I visited Billy Bricks - Lombard Yorktown at 2770 Highland Ave, Lombard, IL 60148, today, Friday, September 4, 2026, at approximately 12:45 p.m. I traveled about 35 minutes specifically to try this restaurant, and one of the main reasons I made the trip was because it is a wood-fired pizza place. I was really looking forward to trying it. When we arrived at approximately 12:45 p.m., there were only four elderly women inside the restaurant. The atmosphere was nice, clean, comfortable, and quiet, and our waitress was kind, friendly, and very nice. We ordered a Margherita pizza and a Neapolitan pepperoni pizza with a light drizzle of honey. The service was extremely fast, and both pizzas were at our table in less than five minutes after we ordered, which was impressive. The flavor of the pizzas was good, and the crust was amazing. Unfortunately, the pizza itself was disappointing because it was extremely thin, almost like a piece of paper. When I picked up a slice, it immediately folded downward and could not hold its shape. Even when I tried to fold the slice, it simply collapsed instead of maintaining its shape. I understand that Neapolitan-style pizza is traditionally thin, but for my personal taste, this was simply too thin, and it took away from my enjoyment of the pizza. I was also surprised by how quiet the restaurant was during lunchtime, especially considering that it is located in a nice and busy area. The quiet atmosphere was pleasant, but after traveling approximately 35 minutes specifically to try a wood-fired pizza here, I had hoped the overall experience would be more memorable. I want to be fair because there were definitely things I liked: our waitress was very nice, the service was exceptionally fast, the atmosphere was pleasant, the flavor was good, and the wood-fired crust was amazing. However, the extremely thin pizza was the biggest disappointment for me and ultimately affected my overall experience. I am glad I made the trip and tried Billy Bricks for myself, but based on this visit, I would give it three stars. I believe the restaurant has potential, and if the pizza had a little more structure and substance while maintaining the excellent flavor and quality of the wood-fired crust, I would have enjoyed the experience much more. read more

First, we should look at the layout of Bricks. It is not a sit down Italian restaurant or pizzeria. It is "fast food" pizza where you order at the counter and wait for it to be cooked then go home or bring it to a seat and eat there. For "fast food" pizza, this is the best. I love the thin crust because it allows it to be chewy, but not doughy. The crust is the best part. You can make your own or have one of their per-designed pizzas. I got the classic sausage and it was very delicious. The pizzas seem a little pricey, but the ingredients are fresh and the pizzas are big. I will get one for myself and it feeds me for two days. You are basically paying for two meals! I got their salad too. The lettuce appeared crisp and fresh which is all you can ask for in a salad from a "fast food" pizza restaurant. Good afternoon Foodzies, we just had a great time at Billy's Wood fired Bricks pizza in Lombard. 2770 highland ave. The restaurant has a rustic look with wooden table tops on top of galvanized pipes fitted together as the frame for the tables. We attended a pizza making class given by Peter, who was outstanding. He was personable, knowledgeable and had a great demeanor. Also there were Carlos, Samir and Conner. They added to our wonderful experience. We sampled their margarita pizza and their 4 cheese pizza. Both were fantastic, also their fresh bruschetta, it had a light balsamic and fresh tomatoes and basil. We learned a lot about what goes into making pizza from the region on Naples in Italy. We also were told that all of their ingredients is authentic from that region. The pizzas are cooked in a huge pizza oven which weighs 2 1/2 tons. We were then allowed to make our own pizza under the tutelage of Carlos their master pizza maker and Peter. Glenda chose to make her pizza with chicken, ham, mozzarella and tomatoes. Great choices the flavors worked well together. I went a little wilder. Choosing sausage, spinach, bacon, goat cheese, prosciutto and mushrooms. It may sound weird but it was wonderful. In that regard, I was kind of disappointed. Chicago is known for pizza and hot dogs, and I cannot say that this pizza says "Chicago." It was good, but not great.
