Insane Prices are Growing here at Five Below, Alhambra. Used to be at least $5.25 then went up to $7.00!!! WTH!! That's insane! At least $6.00 and NOT $7.00

Want cool cheap items? Want to entertain your kids? Want to buy some not so important items even if u lose or if it breaks? Want candy? Cheap make up? Snacks? All here! Ok now the negatives...... there was a looonnngg line Like 10 customers deep. They chose to open ONE register. they also have 7 or 8 self check outs with ugly signs that says register closed. Why even build them? Ok so then one do the staff opened a self check out line. But she rings you up. Manually. Like you r about to steal. Oh wait To top it off, she helps u answer the survey and puts a 9 out of 10, when she never asked me for my opinion. Not only the employee is lying to their head quarters, that is just deceitful. I will report this to their HQ. That front of store check out process is so poorly ran.... It's insane they get away with it. Plus the guest survey.. I'm not ok with that BS

I stumbled onto Five Below long ago when they first opened. I bought quite a few t-shirts as they had a lot of Marvel licensed shirts back then. As far as 'dollar' stores go, they are pricier than the Daisos/Dollar Trees but they have a different mix of products with the $5 below model so it's worth checking out. Lots of candy to choose from as well as a lot of t-shirts still for $5. They also have quite a bunch of mobile phone accessories and toys now. Inventory can fluctuate so come often and see what's in store.

Any trip to Gallery Nucleus is an excuse to stop by this 5 Below location. It's opened pretty late and there's lots of fun miscellaneous things to shop for. Just know that even though it's called 5 Below, not everything here is under $5 (but still pretty affordable in my opinion). They got some cute mini Squishmallows that are $5.95. Loved that since these retail for much more at other places and they have a good variety of them (any time Aldi has them they're usually already bought out and there's a lack of Squishmallow biodiversity at other stores I've been to as well). There are affordable t-shirts, items for pets, beauty and skincare goods, board games, books, phone accessories, and plethora of so many snacks. Just know that stock can be variable (shirt sizes, only 1 bag of a certain type of chip, etc.). They have an anime section but it's pretty small. Some series they carry merch for (stickers, shirts, posters) are My Hero Academia, Ouran High School Host Club, Demon Slayer, Black Clover, etc.). Glad there's affordable anime merch for the newer generation of fans out there when it was much more pricier and difficult to obtain in the past.

Sunscreen on the shelves are past the expiration date. Check expiration dates of all other products that have expiration dates.

In general this store is great. HOWEVER, be sure to check the expiration date on items that have expiration dates like makeup, food, etc. I bought sunscreen yesterday and the sunscreen they are selling is past the expiration date and therefore no longer effective. See photo. Unfortunately, sunscreen does expire and once past the expiration date, no longer effective. So putting this on will result in a sunburn.

I got this for $5 ... I thought it was a squirrel. They also have other cute animals

This place is way too convenient for me to spend my money on cheap pet supplies/clothing/facial care items/food/etc and come home with a bunch of random stuff that I probably don't need. Be careful to not grab a ton of items or else you'll end up at the cashier with every item at $5 until the total comes out to be like $300 ... Anyways this place has a variety of stuff that you might not need but want to have. It has a lot of kid toys and items as well. The staff are friendly and don't act as if they hate their job.

Returned expired Slim Jim's dated May 2023 We are in the middle of October 2023

This location is selling expired food. Upon return the young lady states that it never happens. Clearly it happens! Someone isn't doing their job!!! This store clearly isn't being inspected by management. Slim Jim's expired May 2023 we are in the middle of October 2023

She and I had so much fun seeing all of the party items! We were quite excitable while walking through the store! Haha! Party Central | The drinkware was so colorful & fun: cups that gave ocean blue mermaid vibes, fun palm trees, neon cameras, a variety of fruit, and so much more! There were even cute little paper straws with cute paper animal decorations! There were colorful plates, party, platters, colorful pitchers & more cute items that make you want to have a party! Fun! Fun Items | There were so many pretty gift bags, journals, and pens! I even spotted funny flavors of canned coffees including Snickers, Twix & Cinnamon Toast Crunch! Haha! I don't drink coffee at all, but it was interesting to see! Inside | Huge store, both the neat and tidy, and a huge parking lot! Sighting | We got to meet a cute little dog who had on a jersey! Maybe he wasn't the friendliest at first, but when I placed my hand basket down, kneeled down in my dress, & he saw the snacks in my basket, his attitude changed quickly! He suddenly wanted to be my best friend! Hahaha! Music Unites in the Parking Lot | While excitedly chatting about going to see the Michael Jackson movie, we met a woman in the parking lot! She was so much fun to talk to, as she had fun stories to tell about actually being at actual Michael Jackson concerts! We also met a guy who told us about some of the filming of the new Michael Jackson movie! Imagine that! Overall | What a fun stop & a great way to spend time before having a few minutes away to see the movie!

