What a Funtastic shop! I am glad I found Paper Source while I was shopping in the area. The store is very organized. The layout helps optimizing the shopping experience. The shop has very inviting and relaxing vibes. I really enjoyed shopping there and walking around to explore every corner. They have a wide selection of stationaries, luxury gift wrap for every occasion , crafts, puzzles, Lego, party supplies, unique gift ideas, cards and more.I liked their idea of creating your own envelope. The staff were friendly. Paper Source is owned by Elliot Investment Management which owns Barnes & Noble. You can use Barnes & Noble membership at Paper Source too. Definitely,I will be back.

The finished product!

I have been all over town to try and get a gift wrapped - and who knew that Paper Source did that for you, at an affordable price! Some may think that the price isn't that affordable, but when I can't wrap a gift to save my life, it's nice to know there are experts out there who can. Thank you for your help with wrapping a birthday gift for my best friend. It was perfectly done and he loved how it looked. I will be back for anything else I might need wrapped!

What a Fun place to shop if you love old schooled stuff such as papers, pens, cards....etc. Customer service was on point when I visited them a long while ago, so making this a long overdue review. I was hoping they would tell me about their rewards' program, instead I had to find that out by myself which was fine, I guess. I ended up signing up for their rewards' program After my initial purchase, so I wasn't too thrilled. Im still keeping this store at four stars because they displayed some Clearance items the day I shopped here. I was able to find a Kate Spade piece of stationary which I have never seen from their own Outlet store or online. I lucked out on parking that day because I was able to locate meter parking which I made sure didn't expire. Will be back for more fun stuff, but there's room for improvement here.

A greeting card displays a cartoon-style illustration of Keanu Reeves, dressed in a suit and tie, with long hair and facial hair. The card includes pink heart graphics and text that reads 'KEANU FEEL THE LOVE TONIGHT?' The background features other greeting cards with floral and love themes, arranged on a display rack.

Paper Source is a great place to grab some basic items for small projects. I just came in looking for a bday card and found it. Service was on point, the Paper Source is located in a great area and they offer good prices.

I like visiting the Paper Source every time I come across one. They always have the cutest and most unique gift wrapping paper, greeting cards and gifts. This particular store is the one I visit the most. It's always organized and has a friendly staff. I always find something unique to gift someone, especially during the holidays. You won't find them anywhere else,,, also love wrapping special occasion gifts with their wrapping paper. So many to chose from. My gifts always stand out because of Paper Source.

On a recommendation from a friend, we drove to this location in Pasadena. My 10 year old wanted her first planner and my friend who is a teacher said, it's a great time to go to Paper Source because they are having a huge sale on calendars and planners. Sure enough there were signs posted in several areas announcing 75% off Calendars AND Planners. I decided I would take advantage of the sale and buy planners for some of my office staff as well. During the 30 minutes we were in the store, we were never greeted, never asked if we needed help, no customer service at all. There were 3 people at the counter and 1 looked like a customer working on a paper project. When I got to the counter to pay for roughly 10 items I was told only 2 were on sale. I let the dark haired cashier know that they were advertised as 75% off. She smiled and said, "I know" and blankly stared out the door. "You know? So can you honor the 75% off? No, perpetual planners are not included. Then you should specify that in your advertising. Can a manager approve the sale? "I am a manager" still staring out the door... The second manager now approached and I mentioned the same. You should really specify on the advertising to which he said "Show me where you got them from". "Only THIS section is on sale." Now other customers chime in that are in the section and says "That's confusing!" I ask again if he can honor it and he says he will honor one, but not all. Hence, the second star because it really was a beautiful planner. When we left the store, my 10 year old said she felt bad how the other cashier was staring at her while I was speaking to the manager. She asked, "is it bad to ask for the manager. Does that make you a Karen? ". Lol. Teaching moment, "Did you think I was rude or disrespectful in any way?" "No, but they looked really angry and the one girl kept looking out the door like she didn't want to be there" Having worked in retail for 10 years, it's so sad when these types of interactions happen. Simply adding "perpetual" planners not included or only "2023" or only this section etc... or being approached once to ask if we needed helped would make it less confusing for customers and a better experience for everyone involved. It's paper source, there are markers everywhere. Be creative and write it in. In a world of iPhone/tech calendars, it's sad that my daughters first experience buying a paper planner at Paper Source was like this.

Here you can find a wide variety of hand-crafted goods. And there is quite a myriad of objects on display. And there's a very large collection of pottery, including bowls, dishes and coffee mugs. This place is an excellent place to shop for those who are intrigued by foreign cultures. And the prices are extremely reasonable. And besides for being reasonable, you can find nice pieces in the under ten dollar range, well into the one hundred and fifty or more. There really is something for any budget. I was greeted when I entered the store and asked if I needed help...but was not asked every five minutes (something that I see as a major plus). Check out was a breeze with the clerk on duty. I will definitely come again.

I didn't intend to buy so much, but I found something for each member of my family and a few friends, too. My favorites were the ornaments, children's area, kitchen items (aprons, dish towels) and the beautiful jewelry!! I had so much fun browsing and I am thrilled with my purchases. Thank you, Laurel! I was fortunate enough to work briefly in the area last year and found this shop on my lunch walk. So many cool gifts, jewelry, etc. I love small shops with unique gifts like this that rotate artists, etc. Kind of hidden on the back streets of old town Pasadena. From now on, I'll always stop by and check if there's (at least) a new card to add to my collection. Don't forget to ask about their "secret stash" of additional cards, too.

Many people who shop in Old Town Pasadena focus on the stores easily accessible from the main street, Colorado. However, some of the shops off the main drag, such as the ones on Holly Street, are unique and fascinating. The two Retreats do share merchandise in common. You will find a bevy of delightful greeting cards, jewelry and candles at both. However, I would strongly encourage you to visit both shops, because each has some items that you won't find at the other location. It was at this shop that I first saw the owner's, Diane, artwork on display. She's made a significant collection of gorgeous, shimmering mandalas. I remember the first time I saw them a couple year ago and I was quite impressed. Since then, you will see more of her mandalas at both Retreat locations, as well as some of the pieces that evolved from her work with these pieces of sacred geometry. Like the other Retreat, this is an excellent gift shop. My stationary drawer is positively overflowing with cards I've bough here. I love shopping at Retreat because I always find something, small or large, that's just right for a friend of mine. Whenever I look through the cards that I've found here I get excited for the right time to send a particular card to a particular friend or family member. It is very easy to find something for any budget. I've found so many fun trinkets, amusing coasters and clever devices to have around the house. And all of these things were around twenty dollars or less. The jewelry, of course, is going to be a bit more pricey, but I feel you are definitely paying for quality. The staff on duty have always been nothing but helpful and friendly. I always enjoy chatting with whoever is minding the store at the moment. Definitely recommend.

As one of the oldest independent bookstores in California, it has a really special charm. Inside, there's a wine bar, a coffee shop, and even a cute gift shop upstairs, which makes it easy to spend a lot of time browsing and relaxing. While I was there, I got to listen to an author present her book and answer questions, which added such a unique and memorable touch to the visit. The store was busy, and you could really feel how much people enjoyed being there. The layout is well organized, making it easy to find books by genre. Upstairs, there's a spacious children's section, which is great for families. I also loved the section featuring Orson Welles books and posters. It was a really cool and unexpected addition.
