Adorable, hip, friendly, and tasty. Corner Kitchen is oozing with local charm and flair. Located inside of an old house, you'll feel comfortable dining in the front room, atrium, upstairs or the covered patio. I feel like this is kind of a place to be seen. The menu is Southern creative. We started with the biscuits and gravy appetizer which might have been a mistake because I was almost too full for my entree after sampling it. The signature gravy was heavenly! We scooped it up with our forks when we ran out of biscuit. The coffee is excellent and we all enjoyed the fresh squeezed juice. (Those are important touches for breakfast.) the service is super friendly. Maybe could use a more extensive child's menu. My older son eats like a little adult but my younger kid is a typical "kid" eater. Although he loved his waffles and the picture provided for coloring. If I lived in this neighborhood, I'd be walking down here all the time.

Some history

Our first meal in Asheville, which was very conveniently located just minutes away from the Grand Bohemian. Biltmore Village is pretty sleepy so didn't see many other options to eat besides this, but it was pretty good. We had a 7:30pm Sunday reservation and asked if we could sit on the patio since it was a gorgeous night. We had to wait about 5-10 min for a patio table, but no biggie. The service was great and our waiter was very attentive. And the food came out pretty fast as well. After ordering some wine we started with a cup of gazpacho. My husband really liked it, but i found it a little spicy. However, I really enjoyed the rest of our meal which was a meat and cheese app and pecan crusted trout. My husband and I split both and cleaned our plates. While dessert was tempting we had eaten a lot of candy on our drive to Asheville so decided to skip it. Overall, it was a nice first casual meal and we didn't even have to get dressed up which was nice after a long car ride. It looks like they have a great brunch too so we may be back this week to check it out!

Asheville is known for their food scene and it's difficult to gauge which restaurants to try during your visit!! I am so proud of my partner for picking this place because I love eating hearty for breakfast! The Steak Benedict was delicious, I recommend it because the flavor of the steak was noticeable even through the sauce and the portion is quite generous and just overall excellent! My partner ordered homemade corned beef and it was massive!! We ordered cocktails of Bloody Mary that was well garnished & ordered their seasonal special of beet cocktail and just one glass was enough, it had such a refreshing taste! I highly recommend and excellent service with multiple servers helping, we had a main server that was great and we had someone fill our glasses and someone else take our empty plates out of the way!

Never miss this restaurant! There's nothing on the menu that I wouldn't recommend! The service is on point and the ambiance is fabulous! They've rebuilt this gem better than before! Love the new look and the menu is perfection! Keep it up!

I was staying at a hotel in the Biltmore Village near The Corner Kitchen, and the reviews caught my eye. I am so glad we decided to go there for dinner. It was elevated Southern cuisine, and we enjoyed it enough that we may go back before leaving the area. The restaurant has a comfortable feel -- upscale, but not stuffy. The service was excellent. The servers were personable and attentive without hovering. At one point, I accidentally dropped my napkin, and our server immediately brought me another one. Our water glasses were continually refilled, and our server checked in regularly to make sure we had everything we needed. My partner and I liked so many things on the menu that we knew ordering soup, salad, an appetizer, and entrées would be too much. We told our server we were sharing, and for most of the courses, they divided the portions and brought them out on separate plates. That was another small touch that showed they were paying attention to detail. There wasn't anything we had that we wouldn't order again. We started with the seasonal soup, which was a tomato bisque, followed by the strawberry and feta salad. The country ham board was excellent and actually had me looking for Lusty Monk mustard the next day. For our main entrée, we shared the shrimp and grits, which was also delicious. Great food, thoughtful service, and a comfortable upscale atmosphere. This was the best meals we had in the area.

Outstanding! The best meals of our entire trip! Service was good and the food and portions were amazing! Give them a try - they went through a lot to rebuild after Hurricane Helena. You won't be disappointed.

Corner Kitchen has been a special dining location for my family for years. The staff is always incredibly personable, friendly and helpful. The quality of the food is outstanding. The dishes are delicious. There is a focus on working with local vendors. The atmosphere is cozy and warm. There are 2 levels of dining space and a cute outdoor area. Make sure to visit the restroom where some snarky signs are sure to make you smile! When Hurricane Helene hit, Biltmore Village (where Corner Kitchen resides) was heavily business. Sadly, there are several businesses who haven't reopened and many who never will. Being an lifelong Asheville resident, seeing the damage brought by the storm and flooding has been heartbreaking. I was so excited to see Corner Kitchen opened back I highly recommend dining at Corner Kitchen. The menu has a great mix of sweet and savory. The brunch items are our favorites! Make sure to get a biscuit and jam no matter what you order!

Josh is the best server we have ever encountered. Truly. And that's not even discussing the food. Ok where to begin? The best falafel (a daily Benedict special) and that's saying something given I've eaten falafels in Israel, Turkey and NYC. The bed of arugula and hollondaise sauce was chef's kiss. Then there's the side dish of the feta potato salad. OMG! The server called the chef "young, hungry, and polished..." and truly I agree. My honey is a meat and potatoe dude and the burger he had was sumptuous. A hint of horseradish (he thinks) with the smoky bacon and perfect seasoned fries. In summary... total gastronomic taste gasm. We will be back. Many times. This is what makes Asheville worth the trip.

