I just spoke with the very nice Owner of Wholey Granoly, Chris His wife, Natalie and the "sometimes Manager sometimes server" both know my husband and I

My first time visiting Wholey Granoly with my bestie and it was extremely satisfying and delicious. We each ordered the pistachio latte and that was sooooo good topped with sweet whipped cream and crunchy pistachio. She ordered a mushroom, spinach panini with sweet potato fries and that was soooo good and hearty. I got an vegetarian omelet with pancakes and that was pretty darn good. But I was most impressed with the service. Everyone was just so attentive on every level and it made the experience so much better on top of the good food. They have this super cute IG worthy wall and the place had plenty of seating with spacious booths and fun decor. Definitely a place I would go back for the yummy food and the wonderful service.

We went to IKEA and were starving, so we knew we had to eat so we didn't get hangry being lost in there for hours. We got wholey granoly to go and were pleasantly surprised. The highlight for me was the salad with Asian flavors (not finding what the name was on the menu) and the coconut pistachio shake. My partner got the heath shake and shrimp po boy. We weren't too impressed by the flavor of that; shrimp had that not fresh texture and slightly fishy flavor, in my opinion. The restaurant itself didn't have AC that day and it was SO HOT in there. I felt very bad for the wait staff and even more for the kitchen. The shakes we ate while waiting were nice to cool down. Overall pretty tasty!

I was impressed with the halal steak sandwich. Has a tasty chimichurri sauce and steak was cooked perfectly. The Mediterranean bowl with chic peas was light and fresh although I thought the crispy chic peas were a bit overdone. The salmon Benedict was tasty and we got it with poached eggs. The service was ok. The place itself is pretty ugly on the inside. The AC unit was broken. The bathroom is very dirty and it really threw me off. If I was rating it on food alone it would be 4 stars.

We were in town for a wedding and looking for something new to try. They have so many coffee and food options. I appreciated that they have some healthy options and can accommodate certain diets. I tried the carnitas skillet and I enjoyed it. The only downside was the salsa made it get soggy pretty fast. I had a side of pancakes, and they were delicious! I also had the coconut pistachio latte which had a unique flavor.

We came at 1pm. There were like 4 other groups that came at that same time too. We didn't have to wait too long and all the groups were seated pretty quickly. Had ordered the fried chicken BLTA. The chicken was fried and crispy. It was cooked a bit too long so it was a bit dry, but the avocado spread helped so it was still delicious. Fries had a bit of seasoning to it and was pretty good.

Wholly moley I'm in love with Wholey Granoly! I couldn't be more excited to find a restaurant with gluten/vegan pancakes. Pretty sure this is the first (or second) place I've found that offers it. I also loved how inclusive the menu is to lots of different groups of people. They market their ability to meet many dietary preferences, including Halal, vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free. $5 smoothies Monday-Thursday which I loved. The peach Melba pancakes were spectacular. I'm excited to come back!

Love this place, my favorite meals that are offered here are the bowls/wraps. Fast service, place is always nice and clean. My ONLY COMPLAINT is why in the world is there a charge for forks and spoons when you order to go???? Like ... am I expected to eat with my bare hands? That should be included.

It was exquisite. Great flavors, fresh squeezed orange juice was amazing. Overall great experience.

The food and smoothies were wonderful! The restaurant is nice. You can eat there or get food & smoothies to go easily. Our waitress was good.

I was excited to hear that Wholey Granoly was now offering halal options! Usually when we go out for breakfast we have to stick with veggie skillets or eggs benedict; not complaining, but grateful to have some meat options. The parking lot is spacious enough and it wasn't too busy when we went on Saturday morning. I like that there are two entrances: one for full service and one for quick service. We wanted to sit there and eat, so we chose the full service door. The interior is spacious and looks good enough for a fast casual place; the green & yellow decor is fine, but nothing to write home about. It was chilly inside, but then again it was 8:30 in the morning. In any case, we ordered a Brazilian steak skillet with a biscuit as the side, which came with two eggs, and a mini sampler for my son, which came with an egg, two small pancakes, and halal bacon. The Brazilian steak skillet was excellent. The steak and the chimichurri sauce were delicious, the potatoes were cooked nicely, and there was adequate cheese for a nice gooiness. My son enjoyed his scrambled egg and pancakes. Service was good and pricing was reasonable. Would definitely visit again.

Service was great, food even greater! It's a breakfast and brunch spot that did not disappoint. They have a more than generous selection for vegan! We will be going back, often!

All the food was delicious!! Very tasty, perfectly cooked and quality ingredients! The menu has basics plus very unique plates with lots of different flavors and options! There is surely something for everyone! Very impressed and now my go to breakfast and lunch spot. Inside is large with sit down seating. There's also a to-go counter and cafe for takeout. Host and server were friendly

I ordered online for carry out and the platform was easy to navigate. Once my husband and I arrived at the resto we were greeted by a very kind staff member. Our food wasn't ready but within 5 mins of us being there it was good to go. We tried the wonton soup and chicken dumplings app. Both were on the bland side. Normally I'm used to wonton soup also having noodles and theirs does not. Flavors were OK, felt like both dishes were missing spices. Everything was cooked perfectly though. Maybe we ordered the wrong items from here and need to try others instead.

