I love it here! I've been here many times with my family; I love their salad, soup, and drink options. They have an array of options available, which are all very healthy and fresh. The food is made to order and is always delicious. I love finding new salad places; I'm glad this place is very convenient. I love trying different salads here and trying out different toppings and dressings. I can't wait to stop back in.

We went to core to get a light lunch, and it was worth it! It's nothing fancy but definitely a little spot to grab something quick! They have all kinds of salads, wraps and sandwiches. You order and you go right down the line and can personalize your order! No servers here, they just make your food in front of you. They also have yummy lemonades and teas! Definitely nice for a summer lunch.

The dark part is rotten lettuce. And they could've kept the stump. Seriously, check your lettuce

Wanted a salad, this was not my first choice, but went because it was open. Next time I'll go home and make my own

I love the atmosphere, I am happy, I am home. I walked in and I was hit with the most beautiful smell, the smell of veggies and love. The service was excellent, everyone in my party got their food quickly/efficiently. #foodisourcommonground

    Cranberry vinaigrette that is green???

I guess it's never too late to learn a lesson. Typically I read reviews of eateries before I buy from them but the local CoreLife eatery in Camillus always has so many people going in and out. I just figured it would be a good choice. I was wrong. Tonight was my first time trying them and I ordered a Steak & Bleu salad, which comes with bacon and walnuts only to get home to find they forgot the blue cheese, the walnuts, AND the bacon- literally most of the salad. It boggles my mind that a steak and bleu cheese salad could be missing the Bleu cheese, but again, lesson learned. This salad came w cranberry vinaigrette- which is confusing because the flavor profiles don't go together- and it's green as shown in the photos. I don't know where you get green cranberries from, but I tasted it and it does taste like cranberry except it's a putrid green color which is unappetizing. Moving on.... I also ordered a side of roasted brussels sprouts with maple drizzle. As you can see in the photo, there were four items in my Brussel sprouts which look like stems and just to be sure I bit down on one to see - and it's hard and totally inedible - a serious choking hazard. Quite frankly, this is the most ridiculous takeout order I've ever had. Whoever owns this particular, CoreLife or manages it should retrain their staff - or they'll continue to get bad reviews like this one and lose customers, like me.

Wrong taco, bad Mac and cheese :(

Oh my gosh! My husband and I just ordered from here and it was atrocious! We were so excited, I'm so disappointed! We ordered 2 korean bbq pork mac and cheeses and 2 steak fajita tacos (one substitute chicken) and everything was wrong! The lady serving us gave us barely any mac and cheese and the meat was entirely fat and the max and cheese was dried out-- however they managed to do that. I spit it out immediately. I am sick! The tacos, instead of steak, we were given pork. It's like the server didn't even listen to us. We also requested a side of the bbq and she gave us some balsamic thing? I am not sure but it was not correct. Very disappointed.

1 year after my first review for this place and we still frequent this place!! Have come here often for a quick tuna poke fire bowl lunch as well!!

Steak bacon and blue, tossed and very light. I am a small person and didn't fill me, let alone my bf
    Kathy L.

I was excited to see this location since I love Core. But I was very disappointed in the portion sizes. I always get the steak, bacon and blue, which they said is only available in the "big" size now. My salad was light on mesclun mix which is a cheap ingredient. Also, I only got a very small portion of steak which was disappointing. It wasn't even busy so they cannot say they were in a rush. 2 salads for $24 and it wasn't even filled to the top of the container. Also, the bread was stale.

    Salads and drinks.

We arrived to a busy atmosphere that quieted down throughout the night. We started with cocktails which were strong and delicious. The brussel sprout appetizer was to die for, who knew that brussel sprouts go well with blue cheese! I ordered the salmon dish which was incredible. My friend enjoyed the Greek chicken dish. We were disappointed we didn't have enough room for dessert so we'll just have to come back! Other notes: the service was friendly and there was extra parking across the street if necessary. I read up on the menu and discovered they offered lamb chops which is one of my absolute favourites. A taste of home for me! Friendly and efficient staff welcomed us and showed us to our table. So far so good. Very nice young woman looked after us. My wife ordered the rigatoni and I had the chops. She loved her rigatoni so much she's finishing it off 2 days later and still loving it. Sadly my dish was a bit of a disappointment. My two large chops were extremely fatty. It's the kind you simply can't cut through on a slippery plate. Trying to separate what little meat there was from the fat was impossible so I had to give up and bring it home to a cutting board and an extremely sharp knife. I haven't tried to eat it yet but it looks as fatty as the first. Both had been totally covered by a condiment that I think should have been served in a separate container to allow the diner to regulate the amount desired. The base was a pilf which made trying to cut the chops even more difficult because every time the meat or the knife slipped, the table was showered with grains....all a bit slapstick....! As I previously said, my wife loved her meal and the previous visit was epic so I hate to criticise but I'm just trying to be honest and fair. I think $45 for a couple of very fatty chops with not much meat and smothered in a vinaigrette you might not like is a bit cheeky... In different circumstances I would have sent it back. Oh well, you live and learn...

