We were in the market to buy a new Toyota and visited them last month. Not impressed and a bit annoyed to be honest. After going back and forth with Mr. Hillman, we decided to do the driving from Denver. When we were on our way, I gave him a heads up as we had agreed and he asked if it was possible to meet 30 minutes later than our ETA. We arrived exactly at the suggested time and not only we never got to meet him because he was "busy," they made us wait an additional 45 minutes until finally somebody helped us out. They lowballed us on the trade-in quote...and thank goodness they did. They had the audacity to shave $1,000 off the trade-in estimate since there was a "noise" underneath the car. They had it a good amount of time but seems like they didn't even care to check. What was it? A loose bolt by the exhaust that Subaru charged me ZERO to fix. Cherry on top? They lured us with a quote that showed an additional $1,000 discount on the vehicle but it was never noted that we had to finance through them. We ended up buying from a local dealership and saved ourselves a good chunk of money. People from Denver, save yourselves the trip. We visited every dealerships between Boulder & Denver and with the exception of one (read the reviews), you are better off buying from any local one. A few days later, their General Manager sent me an email asking how they "missed the mark." I replied airing my issues..2 weeks and still waiting for a response. Yeah...NOT impressed. read more

My Camery would stall at a stop, so I took it in to their shop. They told me it was a bad battery connection, I told them that was not the issue and they insisted it was, so I told them to go ahead and repair it. After they installed a new battery connection and $221.00 my car stalled one block from the dealer. When I called to let them know it didn't repair the car, they offered nothing. read more

The service department is disorganized, chaotic, and uncommunicative. I dropped my 2022 Rav4 Prime in for its 10k service at 7:15am. I left it there and received a text around noon stating that it was ready to be picked up. When I arrived at 4:00 pm (9 hours later) , the service department had no record of what I needed. Jeffrey Freedman told me they "dropped the ball" and hadn't even looked at my car. I asked why I received a text that it was complete and he wasn't sure. Additionally, he told me they could "get it in quickly and it would be next." 20 minutes later they drove my car to the front to be picked up. I was sent away with an invoice but NO inspection report printed and highly doubt my car was able to be examined with any detail in 20 minutes. Jeffrey Freedman told me they were "short staffed" and told me how many people had called in, which frankly, didn't seem appropriate to me. Continuing to manage their customers and business with this limited level of professionalism will not be sustainable. read more

