hobbyist), I was delighted to find out this shop existed through social media. First things first, this is located on a street with free 2 hour street parking available on both sides and there is a side street with free street parking available that you can park and walk over. Remainders also hosts community events like art shows, has art classes available, and has inspiration for crafts all throughout their store. They also advertise local community events on a bulletin board making it a staple in the Pasadena crafting community. I'm always on the hunt for cheap supplies since art projects absolutely add up and quickly. Price wise, this place is THE best craft store you can and should stop into before going elsewhere to see if they have supplies you could use. You name it; they have it or have had it in the past. Supply varies as they depend on donations but with some supplies I bought costing just a quarter, I truly cannot be mad. They have yarn, paper supplies, knitting supplies, beadwork items, sewing supplies including patterns and zippers and sewing feet, stationary and scrapbook/journaling supplies. I absolutely recommend any crafters on a budget to come out here. I do think this place is organized to the best of its ability and I think for the price, you can afford to browse around. My purchases today for a total of approximately $2.50 included: 3 different bias tapes for sewing, a washi tape for journaling, 1 piece of decorative paper, 2 stamps. Been a long time customer of Remainders - and I have the store and staff to thank for helping me get through some of the hardest points in my life by making it affordable to still be able to create. The staff are wonderful , the store is organized and I have found wonderful things there in past years. My knock off of stars, I recognize is an opinion and personal preference but here it goes: Once some influencers showcased the store, it has become much harder to be there. I'm so happy customers are finding the place, they deserve every ounce of that business but the store is now packed whenever I go and I often feel like I'm being pushed around by other customers, the prices have gone up a ton for select items but not all some of it is still Affordable , ( I have been in there where an item is 100+ dollars , the crafting jewelry section used to have more price variety and be affordable , now they just seem like a jewelry retail section at retail prices when everything has been donated?) , there seems to be less donation variety ? Which isn't something they control but I feel like the selections used to be a lot better in years past, and it used to be a relaxing place for me and now it just doesn't feel the same. I barely go there anymore because of these reasons which stinks because I love what they do and there should be more creative reuse places in general. In summary: lovely staff, clean building and organized , prices can be a bit confusing with how high they go at times , it's a small space so it gets cramped in there pretty quick and I'd say it's a great place to go if you're a fiber artist or love scrapbooking etc. Other arts maybe not so much? But I think certain things are still doable there. I think it would be cool though if this business helped them expand their size - also I heard their classes were good. Just my opinion since it felt more approachable before it blew up and I like a more relaxed craft shopping experience but I'm glad people are finding joy there and I will always wish that store and staff the best. read more

Love remainders! Still kind of hit and miss if youre looking for specific materials (fabrics, tools, findings)... because everything here is donated so it's basically like thrifting. But also it accounts for how cheaply they can price items. I've purchased fabric here, as well as yards of black velcro, Rit dye remover, a big bag of tiny googly eyes, and fancy gift boxes. Oh and a bunch of colored whiteboard markers (it was either 5 for $1 or 8 for $1). You might find super random things like corner paper punchers, and not see super basic things like white buttons. But if you're a crafty hoarder with ADHD like me, you'll definitely find plenty to see and buy here. You can also donate supplies here, I believe. (I need to unload some of my supplies so i can make way for new hobbies. For which I will probably buy my supplies from them too!) The ladies here are super nice, and I think that's about the best part of Remainders. I'm hoping to get into their sewing classes at some point. read more

