Really enjoyed my lunch stop at Firecracker. The server was very nice and fun to chat with. Was hoping for the beef version of their special pad see ew, but they only had shrimp. It had a looser gravy than I'm used to, but the wide noodles were tasty and it had a nice assortment of vegs. The unicorn limeade added a fun visual to the meal. read more

The shrimp was good but that's about it. Everything lacked flavor, but that's just my subjective review. I think they are mild with their flavor and spice because the dish I ordered was apparently one of the spiciest on the menu and I would rate the spice factor a 1/10. NOT spicy at all. But once again everyone has a different palette and what they prefer when it comes to flavor and spice. The ingredients were fresh though and the staff is very friendly. read more

The owner is so friendly and welcoming. I love Thai omelettes, and she even took the time to tell me about their version of the Thai omelette and how to make it. She is so approachable, and I laughed when she said, "oh there is so much oil needed to make a good Thai omelette. So much" haha. Their Thai omelette keeps the edges crispy with the egg yolk still runny, which is the way I like it and the way it should be done, and the minced pork really helps round out the flavor from the fish sauce. With the rice, the rice soaks up some of the meat flavor and savory flavor from the fish sauce. I also like how they are one of the more efficient ones in getting out their order at the market. read more

Excellent little Thai place in salt city market. We were pleasantly surprised by how good the dishes we got were! I will for sure stop here again the next time I am in the area. The Thai street omelette, well, I have t had one this authentic in a hot minute. It's a very popular street food back in Thailand, and for good reason. The knee mao had a really excellent flavor, and some nice subtle (for us) heat to it. Firecracker rolls were good enough that I barely had a chance to try one, haha. Stopped over Firecracker Thai Kitchen Located in the Salt City Market. This is my second time ordering from them. It did not disappoint in the least! The Salt City Market. One of my most favorite spots! Awesome food, fantastic people and amazing atmosphere! I love ordering from a few different vendors and sharing with my wife. This evening the Spicy Basil Chicken from Firecracker Thai Kitchen stole the show! First , Sara who is the owner/chef and her team were fantastic. Sara was welcoming and a fun person to talk to. The Spicy Basil Chicken was out of this world. A perfect amount of heat that didn't overtake any of the flavors of this colorful dish. The sunny side egg was a perfect compliment to the rice. I love that crispness to the outer edge of the egg as it added some nice texture. The Thai Wings are some of the best specialty (meaning not just the everyday pizza place sauces) flavored. The wings are big and juicy. They have a nice crispy exterior. The chili sugar that coats them has a nice sweetness to each bite. The Crispy Firecracker Rolls are just that, crispy! They comes with an addicting peanut dipping sauce. I'm looking forward to my next trip to The Salt City Market. No matter what vendor I order from the Firecracker Thai Kitchen will definitely be one of them again. So much more on their menu I want to try! read more

Firecracker Thai was the first vendor inside the Salt City Market I officially tried post-opening. When I ordered the vegetarian stir fry, the owner Sara was nice enough to double check that adding egg was ok because I accidentally asked for the "vegan" stir fry. (My fault for not wearing glasses-- but note to any actual vegans out there, check if the food vendors can accommodate! Most are happy to!) The stir fry included a vegetarian meat substitute. Usually, I don't buy these kinds of products for myself at home or order them out-- I just omit meat. Most other Thai restaurants just use tofu or vegetables as a protein source, but I was a little intrigued by the vegan scrambles here. The dish was very tasty, and full of the flavor of fresh basil. I'd order it again, though I am intrigued to see what other menu options are there in the future! read more

This is a favorite spot in the Salt City Market and probably has the friendliest staff. Most recently I had their shrimp salad, which was huge and gorgeous - warning, though, the dressing has quite a burn! Stopped at the salt city market to grab a bite to eat before the musical. Conveniently close to the Landmark theatre. Firecracker is my go too, especially for their spring rolls. I also had the yellow chicken curry which was also fantastic and the unicorn lime-ade which I was pleasantly surprised wasn't too sweet or sour. All the vendors at the market give out buzzers so you can look around or find a table while you wait which is convenient. The market is always buzzing, great atmosphere especially if there is a game on, since they play them on the large projector screens. I was able to stop by Salt City Market last night and was surprised there were NO lines!! I ordered the Spicy Basil Chicken and a Thai Iced Tea and was very impressed! The presentation was spot on and the flavor was delicious. The iced tea was also nice and sweet. Definitely give it a try if you're exploring the market. read more

I'm on a foodie quest to eat my way through the Salt City Market... Friday was my first visit and I had the shrimp green curry. Being my third order (I can't help it, I get overwhelmed and order all of the things!), I took it home. Oh man... So I definitely ate curry for breakfast and I definitely don't care because it was SO good! I like a little spice, but not too much and this was perfect! There was like 6-8 (I started eating sorry) large shrimp, ugh so good! Very friendly staff, the order took a little long (hence the 4 stars)... but it was worth the wait and if I could do a 4.5 I would! I'll definitely be back! A side note I'm a gluten free vegetarian, I guess pescatarian on certain days and this meal was gluten free and perfect! read more

It was bad. When I walked into the place I joked with my wife that we were at the mall food court! Turns out ANY food at the mall food court would be better than this. I tried a rice meal at the Thai Kitchen and frankly it was just awful. I see a lot of positive reviews so maybe I had a one time bad experience, but the rice was overcooked and there was hardly any protein in the meal. I don't know what else to say. I paid $16 for a cup of overcooked white rice. I will not go back to this market again! read more

Tried the impossible vegan stir fry after reading the reviews and it was just meh. Stir fry's are normally mixed on a wok. This was white rice with a side of chopped up plant base burger. It lacked flavor and especially spicy. The portion size was really small compared to the price point. Maybe their other stuff is worth trying but this dish not so much. I had the impossible basil stir fry with rice and was very disappointed. If the dish were 6 dollars, I would have given it 3 stars but the portion size was pitiful for a 13 dollars. It was mild-medium spicy but there was almost no taste aside from the spice with only a mild hint of basil. The vegan meat seemed like it was a ground up impossible burger but when mixed with the rice, I mostly just tasted rice. I had to head home and jazz the dish up to make it palatable. This entree really needs an increase in portion size and an extra kick to the flavor profile for it to be worth the price point. read more