Service was excellent, I appreciate that they offer a package for oil and tire rotations. On another note, they have an enormous cooler in their lobby full of single use plastic water bottles. Beside it, is a nearly empty plastic recycle bin. During my 1 hour in the waiting room, I saw 4 Dealership employees go up take a cold water bottle and begin to drink it. I saw no guests take a plastic water bottle. I saw multiple guests and 1 employee take advantage of their filtered "water bottle " water fountain, also located in the lobby. It's surprising to me that people whom are stationed at this location for 8 plus hours a day choose to use single use plastics over refilling their own water bottles, or paper recyclable cups. A very special Thank you to the one service man whom I saw refill his water bottle! I did attempt to communicate my thoughts to the 2 available managers.... however on each of their desks were partially used single use plastic water bottles. They were very polite and heard my concerns, yes it felt awkward. It's so important that we ALL start standing up for the environment, and it needs to start with each of us. We made the mistake of purchasing a 2005 Lexus from this dealership. What seemed like a good deal has turned out to be a poor decision. Three years into buying the car we've had to put over $1500 of work into it because of after market parts failing and causing damage to the vehicle. It could have been over $2500 but luckily we fought tooth and nail for an issue with the alternator. They were not upfront about a warranty that we purchased for the car. The warranty hasn't covered anything. When we bought the car we were told that everything is great on it and that the previous owner took great care of the car after they ran the inspection. Since one of the issues was the brakes, they didn't care to tell us that they were aftermarket because it would have cost them money to fix it. What's sad is we as the consumer trusts dealerships to be upfront and honest without having to ask millions of questions in order to get the truth. Do not purchase a vehicle here that is not 100% certified. Actually just don't purchase a used car from here period. The great deal you think you are getting will turn into a frustration by fixing all the issues that were neglected by the dealership. My wife and I are new to boulder and needed a symple oil change in our 08 RAV4. We had brought this vehicle in to them once before for new struts with out any issues. Awesome. Wanting to be a loyal customer we brought it back to them. This time however, replacing the drain bolt the to oil pan they stripped the threads to the pan and turned right around to charge my wife $650 for the repair. Now in my profession if there is an issue that occurs during the service, we take responsibility and address the issue with pride. That's customer service. This is unacceptable and highway robbery at it's best. Now because they refuse to take responsibility I am loosing work and costing me income. But who needs to provide for their families? It's also not important that my wife be in Arkansas by Sunday to care for a older sibling who just had brain surgery. She'll be fine. I used Larry h Miller service multiple times over the last few years on my 2008 Prius and now on my 2013 Prius. I honestly don't know how my experience could be much worse this last time. I had a "check hybrid systems" warning come up and was told to bring it in right away to be diagnosed. Ok-i got it there within an hour. It took 3 days for them to get back to me with a diagnosis. Nicole, my service writer told me that my ecu -one of the main computers was not functioning and that it was going to be $1600+ in repairs. I told her that it was under warranty and she assured me it was not and started to give me attitude. Luckily I am an informed consumer because it was definitely under warranty. She was ready to take my money for this fix. She called the next day and let me know it was in fact under warranty and set me up.with a rental while we waited for the part to come in. About two weeks go by from when I first brought it in and Nicole calls me again to let me know that they misdiagnosed by car and there was rodent damage that was $6400 to repair. This rodent damage was very easily visible if you just opened the hood of the car which apparently nobody did until my car had been with them for 1-2 weeks. During this entire time I was leaving messages with Nicole with no response. I left messages with the service desk as well with no response. I come to find out Nicole was no longer working there and nobody bothered to tell me until I called many times. So much time and frustration for no reason. I should have taken my car elsewhere but I did not have time to deal with that and insurance had already issued payment to Toyota. Finally got my car back after 3-4 weeks and now the glove box won't stay closed, a problem I did not have before leaving it with them. The cherry on top of a terrible sundae. The tech working on my car admitted I should have had my car back in a few days and that the whole place was a cluster f@#$. I left a voicemail.with the service manager saying I needed to speak with him about the quality of service I received and surprise, surprise never got a response. So instead of dealing with the problem directly I am coming to my only other avenue-yelp. I will never go back to this place and I highly suggest looking elsewhere for your maintenance needs. read more