Hazelnut fudge cup with cashew cream cheese frosting- so delicious!!

Our waiter was absolutely incredible really made our dinners perfect. When you go in and you are gluten-free and dairy free, you need a good waiter to help you pick.. I learned all about the history of the restaurant in the suffering from the hurricane. we wish them all the best luck.

Had the best brunch at Corner Kitchen! Our server Josh was phenomenal and the food as well. Highly recommend their current special, the corned beef hash, grits and of course mimosas! Would be a treat to dine here again.

Food and service were both good , great little place surrounded by tiny boutique shops . We booked in advance just incase it was busy, but there was plenty of sitting inside , outside and upstairs. Would surly recommend trying it , loved the Boozy French toast.

The staff were ALL so helpful when I stopped in w/o a reservation. I had a nice table on the patio, an excellent chenin blanc and a delicious bourbon bread pudding. Although I cannot review the other dishes, what I saw & heard from diners was all positive. Considering that the Village area is still in recovery, this is quite a GEM there. My dessert was huge & perfect, I rarely find such an excellent chenin blanc and all in all it was the perfect top-off to a spring evening

Corner Kitchen is in Biltmore Village that was devastated by Helene, but you wouldn't know it. This elite restaurant is in an original house from the Vanderbilt purchase. They deliver like a well oiled machine. Staff was super friendly, knowledgeable of it's history and just fun to be around. It's a limited menu and changes frequently so look online at their website to see what's new. We had the shrimp and grits with a red eye gravy and the pork shank osso bucco. It was served over a creamy polenta and the pork was pull apart tender. We normally don't eat at fancy places but this experience was well worth it. Everything was fantastic. Do make a reservation to ensure you can get in. They were completely full and held to reservation time. Next time in Asheville area we'll definitely be back!

My daughter had the filet, which was cooked beautifully and just as delicious (although a bit small, as noted on the menu). Our evening started with complimentary champagne....booked in advance and told the staff we were in town celebrating and they took great care of us. We skipped the apps, but were impressed that they offer smaller plates, along with their entrees. My wife ordered the 4 Oz filet, which was so tender that it didn't require a steak knife to cut it. Her butter knife was sufficient enough. Honestly, her fork would've been enough. You can tell they have good beef quality....the filet was very tasty. Was served with a sauce and whipped potatoes, along with fresh green beans. I ordered their scallops and polenta dish. Honestly, I think the garnish was a bit over the top.....however, their scallops were delicious and tender. I normally like a good sear but can appreciate how they prepared theirs. The seasoning was flavorful and their sauce with the garnish went well with it. The only mark I can make had to do with the polenta. It was quite tasty, but the consistency didn't match the description of the dish. Regardless, it paired very well with the scallops. Ended the night with complimentary dessert, which was their blackberry peach crumble with ice cream, which was delicious. One of the best desserts we've had in some time. Our waiter James was fantastic. He was great in describing dishes, and was timely with the service and making sure our drinks were taken care of. The manager on duty, Brooke, was wonderful as well and even extended well wishes on our celebration. All in all, their staff did a great job. You can also tell that the other tables got similar service as well. We had all intentions on coming back and checking out their brunch, which was highly recommended, but ended up doing something else the following day. This is a solid option for date night dining. Very intimate setting downtown. Parking is ridiculous to try and get close by, especially on a Friday night, but theres a parking deck under a mile away from the front door. This is another Asheville spot we'll have in the rotation. Very impressed and can't wait to try other options there in the future.

Labor Day weekend stay…read more Pulling up it looked like a busy, touristy, historical, and grand estate rested atop, basked in the fresh mountain air, with a gorgeous view of the golf course and the blue ridge mountains. Pretty dog friendly, although mine is a service animal. Staff were all friendly with a warm southern welcome. Our room on the club level had access to their snacks and breakfast with drink options. The room itself came with a hugeee tub that I took advantage. However the room itself was a bit dated, and the sheets were horrible. She was celebrating her birthday with friends, and since I couldn't join the trip, I arranged to have a gift basket from a local company waiting in her room as a special surprise when she arrived. About 10 days before her stay, I spoke with Guest Services by phone and followed up via email, providing the guest's information, expected delivery date, and all other pertinent details. I was told a note had been placed on the reservation specifically requesting that the basket be delivered to her room for her arrival. Unfortunately, that never happened. After she had been there for a few days without mentioning the gift, I became concerned and called the hotel. They discovered that the basket was still sitting in the shipping department. It was eventually delivered to her room on the second-to-last day of her trip, but by then the entire point of having it there as a special birthday welcome had been lost. The young man who helped me track it down was pleasant and apologetic, which I appreciated. Still, this was frustrating and disappointing. Sending gifts and packages to hotel guests is hardly unusual, and I had gone out of my way well in advance to make sure the hotel had everything needed to handle it correctly. I expected better attention to detail from a four-star hotel. While I can't speak to the experience of actually staying here, this experience would absolutely factor into whether I chose to stay at the Grove Park Inn myself in the future.
