Saw rave reviews on Off the Clock and finally got the chance to visit. We could tell the really put a lot of work into cultivating an experience. We made reservations and received a call with information about the restaurant, dress code, parking instructions, etc. Definitely a unique touch and something I hadn't seen before. The DJ spinning records behind the bar created such a fun atmosphere. He went from reggae, to 80's, 90's, and contemporary throughout the night, which was cool. We started with their version of an old fashion (forget the name) and the passion fruit mocktail. The old fashion was delicious. The mocktail was ok, very syrupy. We ordered the ceviche and beet salad. The beet salad was original, innovative, and delicious. Ceviche was very good but tasted a little fishy. We decided to split the short rib entree. It was very good (8.75/10). Maybe a little sweet for my taste but a solid dish paired with a tamarind sauce and garlic mashed potatoes. We had the carrot cake for dessert and it was solid as well. The wait felt a little long from the bar and the kitchen to get our food and drink, but we were willing to overlook. The owner was very kind and warmly introduced himself. My girlfriend had shared this restaurant on my Instagram feed a couple of days ago. Given the exquisite ambiance, drinks, and menu; I decided I would take her with me on Friday to give this place a shot! Going in, the restaurant had a beautiful vinyl speakeasy miami style esthetic to it and had classic smooth hits playing in the background. For dinner tonight we ordered 1x Jerk cubano with seasoned fries and 1x roasted salmon with a side order of the roasted Brussels sprouts. Moving on with my review, the food tonight was very tasty, but I feel there was room for some tweaks/improvement. The Jerk Cuban bread was perfectly pillowy yet crispy, and the mojo pork was incredibly tender, flavorful, and moist. However, given the high price tag, the sandwich felt a bit flat and could use more of the shredded pork. The fries were nicely crispy, and the seasoning had this swicy brown sugar jerk flavor to it. The Roasted Salmon had been soft and flakely in the inside while the skin was nicely crisped. I enjoyed the brightness of the fennel and the butter sauce, but I believe some lemon would've added some great acidity and brightness needed in the dish. The Brussels sprouts had a nice char and came with an addictive, creamy aioli. They were however a tad bitter and a bit too al dente for my taste, but I still really enjoyed them. Moreover, the service tonight was very friendly and attentive. Overall, despite my critiques, we did enjoy dinner and definitely the atmosphere. Stepping into Off The Clock is like walking into a dinner party at your coolest friend's hipster apartment in Brooklyn, in the best way, and I absolutely love it. The vibes are upscale and it feels like the coolest living room bar restaurant lounge ever. Across the two floors and expansive space, there are intimidate tables, cozy couches, bar stools, books, art made in house, and knickknacks galore. There's great music, often played on vinyl to complete the ambiance. The service is fantastic, with friendly servers and staff around to greet, check in on you, and make sure you're having a fantastic time. The owner Horace is a pretty amazing guy, very personable, and extremely passionate about what he does. But it's not just vibes, the food is fantastic. There's a nice mix of options on the smaller menu, and everything is extremely flavorful. Some things lean to the spicier side, but not too much to be painful or overwhelming. Their cocktail program is fantastic, and the old fashioned had notes of banana and walnut which really elevated it. And the prices are extremely reasonable for what you get. First time here after hearing good things from friends and family. Loved the ambience, looks like a great place for date night. However, I don't think it's ideal for catching up with friends because the music (which selection -wise was excellent) could get quite loud. We didn't order any apps, so I can't speak on those. I did enjoy my cocktail (a tequila and mezcal concoction ) but forgot the name. I split the tamarind short ribs and the OTC Caesar salad with a friend. I thought both choices were good, but did not taste the tamarind flavor at all and the short ribs portion was small for the price. The salad had a kick because of the scotch bonnets and tear drop peppers, and I loved the use of bread fruit for croutons; it was an interesting spin on a Caesar salad. There is a Caribbean influence in the entire menu, a nod to the owner's origins. We finished with the carrot cake which was delicious and big enough to split between our group of three. The plain chips were a great addition, especially the sweet ones 10 out of 10. My entree was the short ribs and it was so so good. It comes with a small side of mashed potatoes but honestly it's going to fill you up, no need to get