My friend and I arrived around 1045 on a Friday and there was a small line outside the cafe. We waited around 10 minutes before we were seated. Not bad at all. We would've waited longer to come in, the food was that good. Worth the wait! Cute and cozy atmosphere, variety of dishes to choose from (but not overwhelming)and the service is good. Corners Cafe literally a Cafe in a Corner, haha! This was such a charming spot for breakfast, I absolutely adored this place. The food was excellent and some of the best I had on this trip. The service was warm and friendly and welcoming. This place was poppin and packed, had a 30 minute wait to get seated but was sat earlier. We were sat by the window in the front, such a cute spot to eat our delicious breakfast. The portions were big, so you will definitely leave happy. The best part was the breakfast platters. They had really solid breakfast plates of meat, eggs, potatoes, etc. There are also great options like breakfast burritos, pancakes and waffles. I ordered the avacado toast with 2 bacon strips on the side, and oh my so delicious. I really enjoyed every bite of my toast for sure. And I ordered my daughter the kids meal with eggs, bacon and toast... she enjoyed it so much that she wanted more. We had a large group and the hostess was kind enough to tuck us into the large table in the back. Each member of my party had wonderful things to say about their meals. We decided to have lunch here on our day trip to Newport since it's so highly rated! We waited 45 minutes for a table for four on a Sunday, and another 45 before our food got to our table (after ordering shortly after we were seated). This wouldn't have been an unreasonable wait (in fact it was a beautiful day and Corner Cafe has a delightful atmosphere!) except that the food didn't really match the wait time. I got Mary's Multi Stacker and was quite disappointed. While the pesto mayo on the sandwich was yummy, I was very unimpressed by the quality of the deli meat (rather slimy and chewy). The rest of my family got dishes such as the Irish Burger, breakfast tacos, and pancakes, and reported that each was average. All in all, not a bad experience, but not worth the wait (or price) in my opinion. read more

This place has some great things: 1) A staff that is absolutely top notch, guest focused. The wonderful hostess really seated us quickly and was periodically at our table to check up on us. The waitress also did a fantastic job and was attentive and incredibly helpful from the first minute of the meal to us leaving. 2) The menu has something for everyone and really does one thing very well: it mixes items that you wouldn't normally eat or taste in different offerings. I had a simple grilled cheese with Sourdough and the pesto/tomato combination was absolutely fantastic. The coffee and OJ was also excellent as well. The eggs and scrambler combinations were also excellent. 3) Family friendly atmosphere but not overly hipster and/or traditional diner. The entire venue hits a nice chord between old and new. Not a long winded review, this is a place I look forward to visiting again. It exceeds expectations: outstanding staff, unique flavors and menu offerings, fresh ingredients. The chef and management of this restaurant definitely understand what it takes to be successful as well as stand out. And a cool, neighbor-friendly place to eat. My experience dining in was good, but after two days from my visit I received an alert from my bank saying I left a 33% tip which I did not. My wife and I found The Corner Cafe 10 years ago when we first visited Newport. We have returned every time we visit. The decor has a great Bohemian vibe and whoever chooses the music is a genius. The staff is great and remembers us each time we come back. If you are fortunate, one of the owners will be there to greet you and make you family as one of the family. The breakfasts are outstanding. They have the best in town and you will either eat so much you need to take a walk after, or you won't finish because their portions are generous. I wish this place could stay a secret. So we wouldn't have to wait in line. But something this good never stays a secret for long. read more

I got the Ultimate Breakfast Sandwich - full of eggs, rashers, bangers, tomatoes, lettuce & pepperjack on multigrain - that being said I was expecting a runny egg and it was well done. Very nice service, place is small and was packed, everyone was happy great vibe and energy in there. Hubby got a wrap w chicken and mushroom and cheese which he enjoyed a lot. I got avocado toast w goat cheese and sun dried tomatoes which was very good. Got w side of berries, I am VERY fussy and every single one was perfect. Son got the 3 berry pancakes which were OMG. Cranberry, raspberry and blueberry in the pancakes w whipped cream on top. No berries on top. Was just excellent. Pancake batter was perfect. A must order. 3 huge pancakes, he ate two. Coffee was high end coffee shop quality. I drank 2 iced lattes. Perfect. Even w my 2 lattes, breakfast for 3 was under $50. Richards Allen's coffee is close to perfection! The orange juice is superb! Real, real fresh juice! The potatoes were cooked and seasoned just right! The Portuguese Scrambler is amazing with a surprise bite of chorizo! Yummy! The Beast feeds you very well. The only thing that does not give them 5 starts is the customer service. We found this place last minute by seeing who had good lunch in Newport and was open. Wow - this is the bestest of cafes! really chill vibe here. It was busy and we lucked out getting seats at the bar. Staff were super friendly, super Irish (lol) and boy do they know how to make some great food. You could go comfort food or healthy - your choice. That said - when the Irish woman tells you "You gotta try the bacon" - you follow instructions. The food tastes so fresh and delicious! We loved this place! The staff was friendly and they had a great outdoor space. Luckily, we had great weather so we were able to enjoy outdoor seating. I've heard so much about the corner cafe and it lives up to the cozy hype! We went for brunch, the wait staff were extremely friendly. This is byob but alas i wasn't imbibing spirits today. The menu is thorough. A nice selection of traditional diner fare like egg dishes, but also burritos and sandwiches. I opted for the California Benny because I was craving hollandaise. The combination of avocado, sautéed spinach, red pepper, and feta was splendid! Everyone who dined with me knows I have a feta fetish! My mom had cinnamon French toast, which looked a bit standard wonder bready for my tastes but she's easy to please. delicious! we had to wait a bit when we first arrived. the place is small and it was full even at 8am on a weekday. definitely keep that in mind if you're in a rush like we were, but aside from that the food was great. the omelet was SO good, definitely the best one i've had in a while if not ever. it was loaded with veggies instead of being mostly egg which i like, and had a well seasoned soft cheese melted on the inside. the home fries are not traditional and are more of a quartered and seasoned potato but they were very tasty. we would come back for sure. read more

Gem! The Corner Cafe is obviously very popular with the locals and the tourists. My friends and I arrived around 11am on Saturday. We waited about 35min. It was very nice out so they had couple outdoor seating available too. The staff was very friendly. The Corner cafe offers great selection of bfast- omelets and Benedicts and etc. The restaurant looks newer inside than the outside. It was very clean. The restaurant wasn't too loud. The servers were busy but still managed to checkup on us through the meal. I strongly recommend the California Benny!!! It's colorful, flavorful and the potato hash was amazing!! The inside is a small but it's very cute and cozy. The staff was very pleasant and we received great service.
