I have an old Saturn and the key quit working. And it was stuck. My keys are very worn down. I called and spoke with Frederick and he quoted me a very reasonable price, and came out within a couple hours. He was on time and very professional. We had to wait one day for the part but he was able to get a brand new ignition in my car, new keys and even put a new battery in my old fob so it's working again. Very happy with the service I received. read more

I called Corriea as I lost my mailbox key and forgot where I put the second key (you know in a safe place where I would find it - Not), Frederick was on another assignment but as soon as he was finished he came over. Unfortuately, he and his buddy could not find a code to fix it and he had to drill out the lock. This took a little time but he replaced the lock, made extra key (which I put in a safe), and completed the job to my satisfaction. He was great and I recommend him if you need any assitance with locks. read more

My stepson lost his last working car key for a 2004 accord. I was not looking forward to figuring out how to get it taken care of when I remembered meeting Fred and his wife at a local business mixer. They were honest and kind then and knowing how much small family businesses care about their reputation I had no hesitation having my kid call them for help. He coordinated with my stepson at first (who then needed to go to work) so I met him at the vehicle and he arrived right on time. Which was a relief in the hot sun. His son was in the van with him, which reminded me of our family business practices when the kids were little. In any case he was able to get a new key cut and programmed relatively quick and for WAY less than the dealership (that would have required us to tow the car to them) would require. He also showed and explained many aspects of the process that were very helpful to know for potential future issues! And he even told me how to save money on the problem! This company is a perfect example of a good old fashioned small family business. I give him major respect and suggest waiting for his call back should you ever need locksmith services. read more

Very impressed by the knowledge, skill, speed and cost for the service I got today. He replaced the lock on my wife's Honda in under 2 hours with new keys and did so at an amazing price (dealership would have charged us hundreds of dollars more). Will be using him to rekey my home based off this interaction. Highly recommended. read more

We were referred to Fred at Corriea by a trusted locksmith. My 95 yr old dad had had his car stolen & needed new keys for the car. Both of my parents are hard of hearing. He started out rude, but understanding "your mom is confused & keeps hanging up on me".... she's hard of hearing, if she can't hear you she'll hang up.... I called her & explained & she to come up in an hour when Dad who'd had insomnia would be awake. When Fred called, instead of coming up & spoke with Dad, Dad got him confused with the locksmith that had changed the locks at their house. I admit, Dad was confused due to the hearing problem, but..... Fred did not bother to call me again until after 6pm, saying that Dad was not altogether there, etc, in a very rude & disresptectful manner. As I tried to explain, he said "I'm done" & I said, so am I, because you've been so rude & disrespectful". He tried to blame his lack of business on my parents, telling me he'd turned down business waiting for my parents. Business wise, he could have taken other jobs & if/when Dad called he could have scheduled it from there. Fred needs to learn how to communicate with his potential clientele better & to have compassion & respect for those that find themselves in a stressful situation. Honestly, I'd give him one star, but he made himself available & everyone's allowed a bad day & I trust the people that recommended him. HOWEVER, you don't get to be RUDE & DISRESPECTFUL. read more

I went with this business to re-key my entire house. Mr. Corriea was on time and reasonably priced. Despite there being issues with my locks not being the same brand, which can pose an issue when you're trying to get all the locks on the same key, he did not try to upsell me anything, which I appreciated. He was fair, honest and came up with a solution to several problems I did not anticipate. I would recommend him again for any locksmithing needs! read more

My daughter had a traumatic life experience. In the process, her keys were stolen. Corriea Lock and Key, deserves more than a 5-star rating! Fredrick and his Assistant came out to repair the cheap gate lock on our wrought iron fence. Fredrick suggested replacing this worn 17-year old lock with a better quality, commercial lock. Because of the high-frequency traffic, this sounded like a good idea. Getting the wrought iron gate socket to accommodate the upgraded lock proved challenging, but Fredrick made it happen. Not only did he replace the broken lock, he broke out the welder and repaired the sagging gate, which might have been contributing to the repeated failure of the old lock. Simply amazing! We have used other locksmiths in the past but; Corriea Lock and Key has become our "go-to" locksmith for the future. Fredrick goes above and beyond the call... Thank you, Fredrick! read more

If you're looking for an excellent locksmith, look no further - you've found the best. Without question, this is the finest locksmith in the San Francisco Bay area. As a real estate agent active throughout the Bay area as well as the North and South Bays, I often need the services of a competent locksmith. I've had to use many locksmiths over the years and none of them come close to the caliber of Frederick Corriea. In addition to the average locks I encounter, it's not uncommon to be confronted by an exceptionally old one that usually stymies most locksmiths. Not Fred. We've never found a lock he can't handle. His service goes beyond just door locks. He's an expert artisan and is adept with automobile locks, safes and many exotic, one-of-a-kind locks. Whatever your locksmith needs are - Frederick is your man. read more

I totally forgot to write this post but it definitely deserves it! My mom told me about this locksmith that helped her a couple times last year. Anyways, Frederick was super nice over the phone. He was really patient with me as I tried to explain my problem even though I wasn't really sure what happened he helped me through it. Within half an hour he was over at my house and he was coming from another job site in San Leandro to El Cerrito which wasn't bad considering it was rush hour. Before when I had a similar problem with my house door, I had called another locksmith and after two hours he finished and over charged me because of the labor. With Frederick, the owner of the company, he finished within an hour and gave me a lower rate because I told him my mom referred me to him. I mean it wasn't like 50% off but a couple dollars off was still nice. So I paid him a bit extra and he gave me his business card. This is one business I would definitely refer to my friends and family!!! read more

Frederick did an amazing job for me. My truck had been broken in and had both door locks punched out. He replaced both locks and the ignition. Fred Corriea is the kind of guy you always hope to get for a difficult job. He installed a mortise lock in a very expensive door for me. Most locksmiths won't even attempt this kind of an installation. Even though it was a fixed price job, he was extremely careful and took a lot of time to get it exactly right.