The staff is friendly, courteous and fix your vehicle in a timely manner. They have a courtesy shuttle service to take you where you need to be, if you can't wait for your vehicle. I like sitting in the customer waiting area where they have complimentary fresh donuts from a local bakery and a specialty coffee machine that will prepare any custom java that you want. This dealership has changed hands but the location is still there. Just bought my third vehicle from them and I'm delighted (prior two were Prius). I walked in and walked away with a brand new Venza LE Hybrid after thinking I was going to have to wait (a long time) for a RAV4 Hybrid AWD. The Venza is same, or similar, all-wheel hybrid drive chain but more friendly suspension meaning a smoother ride over the road (hybrid EPA 40mpg on the AWD!). Also, Venza has far more features in the base-level trim (driver assist, hands-free trunk lid, proximity/no-remote-reqd entry, etc.). (Plus, they actually had one immediately available, white - my color - that is, for one day until I walked in and picked it off.) I've looked at Venzas in the past so I was familiar with it and open to the test drive. I need to get my oil changed and my car is still covered under Toyota care. I tried to make appointments 5 separate times and all of them were cancelled. I then tried calling three separate times and was hung up on every time. I then chatted with someone on the website and they told me that the first appointment was a month away, I need to get my car serviced before I go on a trip in 3 weeks and asked if there was anything sooner. I was told a customer service representative would get back to me and I have not heard anything. I know that everyone is busy, but it's frustrating to be cancelled on that many times and then there be no one to talk to. The costumer service is non existent and I am frustrated. As a woman who often get talked to like I'm an idiot in dealerships I have to tell you everyone, especially Richard, was so polite. We walked in knowing exactly what people were paying for the new vehicle we wanted and exactly what our trade-in was worth. The salesman didn't seem to know much about the vehicle we were looking at, but that was fine because we'd done our research. In passing, he mentioned a couple of his personal problems, presumably to elicit our sympathy so we'd buy from him. This was a huge turn-off, but we pushed forward. When it came time to negotiate prices, we were presented with an absurd markup (over True Car, etc) on the vehicle we wished to purchase. They also showed us a printout of the Manheim value for our trade-in that didn't seem to take into account the trade-in's low mileage or upgraded features. I'm confident they knew the value wasn't being represented accurately. We wouldn't budge on our offer, and the sales manager wouldn't come close to meeting us. So we walked out. We phoned a different Toyota dealership, and they immediately accepted our offer, saving us $5K on the transaction (we got $2.5K more for our trade-in and paid $2.5K less for the new vehicle). Luckily I had researched it extensively or I would've been severely misled. The finance guy put the wrong VIN on all of the paperwork, causing us to make a return trip to fill out the paperwork twice. Not fun with a 3 and 5 year old. I wish I would have known how bad the experience would be before I had them order a vehicle for me. Unfortunately, once I realized what sub-par operation this place was, it was too late. I wish I would have researched the dealership as extensively as I researched the car. I bet I could've had a better experience at Rocky's Autos. The building is a dump, our salesperson knew nothing, and the finance process was a comedy of errors. I love the car I bought, but hate where I bought it. When I was going to buy a used 4runner I first tried here. When I asked if a particular Toyota certified used one I was considering had ever been in an accident I was told that they could not be certified if ever in a wreck. I ran a carfax and it had indeed been in a wreck. I bought at Stevensen. I started having my repairs done at Larry H Miller out of convenience. No more. While they are friendly and do good work they overcharge and try to sell you on maintenance you don't really need. New radiator I did need, Larry miller wanted $610. Twin Peaks Auto in Longmont did it for $360. Larry HMiller also said I needed a new valve Gasket ($700 ) and power steering rack ($1500). Twin Peaks told me the valve cover should probably be done some day but was not critical. They also told me Miller should be reprimanded for suggesting I replace the power steering rack. Sorry Larry H Miller. You got greedy and lost my future business. read more

We recently bought a RAV4 XSE here and had a terrific experience-I highly recommend this dealership for purchasing a new vehicle. Specifically, we had a fantastic experience working with Josh Spingola aka "Spin". You won't regret working with him. Josh was very knowledgable and if he didn't have the answer to our questions he didn't make anything up but rather recruited another team member for assistance. During the test drive and subsequent looking through inventory and identifying cars that met our requirements, there was no upselling or distasteful practices. Once we had arrived at the car we wanted, the negotiations were positive and I found the dealership acted in good faith providing discounts in exchange for other concessions from us as buyers. Once we had decided on the base car price there was some mild upselling of the "Colorado package", various extended warranties, Toyota care, and key replacement programs. However, these are to be expected and we happily purchased the programs we thought were of best value. It was easy to say no and the team here was very respectful. We did not use Toyota financing, and instead used our bank, so I can't speak to that side of the buying process. Again, Josh is the person to work with! We even have returned after the purchase with dumb questions and received incredible support from him. read more

