We had breakfast here after dropping off our children at DFW. We ordered blueberry top buttermilk pancakes. Wifey ordered garden gate scrambler (vegan). The pancakes are so fluffy, very soft and it melts in your mouth, taste great. The spinach and potatoes from the garden gate scrambler are tasty and delicious. Serving staff are friendly and helpful. Well lighted, very clean and nicely decorated bakery shop. I will try their baked cinnamon next time.

Chicken Carbonara

This isn't a terrible place if you want a quick meal. I ordered my food and got it in less than 5 minutes. After you order, they give you a number and you wait at your table to receive your food. The chicken carbonara was decent tasting although it was a bit greasy at the end. You could see oil clotting at the bottom of the dish.

Consistent, reliable and healthy clean food. A go-to takeout when we either want to eat lighter or just in a pinch/don't want to think! Can only speak to their salads and sandwiches, and pretty sure we've tried them all. The chopped and harvest salads are our faves; love the uptown turkey avocado, tomato mozzarella, BBLT and carved ham/swiss sammies. Paninis are great too, but sometimes with takeout they get a little soggy. A number of included side options with the sandwiches; typically choose the side salad which is a decent size. Recently tried the green chile chicken panini = chef's kiss excellent! Packed a spicy kick, great flavor and delicious. Their seasonal chili was a fine accompaniment. Last but certainly not least, they get to-go orders right!!

Small Carbonara

Carbonara small bowl but about a kid size. I'm struggling on what star level to give them The place needs some work. The rotating door is scary and dangerous. The flooring is cracked and broken throughout which is so dangerous. I wear heels and it was an issue. The service was decent. The place was busy and tables were clean. My carbonara was creamy and I liked the stuff in it and the noodles. Pretty bland and cold for waiting a while to get it so that was confusing and I think the portion is not really generous. I miss the goat cheese for the salad and the hand pies but l will be back every few months. I wish people cared more.

This is my new favorite quiet spot. The service is great and the menu has both breakfast and lunch options. The staff have been very accommodating and Jay is an absolute gem. It's also a good place to do some work if you have to bring your laptop. I've been here several times and each experience has been good.

Club

Terrible experience. When I ordered a club the order taker asked me "the panini club?" I said "No, What are the other bread choices?" In her unfriendly tone, she named white bread. When I asked if there another bread choice she says wheat?? Why didn't she say that to before with? She was not cooperative or friendly. I ordered white (forgot to ask for it to be toasted). Why didn't see ask? Well, the sandwich was horrible. The sandwich was cut in half. A club is cut in quarters. I did not receive white bread. It was on egg bread. Ok, no big deal. However, the bread was not fresh and fell apart. The turkey was put on the sandwich with a stack of sliced turkey. Horrible sandwich. Cannot eat. With drink, $14. I will not return to your place. So disappointing.

This location is pretty nice and the food has been consistently good. I usually order the shrimp scampi and/or the tomato soup. The shrimp scampi is really not bad for the price. I usually add a little more salt and pepper and maybe garlic myself, but I like simple pasta dishes and enjoy the flavor of this one. The garlic bread it comes with is very good too. The tomato basil soup is delicious and robust! It comes with some croutons also. I love dipping my grilled cheese in their soup. It's more of a chunky tomato soup so if you're not into that I wouldn't recommend it.

This corner bakery is one of the few that gives the proper portions. It's never too crowded and the staff is very nice

