Corndog. When I see that word, I think of some of the thousands of these I've eaten in my lifetime around the world! (Yes, the are corndogs outside of the US and Korea! I've had them in Germany, Luxembourg, Turkey, and Panama.) I may be biased towards the Fletcher Corndog taste, textures, aroma, consistency and stick. This is not of the old version Fletcher's. For my first visit, I was rather surprised! The location is somewhat off the beaten path but easy to get to. Parking is readily available. They have a nice patio with umbrella covered tables! Plenty of seating inside, lots of large TVs, a bar!, and a trinket stand on the wall as you order and pay! The decor is quite white, really! Lots of white! The menu is substantial! There are some gourmet dogs and treats plus some decadent sounding funnel cakes! There are breakfast sausage, beef, turkey and some other options, like salads or CBD infused. I picked the classic so I could have a fair comparison THIS visit. (The "Artisanal" menu convinced me I MUST come back.) This classic has a much finer consistency and texture than the "other original" dog I grew up eating. The mixed meat dog (smoked pork and beef) is more dense and does have a good flavor. It has a finer consistency as well. Its fried batter texture holds the mustard tightly to it. (I do believe a good corn dog allows eating a lot of mustard!) These are fresh dipped, not from a frozen wrapped corny dog and even have a little nib from the dipping at the end. The sticks are flat which allows a better grip and twisting when drizzling mustard or eating. The length of the stick is a little shorter than I like, (Yes, I like like a really good grip so I can wave it around and use it as an accent to my conversations!) The batter has a interesting flavor and isn't as sweet. It does a great job of not overpowering the mustard or dog flavor. All in all a really good corndog! The t-shirts were worth a few giggles as was the corndog necklace. I know people that would want those. The bar may not be well stocked, but they offer a variety of popular beers and wines. Yes, I know, what wine pairs with a breakfast sausage corn dog? The Potent Potables drink menu has some smile if not drunk worthy options! Price is very reasonable compared to Fair prices. I wanted to give this place 5 stars. Let me preface this with the WORKERS are ROCKSTARS. The cook and cashier was holding it down. They just could not support the demand. Wrong orders were being handed out, the wait was longer than I wanted but their attitudes stayed positive. I had a yelp coupon that was not honored because the staff knew nothing of it. The State Fair being closed this year is devastating, as it's my favorite day of the year. Luckily, they did a drive thru event so you can have your photo with Big Tex, but there was no food. LUCKILY, there's Corn Dog With No Name, 15 to 20 minutes from the fair grounds (the GPS got us lost). While it was definitely an experience, (you'll see), being able to eat that infamous corn dog and a funnel cake made me feel like my back-up Fair day was truly complete. So why was it an experience? The restaurant itself is closed except for take out, but for safety you can't take out by walking in the store. They don't have a drive thru, so they got really creative. When you pull into the parking lot, there are little signs everywhere that have arrows to the place that say "corn dog" and "funnel cake this way" and "no name". You then pull up to a sign that has a QR code for the menu. You then call a number and the owner opens the back door and talks to you on the phone. It was odd, but kind of fun. You then read your card info over the phone to pay and a man in a mask brings you a bag with your order. Multiple people in your car paying for their food? No problem. They're willing to split it off and place orders back to back with one phone call. I'm disappointed we didn't get to go before Covid - it's extremely far from where we live - because the store itself looks so cute in pictures and I would have loved the luxury funnel cakes. While the offerings they have now are still varied, some of the fun sides aren't offered and there's only the standard funnel cake. I also wish they would have let us sit at the outdoor patio seating. We parked and sat in the grass in front of the building they share with Jason's Deli but there were ants AND they offer alcohol and we were nervous someone may not be pleased we were sitting in a parking lot with open White Claws. I did like that they automatically packed condiments and napkins without asking, cause it didn't even cross my mind. There definitely should be more than 1 ketchup for the fry order since it brings a lot, but they were tasty plain too. They also pack up the powdered sugar for the funnel cake so that it doesn't get weird before you eat it and so you can determine how much coating you want. I wish it were closer because I want to go back, but I'm really thankful we went and it gave me a little taste of our cancelled yearly tradition. read more