another side. My friend got the half chicken and that does not come with sides but had it with Mac and cheese and it was delicious. The sauce with the chicken is amazing. Stopped in on Saturday night with a few friends - which we didn't make reservations however we were able to get a spot at the bar. This spot is a French & Caribbean fusion with a space for creatives and lovers of a curated vibe. For my cocktail I got the Lovely Day. This drink is a tequila, mezcal based drink with a blend of sweet and smoky. I really enjoyed this to sip on throughout the night. If you that's your vibe - definitely try this. For food, I got the chicken sandwich which came with fries. The chicken sandwich had a zesty mayo with a slaw which was really good. The sandwich was fried to perfection and very crispy. However, there wasn't much seasoning from the chicken itself. The flavor came from the other ingredients on the sandwich. The fries was presented in this martini brass glass which was cute! The fries were seasoned to perfection, and were fresh! My friends had to get their food to go because it took so long for the kitchen to get it out to us even though we all ordered at the same time. Wow where do i start? This establishment is black owned and they know what they're doing. From the hostess at the front door to our waitress Stephanie being so attentive and kind! I haven't experienced such amazing customer service and food in a while! The owner was also so kind and greeted us upon arrival and departure. We had a 5 pm reservation and was seated promptly, the restaurant is dark with small lamps on each tablet that created the right vibes and aesthetic for girls night or even a date night. The moment you walk in, the place has an incredible vibe! It's a bit dark, but lit just enough to enjoy the night exactly as it was meant to be. Wow. Totally blown away by the super cool, Latin Americas rebellion vibes taking place in Fort Worth Florida. Aside from the berets and the Che Guavara atmosphere throughout (which I personally loved) the service was just incredible. I had four different people fill my glass of water and ask me how everything was - like their heart hung on the answer. The crowd was a nice mix of ages and cultures, which is a little rare for a bar and refreshing. Not just sitting around, but really in the moment. Everything was flavorful, fresh, and clearly prepared with care. The atmosphere was one of my favorite parts. They had a vinyl DJ spinning music, which created the perfect vibe. The lighting was dim and intimate, making it feel romantic without being stuffy. It had the feel of a stylish living-room lounge--comfortable, inviting, and sophisticated. The music was lively enough to enjoy and even dance to if you wanted, but not so loud that you had to yell across the table to have a conversation. After dinner, moved over to the bar area which is the highlight of OTC. The all vinyl DJ setup is really something special. Being from Boston, there are several vinyl bars and lounges, but not any in South Florida (unless you want to trek to Miami). The DJ (Darren on the night I was there) was AMAZING. Our hostess kept that same elite energy, welcoming, sharp, and knew the menu like the back of her hand. We kicked things off with the jerk wings and cod fritters in creole sauce. Presentation? Top-tier. Taste? Chef's kiss. For the main event, I went for the half chicken and chickpea rice. It hit that rare sweet spot of being perfectly seasoned and moist, giving home-cooked vibes but with professional finesse. My wife got the salmon and Caesar salad and because she's a legend, she actually let me snag a bite. We capped it off with a drink that can only be described as PURE. No other word for it. Balanced, blended, and a total mood. It's rare to find a spot where the aesthetics actually match the flavor profile, but they nailed it. And the music? Come on. I would recommend reservations rather than walk in but this is perfect for a date night or catching up with friends vibe. They did a beautiful job on the decor and details for the interior. All the staff is very welcoming and the menu is very curated. I shared two smaller plates the beet salad and the wings which were both excellent. Let it be know that the wings are very very spicy but cooked perfectly. The owner did say if you get the dry rub it's a little less spicy and they can also do half dry and have glaze if you want. The beet salad was delicious the only thing that I felt could make it even better would be a crunch of some sort to break the textures of everything being mushy. The flavor was incredible and I loved the dish but I think maybe even adding crushed pistachios to pull through the notes from the pistachio cream on the bottom would make it even next level. Definitely will be back when I'm the area. I only had one cocktail on the menu which I felt was a bit watery but I assumed it is because they did a split base with the gin/vodka and the sake in it.
