I decided to try lunch here after reading some good reviews. It was after lunch time but there were about 6 tables seated. There was one server who was taking care of everything and did an amazing job. She was seating people, taking orders, serving food, bussing tables and ringing people out when they paid. I ordered the lunch special.. appetizer, entree. I ordered the Thai dumplings, Green Curry with chicken and Coconut Flan. The dumplings were homemade but tasted a bit bland. The Green Curry was delicious and very flavorful, the vegetables and chicken cooked perfectly. I actually finished it with my spoon so I could eat every last drop. The flan was very small but sweet and excellent and a perfect end to the meal. I don't think I would get the special again...it was an okay lunch portion but I enjoy getting a larger entree to have leftovers for another day. I will definitely be going back and trying more of their dishes. read more

I've always wondered about this restaurant, and this week, I finally had time to stop in and give them a try. I prefer dining out during lunch hours, I feel you can get a better sense of an establishment when things are calmer. This is exactly what I experienced at Thai Flavor. A very calm and relaxing environment with only one other table being occupied at the time, service was spectacular! I had no clue what to order upon arrival, but I am a huge fan of Thai fried rice, so I was extremely happy to see that it was listed as a part of their lunch special. It did not disappoint! The fried rice was flavorful and "fresh." It didn't taste greasy or have a heavily salted taste profile. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The appetizers were very tasty as well. We ordered spring rolls, which were perfectly fried and chicken satay. The peanut butter sauce that was served with this chicken satay was a bit different than I was am used to. It had more of a natural PB flavor profile, not a deal breaker by any means. I'm so glad I finally dined at Thai Flavor and will definitely return to enjoy their amazingly priced lunch special again soon. read more

This is a great Thai restaurant! They have a nice lunch special with choice of appetizer, main dish, and dessert for a great price. It is nicely decorated inside and the service was great. My personal favorite is the pad see ew noodles with scallop, but it's hard to go wrong! read more

Nice decor inside making the place feel a little more upscale. Really good service. The food is very flavorful and presented nicely on the dish. Tried the chicken satay which was a big hit. When traveling for work I miss eating a home cooked meal. I immediately thought of the comforts that Thai food brings and gave this place a try. Red flag number one: I asked for chili/pepper SAUCE but all they could offer was chili flakes... as I'm looking at a container of table side pepper sauce. Ok, fine. While I wasn't thrilled, I'm here for the food -right?! Well. The flavors were pretty ok! Not the best I've ever had but pretty good flavors. The problem I had was a lot of gravy and broth with hardly any veggies and protein. Maybe try your luck with the noodle dishes. I give this place 1000/10, my boyfriend and I love this place. We have been here over 5 times already within a few months. We try something new every-time we go. This past weekend I brought my friends here, one who is from Jersey and she loved it and one is from the area but never stopped in, she loved it too. The wait time for food isn't bad at all. We love the fact that the pineapple rice comes in an actual pineapple. The desserts are amazing, and the food Omg! I am going to insert some pictures before they are screenshot from my videos. We even took picture by the accent wall and statues. The food is amazing, the waiters are amazing, we can't lie we have a favorite waiter: Rose. My wife and I often get the red curry and Pad Thai Chicken From these guys. The portions are large and they are very tasty. I would rate the food 8 out of 10. It's typically not full and you can be seated immediately. Services quick people are friendly and the food is good. What more can you ask for. I've not been to any other type place and Syracuse, but probably wouldn't go anywhere else since the food here seems to be very authentic. Stopped in for dinner based on the reviews and that it was close to my hotel. I was not disappointed. The food is delicious and attractively presented. The staff are friendly and efficient. Best of all the prices are reasonable. I had the dumplings to start which was a good choice for a small appetizer. For my main course I had the Massaman curry with chicken which I was excellent and the rice was served on a second plate molded in the shape of a flower. A Singha was a good compliment. read more

This place is still really good! But.. something is different? We ordered our usual dishes (pad Thai, appetizer set, and drunken noodles) and they were all just a little bit different from what we remembered it being. The waitress was a new face, she was very sweet and tentative. We are wondering if there are new cooks or maybe new owners following a slightly different recipe? The sauces for the noodle dishes just seemed slightly not as "WOW" as we had remembered. It was still very good, but not the 5 stars that I remember it being. We are happy to see they are still standing after the world of covid. We will still be back, and maybe will just switch up menu items to see what else they have to offer. Thai Flavor is functioning during the COVID-19 pandemic, and we are so thankful! We got pick up tonight and it was ready right on time, still hot, and absolutely delicious. The papaya salad was a decent sized portion and tasted fresh and flavorful. It had some nice spice to it, too! The pad Thai was delicious, and it was definitely a large portion. Our FAVORITE dish though was the vegan seitan mock "duck." It was absolutely delicious and flavorful, with peppers, green beans, and Thai basil. These were very good! Everything came out fast and super hot. For the main course I had Shrimp Pad Thai and my boyfriend had the Drunken Noodle. Pad Thai was good but could use more vegetables, the chives weren't fresh, no water chestnuts, and it wasn't very spicy. Shrimp was old as well. I went here for lunch with a couple friends recently, so we only ordered off the lunch menu so I can't speak to how a dinner here would be. The lunch menu consists of a choice of an appetizer, an entree, and then a dessert all for a reasonable price. I had the glass soup (clear veggie soup) for my appetizer, which was good, not great. My cashew chicken entree was excellent, although I felt like it could have used a bit more of the main ingredients - both the chicken and cashews were lacking on the plate. The sauce was very good though and I enjoyed the dish. For dessert I had a small scoop of their sherbet - which was a great way to end the meal and clean the palate. Service was very quick as expected. The decor inside seems pretty typical for this sort of restaurant, a bit tacky but still quaint. Three of us ate here for under $30 and the meal was filling. I had the bonus of not having to pay as my friend lost at credit card roulette - so this made the whole experience better :) If I had to choose between Thai Flavor and Erawan, I'd probably go with the latter, but Thai Flavor was a nice alternative. read more

If I could leave zero stars I could. This used to be my favorite Thai place in Syracuse, but the quality is subpar and the service is non-existent. When I arrived to pick up my order, they were missing part of it. After they told me they would quickly make what my order was missing, they tried to charge me again for that item! When I finally got my food home, my entire order was incorrect. When I called, I was passed around to multiple people, and was then told in a condescending manner, "Those aren't scallions in your pad Thai, they're chives." Either way, I specifically asked for my meal to be scallion/chive free. What's the point of allowing my to customize my order if you aren't actually going to do it? Terrible service, rude staff. I wouldn't say it's the cheapest during dinner time but their lunch specials on weekdays are such a steal - comes with soup, dessert, and a choice of entree. Five people went on a Monday evening while in town for a conference. The food was good enough and it is an extensive menu. But service was atrocious. Had I only been there with my wife, we would have walked out. It wasn't that busy but we sat for an hour before we were noticed. Finally they took our orders. Main dishes were brought out sporadically and one person finshed before another person had any food. Drink orders didn't come out until after the first main dishes came out. (Main rule of restaurant management: bring out drinks immediately!) Those of us who ordered soup got our soup AFTER the main course.