The food is wildly…read moreinconsistent; sometimes, we're surprised at how good a dish is (usually a special or seasonal dish), but if we order it again, it's never the same. The biggest issues: - Many things seem to have a lot of oil involved. From the side vegetables to the burgers to the "garlic bread" served on the side of the pasta dishes - there's a strong, oily taste. It's not a pleasant oil - my guess is it's ostensibly neutral, like a vegetable or canola, though it leaves a flavor that suggests it's not entirely neutral. Perhaps a fake butter? Why it's so ubiquitous is anyone's guess, but it leaves an unpleasant film in your mouth. While I understand restaurants use a lot more oil/butter than home cooking (it's often why we like restaurant food better), this oil is not good. - The fries. I guess some people like them; I loved shoestring fries as a kid, but these aren't the same. They have no flavor (aside from the aforementioned oil), and they're the consistency of McDonald's fries, but drier and harder. Recently, we got an order that came with a new, more traditional style fry, and they were so good. We were excited that they finally ditched the cardboard variety but that apparently was a one-off - today showed that they seemed to revert to the old style, unfortunately. - They had an amazing chicken bacon ranch pizza for a while, until one day when it was gone. I think the secret was smoked Gouda, but whatever they used, it was a great pizza. When it disappeared from the menu, I inquired and was told, "oh yeah, lots of people are asking for that." So I said, "is it coming back, then?" I was told it's "doubtful," which kinda sums up my experiences there. Everyone loved it and wants it back? Better get rid of it, then. - The kids menu options are somewhat insulting to children. The "grilled cheese" uses what appear to be hamburger buns, so carelessly made that they seldom match up (that is, the top will be skewed off so the sandwich isn't put together). The kids pasta dishes are just plain noodles, usually undercooked, with no seasoning (i.e. salt) or other attention to preparation. The inconsistency is really the biggest issue for me. Things range from "fine" to "bad," but even if you stick with one menu item, you don't know what you're going to get. Non-chain, family-friendly restaurants are seemingly hard to find in this area, so I really wish they were better. We've kept at this place far longer than we probably should, again due to convenience, and because every now and then, a dish will be surprisingly good. However, those instances are becoming so rare, I think we're done for a good while. I do hope they improve.

I asked them if they could get me a clean cup and they ended up bringing the same one as the same mark and crumb were still there. For food, our table ordered a few items to share. We got: -CAULIFLOWER WINGS: The chutney/salsa on top of the fried cauliflower was nice and gave the item a little sour kick. However, the cauliflower itself was not cooked fully so not as soft as I wanted it to be. -SYRACUSE POUTINE: The appearance of the poutine was not the best. However, the gravy it came with was very flavorful and tasty. The potatoes themselves were not fried and were in wedge form but went well with the gravy. The small globs of melted cheese on top were a nice complement. -CAJUN SLIDERS: The slider compliments/sauce went well together but the sliders themselves had grill marks on it which gave a bitter bite to those parts of the slider. Additionally, the fried shrimp inside of the slider still had the tail on and so it was a bit of a surprise to bite into a full tail while eating a slider. All in all, a cute spot to see people but food had some hit or miss components.

Full disclosure I did share a direct message with them through Resy I never heard back from them, which tells me volumes. Small things like the barstools being too low to the bar as we were having cocktails it was so uncomfortable. We decided to have our cocktails at our table. Our server, the hostess and bartender were attentive and amazing. The main reason we came to the restaurant was the Duck meal they wound up being out of by 6:30 that night. My husband did choose as a substitute the braised lamb shank with the mint gremalata. Lamb was very tender, but 100% lacking in every way of the mint flavor. My swordfish was cooked perfectly, although plain and I was excited about turnips As I love them. Unfortunately they came out raw tasteless and inedible. I commented to our waiter and he said well they're Japanese so that's the way they are. All in all the dessert menu left us flat so we went out to another place for dessert & after dinner drinks. The percentage they add to your check for the back of the house gratuity is offensive. Just pay your people more and don't expect the diners to have to Pay up for your kitchen staff, as well as tipping the front of the house staff which got less of a tip because we had a tip the back of the house. All the hype some of it's real, most of it's not, glad we tried. It won't be back. There are too many other places and Upstate, New York.

