This place is so colorful and cute. They have everything you can ever think of gift wrapping and they have the cutest gift wrap paper so unique so different so colorful survivor so pretty they'll wrap it for you as well for a fee, but it comes out perfect the store is so colorful and there's just so much to choose from they have all cute knickknacks, stationary, etc.. Do you ever visit a Paper Source? I can't wrap presents worth a nickel so I've been coming here especially during the holidays. I'm done with stuffing presents in a gift bag so I come here. But wait. There are so many gift box or bag stuffers here that I don't mind buying other sh&$t that makes my present(s) stand out. Not only are the wrapping papers unique, they are stunnifying (LOL). The workers here almost jump at you and super eager to help. What a magical store! I have been going here for years but yesterday I was radiating with energy after stopping by. It is such a wonderful location with such thoughtful staff. What a Fun place to shop if you love old schooled stuff such as papers, pens, cards....etc. Customer service was on point when I visited them a long while ago, so making this a long overdue review. I was hoping they would tell me about their rewards' program, instead I had to find that out by myself which was fine, I guess. I ended up signing up for their rewards' program After my initial purchase, so I wasn't too thrilled. Im still keeping this store at four stars because they displayed some Clearance items the day I shopped here. I was able to find a Kate Spade piece of stationary which I have never seen from their own Outlet store or online. I lucked out on parking that day because I was able to locate meter parking which I made sure didn't expire. Will be back for more fun stuff, but there's room for improvement here. read more

So excited to see this store next to my other favorite store, Free People. Walked in requesting the gift service and the store was pretty empty not one person in sight. I wondered if anyone even worked there, then comes out a gentleman from the back and starts working towards the front and heads to continue working on a gift at the front counter. I approached the man and asked him if there was a wait to get a small gift wrapped and he quickly answered he couldn't wrap the gift today, he was "just too busy" and his suggestion was to buy a gift bag or something else if I was not willing to wait for tomorrow. I wasn't expecting that response so I thanked him and began looking for options. A few minutes go by and he asks to see what I need wrapped. When he saw it was a onesie and a pacifier, he agreed to wrap it in between his orders. Which I appreciated he was willing to be flexible and accommodate my request. On a recommendation from a friend, we drove to this location in Pasadena. My 10 year old wanted her first planner and my friend who is a teacher said, it's a great time to go to Paper Source because they are having a huge sale on calendars and planners. Sure enough there were signs posted in several areas announcing 75% off Calendars AND Planners. I decided I would take advantage of the sale and buy planners for some of my office staff as well. During the 30 minutes we were in the store, we were never greeted, never asked if we needed help, no customer service at all. There were 3 people at the counter and 1 looked like a customer working on a paper project. When I got to the counter to pay for roughly 10 items I was told only 2 were on sale. I let the dark haired cashier know that they were advertised as 75% off. She smiled and said, "I know" and blankly stared out the door. "You know? So can you honor the 75% off? No, perpetual planners are not included. Then you should specify that in your advertising. Can a manager approve the sale? "I am a manager" still staring out the door... The second manager now approached and I mentioned the same. You should really specify on the advertising to which he said "Show me where you got them from". "Only THIS section is on sale." Now other customers chime in that are in the section and says "That's confusing!" I ask again if he can honor it and he says he will honor one, but not all. Hence, the second star because it really was a beautiful planner. When we left the store, my 10 year old said she felt bad how the other cashier was staring at her while I was speaking to the manager. She asked, "is it bad to ask for the manager. Does that make you a Karen? ". Lol. Teaching moment, "Did you think I was rude or disrespectful in any way?" "No, but they looked really angry and the one girl kept looking out the door like she didn't want to be there" Having worked in retail for 10 years, it's so sad when these types of interactions happen. Simply adding "perpetual" planners not included or only "2023" or only this section etc... or being approached once to ask if we needed helped would make it less confusing for customers and a better experience for everyone involved. It's paper source, there are markers everywhere. Be creative and write it in. The closest free parking would be street (but you'll almost never find any on a weekend) or the 90-minute free parking at the lots on Green Street. They offer a variety of greeting cards, stationery, crafts, interesting books, journals, calendars, balloons, and much more. It's perfect for someone who's holding a party or shower. There are pre-made crafts for those who don't want the trouble of making it yourself. For the crafty artists out there, they offer DIY packages and even workshops in the back to teach some simple