I know it's not selling clothes, but I'm exhausted visiting thrift stores and seeing donated items for 20+. I bought several yards of fabric and some "fill a bag," fabric bits for less than 20 bucks, plus a bunch of odds and ends think ribbons, buttons, buckles, shoelaces. I'm dying to take a class but my brain isn't really good at organizing my life a month ahead, as they typically book out way in advance. I cannot speak more highly of the space and their services they offer. Lastly their staff is incredibly knowledgeable and kind!

There aren't many of these type stores around so I try to patronize Michael's when I can get what I need there.

I can honestly say I have not stopped thinking about stained glass since. Molly was the instructor and she was great. Helpful, attentive, encouraging - everything you'd ever want during your first time. The class was a small group (4 of us) and was so much fun with music playing, conversations, and everyone learning from the instructor and each other. I don't have anything to compare this shop to, but it's small, cozy, and looks to be well stocked with opportunities to take workshop classes. Thank you Molly for a great class and really giving me the confidence to pursue stained glass as a hobby. I look forward to visiting this shop for supplies as I attempt to enter the world of stained class on my own! At Craft Sierra Madre, I can pick up very high quality supplies quickly, chat with the owner, and look around at all of the other things people are doing. So much fun. Craft Sierra Madre also gives lots of classes that I normally would not take like knitting and embroidery. I'm going to take them now!!!! I took an Introduction to Macrame Weaving class last week at Craft. I have been an Art Teacher for…read more10 years and was very excited to learn some new skills to teach the young ones. The class was scheduled for 2 hours. We ended an hour early with an end product that was a bit underwhelming. Our instructor was friendly enough, though never introduced herself nor took the time to ask the class (all 3 of us) our names. I wrote a letter to the owner and never got a response back. Highly unlikely I will return. Below is the letter I sent, including a few other underwhelming aspects to the class: "Hello! I took last evening's Macrame Weaving workshop. As I was driving back to Long Beach last evening after the class, I had some time to reflect on the workshop. I signed up for it to learn a new skill that I could potentially teach my students. (I've been an Art Teacher for many years). Unfortunately, I feel very disappointed with the class as a whole, as well as with our end result product. I believe the owner was there last evening; I regret not having pulled her aside to chat, though I wasn't quite clear on how I felt about the class until I was on my ride home. Our instructor was very friendly and I so appreciate the use of the high quality organic cotton cord. I also appreciated the hand out with the images of various knot styles. However, I don't even know what our instructor's name was. She never introduced herself or asked our names - there were only two other participants besides myself. We ended class nearly an hour early. This feels like a waste of project making and learning time. Either the project we did was too simple or our instructor wasn't thoroughly prepared. Her instruction was okay, though I don't think it is very helpful to physically do something for the student which she did a number of times. I believe it is more helpful to walk them through it verbally while allowing them to do it to experience the motions and acquire muscle memory. Craft is a great space! Picked up my SSD passport and received my first stamp, Bright and spacious shop with all your stationary needs. Great selection of writing/coloring utensils. I'm obsessed with pens so I had to pick one up. A plus on service, always greeted with smiling faces. Everyone was showing a little extra excitement for the SSD activities. I've been here a couple times and will keep coming back.

We had a group outing to lumee for the tufting experience and had so much fun! We booked our…read moreappointment online and found the location very easily. We each found images of what we wanted to create online and were able to trace it onto the canvas. Since it was our first time, we all opted for the small canvas but in retrospect, maybe the medium size would've been easier as the tufting gun is harder to maneuver in smaller sections. The staff was very helpful in providing instructions and staying close by as we worked on our projects. Once we were done, we left our mini rugs to be picked up another day since the staff would put the backing on for us and clean up any loose ends and such. Definitely looking forward to coming back and making an even bigger piece!

Initial Impression: I have heard of Lumee before due to its previous locations, but I never had the chance to visit. I just so happened to have extra time in Pasadena so couldn't resist stopping in. This shop in Arcade Lane opened recently and it is situated in a cozy area near Urth Cafe. It is bright, colorful, and hard to miss. The perfect place to draw in lovers of all things Kawaii. Service: the shops man is the absolute sweetest and not only took time to explain the concept of the shop, but he also showed all the artwork and some of his own work! The Mahjong bag is so impressive! Lumee offers tufting for carpets and supplies the tools. They also offer decoden cases, trinkets, hair clips, bags, and more! Locations have a variety of different experiences so check ahead! Overall: I was able to make a trinket for around $8! It can also be upgraded to a magnet and you can walk-in if you want to! They offer group experiences as well, and I think it would be cute for a date too. I really can't want to go again!