Located among the shops and bars of historic downtown sits 1418 Coffee, a cute and genuinely great little shop that fits the area perfectly. Inside, the shop is fairly narrow but offers a good amount of both indoor and outdoor seating. I arrived with a friend a little before 11 am on a Sunday, and it was absolutely packed. A biking group was posted up outside, students were inside working on homework, even though most colleges have not started yet, and plenty of other patrons were taking their Sunday mornings easy. Despite having at least 10 to 15 people in front of us, the line moved pretty quickly. My friend who was more of a regular at the shop knew a lot of the staff and had convos with them. It feels like a little community! I ordered the Maple Sausage Croissant sourced from Sugar Loaf Bakery along with a hot Purple Haze latte made with lavender and vanilla syrup. My drink came out fairly quickly, and I thought it was great. It was well balanced and not overly sweet. As for the Maple Sausage Croissant, it was exactly what it sounded like, a maple sausage tucked into a croissant. I initially expected the croissant itself to be maple flavored, similar to a McGriddle, but it was still fresh and enjoyable. They had been keeping them warm in a heater throughout the morning, which definitely helped. I have stopped by 1418 Coffee a few times when visiting Dallas, and I plan to keep returning. They consistently do a great job and fit right into the charm of downtown Plano. RIYL: A warm haven in a beautiful downtown.

The baristas are all super friendly and were happy to answer all my questions. It's also super cozy with dim lighting, and the music isn't super overpowering or loud. There's mostly comfy couches but also a few tables and high top seating. Just a little chilly, so I'd recommend bringing a jacket. I was able to comfortably complete some work on my laptop, with working wifi. There were also people here socializing in the morning. They no longer serve breakfast tacos, so I opted for a bacon cheddar scone at one visit and a lemon blueberry scone on another. They were both delicious! The baristas told me that their chai leans toward the sweeter side versus the spicier side, so I opted for an iced sugar-free vanilla latte, which was not overly sweet. I also tried the beez neez (latte with honey and cinammon) another time and enjoyed it! They offer 2% milk, which I don't always find at coffee shops. Since it's in downtown Plano, there's street parking, which wasn't difficult for me since I came at 8 AM. I believe there are parking garages located nearby. Overall, I've greatly enjoyed 1418 Coffee and will most definitely be visiting more throughout this month while I'm working in the area!

Coffee tasted very nice, but I wish I'd had a plain coffee option as far as beans go. My three choices were a citric/acid, a double the caffeine hazelnut or decaf. I would have appreciated a simple smooth robust bean option. All that aside, the coffee was well prepared, staff were great and I didn't end up with a massive caffeine high - despite ordering the double the caffeine bean. You order from a giant touchscreen rather than from a barista, which felt like a lot of work. Doable, but part of my coffee experience usually involves asking questions and getting advice from the person who knows the roasts and the drinks best - the barista.

It was quiet and playing nice Christmas music. Bf got a mint mocha and I got a hot chocolate with added peppermint. I really liked my hot chocolate--the same price as my Starbucks order but way higher quality. Bf commented that both drinks were on the sweet side for him but I still thought his was bitter, as someone who doesn't like coffee. Overall, a really cute place! We will be back to try the waffles and maybe some pastries.

We…read morespecifically searched for this place because we traveled to Japan before and have been craving authentic Japanese pancakes ever since. This place absolutely delivers every time. The pancakes are fluffy, fresh, and full of flavor. The coffee is amazing too. Everything tastes high quality and worth the wait. The café is always busy, which says a lot about how good it is. One thing we really loved is that they even have kiosk ordering, which reminded us of Japan. You can also place your order ahead of time for pickup, which makes everything so convenient. Just amazing overall and definitely one of our favorite spots for Japanese pancakes.

The space is beautifully decorated with a Thai jungle vibe, which makes for a fun and immersive atmosphere. Ordering is done via QR code at the table, and water is self-serve, so it feels a bit more casual and less service driven. The dinner menu was smaller than expected, with fewer than 10 main entrée options and a heavier focus on desserts and specialty drinks. That said, the Malay shrimp curry was excellent--rich and flavorful. However, for $21, it was a bit disappointing that it didn't come with any vegetables. The Mango Soufflé Pancake was a standout dessert--light, unique, and delicious--but at $20, it's more of a splurge than a casual add-on. One thing to note: there's a 10% automatic gratuity added to all orders (listed as a service charge in small print on the menu).