crafts. The schedule should be on their website. I didn't end up buying anything but this sure was a fun store to explore and get some inspiration. I'd even recommend having a casual date here. I grew up in the era where Papyrus was the Nordstrom of greeting cards. Over the years, Papyrus became less popular... probably around the time the movie Avatar appropriated their font and made everyone associate it with motion capture and Zoe Saldana playing a surprisingly unsexy blue cat monster. The intervening years were hard, mostly cause Hallmark was still around and your choices were either Hallmark or a smattering of indie bookstores and arts and craft shops. Then came Paper Source (if someone from Paper Source comments and says "actually we've been around for like 12 years," then disregard that entire first section). Paper Source has everything you wished Hallmark had and everything you thought Papyrus had, even if they really didn't. It has a ton of great cards, actual funny ones and not ones with George Bush or a shirtless beefcake talking about making your birthday wish come true, like the ones you get at Rite Aid. They also have probably the best selection of gift wrap I've ever seen. It's *color coordinated* in like, gradients, that's how much of it they have. There's even a huge section in the back that's entirely devoted to... I think it's custom stationary(?). I'm not sure. The service is also really good, which yeah, maybe it's not really as important as it is in a restaurant or a massage parlor, but it is still nice. Because at the end of the day, you're buying something that someone created as art (unless you get the little "No. 2 pencils" with the poop on top, then you're not... although, you know, who am I to say that's not art). Paper Source is stationery heaven for those who like to get crafty. Maybe not the best price point for your crafting needs, but I do come here for unique items and for their after holiday clearance. I've purchased a few banners that are of the Paper Source brand and they are very sturdy and can be reused multiple times if you store it properly. The sales associates are friendly and not overly attentive. There is a table at the back of the store with supplies that let you DIY your own card for a fee. I think it was around $8. Not sure if it is a holiday promotion or not but, I think a service like that could be fun for a girls date or something? Paper Source also has a wrapping service as well. Very convenient for special events. This store is awesome, the only downside is finding parking in this area. read more

I needed something wrapped if possible , the lady at the counter said she would have a manager talk to me. The manager came over only to say " we can't do it" , i replied " ok,( I understand" yet he proceeded to give me a long list of why they could not do it and acted like I was bothering them. I bought a box of six thank you cards for over $20 before tax. I got home and realized that even though there should be six cards, there were only five. And when I called the store, just an hour or two after my purchase, I was told the only way I could get any sort of remedy was to go back to the store and handle it in person. They "can't" even look up my purchase by my credit card number. I don't think they even apologized for it. Sorry we overcharged you for a defective item. There are a lot of options for good paper, supplies, crafts, etc...but nothing compares to amazing customer service and that is what this store has. I placed an order online through papersource.com. Due to a shipping issue (still to be resolved), I didn't receive my package with the envelopes needed to send out party invites. I need RSVP's back by a certain date and all of a sudden was on a very tight timeline. I called and emailed papersource.com customer service and was unable to get a confirmed reply back and/or a commitment for a reshipment of product. Thinking quickly, I called Pasadena and they matched my original order, double checked all items, honored the pricing had I received (I had placed my original papersource.com order during a sale), packaged my order and sent it out same day... Not only that, they called to provide me personally with the shipment tracking number and confirmed with the shipper themselves regarding the arrival date. I was in a desperate situation and the team at Pasadena came thru in a huge way - they saved the party! (My daughter's 2nd birthday). When it comes to your event, your craft needs, your gifting needs - definitely give Pasadena a visit (or a call!). i can't believe i haven't reviewed Paper Source yet. it's my favorite spot to look to first when i have a celebration to prepare for. there's a ton of inspiration, and the staff is such a gem of a resource. they truly help you envision and set the tone for your theme with ideas. if you're on a budget they also work with you and give you options. over the years PS has helped me make invites and accessories for my WEDDING, my daughters' high school GRADUATIONS, my prince's first BIRTHDAY... they have stamps, banners, a rainbow of stationery, the cutest stickers and embellishments for thank you notes, party favors.. garlands and banners. they also offer crafty CLASSES. for my WEDDING (almost a handful of years ago) i came here to find something unique. we ended up making custom invites with their gorgeous paper. since we had a budget i used an outside local printer whom PS recommended and we saved hundreds!! for my daughters' graduations i chose from papers and card stock that matched their personalities. we