In my experience, this signifies either the place was going to be a shithole to pass up, or it was a serious place to eat, then get out and go somewhere with an atmosphere. Happy to say J's (IMHO) is a serious place to eat. No-nonsense, direct and to the point. When I walked in, all those common chairs I mentioned were stacked upside down on the tables in the way that places do when they are closed. The taciturn fellow who worked there assured me they were indeed open, and explained they had just finish washing the floor. Please dont read any of this as negative-the best Chinese places I've ever been have looked like this-and if you've paid attention to the Travel/Food shows on the TeeVee, the joints in China itself are pretty much the same. On to the food, know this place is a Serious REAL-DEAL Chinese resto. I didn't notice if there were "Occidental" Chinese-type dishes on the carte, (primarily 'cos I wasn't looking for them). What I saw looked yum, and had a hard time making choices, even though I had read the menu multiple times and thought I know what I was going to order in advance. Confessionately, this is a chief feature for my tortured dining self-It's a wonder I even get fed in restaurants (especially the great ethnic ones), due to option anxiety. I zeroed in on "Street Noodles" for starters-wouldn't you? Then went to "Cold Beef Shank" for entreé. The Noodles were fab as was the Shank. The noodles were in a broth. with some hunks of bok choy and ground meat on top. Hearty, still light. The shank had a thin sauce complimenting but not obscuring the beefiness. One bugaboo: the Shank needed a bit of seasoning, and I wasn't going to use soy sauce, as I believed that would have marred the subtle flavors of the Beef. I asked for a salt shaker. It arrived, and I was a little taken back, 'cos it appeared it hadn't been washed in a while, and the salt inside was caked. It occurred to me this condition was present due to the non-use of said shaker. I don't think I've ever asked for a salt shaker in a Chinese resto. I pulled a toothpick out of my "Murse" and broke up the caked NaCl. Applying same to the pieces of Shank, the flavor bloomed and I was a happy boy. Bring some salt packets along when you visit "J's", maybe. The fellow who was waiter and cashier was a "western" fellow, whom I engaged and turned out to be quite an experienced foodie. some pleasant conversation indeed. Throwing 4 for this excellent establishment, with a few grains of salt separating it from 5...

It took about 15 for the roll to come out and then another 10-15 minutes for the samosa chaat out and they literally forgot the doodh pathi until we asked about it at the end. The excuse was that they were making it from scratch? The roll was decent, really just tasted and felt like they got the ingredients from Patel Brothers and threw it together. Same with the somosa chaat, which didn't even have a samosa. It was just one deconstructed samosa crushed along the plate and covered in yogurt and some chutneys. There was more chickpeas than samosa. Both dishes were something I'd expect to put together at home last minute if a guest showed up unannounced and even then i'd be embarrassed to serve this stuff. We got the doodh pathi finally as we were heading out and we expected a soothing drink of tea leaves brewed in milk. Unfortunately all you taste is milk. Wouldn't recommend

The gentleman serving us seemed to be the only one there, but he was friendly. We ordered a taktouka sampler, mixed grill platter, and lamb shank tagine. If you go to a Moroccan restaurant, you've got to get tagine. It took a little while for the food to come out, but overall it was excellent. The taktouka sampler was full of veggies. It was tasty, but I wish the carrots were cooked more to soften them. The mixed grill platter had chicken and beef kabobs, as well as something like a kefta (ground meat) kabob. The meats and rice were good, although the beef and chicken could have been more tender and juicy. The white sauce was a nice accompaniment. The lamb shank was excellent; nice tender meat, tasty rice, and delicious supplemental flavors from the figs and apricots. Overall, a very nice lunch.

The Port of Peri Peri has a storefront next to a Dunkin on Weber Rd in Bolingbrook, about half a mile north of I-55.  We tried them once before (in 2020) hoping for a better experience five years later, unfortunately that wasn't the case. My biggest hangup is that everything is just too expensive.  A ¼ chicken is $10 and comes with no sides, which are $4.50 each.  Compare this to Nando's where the same ¼ chicken is $7.75 and sides are just $3. The chicken & rice bowl ($18) was my wife's pick and she enjoyed it, however I don't think it was a good value.  Twenty bucks for what amounts to 4 chicken tenders over rice?  C'mon. I will say that their stuff is legitimately SPICY.  Even the 'mild' has plenty of punch, nevermind the 'hot' which sent me into a coughing fit.  Definitely steer towards the lower end of their heat scale. Their pop machine was out-of-order (and it appeared to have been for some time).  Dining room chairs weren't the comfiest, and the random chandelier - although elegant - doesn't in with fit the ambiance. Employees were nice. I used a coupon mailer for $5 off, which made the eyebrow-raising cost a bit more tolerable.  Without one, I probably wouldn't return. * TL;DR * I'm not a fan of overpaying, be it clothes, cars, or chicken(s). An a la carte sandwich here is a whopping $14!  (only $9 at Nando's) Also of note, these Peri fries don't come with a special mayo or anything for dipping.  Perhaps corn is a better choice? The best thing I can say about Port of Peri Peri is that they don't play around with spices.  When they say something is hot, they mean it.  Other than that, not too many redeeming qualities here.
