Spiked Hot Apple Cider (10/10); I'm not a whiskey drinker but THIS has become one of my favorite drinks
Cassie C.

We stumbled across this distillery after hiking and were pleasantly surprised with our experience! On a chilly day we were welcomed in by a friendly waitress/hostess who brought us into their main lounge, heated by a live fireplace. Their main staple is whiskey and although I'm not a big whiskey drinker, when in Rome! The spiked apple cider I got was like a hot toddy and absolutely divine! Their food options were pretty limited but I understood as their focus was whiskey. If you're lucky, you'll get to say hi to Steve or Midnight, their two kitty "hosts"!

Lovely little place to come across! The vibe outdoors next to the river was perfect. Very peaceful. Drinks were wonderful too, and the lemonade was great for me who needed a 0 proof drink after my first one! We would definitely come back.

I have no idea how this place is in such a small town, but what an incredible surprise! I didn't get nearly enough pictures to do this place justice, but if you're near Sperryville this distillery is a must-stop! The interior is very cool, and being able to have some DELICIOUS drinks seated next to a running stream at sunset... C'mon. Never would I have expected something like this in a town of this size. It's worth going out of your way to stop in!

This is a must try! We almost did not and I am so happy we made the decision to stop in. The inside is a nice rustic feel. The back is alongside a creek that you sit by and can see the mountain. By far the best view in Sperryville. They do table service which was a great surprise so you can sit down and someone will serve you. The drinks were also great and I am not a huge fan of whiskey. We will definitely be back next time we are in that area.

Really great spot with great flights and cocktails. It has a quirky and unique ambiance which makes for great pictures! They also have a really great outdoor which was picturesque. The people were friendly and the service was quick. You could also bring in your own snacks as long as it's not hot food. Would definitely recommend visiting if you're in the area!

Flights to delight!

Flights to delight! Don't let the outside fool you, it is another world inside. You are greeted by Midnight and Steve, the distillery cats who are happy to direct you to your seats and are all about making you feel welcome. There are water dishes and dog treats as well for our other furry friends. Shawn and Matt will also check in on you frequently, as will Steve the cat. The whiskeys here are smoky and smooth. I also had the gin and it was phenomenal! Not heavy on the juniper at all, definitely a true botanical delight; you can taste the lemon balm, cinnamon, anise and the cacophony of flavors that shout out summer herb garden in your mouth! The converted cider mill tasting area is beautifully appointed with casual card tables reminiscent of times gone by as well as a lovely piano and of course, barrel table tops. You are transported to simpler times and genuine hospitality here. You can slow sip your whiskey and watch the river roll by outside or listen to some home box music indoors. Today was a good day for a hot toddy with Coper Fox Rye, hot apple cider, lemon with cloves. Simple, yet satisfying on a sunny winter day that is a touch cool enough to enjoy the liquid warmth of the toddy. I think I may have another before we depart. Do pick up a few bottles as they are already out of the Dawson's reserve.

Enjoyable experience tasting Sperryville's finest! We enjoyed a false spring day out back along the river in the sun. Attentive and helpful staff offered amazing recommendations.

Flight tasting and a berry gin drink - delicious!!!

Worth the drive! Kind servers. Refreshingly delicious cocktails and yummy flights!! So glad you'll made it through the pandemic!! Hope to visit again soon!!

Flagship flight that was delicious! Great back country feel and friendly staff.

Great little place in the middle of nowhere. Sperryville is a nice location especially in the fall with a bunch of small shops.

I've gone here a couple of times now at least four and have enjoyed many of their drinks. I also tasted one of their flights. On this most recent trip I tried the Ward 8 and what jumped out at me was that it had grenadine in it and I'm akin to that flavor. So, I ended up getting the drink and then once my other friends tried it, we ended up ordering three more of those. Overall, a great place to visit, sit in the back and there's a creek of water and, there's sometimes music playing. Whether it's the spring summer or winter, you can't go wrong and come here to try their drinks. I've bought some drinks from here in the past for some friends as presents and my other friends seem to stock up on their liquor. We enjoy coming here at least 3 to 4 times a year and make it one of our stops when we're out visiting this area. We live about an hour and a half away so we usually pile up a car and make our way down here with at least four to six people. We first stop by and get some food in our bellies at a local pizza place, then come here and then end up at a winery.

This Distillery is in this little alcove with an antique shop, a brewery, a pocket sized ceramics studio and shop, and a couple of other things that are escaping my memory. Ring the doorbell to get in. The giant VERY antiqued door takes some special finessing, and they'll do that for you. Me and T did a tasting of some of the straight liquors while we were here. And to be honest, I wasn't really dissapointed or adverse to anything we tasted. I believe we tasted Rye, Whiskey. I know we tasted Gin. The woman who was leading our taste was so patient and kind. That really made the whole experience worth while. We kept vacillating on which tasting we should do, and how we should structure it. And she was just a truly wonderful guide. Overall, the liquors are pretty expensive if you'd like to buy any of the bottles. Definitely more special occasion drinking for me. That being said, they have some beautiful bottles, really high quality spirits. PLUS there's a little creek in the back, and when it's spring, I'm sure it's pretty lively out there. In the winter, it's not too shabby for taking perfect instagram photos as well. Would definitely love to stop back here and try some of their cocktails when we have time. We stopped by here on the way to The Inn At Little Washington. Definitely glad that we did!

Beautiful area out back though

We stopped by at 11:30 for lunch on a Sunday in fall. We were told there was a 10-15 minute wait, but if we sat at the empty bar we would have to wait the same amount of time because food was behind. Not sure how that works but okay. They have a nice text system for their waitlist, so we used that. We waited in the back room, which had a few tables, a large stage, a pool table, and a jukebox. It was a fun vibe! Once we sat, we both got the cheeseburger- there's only one choice for a meat burger. It took a while to come out. The burger was pretty average. The server described it as a smash burger even though it didn't say that on the menu. The patties were a little thin, with standard toppings on a sesame seed bun. The fries were thin and nothing special. My friend called it a slightly upgraded McDonald's. Again, nothing bad but nothing special. I wouldn't come back, but there aren't many other options in Sperryville.