Anyway, we looked over and saw dustpans. I've been wanting to buy a new dustpan because the old one was damaged when I had to use it to shovel snow a few weeks back when the high desert had a snowstorm. Yes, you read right... I used a dustpan to shovel snow (1st time shoveling snow + using a dustpan to do it) LOL... it wasn't too bad actually. One gray dustpan was $4.49 + tax... not too shabby and it's the sturdy type, too. I didn't check out any other items in the shop, but from what I can tell, they do have some nifty knick knacks, small appliances, general household stuff, etc. It doesn't have a lot of space for customers to walk around though... there are only 2 aisles really... the one closest to the entrance and the one on the other side of the wall LOL. I grabbed one dustpan, waited in line (wait wasn't too bad), and paid cash for it. The lady at the cashier was pleasant. She may have been the owner... not 100% sure though. If you happen to be hanging out at the food court, swing on by and see what fun stuff you can pick up from here. Happy Shopping!

Great for getting specific asian appliances that are difficult to find on Amazon or other big-chain appliance stores like Best Buy etc. They also sell a lot of little tiny tools, such as cookware etc. Feels kind of like Daiso. Overall, a pretty neat place to visit and check things out!

The aisles were too crowded. I had a walker. My friend, in a wheelchair, had a difficult time managing. Something got caught on his wheelchair, and it wouldn't let go. Finally, my friend is a wounded veteran. That's why he uses a wheelchair. He rarely uses his benefits card. He had asked the day before the benefits worker about the parameter of card usage. The worker didn't explain that his card was only for FOOD. He had an exorbitant amount of credit, but it could only be used for food. At the check out, the white woman must have known the rule, because she bagged the food separately from the non-food. She shamed him for making a long line. Maybe had we been white-not me black and female and him Vietnamese and male-disabled or if I had had sex that time, then maybe she would have been respectful. I'm the daughter of a deceased veteran and my friend in the wheelchair, wounded from the war in Iraq. She should try harder. Oh, yes, she was the only one of the staff that was proficient in English. Had the business truly been accommodating, there would have been more space for wheelchairs and walkers. Also, a sitting area for elders and disabled would be there. Finally, common courtesy may go a long way.

Sad day that Daiso is like $2.25 for items now, but le sigh, tis the society we live in. Sometimes things in certain aisles, like the storage, oshikatsu, stationery aisle are shoved everywhere and not as organized, but if they don't have a lot of staff, I can see why this wouldn't be a priority. They have self check out. Sometimes I've been here where the AC is barely on or not all of the lights are on, which is pretty funny, but not overly detrimental.

Besides the fact that San…read moreGabriel is a super busy street that backs up with traffic, if you decide to buy a bigger item that needs to be picked up from their back warehouse, you have easier access to get in, instead of circling your car around the block. The prices here, in-person can be better and even more discounted than on their website, depending on what inventory they need to clear out. There are lots of chairs, like office chairs, gaming chairs, dining chairs, bar stools, that you can get for a really, really, REALLY good price. I'm not gonna say they're the best quality, but I think it's perfect if you need to quickly furnish a place on a budget, ie - a college student needing a desk, chair, etc for a dorm or an apartment. I would say, try sitting on the stuff in store before you buy to test it's durable enough for your usage. You have to imagine that stuff this cheap is built as mail-order stuff for skinny Asians. I picked up a side table that's lasted the better part of a year, so far. I was SUPER tempted to get a fluffy cat tree for $20. Some cool selection of outdoor furniture. And even some random household things, like a clothes steamer. The thing is, I get the sense that their inventory is rather randomized. But I think you'll find some cool deals or something useful for a bargain if you take stroll and walk around. Their pricing puts a lot of other "outlet" warehouse furniture stores to shame.

The room is pretty big so thought there was going to be a lot of good stuff. Looking around the place it became quickly apparent that this stuff is really just overstock stuff. Sitting in the chairs and feeling the fabric of the furniture you can tell the quality is somewhat lower which is reflected in the prices. After walking around for a few minutes we decided to leave. The prices are good but the stuff just seems disposable. Like you just replace them every year. We just didn't find anything worthwhile and the social media post was obviously an exaggeration and just had to pass. Only go if you want low prices over quality. But we had to pass.