Remainders is such a hidden gem in Pasadena! It's a creative reuse center filled with affordable craft supplies, donated materials, and secondhand treasures that are perfect for artists, makers, and small business owners like me. I love that they make creativity more accessible while also helping reduce waste. You never know what you'll find fabric, paints, trims, buttons, beads, and so much more. I've only been one time but can't wait to go back and see what else I can find. The space is well-organized, and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. It's a great place to get inspired, stock up without breaking the bank, and support a business doing good for the community and the environment. They also offer community classes as well for various skill levels. And I believe they also have classes for kids. I'm always big on needing to know where I can park when visiting somewhere new. So I want to include parking in this review. They have a very small parking lot. This is also where you can go to drop off donations. I wouldn't recommend parking here because of the size and it's likely being used for drop offs. I also would want to make sure I'm leaving space for their volunteers and staff. It's also shared with another business. They currently have a pinned post on their Instagram with parking info as of the time I am writing this review. Definitely pay attention to street signs as it relates to parking. When we went on a Saturday early afternoon and it was already pretty full in the lot and at the immediate street parking. We parked in a quiet street in the neighborhood which gave for a nice and relaxing walk to and from the store. I set a timer for the duration indicated on the parking sign to be sure I didn't violate any parking rules of the neighborhood. One of the neatest stores I've been to! I would love it if it was more organized, but it's a small goldmine of art and sewing supplies if you take the time to dig around! I'm not a seamstress by any means, but there are lots of visual art supplies like washi tape, stamps, notebooks, sketchbooks, paper, pens, pencils, stickers, and things of the like. But they boast a large section of fabrics and trims that can be purchased. I love the idea of a reduce and reuse, and the thought of using perfectly usable art materials and fabric and giving then another life is an amazing idea! There were quite alot people there when I got out a little early from work, so I feel it definitely serves locally to the area. I think it gives many creatives a place to discover and get perfectly fine supplies at a very affordable price! I came out with a washi tape dispenser, a small handmade ceramic cup, some basic BicStic pens, and a few stamps for about $7 usd. There is a small parking lot in the back (where you can also drop off supplies) as well as street parking at the front. If I ever need a certain art supply, I'll be sure to try and look here first before to see if they could have it. Remainders appeared in my insta-reels and I just had to come out and see what it was all about. What appealed to me is the sustainability aspect: other people's craft cast off. Walking into the store reminded me of creative, hand-made heaven. The place was replete with to wall, floor to ceiling craft items that ranged from finished items, paper products, fabric in bolts, fat quarters, and a variety of implements for the manual arts. My eyes almost couldn't see everything for the variety. Items were well organized in easy to reach bins, and then organized by "department." Remainders offers classes (on the 2nd floor) for crafts related to items in the store and more. It is clear they value sustainability, celebrate creativity, and love makers. Prices are super reasonable: as low as .50 and higher (like the $300 kiln - a bargain that I REALLY considered, but shied from). Some items are sold by the bag or by the pound. Me and the kids felt like we made out like banshees: my daughter with her highlighter markers, my son with Christmas decorations, and me with fat quarters, yarn, and a loom. read more

The classes they offer are fun and inspiring and a great way for me take small steps in creating while I discover what I like both with designs and fabric. I'd heard the buzz in my arty and crafty friend that if you got the notion, this is the place to go! For donations of supplies or to purchase it's a gem of a find. Kind of like Restore for Habitat for Humanity, but for projects. There was some amazing fabric that would make for amazing drapery or upholstery that conjured my imagination. I did find exactly what I came in for, which was clear plastic divided containers for storing beads. I also scored on a Cartier red gift box and some fine Crane notecards... because hand written thank you notes are still very sincere way to express gratitude for kindness. Every region needs at least one craft thrift store like Remainders! I'd heard about it on a YouTube video and was surprised I didn't know about it sooner as I'm local to the SGV. Everything is neatly organized by craft and prices are great! I walked away with a couple of vintage cross stitch kits and 16 x 20" frame for a poster I recently purchased for just under $8. Been looking for a large paper trimmed & found it here, for $3!!! Right there I was ready to give it 5 stars already . The only drawback, for me, at least is looking, searching for specific items but I have to admit that it is very much organized here. Almost everything is labeled, and the prices are posted at the end of the aisles. Staff are helpful & courteous. Shoutout to Theresa who measured & cut my lace/ribbons, and Drew at the cashier/front. Of note, these are donated items, so some items may be gently used or are missing parts. Paper items, mostly are $2/lb. Found some really neat card stock. Clearly, I will return to explore some more. Such an amazing place! Wonderful deals and staff. That also have fun classes and a cool learning space with lots of tools and supplies.

This is a review of sewing class 1 It was just 2 hours but I feel like I came out with a fairly good knowledge to do some basic sewing on a machine. They go through the anatomy of the machine and then you get free time with scraps to try as you like! The teacher walks around helping and answering questions, very attentive. I also appreciate that the machine they teach on isn't outrageously expensive and you could actually get the same model. I'll be back for sewing 2 next time! For $30 it's a steal for sure (someone drove up from SD bc it was cheaper to do this than do one in SD!) read more
