I had the RibEye and my wife had Spaghetti in French onion sauce. Both were absolutely delicious. Service was top notch. Definitely we will be back. read more

Stayed at Silver Cloud @ Pt Rushton and had breakfast the first day we stayed there. Wasn't worth the price. Just some eggs & Bacon with some hollowed out country potatoes & English muffin, $17. Then dinner that same night that too wasn't worth it. The hubby & I had pasta (Pappardelle & Bolognese) no side salad or even bread. You can have that if you want to dish out more money. It's not like OSF or Olive Garden (included with your meal) luckily we weren't that hungry since we had a late lunch driving around the area. But we spent enough at this restaurant and nothing impressed us. Not even the view. It was a cold rainy weekend but the saving grace was a quick walk to the theater to watch Avatar. This place is about the hype that doesn't live up too. Jump in your car and find somewhere else for your meals. Save your money. read more

I'm standing in their lobby right now. Reservation was at 9:30. We were there at 9:30. It's now 10:00 am and we haven't been seated. They keep saying our table is "almost ready." Absolutely ridiculous. Edit: we finally got sat 45 minutes after our reservation. The service was slow but the food was good. The worst insult though: it's Mothers Day, and every other woman at the restaurant received a flower after their meal. My MIL and I did not. We waited for a bit after finishing and paying the check to see if we'd get ours, but they never came. My kids were with our party so it was clear we were mothers. It just felt really insulting. Overall this was not a good experience. read more

Ate here on thanksgiving thinking it would be a nice change to hosting every year. Arrived to a set menu, which was not advertised, which we were immediately disappointed to see as there were very few items to choose from. Ordered the prime rib out of the minimal options and the bread pudding which they ended up being out of. When the prime rib arrived, it was the thinnest slice of meat I have ever seen, especially for a prime rib. My guess is that they were running out of that option as well and decided to skimp on the portions rather than tell more people that they were out of yet another good option. Not worth the $250 spent on a meal for 2! Would not go back! read more

Family brunch for 10, which was perfect for each person to be able to order what they wanted, most everyone was pleased with their choice. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars was our service, had to ask for water, had to ask for water refills and had to ask for hot water refills for tea, sized dishes sat on the table long after we were finished. Had to wave for the payment to be picked up (it wasn't our waitress that finally helped us). read more

We've eaten here 4 times since the opening. Each time we have high hopes that the food will be better. Each time we are disappointed. No flavor. Dry. Fatty cuts of meat. Descriptions of food are not what is served. Had the St Pattys day corned beef special today. Horrible cut of beef. The bright orange goo under it looked/tasted like baby food. The purple cabbage had ZERO seasoning. Was just kinda wilted...so sad! Had the Tart dessert. I didn't think it was possible to make it w/o sugar! Again, zero flavor. So sad...every meal we've had her w the exception of breakfast has been bad. Beautiful location and most staff are nice...it's very loud most times. read more

Brunch and dinner are excellent. Great views! Lovely atmosphere. It's a fun area to walk around too.

We really enjoyed our brunch!! The food quality was great, and the ambience was even better. I got the pork belly hash and my mom got the eggs benedict. The pork belly hash was delicious, but could have used a bit more pork belly. My mom's eggs benedict was really good, no complaints. Overall a good experience and we will be back!! read more

We stopped in for lunch today on a whim after seeing the restaurant from past hotel events we've attended. The food was amazing and appreciated them getting us in without reservations. Our server was Gracie and we would have had a 5 star dining experience if she had been attentive or came back to see if we wanted additional drinks. We were sad we had to chase her down for our bill, only had 1 drink with our lunch and didn't get a few things we asked for- extra sauce and what not. read more

I ordered the ribeye steak with fingerling potatoes with a side squash. The steak was cooked properly and was tasty, as were the potatoes and squash. The only reason I don't give a better grade was that they sliced my ribeye into strips. I've never had my ribeye cut into strips and I never want it done again. I don't know why they did it. By the time I finished the steak it was almost cold. read more

Double date of married couples for Saturday brunch with reservations in Tacoma at a place that came recommended by the couple that lives in Tacoma. Great view, no denying that! Menu looks better than it ends up tasting. This is not gourmet food - expect something like Red Robin and you'll most likely get something slightly better. The cocktails, however, are likely to be significantly better than Red Robin. The floor staff are, however, drafted from places like Red Robin. Our coffee was scalding hot, the food almost cold upon delivery. Fries looked like they would have been very good if they had been served without must have been a lengthy delay without a warming light. The fried chicken sandwich is architected so that it immediately falls apart in the hands and is impossible to put back together. We had separate checks and one was spot on, the other barely resembled the items that were ordered. Overall, this was perfectly meh as a restaurant, but a very nice spot for a weekend mimosa. I think there was seating at the bar that could see the water, so perhaps I'd try that in the future. read more