Great Find In Luray…read more Went hiking with my family in Shenandoah National Park this weekend and overnighted in Luray. We happened across The Chop House by mistake and a lucky one it was! Everything about the meal was fantastic! Our server Pete was terrific. My brother-in-law hit the nail on the head when he said "He was the most unpretentious, informative and friendly server I've run across". Very polite and helpful, you could just tell it made Pete happy to be helpful. The menu is not large, but the dishes we ordered were all top notch. First the Focaccia Bread came and it was just right, a good sigh of things to come. Next the Crab Dip. We are from Annapolis, a crab crazy town on the Chesapeake, where every restaurant has their own "award winning" crab dip, so we are very well acquainted with some of the best, but this one knocked it out of the park. It would win the "Best of Annapolis 2026" if this restaurant was in Annapolis. Next came the Sirloin, at Pete's recommendation. Salted perfectly, and cooked correctly to medium rare, with a side of asparagus cooked to crisp perfection and seasoned with a garlic butter that was just fantastic. We rapped it up with a flight of deserts to share, at Pete's recommendation. Deconstructed Cheese Cake, German Chocolate Cake, Creme Brûlée, and three of their house made ice creams. Again, just Wow. And when the bill came, again a very pleasant surprise. Steak dinner for 4, with cocktails and wine and the bill came to $250. Back in Annapolis that meal would have easily been $400 or more at Lunes Steakhouse, Ruth Chris or the Chart House. My wife and I agreed this meal was better than any we've had at any of these high end resturants. I can't recommend this place highly enough. We'll be back, and nothing against the other servers, but we'll make sure it's on a night Pete is working. Great job Pete and to everyone in the kitchen, just a terrific meal. A friend hit me up for happy hour on a Saturday night, and shockingly, I was home from work early enough to actually make it happen. Even more shocking? We chose Cheeky's, and I couldn't have been happier. The last time I was here was back when it was Casey's and Cheeky's was just launching, so I was excited to see how it had evolved. From the moment I walked in, the vibe was giving elegant, cozy, and intimate. Soft lighting, relaxed energy--basically the kind of place that gently tells you to sit down, sip a cocktail, and forget about your responsibilities. My friends had already ordered and kindly let us sample their food. I can't remember exactly what it was (possibly drunken noodles? Possibly magic?), but whatever it was, it was delicious. Since we didn't want to copy their order, my boyfriend and I went with the duck fries, duck wings, and fried beef tips with rice. Let me start with the fries because...wow. Skinny fries tossed in garlic, what tasted like truffle, and cooked in duck fat. Honestly? Some of the best fries I've had in a long time. I would come back just for those. My boyfriend loved the duck wings, which were generously coated in mumbo sauce. A little too saucy for me (I prefer my wings slightly less...bathed), but the flavor was solid and the portion was more than fair. My fried beef tips were everything--perfect crunch, just the right amount of sauce, and packed with flavor. A true masterpiece that really showcased Asian-inspired cuisine at its best. I also ordered the hibiscus lemon drop, which was so good I considered ordering a second (and did). That said, it was a bit overpriced for the size--but still tasty enough to make me forgive it. Overall, Cheeky's is super chic, serves delicious cocktails, and delivers flavorful, creative food. If you're looking for a food adventure or something a little out of the norm, I 100% recommend stopping by for an evening. My only complaint? I still dream about the pork katsu sandwich they had back in the Casey's days--served with homemade wonton chips. I think about that sandwich more often than I'd like to admit. Please...bring it back.

The only issue i had when I went in, was that the coffee tables are a bit lower to the ground than was comfortable. My friend and I came during restaurant Week, apparently during happy hour! We ordered duck fries off the happy hour menu, but then also crispy beef, cucumber salad, biang biang shrimp, and duck wings. Everything was phenomenal! The cucumber salad was too spicy for me but it was a risk I took, even tho I could see all the flakes of red spicy all over it. Our server was very nice and he even tried to do the math to see which way to ring in or order to make the price in our favor. We told him not to worry about it, it's fine. We actually never got the duck fries, but at least it was the HH price and not full price. Oh! Then we got the red velvet cinnamon roll for dessert... I will say, I didn't love it. I love red velvet everything, but did not love that. The icing didn't taste like cream cheese although it was super light and fluffy... it was warm in some areas and just cold in others... idk, I just think it could be better executed in a couple different ways. Typically i might take a star away for not getting an item ordered and not loving the dessert, but i didn't mention any of it, so there was no option for the establishment to do anything about it even if they wanted to.

Apparently, currently the only day of the week they offer Brunch is on Sundays. I showed up about 11:00 am. The place was full of diners - so instead of waiting for a table, I sat at the bar. It's not a large bar - I'd say it seats approximately 9-10 people. I ordered the Boudin balls - which come with a tasty dipping sauce called "Swamp Mustard." I also ordered the Cajun Omelette - which is stuffed with "smushed Boudin balls." Comes with a side of rather unexciting breakfast potatoes. The Boudin balls were tasty - and had a nice crispy texture. The Swamp Mustard is really good with the balls. The Cajun Omelette was rather ho-hum - I was expecting and hoping for something with more complexity and heat. The smushed Boudin balls were rather bland. The Omelette was cooked properly. The breakfast potatoes were unseasoned. I'd like to try out some other menu items - I'm hoping for something that will Wow me. Paid with Apple Pay. #NewIberiaKitchen
