New Century is our go to for Vietnamese food even though we live wicked close to another very popular restaurant lol. We mostly do take out and never had an issue. A couple months ago my husband and I decided to stop in for lunch. The service is the same as I remembered, leaves not much to be desired. It's not the best but not horrible, just meh. But the food is always outstanding. Favorite Items to order: Appetizers: Ginger Chicken Wings #4 (my little one's favorite) Spring Rolls #6 - Spring rolls (2): Steamed Shrimp, Pork, Vermicelli, fresh Lettuce, Bean Sprouts, and Mint wrapped in Rice Paper. New Century Egg Rolls # 9 - Shrimp and Pork, encased in a homemade wrapping that you can only find here. Entrees: Pho: Special Combination # 10 - Rare Steak, Beef Meatballs, Brisket, Tripe, and Tendon Rare Steak & Brisket # 16 Vermicelli Noodles: Special Combination # 33 - Shredded Pork, Egg roll, Grilled Shrimp, Pork, Beef, and Meatballs House Special(when I feel like eating something than my usual above): Quail in a Five Spice Caramel Sauce #59 Drinks: I enjoy the coconut juice

5/5. Visited the restaurant with my badminton club and are always pleased to be seated and fed quickly. Service is consistently impeccable and friendly. Host is a kind man who prioritizes guests above all else. We ordered 3 #16 (Rare Beef Pho) and one #16 with beef meatballs. Portions are generous, broth was authentic and perfectly balanced, and order comes with a side of bean sprouts, thai basil, peppers, and lime. Phil likes things spicy hot and appreciated the chili oil and siracha at the table. This place has been here for over 20 years and it's clear to see why. This is the best meal I (Phil) have had in Syracuse and recommend to people seeking authentic Vietnamese pho, a hearty warm meal, or anyone looking to try a new cuisine! We recommend bringing cash to avoid the credit card fee

I absolutely love the pho from this place ! It is one of the best and authentic ones in the area. I think their costumer service can use a little bit of work but I do enjoy the food. I also am not a fan that they take a "tip" automatically. The place is a gem. It's spacious. The parking is also street parking for anyone interested.

I have not been here for years. I finally came back because I took a travel assignment in Syracuse. Happy to come back and bring my boyfriend here to try too. It was busy when we went for lunch but was still able to get seated in 10 mins. I love the food here. They are so good. I tried the new century egg rolls and it was really good. I ordered The Bun Bo Hue and loved it. My boyfriend ordered the Vermicelli Bowl but don't know which one and he really enjoys it too. This place has always been my to go to spot on Syracuse.

I am always skeptical of pho restaurants since I've had my grandma's cooking as well as many cheap, delicious authentic places in California. This restaurant was large and clean. For Syracuse, I was so pleasantly surprised. Tried a pho and bun bo hue. Both were large portions and very tasty. I am usually picky about my bun bo hue but everything was cooked correctly with good flavor. Be prepared to pay in cash and service can be a bit slow, but that's how you know the food is good.

Goi Cuon (Spring rolls) #6, Bun Dac Biet #33, Bo Tai Chanh #68. 3 of my favorites!

The server was also the owner I believe and she was so friendly and attentive to all our needs while dining in. Started out with the pork eggroll and spring roll appetizers. The eggroll was not what I expected but didn't taste bad, I just preferred the spring roll. It had more flavor and veggies. Both very reasonably priced and came out piping hot from the kitchen with dipping sauce. I got the shaking beef entree which comes with white rice. There are chopsticks on the table but they brought me out a fork and spoon with my meal. What a great flavor on this dish! There are chopped onions, green peppers, and beef atop what seemed like a bed of seasoned cabbage. I thoroughly enjoyed it and had enough to bring some home for leftovers. My mother got the beef banh mi and loved how crisp the outside of the bun was with a soft interior. The veggies complemented the flavorful beef very well with a slight spicy kick from the jalapeno. I needed to try their thai tea so I got it to go and it came out promptly after ordering. Also delicious. I loved everything about this experience and look forward to trying more of the menu in the future.

The restaurant itself was very clean, I mean it was spotless. We ordered the banh mi with grilled pork, summer rolls with grilled pork and rice vermicilli with egg rolls and grilled pork (wow we ordered more pork than I realized) Overall, I feel that Mr Pho is a good starting point for people who are new to viet food as the flavors are much more mild. I do think it tastes more Chinese-Vietnamese than authentic Vietnamese as the vegetables in the banh mi weren't pickled as they usually are and the grilled pork definitely does have Vietnamese flavors involved but they were more subdued. The summer rolls also had a bit more lettuce than I'm used to and there weren't any leeks in them. That being said, everything still tasted fresh and yummy just not very authentic tasting. Special shout out to the wonderful service, our waiter was a young man who was very attentive to us and the other patrons in the restaurant. Overall, I think this was a nice place to try and I would like to try the pho next time as I do see other views raving about it!