Where have I been these past two years that I did not know this restaurant existed. I tried it for the first time today and it was fabulous. It's hard to find only because it's inside the Silver cloud Hotel at Ruston point. It's a beautiful place with a great atmosphere,, view and the service was excellent as was the food, I love shrimp and grits, and they had shrimp and polenta, which was really really good nice and creamy With delicious shrimp in it. They have a small brunch menu but there were a lot of dishes on it that I want to try. I would highly recommend that you try this out because I know you'll go back again and again. They had some interesting cocktails as well as some very delicious wine. It's a must go to!! read more

The food was fine. People will come here for the views and location, but the food wasn't anything special. We had a reservation for 14 and they inexplicably don't split checks, so everyone was pooling cash to try to cover the bill, which seems like an odd thing given that it's 2021 and most places split checks pretty easily. read more

I made reservations for Christmas to have a special lighter meal with my daughter. I was told that they would offer a brunch menu until 2 p.m. with breakfast and lunch items. Since I wanted breakfast, I thought this would be the perfect place and made a noon reservation. I also requested window seating and was told it was first come, first serve. We got there a few minutes early and were asked to wait with a lot of open tables.. I was told that all of the window seats were reserved for larger parties. They then seated us at the table furthest from the window, half into the kitchen. I asked to be moved, which they accommodated. I was then given a prix fixe menu for the price of $89 per person and this was all that was offered. This was not what I expected. When I informed the manager that this was unacceptable, I was offered a candy cane. I stated that this was insulting. I was then offered a bottle of water...again insulting. I had been called several times by this restaurant to confirm reservations and was never told about the special menu, even after I had asked. Even their website does not say anything about this menu. So it is Christmas, my daughter is upset, and I am looking for somewhere open on Christmas for a special meal. Normally I really enjoy this restaurant, but will no longer be a customer. Thanks for the Christmas present. read more

This new restaurant on Point Ruston inside the Silver Cloud is beautiful inside and offers gorgeous views of the sound and Mt Rainier. The menu is very very limited. I ordered the rigatoni--delicious with plenty of pork. My friend ordered the rib eye and loved it. And my other friend ordered the shrimp linguine. It was meh. Not the kind of linguine you'd expect with shrimp, the sauce was...different. Wouldn't recommend. It's pretty pricey here as well. Our waitress was quick but not friendly and didn't have good suggestions or could really tell us what the desserts were. She didn't seem to know the menu. I'd come back but maybe only for drinks and good atmosphere and views. read more

I had high hopes, but I was sadly disappointed. The location is amazing with incredible views. The staff were all very kind and hospitable. Our server was a sweetheart. The drinks were great. However, the food was not good. My hub had the shrimp linguine and it tasted like lemon juice from the plastic lemon bottle mixed with a bottle of chili pepper. For a $24 dish, I wasn't okay with that. I had the rigatoni and it tasted like ravioli from a can. The pasta was over cooked and the sauce was bland. The lighting in the restaurant for dinner on a Saturday night on the water could have been better (see photo). This place has huge potential. Just need to redo the menu and bring in a legit chef. Change the lighting and rearrange some of the awkwardly placed booths that look like they don't belong. The graphics on the website look great. Maybe they are still working out the kinks. I truly wish the best for this place, I know it's not easy staffing a restaurant right now during Covid. I don't like leaving negative reviews, but I wish I would have had this before we decided on a restaurant for date night! read more

Copper and Salt Northwest Kitchen - Bad lighting for Saturday night on the water - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Ruston, Washington

My wife and I were excited to try a new (and gorgeous) restaurant in Tacoma...we "discovered" Copper & Salt NW Kitchen while walking around Pt. Ruston and decided to return for a date night. First off the positives: 1. Very nicely laid out dining area 2. Stunning views of Commencement Bay and the South Puget Sound 3. Modern decor with clean lines 4. Large bar and friendly bar service - wine pours are very generous! 5. Wine by the glass prices are very reasonable 6. Very friendly staff 7. Menu items were not overpriced given the location of the restaurant So...some areas to be worked on: 1. Our food we ordered, although good, came out as if it had been sitting for a while. My wife's salmon, tasty as it was, was not particularly hot. My shrimp pasta dish was only warm on the outside (you know how pasta gets when it has been cooked but then sat on a plate waiting) and warmer on the inside. Good flavor...just appeared to have sat too long. 2. Croutons in the Caesar salad were soggy...probably mixed ahead of time then sat. Nothing wrong with the salad itself but soggy croutons... 3. Our Pana Cotta dessert - well, was more gelatin based than cream based. I think that Copper & Salt has a ton of great potential and I'm willing to give them a break - and another chance. Right now ALL good eateries are suffering from lack of trained staff, limited menu selections and supply chain issues. We might experienced one or more of those issues when we dined there last night. I'm hoping that they start a Sunday brunch (rumor has it sometime in mid-November 2021). Overall I can recommend Copper & Salt with a few caveats that could easily be fixed by the restaurant. Tacoma and vicinity really do need another fine dining establishment and I'm hoping that Copper & Salt becomes one of those! read more

Great food and ambiance! My wife and I frequent this place for date night. The breakfast is very good.

