Before our Costco visit last Saturday, we decided to try Mitsuba. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The unassuming restaurant is located in a shopping plaza near Costco. You wouldn't know how beautiful the restaurant is inside if you were just walking by. There are lots of windows for natural light and buddha statues everywhere. The color selections for the walls and furniture are elegant and aesthetically pleasing[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. The sushi was excellent! I had California, spicy salmon, and shrimp tempura rolls with miso soup. My husband had California, spicy tuna, and Boston rolls with onion soup. They also brought us out a little tempura appetizer. We definitely left stuffed and satisfied. Our server was kind and efficient, we received our meals quite quickly. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this restaurant!

Here is my burnt lobster and there's some burnt scallops in there and my burnt tasting lo mein noodles AKA really spaghetti
    Denise W.

Worst meal I've ever had and I wish I had read the reviews before because it seems to be people that get food delivered or takeout. I had ordered the hibachi lobster and scallops .My food was burnt. I also ordered a side of lo mein noodles that look like spaghetti that was just tinted a little bit. It had a burnt flavor to it and that was it. Very disappointed our first time ever ordering from there and trust me it'll be my last. It's not cheap to order especially lobster and scallops. I expected a little bit something better than that one and done with this place. Together with my husband's meal we spent $93 with tip and everything else.

3.5 stars. This place is located in a busy mall area. We were seated immediately early on a Sunday though it was pretty packed. They have a happy hour (1/2 off certain appetizers and some drink specials). We tried edamame, tempura vegetables, a sushi deluxe and scallop hibachi (upgrade to noodles). Our table mates got a sushi boat and thai iced tea. I am glad I did not get a thai tea as it was very mostly milk. Edamame and tempura was standard (I did notice that the happy hour portion is proportional - the tempura portion was smaller than regular appetizer size, but still a good deal). I did overall enjoy the hibachi - scallops were cooked perfectly with good sear. I was disappointed in the noodles (they were thin greasy noodles without any tasty hibachi/grill taste and not worth the upcharge). The sushi was the most disappointing. Very thin slices of fish on huge chunks of rice. Sushi rice was slightly hard/not very tasty. The sushi boat had beautiful presentation - sushi looked similar to the sushi deluxe in that there was a large amount of rice. Overall we are glad we tried this place but not a standout.

We stopped at Mitsuba before a long back to back movie session last weekend. Never having been there, we were surprised by how affordable the prices were for lunch. And then we received our food! We were SO impressed by the presentation, and the flavor, of our food. The restaurant seemed like a nice setting for a casual lunch OR a date, with windows that lit the space we were sat in well. The commentary roll was tasty, before moving into our lunch plates that came with miso soup as well. The rolls I had were pretty good, the spicy yellowtail and the shrimp tempura (which had an upcharge). I was able to have a 3 course lunch for $21, which is mind blowing. The servers were very kind and ensure our table was cleared between each course as well. We will definitely be back.

Pretty good sushi for Western New York. The paradise roll was really good. Volcano roll was good, a tad bland maybe? The ginger dressing on the salad was spot on! The gyoza appetizer was super oily but tasty otherwise. Cons- the heat in the bathroom is sooo stifling! Feel Ike u could suffocate in there! Also, please dust your windows and blinds.

Food was amazing!! We got the Emperor's Deluxe for 2 and the dragon sushi roll! It was amazing! The sushi roll was huge!!! And the emperor deluxe was perfect for two people, it came with salad, your choice of noodles, white rice or fried rice and there was steak, shrimp, chicken, lobster and vegetables. We even had some to take home!! The servers were delightful and very attentive to us! The environment was clean and amazing. Not too loud, it was perfect!! Definitely will go back!

I tried Mitsuba for the first time tonight and was beyond impressed with the quality of the food. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The location is convenient and the interior of the building is gorgeous, it's open but not overly noisy with a very welcoming environment.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff was friendly and quick with the to go order, definitely will be returning.

Loved this place. I was looking for a hibachi place in the area and found this restaurant. I'm so glad I stopped by. Their hibachi tables are closed for several months, due to a staffing shortage. I was still able to order hibachi though. It was amazing! I would definitely come back here again!

Large restaurant, plenty of space to accommodate guests. The sushi was good and priced appropriately! Cocktail was delicious as well!

The Sushi was pretty good; service was quick on point. Plenty of parking. The place was pretty busy and the staff kept up plus gave us a free rol:)

Take out of hibachi Emperor's Deluxe for 2- substituted noodles. So delicious

I have eaten inside here and also done takeout. We had a large group for hibachi for a family members anniversary. The staff was so accommodating, even getting in on the anniversary celebration themselves. The hibachi is some of the best around and I love that you can for a small charge get noodles instead of rice.

Popped in here after my Costco trip for dinner, and it wasn't crowded! I was seated right away and decided to go with the chicken hibachi with a side of the fried rice and was amazed! The hibachi and fried rice were both on the light side and tasted amazing! I saw everyone recommended the fried rice in their reviews, and it was really good! I hope to come back later and try some of their sushi!

Sashimi deluxe- major points for presentation.
    Ev L.

