Stumbled across this place from Crux and am happy I did! A classic millennial, dog-friendly, outdoors hot spot. They have benches and misters in their garden, where most of their seating is located. If it is rainy, there isn't much inside seating. They do have a patio and attached to the garden is a mini food park. In this area it's a bit more dense, so finding a nice open spot like Cosmic is such a treat. They've got a cute as hell building with a front porch. Some chickens in a coop. Koi in a pond. Fire pits with wonderful seating. Food trucks with a variety of options to keep everyone happy. The coffee is solid. The cocktails are not going to blow your mind, but they're solid. I'm embarrassed. We're all about coffee and South Austin, and we missed this place. It's been open for a year. That being said, we have to apologize to Radio Coffee. We've decided to take on a second steady. The coffee is fantastic, and the venue is huge. Tons of outdoor space, with two large water features, fire pits, tables, etc. Three trailers. A Mexican food trailer that also has breakfast. The tacos were delicious. A BBQ trailer that opens at 11, and a chicken wing trailer that also opens later. At least 24 taps, which are all local brews, except for a few standard non craft beers. While the outside is huge, the inside is still pretty spacious. Service was fast. Lots of outdoor space that is socially distanced and staff sanitize tables in-between guests. Not too sure if it's 21+ after a certain time, but this is a great pet friendly spot for adults. I've been in Austin 10 years and never knew this place existed. It's hidden! It's behind Congress! As soon as we walked up though I could feel the pulse and I thought "pandemic, schandemic" there were people everywhere. When we went in to order of course you had to have a mask on but there was a lot of outdoor seating and even food trucks! I tried this kombucha cocktail and it was delicious. They offer a wide open space, good food, good drinks, plenty of tables, misting fans, and even waterfalls in the background! Pets are allowed, kids currently are not. (This review is for Feb 2018-Dec 2019) While living in Austin, this was my number one hang out spot. I lived about 5 minutes away so the location was ideal (though I will admit getting OUT of the street can be nearly impossible sometimes.) There is SO MUCH OUTDOOR SPACE! You have waterfalls, lights, firepits, tables, chairs, picnic tables--an assortment of every kind. The food trucks residing there are all incredible and go perfectly with any drink you get. My favorite was always The Dark Cide. Honestly, most bars in Austin were pretty over-priced so that didn't bother me. I was a regular and enjoyed the many events and activities held there. I'm obviously not sure what's going on now, but I would frequent the little market set up in the back on certain days of the month, and enjoyed live artistry (multiple painters) on other days. Always something going on. What I loved was, depending on the day of the week, you could go for an intimate date to talk the night away in a secluded corner, or go on another day when it's filled to the brim with an eclectic crowd. Adorable place on the south end of town. I stumbled upon this place with a friend on a chilly spring night and after grabbing a cup of golden chai, I settled in by one of the fire pits in a large wooden Adirondack chair. Periodically, the fire was stoked and the firewood replenished by a log carrying bearded fellow. The warm glow of globe lights danced overhead and my buddy and I recounted our dating misadventures and caught up on each other's lives. The evening was perfection, although Mother Nature could have turned up the thermostat a degree or two, but cool nights like this are a rarity, so I shan't complain.
