Stopped into The Blind Monk before meeting friends downtown and ended up ordering the strawberry…read morebruschetta and avocado toast while sitting at the bar. The bartender was easy to talk to and gave a couple suggestions without making it feel like a sales pitch. Both dishes came out pretty quickly even though the place started filling up during happy hour. The bruschetta had a nice mix of sweet and savory, and the avocado toast was fresh without being overly dressed up. I liked the overall pace of the service since nobody rushed me to order more once I finished eating. It felt like a comfortable place to unwind for a bit instead of a loud crowded spot where you're trying to leave right away.

Service was also very slow, even when it wasn't busy. Everything took longer than expected and seemed disorganized. On top of that, the bartender was rude and unwelcoming. I was also charged for another person's drink without being asked or informed; which was unacceptable and felt careless. The staff seemed "blind" to how to properly run a restaurant. For the prices being charged, I expected much better food, service, and attention to detail. Unfortunately, I will not be returning.

Beautiful ambiance at both the bar and in the dining room. We only had one drink. There was barely…read moreanyone there while we were there, but the music was still blasting. I think it would have been slightly more enjoyable if the music matched the nice atmosphere, but I think they were trying to transition to more of a nightclub vibe. It's definitely on the pricier side, but the bar staff was nice! The whole time we were there, they were making tons of their signature "Hotshots" (hot espresso layered with vanilla liqueur and whipped cream). We didn't try one this time, but they seemed to be the go-to drink because we saw so many people ordering them. The smell of espresso was amazing! I'd definitely come back for a nice occasion or date night. A little pricey, but the ambiance makes it feel like a special-occasion kind of place!

It was definitely not packed for a Thursday night on clematis but it's also off season and we were promptly seated when we got there. I made a reservation but you definitely don't need one. Our waitress immediately brought us water and was able to take all of our orders all the food and drinks came out super fast. I did ask for my salad dressing on the side which wasn't done which is why I'm taking off one star but that's ok. It did end up getting a bit loud once we were about to head out around 9PM so we couldn't hear each other but definitely more people started to come in. All in all we all paid about $30 each for this special which is not bad at all since it included a drink and very good portion sizes. That blackened chicken was divine and so flavorful!

OTC is a truly stand-up, customer-forward restaurant where the entire staff is passionate about every customer having a divine evening in their care. Every detail behind the design of the beautifully moody room, staff wardrobe, menu creation, staff training has clearly been lovingly and painstakingly crafted. And it all delivered a wonderfully satisfying experience -- one which we can't wait to have again soon! Caesar Salad, Ceviche, Short Rib, Burger, Half Chicken and their AMAZING fries dazzled us all! The cocktails were wonderful as well. Kudos to Horace and his amazing team! We absolutely LOVE Off The Clock!

Saw rave reviews on Off the Clock and finally got the chance to visit…read more We could tell the really put a lot of work into cultivating an experience. We made reservations and received a call with information about the restaurant, dress code, parking instructions, etc. Definitely a unique touch and something I hadn't seen before. The DJ spinning records behind the bar created such a fun atmosphere. He went from reggae, to 80's, 90's, and contemporary throughout the night, which was cool. We started with their version of an old fashion (forget the name) and the passion fruit mocktail. The old fashion was delicious. The mocktail was ok, very syrupy. We ordered the ceviche and beet salad. The beet salad was original, innovative, and delicious. Ceviche was very good but tasted a little fishy. We decided to split the short rib entree. It was very good (8.75/10). Maybe a little sweet for my taste but a solid dish paired with a tamarind sauce and garlic mashed potatoes. We had the carrot cake for dessert and it was solid as well. The wait felt a little long from the bar and the kitchen to get our food and drink, but we were willing to overlook. The owner was very kind and warmly introduced himself. We may return for a drink and to hear the music in the future!
