Love the pasta here that's why I'm giving 2 stars, but bad customer service. Only had 1 pleasant order experience out of 4 so I only order online to avoid the rudeness of the cashiers. I decided to step out of the office and bring a book to read at Corner Baker for lunch but my plan of having a serene lunch break was ruined by their cashier Jasmine. NO smile nor acknowledgement (I'm not asking for apology) that I waited for her to finish taking phone orders before assisting me. My entire experience placing my order for her was my worst experience ever that I wanted to walk out. Then, decided to do their survey and at the end I saw other guests review and found that it was not just me that had a similar experience. You need to re-train your staff, guests do not just come back for food most of us come back for great customer service. read more

Come on Corner Bakery, for the prices you charge, you can be better than this. When I worked downtown, I used to love having lunch at your location in the train station. My favorite was the tomato mozzarella sandwich with homemade chips and lemonade. Now, you put this arugula crap on the sandwich instead of fresh basil leaves. You do know that arugula and basil are not the same thing, right? The chips are also like Lays from the bag. No more homemade?? The lemonade is still good though. When I went up to the counter to place my order, your 30+ year old order taker dude ignored me because he was too busy checking out the fine young 16 year old who was bending down behind the counter, and actually doing work. I love Corner Bakery but NOT this location. Every time I come in here it's like they have all the part-timers working who don't care what's going on. No one is picking up the tables, food everywhere, sometimes there is silver wear, sometimes not and one morning I saw someone in the kitchen using his bare hands scooping food. It was disgusting. This location has the worst service consistently. And this particular day there was a lady waiting for an order where they had messed it all up and she was ANGRY. So I know it wasn't just me. It's a hard one to rate - the food is good but the restaurant experience is often ruined by the competitve nature of so many Oakbrook executives who need to get back to their offices sooner than you do. DON'T arrive right at noon unless you're getting carry-out - you'll fight for a table. The staff is friendly and they offer fresh ingredients though. For carry-out, it gets four stars. read more

This is located by the Little Maggiano restaurant. Corner Bakery Cafe is the sister company. It took some time for us to find this because Oakbrook Center is truly a labyrinth. Finally found it, went in there, and looked at the menu. Where is the beverage menu? In order to conceal my confusion for not being able to locate the menu, I stayed calm and apologized to the clerk who was patiently waiting for me. Fortunately there was no other customer behind me. The beverage menu was on the monitor on the left, but the slides kept on changing. Oh Lord, I couldn't read that fast. I decided to order the Carmel frappe because that seemed to be a safe choice. The clerk who took our order also made my drink. It tasted good so everything worked out in the end. I didn't experience any customer service issue except I wish the beverage menu was written on the sold wooden board instead of on the electronic monitor that occasionally fleshed the menu for merely half second. read more

i eat here all the time. seriously. it's quite sad, actually. i've eaten here at all times of the day. breakfast, lunch, dinner. the food is usually pretty good! most of the people there know me by face (how pathetic is that) and greet me. i guess the best part of that is they give me discounts and free things once in awhile because of how often i come. they are also a test store so they'll have things that some other corner bakery's might not have. all the food can be hit and miss, but it's usually on the better side of things. they're willing to change orders for you if you like, and i enjoy that you can trade up your chips for a salad when you order a sandwich. the downside is how busy it can be. unfortunately, it's not usually the cashier that's slow, it's the customers. i rarely eat in the restaurant, but it can be a pain to find a table at times. the other part i dislike is because it's attached to maggiano's, you'll get a lot of through traffic of people walking there. read more

To be honest i love Corner Bakery's food, i use to go there on my break almost everyday. The reason I stopped going here was because the employees are unbelievably rude. The last two times i ate from there i had placed a pick up order, when i got there to pick it up the young girl told me to have a seat because it wasn't ready yet. I had been sitting there for 10 mins now and i see a bag behind the counter just sitting there, all the employees have walked past this bag a few times each and no one picked it up. I sat there for another 10 mins to find out that was my bag all along, it had just been sitting there, so by the time i got the food and took it back to work it was cold. The most recent time i called in a pick up order, i walked over to pick it up and when i walked up to the counter no one greeted me they all just stared at me and continued to ignore me. Finally another woman walked in and stood behind me after a few minutes she asked me if i had ordered yet, i said "no, ive been waiting here" and then the woman behind the counter finally spoke to me and said very rudely, "sorry but i have to make a cake right now". By this time there is a line of about 5 people and were all just standing there waiting to be taken care of. One of the employees behind the counter recognizes one of the customers 2 people behind and says i have your pick up order right here, she gives it to him, it ended up being mine. After all that i still had to wait there for them to remake my food and give it to me. Its a shame because i really do enjoy the food from this restaurant but i'm fed up with how they treat their customers, i will not be back. read more

Pretty good salads and not terrible soups make it a decent and quick place for lunch.

Everything here was delicious. It's a good place to have a meeting, too. Keep in mind that the sign is "Maggianos" Corner Bakery, so you can miss it if you don't know this. Two people at our meeting had trouble finding it since "Corner Bakery" was less prominent. read more

I love CBC! Definitely my favorite place to go for bagels before work. The food can be slow if you order something that needs to be prepared, but the prices are right and the location is super convenient for those of us who happen to work in the oakbrook center. read more

The cashier girl Jasmine is awful and so rude we came here to eat breakfast no greeting no good morning nothing and when she brought our food we said thank you she replied with yes in a rude way !!!! You don't go into chain restaurants with lit up menu boards with high expectations. My wife and I were in Redlands for my annual Loma Linda check up. i was a bit grumpy, so pleasing me would have been difficult. We found the interior to be pleasant, then I discovered that the food was very good, and unlimited refills on the coffee. A nice waitress couldn't have been more attentive if we were at the Ritz. I bought $100 worth gift cards to be distributed to my team at work. for which I got around $20 coupon from Corner Bakery. Love Corner Bakery, visit it twice a month for past 10 years. But the service you get when you present a coupon is like as though you are homeless and that you have come begging for food at this Oakbrook Mall location. Lunch Time I present the coupon and the server almost screaming at me I cannot give you any money back. Seriously if you were to buy food for cash the server across the counter will ask you any drink any cookies, nothing of that sort she kept on saying I cannot give you any money back. I guess she spit in my food too who knows. NEVER AGAIN GOING BACK TO THIS LOCATION. Stupid woman. Lack of training lack of knowledge, and just doesn't deserve to serve anyone.
