Love everything about this restaurant! The staff is always friendly and consistent -- both in the familiar faces and the quality of the food. I especially appreciate the sense of humor and connection we've built over the years of coming to Erawan for both dinner and lunch. My usual starts with #10 Goong Hom Pha, followed by my all-time favorite, #112 Gai Ka Tiem. And I never leave without ordering #39 Gai Pad Pak Lad Nam Satay -- three to go for the road back to Charlotte, NC! Even after moving out of state, Erawan remains a staple -- both dine-in and takeout. It's become a running joke that we always ask for the "fava bean with prosciutto, burrata cheese, and truffle oil -- with a side of pappardelle bolognese" every time we walk in. The team always gets a laugh out of it, and it's those fun moments that make dining here feel like home. My family in Charlotte still hasn't found a place that comes close to matching Erawan's amazing Thai flavors. And of course, if you're lucky, you might spot the friendly icon himself -- legendary SU Coach Boeheim. Don't be shy -- he's always happy to take pictures with fans! Stopped in for a quick meal on a Wednesday night. The server was very friendly, and gave us ice water upon seating us. We ordered three egg rolls and an order of pad kee mao. Best egg rolls I have had in a minute! The egg wrapper was crispy and crunchy, without being heavy. We ordered the pad kee mao with medium heat. The server gave us siracha to accompany the dish. Best thai food in upstate New York, i've been to many thai places and in many states, it's my favorite kind of cuisine, and none are as good as Erawan. I've been coming here for over 10 years and it's always consistently good, food comes quick. I always look forward to eating here when i come into town. I recommend the red curry with chicken, the pad thai, the tomato fried rice and you won't find better fried egg rolls anywhere. The sauce they come with is excellent i could drink it on its own! Great local Thai place!! It has been known to be one of the best in Syracuse. Conveniently located with plenty of seating. So many food options for everyone. I particularly like the seafood. This time we had Shrimp and Squid in a coconut curry sauce as well steak and peppers in the same sauce. Came out fast and piping hot. We really enjoyed it. Servers were all very pleasant. Ended up at Erawan after our intended place did not pan out. Hadn't been in a long time but it was still just as I remembered it. Ordered a couple appetizers - the crispy fried wings were spot on and the deep fried rice dish was unique and memorable. We got the beef with stir fried vegetables, ordered medium spice but was hardly spicy at all. The sauce had good flavor and the veggies were bright and crisp. We also got the Mee Kati - rice noodles in red curry sauce with chicken and peanuts. This was the star of the night. Incredible flavor from start to finish. read more

I had lunch with a friend here today after not eating at Erawan for a few years. I was pleasantly surprised at the environment, tables being socially distanced and Staff very friendly and attentive. We began with a pot of jasmine green tea, which hit the spot on a cold winters day. The menu was fairly extensive and had a great deal of vegetarian options. For a main dish, I ordered Tofu Pad Nam Mun Ho. This came with A summer roll, and I had the option of ordering a regular roll or a vegetarian one. I opted for the vegetarian role which was assembled around a slice of fried tofu and served with a dipping sauce. It is a great way to start the meal.The main dish was quite delicious and served on a large bed of jasmine white rice. The vegetables had a distinct crunch, which made the dish all the more appealing. The Portions are generous and Service is with a smile. read more