Went here to get an oil change for my truck. Can't say I was overwhelmed by the service. The service manager was friendly and respectful, but one of the lot attendants actually stared me down for no reason. I don't know if the guy did not get enough attention as a child; but why make a customer feel uncomfortable for no reason? I saw the same guy climb into a car with out putting down the floor mat or seat cover they always put in the car to keep the grease and dirt off of your floor and seats. One person can ruin an experience, and this dude needs to be fired. Unfortunately I did not catch his name. I hate to sound like a whiny entitled technocrat, but if you have ever had an experience like this you know what I am saying. Can't we all just get along... =) Also, they do not provide a complimentary car wash with an oil change. This is the only Toyota dealership I have ever been to that did not provide this service. They did say it would take 30-45 minutes, but I was out of there in 25. I think I will find another dealership next time, although in a pinch I would go here again. read more

First, I should tell that this review is for the service part, not the sales part. Many of the good reviews here are on the sales part which unfortunately, made me try them. I write this review because of my bad experiences with pretty much everything with their auto-repair service: (1) lack of respect for the customers, (2) terrible quality of service, and (3) bad businessman-ship. Little to No Respect for the customers: They don't have any respect for your time and your time means absolutely nothing for them. You make an appointment (which often takes few days to get in), you go there at the time, and find out the person in charge of checking in who is talking over the phone for 20 mins and you are just standing there and watching him/her. And although other managers are not checking in any cars, none of them is willing to check you in! Second, once they call me to pick my car up, and I went there, and I was waiting there for one and a half hour (I am not kidding). Why? Because they needed to sort out the warranty with another dealer (which absolutely didn't require my presence), whereas if they have respect for the customers they would have called you when everything has been sorted out. Bad Quality of Service: This is the worst part of my experience which makes me have no trust on this dealer. A year ago, I changed all four tires of my car in Atlanta in a Toyota dealer that I trust and they are still under road hazard warranty. Just few weeks back, one of the tires started to loose air. When I took it to the dealer, they called me and said that this tire has been "unprofessionally repaired" and it cannot be covered under Toyota warranty. Guess what? The only dealer that I have taken my car to after changing my tires, was Boulder Toyota! And speaking of respect, they just (implicitly) tell me that I am a liar by not accepting the fact that my car has been only to Miller Toyota after changing the tire (note that they have it on the record that I have been there every 5k). Bad business-man ship: last time that I went there to change oil and do the 50k check, they sold me this deal that: buy three oil service for the price of two and I thought it is a bargain. So, I opted to do that. This time I took the car for 55k check to do factory recommended service which DOES NOT INCLUDE oil change! And they changed the oil on my car at 55k which is NOT a factory recommendation and does no good to my car! So, buy two, get three oil change is just a dishonest bad sale trick! Overall, I don't recommend Boulder Toyota! I have no trust, no respect, and no faith on this dealer! read more

This is one of the places I went while car shopping. In all honesty, I really thought I would buy a Toyota but after my experience there, it wasn't worth it. If you can even find someone who's not already helping someone else, make sure that everything you need to say can be fit into 30 seconds. Anything longer they don't have time for. I booked an appointment to have some recall work and an oil change for my Prius. My appointment was scheduled at 9am and was told it should only take a few hours and they would call when it was done. I gave up and called them at 3:45pm to find out that they had only just started working on my car. They told me it would be done in less than 45 minutes, though when I showed up at 4:45pm, it still wasn't ready, and when I got my keys at close to 5pm, I was disappointed to discover my steering whee and shifter were both coated in dirt and grease. I'm still not sure how you can schedule things so badly to where taping up a few wires and doing an oil change/tire rotation takes 8 hours, but I will absolutely not visit this location ever again. read more

