    beef and mixed veggies

after spending 20$ on a salad from Yards Grill and leaving hungrier than when i came, Happy Wok is exactly what i needed. for $8 i got enough food for my lunch and a snack later. i had shrimp and veggies with rice and it was simple, but totally satisfying. some chinese places will overdo it on the MSG and leave me feeling sick after, but this food struck a good balance; delicious and savory but not sickening. i came back again today and got the beef with veggies. i also really like the vibe in here, it's very comfortable and casual and there's a lot of natural light from the big windows. only complaint would be when you ask for spicy they don't make it spicy enough! but it's okay, luckily i had some red pepper flakes in my car.

Best dumplings ever. Also the beef and veggies. Staff friendly and food was a good amount for the price

Used to be great. Not so much anymore. Must be new owners. Soup has less wontons and dinners are bland. Will go someplace else next time.

Phenomenal food!…read more We're in Syracuse for a conference, and didn't want to spend a fortune for mediocre food at the conference hotel, so we set out to find a good local spot via Yelp. Su Su Dim Sum came up at the top of the list, so off we went. I ordered a small (pint) of hot and sour soup and lamb with scallions. My wife ordered tangerine beef, and then we ordered red bean paste steamed buns to go for breakfast tomorrow. The soup was thick, full of chunks of tofu, plenty of vegetables, a little less peppery and a little less pungent than we like, but still better than typical Chinese restaurant fare. A bowlful of fried noodles came on the side. A great start! My wife, a veterinarian, suspected that the lamb was actually beef, but that question aside, the lamb dish was delicious, with plenty of meat, chunks of bell pepper, and abundant scallions, in a delicious sauce. The star of the night was the tangerine beef, lightly breaded and perfectly fried, in a savory and slightly sour sauce. A few broccoli florets, a handful of tangerine segments, and a wonderful thick sauce completed the dish perfectly. We packed up the leftovers, collected the steamed buns, and headed back to the hotel. We grabbed some menus to give to fellow conference attendees when they ask where we went out to dinner.

We love dim sum so we looked up the local places that served it & found Su Su. The space is simple & I believe it may have once been a diner at one point in time. The staff tried their best as there were a fair amount of to-go orders & walk-ins. (As I said it was Valentine's Day) We decided to order a few different things. Each one was excellent. The flavors & temperature of each item were fantastic. I really enjoyed the pineapple fried rice. We'll certainly be going back to try a few more things!

There were more pros than cons and overall it was a solid experience. The pros: -the ambiance is gorgeous, Asian decor is tasteful and modern. -the service was kind and attentive. -the soft traditional Chinese instrumental music playing in the background was nice. -tea was on point. -they have a traditional Chinese dish menu in addition to the primary Chinese American menu. -the beef teriyaki on a stick appetizer was hands down the very best part of our meal, succulent and perfectly cooked. Could have had a plate of these. The cons: -price is high for what you get. $26 for lo mein is steep. -the main entrees: You would anticipate the food being a bit better and/or elevated than your average Chinese takeout, but our main entrees were on par with our regular Chinese takeout place. I ordered the Peking shredded pork dish and my SO ordered roast pork lo mein. We both liked our dishes just fine but after the incredible appetizer, they were a bit underwhelming. The service was great and presentation of food was refined but i didn't walk away feeling like the value was all there, except for the app. Great place for a date night.
