a few bits already gone from the 2nd half of my wrap

My general opinion of in-house restaurants is that they are over-priced and under-good, but our lunch at Cornelia disproved me big time! Every person with whom we had contact was enthusiastic, friendly, informative. If you sit at a table inside the actual restaurant, someone will come and take your order and deliver it to you. If you sit at one of their tables in the town square, you need to place your order at the counter, but someone still delivers your order to you. There is no price difference. We ordered at the counter b/c we wanted to enjoy the brightness of the town square. Companion enjoyed the roasted beet grain salad, while I enjoyed the turkey salad wrap, which came with a generous side of fresh fruit (alternative sides were also available). see photos. The turkey salad included a good-size, but not overwhelming, helping of fresh greens along with tasty chunks of turkey, in a wrap that was supersized. I only ate 1/2, took the rest home in a compostable takeout container which they graciously provided. The only negative was that the honeydew was a bit under-ripe and so very crunchy. Entrance to the town square and to Cornelia is always free, so this cafe can be enjoyed without paying museum admission, a bonus. They also serve dinner a few evenings a week, and Sunday brunch. There are few dining spots in that neighborhood; how lovely to have this one!

While placing our order was completely seamless, our food was not as good as in the past. Today we…read moreordered the Box. The protein choices are: 4 flavors of chicken, 2 flavors of tri-tip steak, Korean BBQ pork or tofu. The protein is served on purple rice with a side of Cole slaw. For our additional sides( choices were sweet potatoes, rosemary potatoes, Brussels sprouts, mac and cheese. I picked both of the potato sides. The Cole slaw seemed watery, and the steak, which had nice flavor, was a bit chewy. I think tri-tip tends to be tougher as it has little or no fat on it. The potatoes and rice were nice and flavorful. I have had very good bowl meals here in the past. I think the bowls, with more ingredients served together, is a better flavor boost than "the Box".

It's been some time since I came last but we always pick up where we left off. My go-to-bowl is the Steak Bacon Blue salad. I usually substitute the tomatoes for picked onions and add potatoes (the potatoes are a new thing I been trying lately bc of the new steakhouse bowl they offer and wanting to try them) Always 10 out of 10 when they don't skimp on the vinaigrette. The regular size bowl always gives me enough. I'm actually not convinced hoarder size comes with a significant amount more than the regular. I shall return CoreLife!

Cafe 59 - Turkey burgundy sandwich with a bag of Lay's. $17.25 before tax and tip. Definitely not worth it.

My first time here and it didn't disappoint. We stopped by with some friends after grabbing some…read moredrinks in the area to get some dinner. I ordered the Harvest salad and my husband ordered the grilled chicken pesto sandwich. The salad was fresh and delicious with plenty of toppings. The vinagarette was absolutely perfect. The fresh roasted turkey was juicy and flavorful. I was thrilled that it wasn't processed lunch meat. My husband said his sandwich was a generous portion, delicious and hit the spot. The service was very good and the food came out quick. Bonus points because they are open on Mondays.

I miss Cafe 59...and used to overlook the fact that potato wedges aren't included with the sandwiches, the falafel burger is always mushy in the middle, they don't include enough dressing with their salads...and things are sloppily prepared. I overlooked all of that because they use whole foods and the taste was decent. Fast forward to 2025, I've included a photo of a turkey burgundy sandwich with a small bag of Lay's (weird choice, but ok) and a pickle spear, which costs $17.25 before you even add tax or tip. What?? I totally get that costs are rising for everyone including restaurants, but this isn't in line with what you can get at other places, even on the same street. If you can't sell your original menu at reasonable prices anymore, then you need to adjust it. We won't be back.

I have had some good experiences with great food here before but this most recent time was…read moredisappointing. I tried the Caesar Salad, the fish taste overwhelmed the dish in an unappetizing way. I couldn't taste the parmesan or lemon or any other flavors. The croutons were tough and tasteless. The menu listed orange as an additional ingredient, which sounded interesting, but it was nowhere to be found when the dish arrived. I also got the French Onion Hummus to share, absolutely delicious, we've had it before. Unfortunately a lot of tables were dirty and the floor was covered in pretzels crumbs, some other crumbs as well. Really not conducive to dining. I do hope that these issues are improved upon because as I have said, my previous experiences have been much better!

Wow, fantastic evening here last night on a double date. We made reservations for 7pm for 4 of us…read more(they only do dinner Thursdays and Fridays). And we ended up being the last table there! The restaurant is located just inside the center of the museum, and there was live music in the middle courtyard just outside the restaurant. The ambience was a cool vibe - there is this huge mural on one wall, and the opposite wall is glass from floor to ceiling looking out (to where the live music was). The tables were so simple but had flowers and cool table lamps. I started with a glass of wine, and we split the whipped feta as an appetizer. They also brought some fresh bread with balsamic olive oil. Both fantastic and warmed my soul. I ordered the Filet, and it was so perfectly seasoned and cooked - I mean, can't really go wrong with steak that's drizzled with bacon butter! The others ordered the salmon with squid ink pasta and the scallops. All were so beautifully plated and delicious. And we ended with the Ube Creme Brulee which was a great way to end the night. We ended up being there for about 2 hours. I wouldn't recommend dinner if you just looking for a quick bite. I'd go for more of an experience. Not that the service was slow, but I think the kitchen and wait staff were just thoughtful with their creating, plating, and serving. Hoping that they change their menu up every so often so we can try more creations!