Erawan's is my favorite Thai restaurant in Syracuse. I get the same thing every time and it's consistently good (#30 Kao Lad Na Kra Pow). If you like veggies, rice, and your choice meat then order #30. You will not be disappointed! My husband had the chicken pad Thai (#21) and he was unfortunately not a fan, but this is my review and not his! Just figured I'd mention it and maybe suggest choosing a different menu item (like #30!) instead. The service has always been quick for pick-up. Service is pretty quick once you get a seat, and the food is consistently food and portions are huge which is nice. I can get two or three meals out of my pad Thai. Had dinner here on a Wednesday night. The restaurant was very nice - about half full and still quiet enough to enjoy dinner and not overhear everyone else's conversations. I ordered the Gai Thai as an appetizer - basically chicken satay. The peanut sauce was pretty good - more on the sweet side, but tasty. For my main course I ordered a chicken entree with baby corn, red & green peppers, and coconut milk in a spicy sauce. I ordered it "hot" and was not disappointed. By the end of the meal my sinuses were fully cleared. The portion size was generous, as was the amount of rice they serve you. I'm definitely coming back to Erawan to try out one of the beef plates or one of the noodle plates - those looked very good as well. The service was great - the waitresses were both super nice and attentive to anything that we needed. Any requests were handled quickly and with a smile. Price was good - for 2 of us both having a beer and an appetizer as well as dinner, we spent $50. Can't really go wrong there. read more

Out of anything on a Thai menu, this should be the hardest dish to botch, but Erawan's pad Thai was inedible. It was greasy and had a weird taste, and I could barely even swallow it, even after dousing it in sauce in an attempt I make it palatable. After a few bites, I was done, and the whole thing went in the trash. A really disappointing experience. This happened a while back, so I would hope that they've improved since then, but I'm really hesitant to give them another chance. read more

I had lunch today and had a soda. I ordered refills on the soda and was charged for every refill. I have been there before and was never charged for each soda. The price per drink was also almost $4. My photo doesn't do the food justice, at all. But I can't believe I've never reviewed Erawan, one of my favorite restaurants EVER. So, their pad thai is not the typical pad Thai you get at any other Thai restaurant-- and that's what I love about it. I'm sure if you're expecting a tamarind and peanut based sauce , theirs would taste "off." But damn, having it be the first pad Thai I've ever tried I feel lucky cause it's SO good. It's a more sweet version with tomato paste and Daikon radish and onion flavors. We also love #106, a coconut milk and red curry paste, lots of tofu and bamboo shoots. Love the Thai basil in there too. We also love their peanut sauce in either tofu or chicken, I think you can get it with beef too and oh my gosh it's delicious. I could go on and on about other dishes of theirs I love. Out on Erie Blvd, Erawan is a medium sized restaurant, with pink tablecloths and napkins, and tasteful Thai decorations, much of which are elephants (which is fitting as Erawan is a mythological Elephant in Thailand). The restaurant is not quite a hole-in-the-wall, and lacks the tackiness of a chain restaurant. It is a humble family run restaurant and prides itself on serving good food. I've been to Erawan many times. The restaurant itself isn't much to look at...bad carpeting, mismatched tables and chairs, some of which are way past their prime. The restaurant has around 10-12 tables and there is usually always an empty table or two, so you don't usually have to wait. Their staff is extremely friendly, and helpful if you're looking for recommendations. I've tried several dishes from them, some better than others, but nothing has ever been bad. I enjoy their pad thai the best, and they definitely give you a lot of food. A dish at Erawan always last me for at least 2 meals. Their prices are very reasonable, especially for the amount of food they give you. They're not the best Thai place I've eaten at, but are good for a quick bite when you're in the mood for Thai. read more

I ordered the pineapple fried rice to go. It was okay. They gave me TONS of rice and not enough pineapple or other goodies that come with it. Usually whenever I order this dish, the rice is usually laced in a really good sauce. This rice was just white and plain. When I went to go and pick it up, there were other dishes that looked pretty good. Long ago Erawan was one of our favorites. Sadly, we'll probably never go back. For the first time in several months my wife and I gave it another try on 12/7/22. There were only three other tables in service and that should have been a clue. The place was so cold we couldn't take off our coats. A very pleasant waitress presented our menus and we were were glad to see prices had only increased moderately. Our soups were quite good, but under-spiced and served in cold bowls. Our dinners followed and instead of the big steaming container of rice, we each got a little dish with not more than 3/4 a cup of rice, hardly enough for my Panang curry which was only a thin broth with four shrimp. We were told we could order another side of rice. Goodby Erawan; there are better Thai restaurants in the area. read more