I was the only returning patron, the others much enjoyed their first time here. Walking through the front door you're instantly hit with a wonderful smell of food cooking over an open fire. Got a terrific table to look out the window and enjoyed a nice evening view. Took full advantage of every food meal course available. Started out with their evening appetizer of homemade bread with cinnamon butter. Each of us got our own dinner choice along with small plates to start. The two small plates were green lentil salad and ember roasted carrots. Both of them with their unique flavor and style. The green lentil salad featured heirlooms. The ember roasted carrots featured labrieth, doqqa, and maple syrup. Keep in mind everything here comes from local farms and local breweries and distilleries. Big fan of supporting the state and local community. Fantastic! They feature only a few main entrées, tonight's included halibut, steak, chicken, and sea Island peas with jasmine rice. Knowing how well seasoned their steaks are, I went with a filet mignon 10 ounce. Probably a little more than I should've gotten, but I very rarely eat steak and know how well and good they are here. Ordered the steak medium to medium rare and that's exactly how it came out. Mouth watering delicious. Along with the steak includes mashed potatoes, chimichurri, kale, and. crème fraiche. Every bite was outstanding. One of us got ice cream for dessert which she said was very good. The ice cream was made right there at the restaurant. We kicked off the dinner with a rum cocktail and a tequila cocktail. All spirits locally sourced. If you haven't tried it here yet you should. You will not be disappointed.

We were promptly seated and ordered glasses of wine while perusing the menu, which is on the smaller side. That usually means everything on it is rather good, so we had high expectations. We started with the Mushroom Toast, Ember Roasted Carrots, and Beef Tartar. I'll start with the bad and finish with the good. The Ember Roasted Carrots were a complete miss. They were trying to go for a middle-eastern flavor, with each ingredient contrasting, while the carrot served as the centerpiece to flavor. I found this to be INCREDIBLY bland. The carrots were not salted enough during roasting and lacked enough char. They dish also needed more labneh than it was served with. It literally just tasted like carrots and yoghurt. Honestly, if I could only give one critique it would be to have used more salt, but this dish was a real disappointment. The Beef Tartar suffered from a similar issue. It was bland. Not enough salt was used. It unfortunately tastes like flat beef. I overheard the bartender talking to another couple and he told them they really want to highlight the ingredients. The idea is purity or something like that. And that's well and good, but you still need to season beef tartar. I don't think this is necessarily a poor execution of the dish(es) rather this is more in line with the philosophy of the kitchen, and that's fine. It's just not for me. And now for the good. The Mushroom Toast was great. It had all the things I had wanted. Fat, salt, umami, freshness. This was a good dish and I would get this again. As for the entrees, my husband and I ordered the Cappelletti and the NY Strip. The Cappelleti was the strongest dish of the night. The flavors were layered and intentional. This was a great dish and I1000% would get it again. My husband ordered the NY Strip along with bone marrow. It was cooked to perfection. Cooking it over a wood fire gave it a great char and almost Smokey flavor. It was very flavorful. The chimichurri made the steak feel lighter than it actually was. My husband loved it and I loved having a bite or two of everything together. This was a complete dish and I'd highly recommend it. The only knock I could give it is the bone marrow. There was a lack of volume in it which is probably due to being cooked over a wood fire. Parts of the bones were also over roasted. I'd skip this the next time and get the foie gras pate. Lastly, for desert we were disappointed that we could not try the rice pudding as they were out of it (we will try it the next time if available). We did however order the Flourless Chocolate Torte to share. It was made perfectly. It was rich and decadent but remained light. It was almost like a mousse, but not quite. We loved it. Overall, the had a great time. There were several highlights and I think they make up for the a couple of the earlier dishes. I'd like to see what else they have to offer when they change their menu.

Even though the restaurant only had two large parties and wasn't particularly busy, we still waited 35 minutes to be seated. That alone didn't make sense, but things only went downhill from there. It was my daughter's birthday, and we were hoping for a fun brunch. Our server started off friendly, but that changed quickly. We ordered our drinks and food at the same time--a chai tea for me, a specialty alcoholic milkshake for my daughter, and no drink for her boyfriend, plus three entrées and a poutine. The drinks took 50 minutes to arrive. The food took over an hour and a half. During all this, the server seemed to avoid our table entirely. When my daughter's boyfriend finally managed to get her attention--very politely, even mentioning that he himself is a server--he simply asked if she had an estimate on our food. She stood there with her hand on her hip and told us the kitchen was backed up, with "three orders ahead of yours," as if that explained everything. We then asked if the poutine, our appetizer, was at least ready. She said they had to make fresh potatoes for it but that she would "rush it." Eventually, she came back with the poutine, plopped it down on the table, and walked away without a single word. No "here you go," no "do you need anything," and--most importantly--no plates. I ended up getting up and asking the hostess for plates so we could actually eat the appetizer. For a place that markets itself as a "fancy diner" with "Instagram-worthy" dishes, the service and execution were nowhere near acceptable. If you're going to lean into trendy presentation and premium pricing, you need the staff to support it. Hire more people. Train them. Do something--because this was unacceptable from start to finish. We won't be returning, and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone looking for a smooth, enjoyable dining experience. **EDIT** I would like to include the fact of the over priced, over salted, food items don't seem to cover the cost to upgrade your cracked booths so that people's bums are hurt from sitting on them. Needs to be updated and correct staffing issues so that food will be "adequate" for the price. Go anywhere on Westcott than here.
