The old boss lady looked at me like I have no money or I'll steal her pots and pans. She followed me isle to isle. She howlered to me "Hey! You take my things outside no come for return!". Omg, is that how she says hello to her customer? I picked out the stuffs my girlfriend sent me here, came to the counter to pay and off course the same grouchy lady helped me. Again, the rudeness just oozed out from her mouth " You don't come back for return understand!". That was it, I just left a bunch of things on her counter and walked out. I needed restaurant equipment for my startup business and found Chef Essentials, a local company…read morethat sells both new and used equipment. I wanted to support a local business while saving some money, but looking back, I should have spent more and purchased new equipment somewhere else. Mark, one of the owners, helped us purchase several big-ticket items, including a single-door Cooker & Cooler freezer. I now believe we paid far more than the unit was worth, but the price is not even the biggest issue. Only five or six months after purchasing it, the freezer began having problems. Before the sale, Mark assured us that if we ever had an issue with the freezer, he would personally come out and take care of it. He did come by to inspect the unit and told us he would order the necessary part. After that, we never heard from him again. We reached out several times but received no response. My advice is to learn from my mistake. Saving a few dollars on used equipment is not worth it when the seller does not stand behind the equipment or honor the promises made during the sale.
