Just not a good experience. Love these cafes in other places, but this one is a "no thank you," Ordered, and the young lady taking our order couldn't get the order correct. She was too concerned with what size coffee and drinks we were having. After I paid, I realized that the Anaheim Panini wasn't on our order, so I went up and spoke to someone who said he would take care of it, but never did. Finally, the line to order became less, and I went up and paid for the sandwich. Of course, the rest of the food came. Cold French toast with no "cinnamon roll" flavor. The scramble was ok, but the potatoes were mushy and flavorless. When the panini arrived, I just couldn't believe it. It was barely toasted, and contained less than one scrambled egg, no discernible bacon, and just seemed like no one cared about the good quality. Just Terrible! Bad Service, bad management, bad online order experience with terrible food and drink experience. Soooooo slow it took 45 mins to get my online order 35 mins after it was promised. Manager with a beard tried to be nice and realized nobody was getting my online order ready so he said he would take care of it. My order came out late in waves as he forgot 2 items. Meanwhile other customers were complaining and he just got overwhelmed forgetting about me. My croissant with bacon and egg was cold, under cooked bacon and no joke, but half of the croissant was missing! One of our coffees a vanilla latte was not even half full and had no taste like they forgot the vanilla. I asked an employee there for sugar 2 times because their tray of white packets was empty. First time he was polite and said sure I'll get it. 20 mins later I asked again then he said yea yeah with attitude saying I'll get it, but never did. It's a convenient place to pick up some quick grub near the various parks near the WH and across from the Reagan center, so good if you need to frequent these areas. The choices are ok, but often times they are out of things like avocados, or sour dough or some other (major) ingredient, which might be due to supply chain issues. The portions are somewhat small, which can be an advantage if you need to carry away, which often times is the case. The food tastes are meh, but not bad. In the end, it's a convenient yet not stellar place, but close to many business and attractions similar to the adjacent hotel, viz. the JW Marriott. read more

Staff need to wash their hands when returning from breaks. I witnessed a young man on a break, use his phone, and return to the line to help with prepping to go food. Located across the street from the Willard Hotel, it was our go to place for breakfast. Very convenient to the hotel and offered a variety of items at a reasonable price. There was no greeting, no pleasant "hello", no "can I help you"...nothing! So I gave my order to go, asked for a bag, and was thrown a bag to do my own bagging. It was a quick order of two Soups, so not sure why the attitude when we had to wait for her stop laughing with her co-workers like we were invisible...me, invisible? Once she decided to take my order with such attitude, she then asked in a very sassy demeanor if I wanted my receipt, I stated yes & she dropped it on the counter...LENT SEASON MK, LENT SEASON. I walked away with my table number & started to meditate to myself. I saw how whom seemed to be the Manager or General Manager was not being user friendly to another customer, so I kept my mouth closed & kept it moving. The server Imani brought one of the soups out & placed it on the table behind us...what is wrong this location??? So once my soup came out, I asked Delonte to send over Imani, so my co-worker could inquire & address the soup placement on the wrong table. He came over, co-worker stated what she wanted & he said, "I didn't see a number, but just placed it down a few seconds ago so someone could get it". She was not having that, asked for a new one, as we both looked at the bowl that had spilled soup on the outside. & lo & behold, the same bowl was returned. Thankfulness to Delonte who made the issue better with a bowl of soup. Unfortunately, that won't cut it as neither one of us will never return to this location again. This place can be hit or miss in terms of crowds at lunch time. I've been there when seating is no problem and other times when I'm wandering around the place looking for an empty table. The asian chicken salad is pretty good and the tomato/mozzarella sandwich & tomato basil soup combo isn't bad either. I've had the turkey sandwich but they seem to use cheap cold cuts rather than "real" turkey so for a turkey sandwich go to Phillips a block over instead. read more

The worst. My husband and I were in the area to get his watch repaired by the jeweler store just across the street. While we waited, we decided to stop in for a quick lunch. I ordered a spinach sweet crisp salad with chicken, and dressing on the side. I had to send back my order twice - first time- my salad was drenched in its dressing, second time - there was no chicken. After spending nearly 30 minutes just to get my order "right", I noticed the strawberries were rotten. And into the trash my lunch goes... In addition, the cashier did not know the menu well. She told me the chicken would cost addition 50 cents extra. When she learned her mistake in pricing, she did not know how to correct or remove it from the system. As if those two strikes weren't enough, I find it extremely unsanitary that the cleaner would wheel a cart full of dirty dishes and trash around the sit down area to clear the table. There was a cart full of trash stationed next to me my face for a good 10 minutes while I waited for my food. The whole experience was a nightmare. Never again. read more

Corner Bakery is not what it used to be. The portions are much smaller and prices higher which is not shocking these days however, the quality and preparation is also terrible. Did you know that they served BREAKFAST ALL DAY?? I've known that for years and NOW you do too. One thing to know - if you order breakfast after the POSTED breakfast hours you will get FRUIT with your meal instead of those delicious potatoes. The food were superb. Especially hot breakfast and yogurt. They event made a menu for for food restriction options for us...Gluten free, vegetarian and vegan. They always has an excellent suggestions and inputs make the order process easy. Corner Bakery on 19 & L is a regular go to cafe for our catering for events small or big. Coffees cold, (cold-brew) food is hot, and there is plenty of seating. Nice quick stop. Downside-the lights in the men's bathroom did not work and some random person sat outside the bathrooms who provided me with the code. Not sure if this is an employee or not. read more