I have to say, the plating on my deluxe sashimi is one of the more impressively over-the-top things I have received in central New York! It was exciting and fun. Props for that! I was with a very large group, and the staff worked very hard to see to everyone's needs. I ordered the deluxe sashimi and the tempura appetizer. I never got my soup (which I didn't realize until after I left) and had to ask for my tea, which I didn't get until close to the end of my meal. These things are pretty understandable with the chaos of tending to a group of like 40 people who mostly had separate checks, honestly, so I don't begrudge them too much, but I did spend a fair amount to not get all of my order. The tempura was really delicious. Lots of sweet potato type stuff, which is one of my favorites! The sashimi was a bit hit-or-miss. None of it really tasted off, but some of it was really stringy, with tough strands of connective tissue. Not something you want in sashimi- it should be tender and easy to eat. That's mostly why I'm giving only three stars here. The quality of a sushi place isn't to be found in the fancy deep-fried rolls with 4 different sauces. You can hide a lot with that. Nigiri (people around here just call it "sushi," which is the rice part of it) and sashimi are where you will find out how good it really is. That said, I'm coming back for the tempura. I saw people's tempura entrees, and there was enough in them for several meals.

There is a parking lot nearby as well as some street parking, but it's something to keep in mind before your visit. I believe they offer an all-you-can-eat special for around $27.99 on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and on Tuesdays and Thursdays many menu items are half off. I visited on a Thursday and took full advantage of the half-off specials. I arrived about 40 minutes before closing, and as other guests left, I ended up being the only person in the restaurant. Honestly, it made for a great experience. The music was a fun mix of house music and R&B, and I found myself dancing in my seat while enjoying my meal. The staff was attentive without being overbearing. They checked on me when needed but also gave me space to relax and enjoy my food. The cook also came over and talked with me for a while and made some suggestions on what he thought I would like. Amazing ! Because everything was half off, my eyes were definitely bigger than my stomach! I ordered several different items and was completely full by my second plate. Most dishes come as small plates with two to four pieces, making it easy to try a variety of items. One of the coolest parts of the experience was the conveyor belt system. Once your food is prepared, it's sent down the conveyor belt to your seat. Since I was the only customer there, it was easy to know which dishes were mine. I'd be interested to see how it works during busier hours. I honestly can't remember everything I ordered, but I enjoyed almost all of it. My least favorite item was the sweet potato roll--it wasn't bad, just not my personal favorite. Everything else was fresh, flavorful, and worth trying. Overall, I had a really good time and will definitely be back, especially on a half-off day. Great food, great music, and a fun dining experience. We enjoyed a nice lunch with fresh sushi created by the sushi chefs behind the counter, of course. It's a peaceful place to go when there's only few people in there. But, I could see it being loud if there were a packed house in there. I wouldn't say it's the best sushi I ever had, but it's fun for the novelty of it for sure.

We were extra excited by what seemed to be their signature dish, steak and mashed potatoes. Well, we had an 8pm reservation, which to me is normal time, but seems to be like a last seating for this restaurant. The place was full upon entering but emptied out quickly during our meal experience. It was just our immediate family of 4. Started with cocktails and proceeded to order the seafood trio app, which was good. Wedge salad, which was also good. Had a nice waitress who had a good sense of humor. The rest went downhill. We all ordered different types of steaks and 3 of 4 medium rare, one NY Strip medium. Ordered a side of Brussel sprouts and some other accompanying sauces. All 3 steaks came out in variations of well done - gross! On an even more disappointing note, we were told there is no more mashed potatoes, which is why we chose this place, and then told only 2 baked potatoes, so we had to decide who gets it and who doesn't. A TERRIBLE thing to happen at a steak restaurant, in addition to ruining what seemed to be quality steaks. The Brussel sprouts came out overly well done drenched in their sauce. Bite into any of them and they were totally deflated and not good. We couldn't even eat it. The waitress came back and asked how things were... my wife's fillet was so over cooked the waitress even agreed and offered to remake. By this time it was almost 9:15 and she lost her appetite. The three of us just didn't mention how ours were because it would have just caused chaos that none of us wanted. We NEVER send back food, but in this case, hers was insanely overcooked. We asked to have it removed from the bill, which they did. Regardless, we dropped $430, including a $70 tip (because I am generous... waitress should have done a lot more for us when noticing the quality of what was served to us) for the 4 of us, with only 3 main meals. Just a real poor experience. I'm hoping this was just an isolated happening, but completely upset it happened to us for my daughter's graduation, son's 25th Bday and our 27th Anniversary. All that weekend. Advice to owner: please ensure you have enough product for your reservations. We were not walk-ins. Then, listen to the customer's request for how they prefer their steaks to be cooked and serve as ordered. 8pm reservation should not make a difference from a 6pm. I'm just really disappointed and wish we went to Ts instead, but liked the idea of smaller and more intimate.

Every individual glass of wine was $12, so we opted to split a $40 bottle between 4 people. The duck poutine and the pear goat cheese salad were favorites! The ambiance really stands out at 317! This historical building has so much charm, and the wood and brick made a warm, inviting setting. Some of the tables, and the bathrooms, are down a set of stairs. I think this is really unique and I liked how the restaurant used the flow of the old building, but definitely something to keep in mind if you are dining with anyone that has mobility issues. When we arrived, we waited at the entrance for a few minutes before anyone greeted us or checked us in. The entry way is a small space with tables surrounding it, so waiting was a little awkward.
