Our office was broken in to (no damages, no forced entry, nothing stolen, just a picked lock because we have no deadbolt). I told someone, "What if someone comes back with a weapon next time?" No one is coming that we know of. It was just a passing thought. A "what if" scenario. He got scared and said he wouldnt come. He wouldn't listen or communicate. He just kept repeating himself to go find someone else and that he was not coming. This is fine, but to not communicate and keep repeating himself felt childish and unprofessional. I shared I would write an honest review. Then he started threatening a lawsuit (document and everything) and going crazy. See texts. You can see other reviews and his unprofessional texts. Maybe this is where he makes his money? Threatening and suing people for 30k for honest reviews?

Tommy's told me $350…read more I called Pick-a-lock and they texted me $200, but when I said OK and sent my address and asked how long before they could come out, they never responded. I called Triple A and they said they couldn't come out for a lost key fob, but would refund me $50 for locksmith services. I filled out an online form for KB locksmith, never heard back. I called this place and he asked if I had an all black fob or one with a silver Toyota symbol on it. Mine was all black. He said $280 and could come in an hour and 15 minutes. Sounded great to me. He arrived promptly, even found his way to my parking lot where the car was. He has a van with a little shop inside, very well prepared. It took him about 50 minutes which he said was longer than usual but he got it done. Fob works perfectly. When I told him about the $350 price I was quoted from Tommy's, he said that's if my fob had had the silver logo. Tommy's never asked about the colors of the fob. I would highly recommend them. I did a lot of research and now you other Yelpers can read my experience and save yourself some time and money. And if you have Triple A, go online and download a form to send in with your receipt to get the refund.

Technician quoted me a price range over the phone and then after waiting for him to arrive, suddenly there were additional fees and the final price jumped 50% over the max originally quoted. When I questioned him on these shady pricing practices he claimed it was standard practice. Avoid this service, find a locksmith with honest and transparent pricing. This service will scam you.

I had an excellent experience with MGC. My storage unit had been broken into several times and I…read moreneeded the lock improved. MGC responded promptly to my Yelp inquiry although it was a few weeks until I got back to them because life intervened. Despite the lag, they scheduled right away via text. I appreciated their responsiveness. They came on time and were able to remove the old lock from the door and install the new one. After they installed the lock, I realized I had requested the wrong lock. Somehow I got to my 40's without fully understanding what a deadbolt was; I requested that but realized I needed also a thicker horizontal bolt. I only realized this after they were done installing. On their own initiative, they called me the next day saying they identified a lock that had the numerical pad entry that I wanted and the thicker bolt. They brought the new lock the next day and charged minimally to remove the lock they just installed and add the new one. They even took it upon themselves to return the initial lock at no additional cost; and even after I managed to somehow lose the key for it in the 24 hours after they installed it. MGC was professional- they understood the properties of the different locks, they do an excellent job, they're timely, they're friendly (the prior locksmith I had take a look at it before I chose MGC resembled more of a car salesman) and they go the extra mile for the customer. Would definitely work with them again.
