Restaurant is located in a small plaza with remnants of Italy all over the walls. They participate in Miami Spice along with a regular lunch and dinner menu. Wine menu is filled with strong Italian wines. Staff is super attentive and friendly. Menu has some tasty options but I love a good spaghetti with bolognese and had a hearty portion served. We had started with a charcuterie platter with delish salami, prosciutto, olives, mortadello and burrata. We over indulged gladly while sipping our wine. Around the table besides my bolognese was an eggplant parmesan, and salmon with fettuccine. Happy faces all around the table. Coppola's is a charming Italian restaurant with a very classy yet relaxing vibe and great food! Food: My partner and I both enjoyed our meals. We had the Mozzarella Fritta which was absolutely delicious! It was perfectly done and surprisingly not greasy like other fried cheese dishes. I had the Coppola allá Routa "experience" where they bring a cheese wheel to your table, mix and serve your pasta from the wheel. However, it wasn't much of an experience because the server did not come close enough to the table or engaged with us at all. So that was disappointing, but thankfully the dish tasted great! My partner had the chicken carbonara which he liked although there was a lot of excess grease for some reason. For desert we had the Mozzafiato which is the house special and it was well worth it! Definitely a dish that should be shared in a group but can be eaten by two people. Service: From entry to exit the service was incredible. While the food was good I wouldn't consider this to be authentic. For starters the music wasn't Italian. I get it your in Miami but if you're going to have live music at an Italian Restaurant it really should be Italian music not something Latin (stating Latin because I don't know if it was Cuban/Dominican/Mexican or some other Spanish speaking language etc but it definitely wasn't Italian). While the servers were good to start it got worse the longer we stayed. The severs while helpful didn't really speak enough English to help us understand things that we questioned on the menu. Now again, I get you're in Miami and English is truly the second language but dang it, as a restauranteur the least you good do if hire people that are bi-lingual. I get it you can't be everything to everyone but even in a Spanish speaking dominate place like Miami...English and Spanish should be the minimum. English is considered the International language of communication so meet that obligation. And finally that music...sit close to it at your own risk. The music was/is simply to loud for general table conversations. Maybe that works if you're having a bad date or don't want to talk. Anything short of those two things I'd say don't bother going. Wanted to take my dad for an Italian lunch and this place had great reviews! We came in at like 3 pm on a Saturday and it was a very nice and spacious restaurant. All the tables are set up all fancy and what not. The restaurant wasn't busy (maybe 2 other tables) and the service was spot on. The hostess was very nice, explained that they were under new management and were trying to get the word out about the restaurant. Waiters were attentive, watching over making sure we had water always and everything we needed. Before we ordered we were given this delicious soup. I could have had like 4 bowls of it it was really good, not sure what was in it though. Funny enough I told my dad, "what if I was allergic to something in it?" I don't know, it was a nice and I personally loved it but I had no clue what it was lol I ordered the chicken Parmesan and it came with the side of pasta. It was all so delicious!!! The pasta was so flavorful and not like traditional pasta in red sauce, it was lighter. All in all, everything was great. The reason for 4 stars and not 5 is the portions. Somewhat hard to gage. We went on a Tuesday for lunch and we were the only 4 people in the entire restaurant, so the service was great. Unfortunately. Two of the guest ordered veal and it was tough as nails. Both guest sent it back and got a pasta dish, which they said was good. I guess the moral of the story is don't order the veal (or order at your own risk). Pasta dishes seem to be good. read more

Visited on a Monday night for my daughters birthday. The inside is very elegant. I love white tablecloths and sparkling glassware. They have it. I was a bit skeptical about this place because some of the negative reviews were pretty bad. However, I'm here to tell you that I and my party had a wonderful meal. The server was incredible; professional, knowledgeable and on the ball. I ordered the white sangria which other reviewers liked. They were right. It was a nice big glass full of liquid gold. Appetizer of calamari was standard fair but the added zucchini made it tastier (and healthier). My ossobuco with cheesy risotto was perfectly delicious and a HUGE portion. My daughter's short ribs were very tasty and although there was a slight mixup with her risotto they resolved it quickly. Skirt steak was like butter and perfectly seasoned. The chicken piccata was the only dish that I'm glad I didn't get. Although my husband had no complaints, the chicken breast was not thin enough IMO. Desert was a shared creen brûlée which was meh. Oh. And I'm case there is some confusion as I noted some of the reviews, they have a FULL bar. Highly recommend. And will surely return read more

After reading several positive reviews we decided to give Coppola's a try and were extremely disappointed. The pasta was fresh, which was the only positive. My sauce was watered-down while my wife's ravioli ricotta and spinacha was bland and zero hint of truffle. The staff seemed extremely tired and were inattentive. While I'm hoping it was an off night for them, there are several other Italian restaurants within a 5 mile radius with proven, consistent quality. read more