Lots of positive reviews here, and maybe if I was in the market for a new or used vehicle it is a different experience, but I was totally underwhelmed by a recent service visit here. I brought my 8 year old 4runner in to have some dash indicator lights diagnosed. The diagnosis took exactly as long as the service manager said. To fix the issue that they found, they wanted to charge well over $600 to take five minutes and install a $300 dollar part. They also found over $1400 more in recommended repairs to tack on. I paid the diagnostic fee and left. Now, I realize this is a dealer and they charge more money than independent shops to have out of warranty work done. Problem is, their diagnosis was totally wrong. I took the truck for a second opinion and found out that just about every piece of information about the $600 diagnosis was incorrect, and that the fix was something anyone reasonably handy could accomplish themselves. A $105 dollar, easy to install part solved my problem. Be cautious and be aware that there are a few independent shops worthy of your Toyota service dollars within walking distance of this dealer. read more

The motor is ticking on the one I got from LHM , I am driving to another city to get one after the oil filter and brake job I got from boulder Toyota left my driveway covered in oil and new brakes soaked in oil. The service writer told me it's ok to have engine oil soak into the rotors and pads during the break in. Everything that I know says otherwise. Brought my truck in for a quick warranty check. When it was returned the service required light was still on. They tried to sell me some basic maintenance that a good mechanic could perform in 1-1/2 to 2 hours. Only parts needed would be power steering fluid, brake fluid and front brake pads. For this I was quoted $775. Having been in the automotive business myself for 12 years I generously estimate $400 would MORE than cover the services suggested by Jennifer, the service writer. Unfortunately, Jennifer must be on commission and was trying to sell me COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY services. They said my brake fluid was dirty and needed to be changed....at 36,000 miles??? REALLY???? I checked it myself later and it was PERFECTLY CLEAN!!! She made the same recommendation regarding the power steering fluid and guess what? That too was PERFECTLY CLEAN!! If you dare try these RIP-OFF ARTISTS I'd recommend getting a second opinion AND a second estimate before getting gouged by Boulder Toyota read more

So straight up, I was told by the emissions place I needed to pay $25 big ones for a VIN verification. I called this place and the lady answering phones was incredibly kind to me, no matter how broke I told her I was. So did the service man, Dick. He said to go inside, stay warm, eat some donuts and have some coffee while he fills it out. So genuinely kindhearted. This place knows how to be human. Inviting a stranger in who has no intention of using their service says a lot about the people who work there (from now on tho, if they fix Fords I might just come here...) It's an understatement to say that electrical problems in cars can be difficult to diagnose. Especially intermittent ones. I took my 99 Avalon (yes, I am the only person under 55 that drives this great car) to Boulder Toyota for an air bag warning light problem. Paid to have it fixed and away I went. However after a short time the light started to come back on - again intermittently. After the second return trip we finally got it to come back on while at the shop. Boulder Toyota changed the diagnosis and without going into a lot of detail about the the exact parts etc... it was apparent to all that the initial diagnosis and repair was incorrect and unneeded. Most dealerships and independent shops would have said "tough" or "we had to replace the first set of parts to find out the problem with the other parts" or some such BS. Not Boulder Toyota. The service writer said "do you want me to cut a check for the initial repair or apply it to the next repair? I was blown away by the honesty. I have not decided what to do about the needed and very expensive repair but I went ahead and had them do a complete brake job (to replace the crap installed at Mineke) and applied my credit to that work. I have never had a service place stand so tall and be so honest. read more

I had an appointment to see a 4runner at 1100 yesterday 10/19/21. After taking an hour drive from Fort Collins Rafael said the car was out for a quick test drive. waited 45 minutes... no car. Rafael suggested lunch, which we did, 2 hours and 30 minutes later the car was "still out on a test drive". I've never seen enough gas in a new car for a 2.5 hour test drive. No manager came to talk, just a meek sorry from Rafael and an offer to bring the car to us. Why would I consider buying a car after that. read more