love making POM POMS from their customized colors. so darn pretty!! it's refreshing just to come by and see what's bright for the season. holidays or just summer days... they have the most charming displays and items, whether its for gifting, mother's day, father's day.. or just something to brighten up your space at home or at the office. it's one of my favorite spots to spoil myself too! Upon entering the store, three workers were standing at the front of the store gossiping....not one greeted me, just a look. I was there for the invitations, but since they were too busy gossiping they took 10 minutes to actually take the time to walk to the back of the store and ask if I needed any help. I wonder if management was even around, I'd hate to know one of the three was management. They have red, black, blue, and white bakers twine! 7.95 a ball (see the picture for size - it's a pretty hefty ball!) paper source is always full of cute stuff, i love it! this particular store is at the end (or beginning, depending on how you look at it) of colorado blvd, and it's a fun little stop if you're taking a shopping trip here. i actually stopped here with a goal in mind - bakers twine! i had seen it before, and i have been looking at prices online, but with shipping and everything, the twine was cheaper at paper source. the store is very neatly laid out, and there are multiple displays set up throughout the store, as well as things hanging in all of the walls. they have things like wrapping paper sheets (kind of pricey, around $4 per sheet), rolls of wrapping paper, cards, toys, old fashioned candy, stuffed animals, wedding invitations, stamps, and a lot of other random craft stuff. even if you're not a crafty person, they have stuff that's already pre-made for you, like card kits! i think it's a great place to get gifts for other people - there's a lot of unique random stuff in paper source! prices on their items tend to be pricier, i think mainly because it's an upscale craft store. so that's my only qualm with paper source - if everything were 50% off, i would be buying stuff like crazy, though! parking is also kind of a bummer - you can park at the meters on colorado, or go park in the parking structures on colorado that give you 90 minutes of free parking :) read more

Awesome place to buy paper! They have so many beautiful things. Little knic knacs and paper galore! I usually mosey on back to the 50% off sections cause they always have some good stuff there. I've been buying out their cardstock paper lately for some art projects. Ten 8.5x11 sheets for $3! YEH! There's lot of other cool stuff that makes me want to spend money too and think, "oh, I could totally get into sticker making" or "oh, I want to make a cool scrapbook like that!" (Thanks for the heads up Tragedy D.!) I've been going to Old Town for a long time now and well.. I never knew this place exisited! It's all the way at the end of Old Town strip, closer to the freeway. It's a cute store which sells mainly paper of course. But they also sell birthday cards, scrapbook making materials, etc. The staff is great. Very helpful since I needed suggestions and ideas for my wedding invitation. The woman that help me was patient as I asked her to grab a variety of vellum to look at from the very top shelf. There are street parking (which you have to pay for and can be hard to find availablity). Or you can park in the De Lacey parking garage free for the first 90 minutes (which I think is plenty of time) and it's just a short block walk. Definitely will be back again! read more

So this is the place I got my wedding invitations done at. It's such a cute quaint store in old town Pasadena right next door to urban outfitters. The staff here are very friendly, patient and knowledgeable. There are tables in the back where you can sit and take your time looking at all the albums of ideas for wedding invitations. So many different colors and designs to choose from. So whatever style you may have in mind most likely they will have it. I had pictures from some ideas I was going for with the invitations and they showed me similar styles. I suggest if you have finally decided which style of invitations to go for you need to set up an appointment with one of the workers because it takes time to write down specifically your orders. For example font styles, color theme, and what is to be written on the wedding ceremony invites, RSVP cards, reception etc. etc. of course you want your invitations to be perfect do it really takes time to have the order properly formatted. This took us I believe a good hour to hour an a half. The workers strongly encourage you to set up an appt as well because if not please understand if they are short staffed and need to help others out on the floor the process make take linger than anticipated. Overall such a great experience! This place can be pretty expensive though, but if you let them know what your budget is they are super accommodating and they give you different ideas and options in order for you to stay within your means. This place has an assortment of goodies. Cute knick knacks. You can pretty much personalize anything here. Birthday cards, baby showers, wedding invites or any special occasion. They have envelopes in an assortment of colors. You can have purple or choose from any of the 15 different shades of purple. They have stamps. I also purchased this cool stamp embosser of my home address so instead of putting labels in the top left side of the envelopes I embossed it in the front. Such a cool different idea. read more
