I decided on the Tuna Poke since I love anything seafood, and it did not disappoint. There was a good distribution of each ingredient esp ahi tuna, avocado (favorite combo), and quinoa. The suggestion dressing was miso sesame ginger which I thought was a nice pairing. I also ordered the beet lemonade just to try which I loved. Had a nice refreshing kick to it. I also tried different drinks because the soda station is self serve. The bowl I got lacked any flavor and they forgot my falafel, although they still charged me for it, which I didn't realize until I got to my destination 40 min away. For my two year old daughter I ordered the chicken noodle soup off of the kids menu which was a joke. The odor and taste of it was almost unbearable and the noodles were too big for her to eat. The chicken was pretty much cold chucks of chicken that just got thrown into the bowl. The carrots and mushrooms I had added to the soup were raw. This isn't an old Wendy's commercial, but "where's the beef?" It was mediocre at best. The woman who made our meals was not overly hospitable and the cashier was very transactional - although I wasn't able to get a receipt for my credit card transaction. It's nice to have a place in the area w many healthy options so I can try something different every time I come. I like that everything is fresh and healthy (that's very hard to find in a "fast food" type setting). I created my own bowl with beef bone broth, quinoa, spinach, beets, mushrooms, sprouts and chicken with some fresh ginger and herbs on top. Great flavor and filling!! I had the cucumber basil lemonade which was delicious - perfectly naturally sweet. The place is the pinnacle of health. This was my first time here and I got the Spicy Thai Chicken and Rice Noodle grain bowl. It was very good, and tasted healthy. It was a-little spicy (as the name implies) but not overpowering. If I'd go here again I'd probably like to try something different. What I really liked about this place was the interesting drink choices. I started off with the safe basic lemonade then moved on to the more interesting 'Beet Lemonade'. It was surprisingly good. Giving three stars because on the positive side this is healthy food in pretty large portions for the money - if you are a healthy eater and watch portions the servings are easily two meals. The salad was great On the down side the hot food wasn't hot..even my friends main course soup wasn't hot. My side soup was almost cold and they don't have a microwave, so I took it home for lunch the next day. The veggie appetizer we shared had no flavor and tasted like it had been sitting around for a long time. The atmosphere is nice inside and they offer outdoor seating. This place is really good for a quick healthy bite (and probably leftovers- the bowls are large portions). The value is almost unbeatable. Two large bowls and two drinks will run you about 25 bucks. The poke bowls and "tri tip steak" bowl are 10/10. Everything looks and tastes fresh. I do not recommend the asian "broth bowl". It wasn't that great. Tasty "healthy" drinks are offered on tap as well. They give you a new cup for a refill. Ughhhhhhhhh, why must it be this way? I love this place with my entire heart, but there's so many thing that are hit or miss about it. I've been charged two and sometimes three different prices for the same thing, depending on who's behind the register. Service is very friendly (especially later in the day when a lovely blonde lady is behind the counter, she's so cheery and nice! You go girl!) but holy crap some of the younger workers have no clue what they're doing. Literally no hospitality and once, when I asked for sweet potatoes the lady behind the cash register acted as if my request were a nuisance, she didn't even respond when I said I was sorry. Like, I'm paying for the sweet potatoes, why must I feel guilty for asking for them? Also, when I come in around 3 pm, the younger people behind the counter are just....ugh. There was one day I paid $14 for a grain bowl that had so little of the other ingredients and so much shredded beets that it turned my tofu bright pink. That same day, I don't remember what happened, but I went to ask for a drink (which I always get) and again the young lady acted like I asked her for too much? I even said "thank you" when she was done ringing me up and she turned around, didn't even let me finish speaking, and went onward to speak to one of her coworkers. Today, I was charged full price for half the amount of sweet potatoes because they ran out. Like, find a way to make up for that. I'm not even trying to sound like a brat but having worked in the food industry and customer service for ages myself, there's a way to do things. I'm starting to become very disappointed in this place, which genuinely saddens me because I love coming here and meeting friends here but I'm losing my patience at this point. Bone broth is very popular right now The benefits of consuming bone broth are the highlight in a host of menu options here at CoreLife and pretty much the talking point of why you would want to choose to eat here. It is nice there's a chain that was able to build it's menu around the healing benefits of bone broth which is linked to improving gut health and immunity. Once gut health and immunity improves, a person's health improves physically, mentally and emotionally. Google it or listen to Dr. Josh Axe. Bone broth isn't vegetarian or vegan though there are nice options for both of those palettes so few really get turned away from the nice setup which features both outdoor and indoor dining. They don't nickle and dime for toppings either. Nice portions as well. I noticed they don't serve any soft drinks either, but what disappointed me was the sugar content in the lemonade and iced tea bar. These drinks are mostly all-natural and fresh, but they still contain high amounts of sugar on top of the natural sugars extracted from the vegetables and fruits in the drink! To serve a nourishing bone broth (gut healing) bowl with a sugar (gut destroying) laced drink is a contradiction. Choose water. Portion was great and to top it off they have a freshly squeeze juice bar! A lot of cool juices like beet lemonade, green tea cider, coconut water fruit punch, and a few more. Well, the first couple times I visited this restaurant, I was impressed with the food and presentation. Today, however, it was terrible. I ordered the tuna poke fire rice bowl. The guy who was at the station with the avocado squeezed the overly ripe avocado turning it to mush before beating the scoop on the size of my bowl causing half of the mush to fly elsewhere. I commented on this and he blew me off. Then he literally placed 3 chunks of tuna in the bowl. At this time I don't even make a comment to him as he's already not listening to me. Next I get to the cashier and mention it to her of which she tries to make an excuse about the avocado not being ripe but the other girl told her they were. Charges me almost $15. I was here on May 1st. I was very excited to try this restaurant I heard it was very good. When we went in the menus were very clear and I like the big pictures And descriptions of the dishes that you could look at before approaching the main counter. I also like the fact that for three dollars you can get a refillable cup and a selection of about 10 teas and lemonades to drink. I really liked the beet lemonade. I was a little disappointed that as The cashier was ringing us up I asked if they had any type of loyalty club and she said oh yeah you can download the app and scan it here and you'll get five dollars off your first purchase. And I said can I still do that and she said no. I told her it would be nice if we were told about it before we got to that point. She said she doesn't know why they don't advertise it. Then she asked if we would like bread. I said yes but then when I saw it I said no. It look like a dried out half piece of multi grain bread. But I didn't try it so I am not sure if it is good. The staff didn't seem to want to be there and the garbage was also overflowing inside and outside the building even though they were only maybe three tables of customers. I love this place, good sizes and the food is really yummy.It fits into that plaza very well and I really love their salad bowls filled with a bunch of good food (I got the tuna bowl the first time there) and the fish was fresh along with the ingredients, I could not even eat it all and basically had two meals for their 'medium' size. They also have a ton of lemonade options, and everything they sell is on the healthier side but won't cost you an arm and leg to get (on average i'd say about 10$ per person). There are a few things that I don't like about Corelife: 1) the staff is not the friendliest 2) The 'hot' food is more like luke warm food (tried the curry which was really yummy) and had to reheat it later on to make it actually hot. But overall I usually choose to go back to it when I am in the area, you get much more than wholefoods and a lot less the cost. read more