One of the worst experiences I've had in a long time. Every server that approached our table spoke to us in Spanish despite us clearly speaking in English. I understand we're in Miami and in Kendall, but not everyone speaks Spanish and it is an Italian restaurant. All of the servers were also making us extremely uncomfortable majority of our dining experience as they were whispering to one another in the corner while so obviously starting at us. Everything that we ordered was terrible. The calamari was basically just fried rings and the marinara did not have a good flavor. The antipasti w burrata was extremely disappointing- the burrata was hard and not creamy as it is supposed to be. My boyfriend and I ordered Marsala, mine with chicken and his veal. We specified 3 times for our side penne pasta to have red sauce and not the pesto it said it comes with. One of our 3 servers, Jackie, nodded her head and said yes it comes with marinara (despite what is says on the menu). My boyfriend even said it to her in Spanish to be sure she understood what we were saying. Once the food came, we mentioned to one of the servers that the penne pasta was supposed to have a red sauce. She called over Jackie and Jackie went on to say that this pasta on our plate was indeed tossed with the red sauce. You can see our photo attached that this is not the truth. She didn't acknowledge us, only the server and nobody fixed the issue. On top of this, the Marsala sauce was so sweet and pretty disgusting, unfortunately. Ok I was in Miami for a couple of days for work. Happens that I have a cousin living there. We grew up very close and as life goes we haven't seen each other in some time so this was a good opportunity to have dinner and catch up. I found Coppola's on Yelp and with 4.5 stars it has to be good right? Turns out ever restaurant I looked at while in Miami has 4.5 stars. Interesting. Well let's get the real story. We meet at the restaurant at 6:00 PM and first it's empty. We sit down and the waiter tells us their credit card machine is not working so we have to pay cash. Well I'm not about to start looking for another 4.5 star restaurant so I have enough cash, so we'll stay. Turns out my cousin is a Vegan so she is limited to pasta. She actually chooses eggplant. I ordered the mushroom risotto. The risotto, not memorable. My cousin had no comment for her eggplant. Oh BTW, we're the only ones in the restaurant. We finished our meals and decided to extend our visit over coffee. I'll have regular coffee with cream and Splenda. Yes I know all the stories about artificial sweeteners but I'll take my chances. But and a big but, no cream, just plain milk. After 2.5 hours of eating and catching up, we are still the only ones in the restaurant. Well it was a really nice visit with my dear cousin. That's about it. I'm sure my review won't matter because if you have a restaurant in Miami you automatically get 4.5 Stars. Go figure. read more

Honestly, I have never written a review on Yelp. I have read reviews on yelp all the time to find restaurants to eat at. But this disaster of a restaurant has made me write a review. We had to wait a very long time to receive water and a SERVER! From there we ordered our drinks and appetizers, and most of the table got their drinks 45 minutes later. One person got their drink 1 hour and 15 minutes later at our table. Finally, 1 hour and 45 minutes later they gave us the opportunity to place our order. The food may be good but this service is not worth what today's south Florida's dining experience is worth. I only gave it one star because it does not let me give it zero stars. read more

I made a reservation a whole month ago and it allowed me to, I was taking my girlfriend for a very special early valentines date, and to find out once I reach the restaurant that the sign is on, and the doors are locked and dark, and a sign stating closed due to renovations for the kitchen, and it would be open after 1/31/25, today is February 11 2025 and they did not let anyone know, they should disable reservations until they are back up and running, I was very disappointed! read more

Came her for lunch to catch up with a friend. They were very friendly, clean, and accommodating. We were meeting up at noon and my friend got held up in traffic for a half hour. They didn't pester me if my friend was showing up or not. Then we ordered and the food was delicious and on time and again the waitstaff was very professional and you could hardly tell they were there but our courses kept appearing. We chatted long after the meal and lost track of time and again they did not pressure us to leave by bringing the bill or asking for payment. Overall we were there 3 hours. Happy hour from 4-7! We had a few glasses of wine and beer on happy hour, as well as some pretty decent meatballs and a bruschetta trio for $5 each item. After our appetizers, we ordered the lasagna and the ravioli. I enjoyed my ravioli de carne, as the flavor was fresh and homemade and had plenty of meat in the bolognese sauce. The lasagna was fine. Complimentary bread was provided after we ordered our appetizers. Service was great. White tablecloths and proper glasses and cutlery to go with each dish. We'll likely return for the happy hour and the pasta. Edit: I hope they change their to go boxes... after arriving home, this is what the bag for my ravioli looks like.
