I've been to this location twice now, and if I were to rate it based on my first experience I'd probably give it a four star, but given my experience this last weekend I'm gonna knock it down to 3 (knowing I'll be back because my husband really enjoys it so I may end up updating my review!) On Saturday, I ordered the honey butter shrimp tacos with rice and beans. It comes with tacos that they LOAD up. Which was actually part of the issue... they partially wrapped the tacos in tin foil and load all the toppings up, so when I went to go pick up the taco it completely fell apart. So instead of tacos I had a honey butter shrimp bowl with 2 soft shells on the side. I just personally was not a fan of the flavor of the shrimp either. My husband on the other hand actually get the bowl (grilled chicken) and ate every last bite! We also ordered the chips and guacamole/salsa which was tasty. Overall service and cleanliness of this place is great. Only other slight downside is it's really tight parking spots. In the summer the outside patio is a great touch! Considering my husband likes it and its proximity to a lot of activities we do, I'm sure we'll be back in which at that point I'll update my review. read more

Ordered ahead today early, picked up at drive thru. Got 2 grilled chicken salads, lettuce was wilted and pieces were brown the guacamole was brown. The dressing was extremely runny, I can't believe the level of quality, it has went to an all time low. I paid over $30 dollars for 2 small salads, soooo disappointing!!!! I have been eating here for over five years and this is the busiest fast casual restaurant in the area. They always have 10 cars in the drive-thru and full inside. They are so busy because they always deliver a hot and fresh product every time! They move the drive-thru and inside line quickly like well oiled machine. Clean, inviting, and always busy when I'm there. We usually stop in on Friday nights. The parking is ok, never couldn't get a spot. Even tables are plentiful when it's busy. The line doesn't move fast but it's worth the wait. Love the enchiladas and their salads. Love the freshly made tortillas! read more

I used to love coming to this location because the food and customer service was really good. They always listened well and gave me what I ordered..until recently. First I ordered a sweet pork burrito with no beans just on the side. They gave me a burrito the size of those small frozen ones you can buy in a pack of 12 for half the price of what they charged me. They gave me no rice or beans on the side either..I went again today thinking maybe they had a trainee or someone was tired or something that day. So I ordered one single taco with just no cheese on it and no beans on the side..they didn't give me and pico or lettuce and put barely any meat on it..im hoping they fix this problem because costa Vida used to be my favorite place to eat and now I feel like they're just taking my money. read more

I was introduced to Costa Vida years ago, the first time I visited Boise. And it has stuck in my head for years cuz I liked it so much. My runner up that is close to this place is Café Rio, since Costa Vida is not in CA or WA. So of course we had to make a stop here while in town! I want to say I might like Costa Vida a tiny bit more than Café Rio because they offer different sizes! Café Rio only offers one large salad size. My go to: - Sweet Barbacoa Salad with the house cilantro ranch dressing I feel like the meat flavor and dressing are very similar to Café Rio. Food: ordered a sweet pork salad for my wife. There was a couple strings of pork in the salad. Basically no meat. Costa Veda use to be one of our favorite meals. We had this same thing at the Eagle location. We thought we would try it again. Don't think we will ever be back. Very poor food for the lack of almost no meat. Service is good and location is good. We don't go to Costa Vida too often, but when we do, it's this location as it's closer to where we live. The food is always fresh and delicious, and the prices are reasonable. Our family of 4 stopped in here on Monday about 45 minutes to closing, and ordered a full meal, drinks and dessert. Admittedly we were probably annoying as customers - all of us talking, indecisive, asking a bunch of questions, just all over the place. But the staff here rolls with it, makes sure you know your choices, explains the different between beans, answers questions, etc. It seems like they have a lot of staff on hand (which is better than being noticeably short-staffed). The food was delicious, they give you plenty of food, and free drink refills. I wish some sour cream came included with the meal, but any sour cream costs extra. Their key lime pie is REALLY good, their flan is a little less firm than I would like it to be, but it's still pretty good - both with a significant about of cream on top. The horchata wasn't very good and I don't remember that from past visits. It was weak/watered down, so I dumped it and got a soda instead. Still a fan though. read more

We have eaten at the one in Eagle several times. The food was always good, and the staff was nice. It is hard for mento give five stars to fast food but I believe they could easily be a four star restaurant. The company advertises earning points by scanning receipts to get discounts on meals. Every time I have gone inside to the restaurant in the Eagle Island shopping center I am unable to use my points because they do not have Wifi. This should be corrected since I have been able to redeem points at the restaurants on Eagle Road, in Meridian, and the one in Downtown Boise. read more

I'm so excited to finally have a Costa Vida so close to home!! Tonight, this location had a special event for all of the contractors and their families to come in and eat. It served as a thank you to the contractors for all of their hard work and as a training for their employees. The event started at 5pm and was scheduled to go until 7pm. We arrived around 6:15 and it was packed! The line almost went to the door, but Costa Vida had all hands on deck and the line moved quickly. The owners and managers were walking around and talking to everyone in line & thanking them for helping make this location a reality. When I got to the counter to place my order they had plenty of people available to make the food & get it out quickly. The station was well stocked & all of the ingredients looked fresh. The station was also very clean! Our order: 2-sweet pork nachos Sweet pork burrito 2-Sweet pork salads All of our food was delicious! No complaints whatsoever! The food looked as good as it tasted & it was made with a smile. The location opens tomorrow, February 27th at 10:30am!! I can't wait to go back! read more

What I appreciate about this Costa Vida location is that the food and service are always consistent. Ordering at the drive-through is super fast. It's easy to order online as well. I also always know what I'm going to get and the orders are always correct. This also is perhaps the only restaurant in town that can package nachos to go without them becoming a soggy mess. In this covid-19 world safe sanitary practices for takeout are very important and this restaurant has been so good about it well continuing to provide fresh wonderful Mexican food! Boy, posting a negative review on Yelp really works when I couldn't get a response otherwise. The corporate Costa Vida customer service finally got back to me and made everything right. They gave me the points back that I lost. Their old rewards system wouldn't recognize me, and I couldn't create a new account (because that name was already taken). I now have a new reward app account. But I wish it hadn't been so much of a hassle, and I wish they had responded to my inquiry earlier. I also wish their policy of only having twenty-four hours to transfer points from the old app to the new one was abolished, when their new app management company (Spendgo) says they can't get back to you for 3-5 days. read more

I have loved Costa Vida for many years and I really enjoyed having this new location so close to my home. I always get a chicken salad and chips with queso with zero complaints about the quality of food. I, however, have two babies in diapers and have come to realize that this location does not have a changing table in at least one of their two unisex restrooms. The second restroom was occupied and after waiting over 15 minutes for it to be empty, I gave up and changed my infant in my vehicle. There's no indication on their bathroom signs that they are family restrooms or include infant changing tables so I'm fairly confident I would have been out of luck even if the second restroom was open. As a mom who regularly has upwards of 4 children in tow, it isn't feasible to patronize a business that does not invest a few measly hundred dollars in a safe and sanitary location to change our babies. read more