I bought a used land cruiser from this dealership in the spring and I wish I never did. It took them 6 MONTHS to get me my title! After some calling around it turned out that they didn't even have the title for the vehicle when I bought it. Since this car was being purchased under an LLC they also promised that they would handle all of the registration etc, let's just say that they did not. Additionally, I had my boyfriend call for me while I was away to check in on the process and I was told that they would no longer be communicating with anyone, but me. Seems they were nervous because someone was being more firm with them about how ridiculous (and illegal) this entire situation was. They acted like they were doing me some big favor getting me temporary plates when the only reason I had to do that was because they completely dropped the ball. Tanner (I believe his name was) was very honest and informed me of a better solution when I probably would have bought the battery, had he lied. I have been going to this Toyota dealership for 5 years now and I'm fed up with their service tactics and out of control prices! First, let me start by saying their staff are very friendly! I have never had an issue with and employee and they have always made me feel comfortable. The main issue stems from the business greed and taking advantage of unsuspecting clients. Now I'm going to list a few examples to demonstrate their dishonesty with their business practices. So I own a 2007 FJ, 2006 4-Runner and a 2009 Tacoma. My Tacoma has the most miles because I use it the most and recently have had to take it in for routine maintenance at 90000 miles. While I was in there they did their typical routine where they hustle a bunch of useless preventive maintenance. This time, however, I had two main issues. First, one of ABS wheel sensors was broken and my anti-lock brakes and traction control were disabled. They quoted me $495 to get this fixed, $250 for the sensor and the rest in labor. Second, they told me my water pump was leaking and it needed to be replaced for $680. So I declined to get the two problems fixed and I'll tell you why. As for the ABS sensor I looked this up and found out there are a bunch of OEM parts on amazon and Toyota was selling them for $173. Already they are up charging for parts. I bought an amazon unused return for $54. When it came it this part literally took me 10 minutes to replace. So what was the $245 labor charge for? This is criminal. Now the water pump particularly frustrates me because this dealership did the same thing for all three of my Toyota's. The FJ and 4-runner had standard warranties and the Tacoma had the extended warranty from Toyota. Now I kid you not the first time I toke all three into the shop after their warranties ended this dealership told me they were leaking and needed to be replaced. So I took the FJ and the Tacoma to shop outside of Boulder where my friend's works and he told me there is nothing wrong with either of the pumps. I constantly monitor the coolant levels and have never noticed a leak. I have also caught them not rotating tires after I had marked them and they always tell me I need a new air filter. I even bought my air filter there and installed myself and came in a week later for a warranty claim and they said my air filter needed to be changed. Now that my warranties have ended I will never be going to the dealership ever again. Like I said all the employees are very nice and make you feel comfortable. However, the way this business is run is absolutely criminal and I do not recommend anyone go here for vehicle service. read more

This place is the worst dealership in Boulder. They sold us a new motor with a 1year warranty, the heat never worked properly, 4 months later we took it back, they tried to charge us for a new water pump install. (Does everything work without it? No? Then it's part of the new motor under warranty.) They eventually told us they would take care of the cost then called us back a week later to charge us anyway. While the work was being done (4 days), they sent us to enterprise saying they would cover it and when we got there we were told that boulder Toyota sent us over as a self pay. Worst customer service, worst prices, worst people and the waiting area feels like an inner city bus station at 3:00am. read more

The service department has gone downhill in the last year or so. We've taken our Toyota here for several years, and the service used to be quite ok. The last two visits for oil changes were very disappointing. For the previous visit, we had an appointment. We showed up about 5 minutes early and were told that our car would be ready in about 45 minutes. After an hour, I asked about our car and when it would be ready. I was told "about 10 more minutes." We waited 15 minutes, and I inquired again. I was told that it was "almost ready." 15 minutes later, for a total of 90 minutes, our car was ready. Today, we had an appointment for an oil change, and we showed up about 5 minutes early again. This time we were told that it'd be about an hour. Long story short, it took 90 minutes. Another big disappointment is this time they tried to up-sell us. That's a first for us at this dealership. The lesson to be learned: do not trust what employees at Larry H Miller tell you. read more