My first impression was that everything inside was so nice and clean! Although it was state-fair food, it was presented in such a chic manner! The staff looked and sounded very professional. Their menu was simple to grasp and navigate. They have a good set of meal deals, one of which I chose for my dinner. The plain corn dog tasted like a high quality corn dog, but I'm not sure it was worth $6. I am excited to go back soon to try another type of corn dog that has better toppings. The location on Luther Lane is closed so I came here instead. The service is very friendly! We ordered the Bonfire funnel cake & it was flambéed tableside! Apparently that's how it's supposed to be done but I don't think they were doing that at the Luther location. MY VEGANS! There is a "plant based" option but I was told at the Luther location that the batter is NOT vegan. The only vegan option here may be the curly fries (but they're delicious!). I'm vegetarian and was pleased that they had both vegan and vegetarian options (not sure if they use the same batter as they do with the meat, so be sure to ask). I came across this restaurant months ago and have had them only list to try for since. This weekend I found out about this location and new I had to stop in to try them. OMG!! Everything was sooo yummy. I was too excited and forgot to take pics, but here is the run down. Taster Trio: This is highly recommended if you want to try the basic menu. it comes with three mini dogs (one classic, one beef and one spice). Each is breaded with a breading that is crispy outside but still soft enough inside to create a perfect bite. My favorite of the three was the spice! It has a little kick but it isn't super spicy at all. The Brunch: If you have ever eaten the sausage dog wrapped in pancakes and enjoyed them, then this is for YOU!! The funnel cake batter mimics the pancake and the bacon outer layer made this one of the best corn dogs bites I had ever eaten. The Bacon: This one is also perfection for all of the reasons stated above! The spice dog + bacon... it's great! The atmosphere is also really nice. Down Dallas way for work when my local counterpart mentions a restaurant he's heard about - the name is under construction due to some legal family issues but they sell some delicious Artisanal Corn-Battered franks. Being a fan of the Corndog and having had one for breakfast from a gas station - I figured why not? I arrived and was immediately greeted by the founder/owner who immediately gave me a menu as the electronic menu was a bit far away. Super friendly staff! Every single staffer there had a giant, genuine smile. They were all extremely helpful and made the experience that much better. Not going to lie I didn't know this place was there but then I saw all of the signs that they strategically placed in the grass driving in that direction. I love a good corndog but I love fried Oreos and funnel cakes even more. The young man who is working at the front counter was awesome, very friendly and encouraged me to get the fried Oreos which was a solid choice. And they have a lot of kinks to work out. They are open, this is not a soft opening. If you are going to sell salad--and I cannot stress this enough--you need lettuce. We ordered a great sounding salad to have them come to our table and let us know they didn't get lettuce that day. The manager had no idea. Also, couldn't do a refund. After some poking of my credit card they decided to give me cash and put a note in the register. Our order came out missing things, soup and sauce. I couldn't eat until I had my soup to dip my cheese dog into and my sauce...so, I had to sit there and wait, and wait, and wait. Also, if you want more than standard mustard and ketchup, it costs a buck and that includes ranch. If you are going to charge me $3 for iced tea, then the tea should be available for me to get refills. There's no one coming to my table to refill my tea glass, so I have to stand in line so the person at the register can refill my tea. Put the paper towel holder on the table. I know it's not aesthetically pleasing, but everyone needs a paper towel during the day. I don't want to dig under condiments to get the paper towel holder and carry it to the table. Why am I tipping? Lunch for 2 people will come to $40 if you tip, which I do. The tomato basil soup with a corn cheese is good. The soup is hearty, sort of Italian seasoned. The spicy corn dog is also good. Average corn dog is $8, so the pricing is the same as if you were at the fair. read more

( Will have to rectify next time!). Oh hell yes!! Destiny greeted us as we came in the door. We ordered the Tasty Trio - one each of the Classic, Spicy, and Beef Corn dogs. They also gave us the ranch, Jace, and Gorgonzola sauces to try. All the sauces were good, but the Jace was outstanding. Thing is, the food is so good, you don't need the sauces!! We also ordered the bacon cheddar jalapenos - man, were those sooooo good!! Fresh pepper with tasty cheddar and chunks of bacon in a delectable fried batter. OMG, so delicious...and fun. Getting there, ordering is sort of an adventure...but well worth it. Their corn cob/elote was amazing!

Food was great if not a bit pricy. We had classics (I mean you can't go wrong there) and a texican cob. The corn was perfect, sauces were tangy. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The decor gives a nod to the state fair of course, but extra touches were awesome. Cute kids corner, hooks for handbags (why can't every restaurant do this?) and games to play while you wait.
