Definitely a hidden gem, if you're not familiar with the place you might just miss it. I surely did the first time coming here. It is located right on top on chipotle, on the second level. The door is separate and leads you up the staircase to this place. Very nice and clean, they have a good amount of seating. I came during lunch time so they were very busy but very efficient. They have menus with dry erase markers so while waiting in line you can choose what you would like and it speeds up the process when it's your turn. I got the poke your own bowl, which was around $16 with tax. Reasonable price. In the bowl, you can can choose a base, they have white, brown and fried rice and spring mix option. I tried the white rice. For my protein, I chose spicy tuna and crab meat. As for my mix ingredients I tried the edamame, tamago (sweet egg omelet), cucumber, and corn. You can choose as much as you would like. For the sauce I got eel sauce and spicy mayo, I think if you choose more then 2 sauces there is an upcharge. For my toppings I got seaweed salad and massago (fish egg) and tempura flakes and nori. They have a good variety to choose from every was fresh and delicious. Good size and portion of food. However I am not a big fan of the spicy tuna, It felt like they just threw it in spicy mayo and it didn't add any additional flavor. I felt as it would be the same as I got regular tuna. Other then that everything combine and mixed together was super delicious. I would definitely coming back!

Walk thru a tiny entrance, up a narrow stairway, and enter a bright, squeaky clean space with cheerily welcoming staff. The signature bowls looked great, but I built my own. It arrived with super fresh veggies and great spicy tuna - just the right size for lunch - and was accompanied by 3 crispy spring roils- delish. I will most definitely be back.

It would be very easy to bypass Poke Fish restaurant during an afternoon stroll on Marshall Street. It's located on the second floor right next door to Chipotle. There is a menu of their signature items on the front door leading you upstairs. The photos of the Poke Bowls available looked very appetizing so I took the opportunity to partake in their offerings. I ordered the Poke Fish Bowl which had a two-chili spice level. It only took the preparer to a few minutes to put together the bowl and deliver it to me as a to-go item and I whisked it away back to my office to indulge myself in the meal ahead. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with what I was greeted to. Unlike the photo on the menu, there was an over abundance of crispy onions and spicy mayo sauce in the bowl. There was a healthy portion of white rice that served as the bed of the entrée but the spicy tuna and spicy salmon portions were small and inundated with the mayo sauce that masked any level of spiciness that they may have once carried. All I could really taste was the pineapple chunks, jalapenos slices and the mayo. The bowl was simply drowned out by the mayo and the lack of seafood that were supposed to be featured in the bowl. I wouldn't be surprised if the heavy use of sauces effected the spice level of the bowl. There was none. As a result, I wouldn't order another Poke Fish Bowl here unless changes to the quantity of seafood was increased and the mayo sauce was drastically reduced. Next time, I might try one of the Hibachi Bowls and taste if the quality of the entrée is any better since there are no mayo-based sauces to drown out the taste of the ingredients. At the moment, I can not recommend the Poke Fish bowls but, the other options available might offer a better taste sensation. Be forewarned that you should request any sauces used in the bowls be used lightly or on the side. On the positive side, the staff were very friendly and the venue was clean and accommodating. Until we eat again...

The restaurant itself was such a large space with nice seating. Service throughout the meal was good but a bit slower. For appetizers, we had plates laid out for us to grab from. The eggplant items and spring roll I think were the best. We all got a large plate of salad which felt very generic with no Thai flavors. For my main, I chose the chicken in red curry. The curry was good, a bit mild though. The chicken itself was a little bit dryer than I was hoping for but flavor was good. I do also wish they had more veggies in the dish as well but the ones that were in there were well cooked. It would have been nice if there was more eggplant and hopefully also some bamboo shoots as well. Finally, for dessert I had the warm chocolate cake. The cake was tasty - basically just a chocolate lava cake. Additionally the ice cream it came with was a nice addition. All in all, a fine meal option in the area.

They're not on the apps, nobody ever talks about them, and nothing about them seems to stand out above other restaurants that are better known for the different types of food that they make. We actually decided to order here when we were specifically looking for pineapple fried rice and this was just the first place we looked that had it. The first day we tried to order was on a Sunday, when I think they were open. We were trying to time it with our drive so we could pick it up on our way home. We read through the menu and put our orders together, then realized their online ordering was disabled. We tried to call and it went to voicemail. It sucked having to pick another place on the fly and scramble an order together. The following Saturday, we gave them another shot and were able to reach them by phone. The phone order was tough. We wrote down the numbers, but the lady didn't know which items they corresponded to, so we had to go on the website and look them up while placing the order. They also don't have duck as a meat option in their dishes, despite their menu listing it. The food was decent. Definitely not a destination spot, but we don't regret coming here and placing a huge order. Here's what we got. A2. Curry Puff: Four crispy, spongy dumplings. These are a hybrid between mandu style dumplings and pierogies. The outside is spongy and soft like flatbread, but with the structural integrity of a good dumpling/pierogi. It's filled with mashed potatoes laced with curry spices, and the cucumber sauce is sweet with a thick consistency, not unlike duck sauce. You get 4 of them for $6.00, and it's a great appetizer. S5. Bun Bo Xao (Cold Noodle Salad): I love cold noodles, but we weren't wowed by this one. Tons of fresh bean sprouts and cucumbers, but then just a pile of regular thin noodles and not much sauce. Like possibly no sauce. It was like eating a bowl of raw veggies with no dressing. Super fresh feeling, and if they sauced it harder it would have been great. We also paid extra to get it with shrimp, and we wish we had gone with beef instead. It came with tiny, unflavored, untextured, possibly canned shrimp that somehow added nothing to the unflavored pile of veggies and noodles. We ended up fixing it ourselves at home, and it became one of our favorite parts of the meal. It's a well made dish, but it's like the batteries aren't included. R2. Pineapple Fried Rice: Disclaimer - Pineapple in regular food is not my thing. We live in a free country and I try to be tolerant of other people's views on pineapple placement. I did try a few bites to prove I'm not a square, and I absolutely loved the rice. Amazing texture and kind of a smoky taste. For some reason it came with raisins too, which even my girlfriend wasn't crazy about. She says they should nix the raisins and add more pineapple. Even with the pineapples, I would have eaten that whole dish without thinking twice. It had a deep flavor to it I wasn't expecting. I'd absolutely try a regular order fit for human beings. N4. Kao Soi Noodle: I ordered these because the description said crispy noodles. Crispy noodles are one of my favorite things, but I don't think these were ever intended to be crispy. These were fully soggy, very cooked noodles. The red curry was about average, but we asked them to crank up the heat and they obliged. It seems like they used pepper flakes, because the burn was all up front if that makes sense. I love a good Thai stir fry, and have no complaints outside of the hopes I had for crispy noodles. In the grand scheme though, I won't remember this one over any of the others I've had. G4. Massaman Curry: This was our favorite thing next to the fried rice. We loved this. Super creamy, and we felt like we were rolling the dice with the meat. A lot of places give you chewy, leathery take-out style pork or beef, and this wasn't the case here. We ordered this one extra spicy too and it came with a little kick, but nothing crazy. We absolutely loved the rich flavor and very creamy consistency. The white rice was so soft and fluffy, it went amazing with this curry. They have a diverse menu with a lot of different things to pick from, so there's definitely some loose ends. Even so though, we'd go straight for the fried rice and Massaman Curry and branch out if we had room.