First time we went there it was nice and the Bloody Mary was great. The second time the waiter spilled the whole bottle of cold water on my jeans I was soaked and they didn't even take off the drink or something off my bill at least to make it up! Also the Bloody Mary was not great this time. It just had a frozen celery in it. Disappointed. read more

First time and impressed with the location/view but dinner was underwhelming, lacked flavor, and had poor presentation for the cost. I had the roasted chicken with marinated butter beans. Couldn't even finish it... read more

I just tried to make a reservation online and on OpenTable. Neither would allow a party of 6, you have to call. I called and was told that they would have to get permission from a manager to book a "large group" of 6 and would call me back. The hostess then called and said she was given permission to book a reservation however they had two policies: 1) a 20% auto-gratuity added to the bill, and 2) no split checks. I told her to disregard my request for a reservation after reading the reviews on Yelp and then this phone call. Ridiculous - no future business from me. read more

Looking for dinner on a Wednesday summer night and happened to stumble upon this place. Beautiful venue and awesome views. We had a party of 11 and they were able to seat us thanks ! We basically tried everything on the menu and we all loved the food and hospitality. I had the rib-eye delicious. son had the "secret " kids spaghetti and meatballs he loved it. Fanstic views, modern upscale decor and friendly competent service. The cuisine is Mediterranean/Italian inspired featuring local ingredients like black cod. The menu offerings were rather limited but the everything was very delicious. The staff told that offerings will expand with time, but they want to focus on quality for now. read more

First time at this restaurant and it was a great experience. Seating was beautiful looking out at the Sound. Attentive wait staff and great selection of drinks and entrees. Appetizers were delicious, along with the Lavender 76 cocktail (still craving another). Skirt steak and rib eye were cooked and seasoned perfectly. Highly recommend this restaurant for a special occasion. read more

Absolutely amazing experience! Not only is the backdrop the beautiful waters of the Puget Sound, but the food and service were impeccable! We had steak (beyond tender & juicy), seafood dishes, superb bread, and a delicious dessert. Everything was outstanding! Our server, Marcos, was engaging, funny, helpful, and just all-around fantastic! I will definitely be back to visit this gem! read more

I took my Wife to C&S for her Bday dinner and it was mediocre at best. She had the Chicken that was bland and just plain awful. I had the Meatballs and Skirt Steak, the Meatballs reminded me of Spaghetti O's I ate as a kid. The Skirt Steak was a very slight portion and just Blah. I'm writing this review as my Wife and I are sitting in Red Robin thinking to ourselves how horrible Copper & Salt was. We won't be returing. Btw I gave 1 cause I had no choice. read more

I really enjoyed the food. The service and ambiance was great. We had a big group and services as good.

Birthday Celebration for my niece. The views are beautiful. The ambience was upscale. On the Open Table reservation and on the follow up phone call to confirm our reservation it was noted that we had a guest in a wheel chair and needed an accessible table. When we arrived they had us at a high top table. The hostess was very apologetic, took responsibility for the error and arranged for a round of drinks (or appetizers if we preferred) gratis. (cocktails are $12-$15). The menu is limited but I think that allows them to focus on each dish. We all chose pasta dishes and they were all wonderful. I can speak specifically to the Pappardelle with short ribs and trumpet mushrooms. OMGawd it was delicious. The house bread is a delicious house made Focaccia. My husband and i shared the Sticky Toffee Pudding and it was delicious. The server offered to split our check even though we were told no splitting for parties of 6 (or more). Unfortunately she included not only our dessert but one from someone else in out party. I checked and they weren't charged so I went ahead and paid for it. Perhaps with the reservation snafu and the check error I should only give them 4 stars but the food was so good I want to encourage others to give this restaurant a try. We will go back if we have a special occasion and a few extra dollars to spend. read more

Food was delicious! Especially the bucatini alla Rosa pasta - our table also ordered the pappardelle (sauce wasn't thickened it was a lot like a stew poured over noodles) and the bolognese and we all liked the bucatini the best. This place was all right but I wouldn't say it's my favorite. The views and drinks were amazing but the food was OK. I came with a group of six which 3 of them were kids (under 18) and they told us they could not split the bill. We just needed the bill split three ways, but since we were a group of six they couldn't? It took forever to get her food and by the time I got my pasta it was cold. It kind of ruined the experience for me. read more

We took our kids here to celebrate a job promotion. The pasta dishes were delicious, as were the drinks and salads. Unfortunately, our waitress ruined the experience for us. We were clearly her lowest priority. She never refilled our water or offered us second drinks. When the time came for our check, she literally passed it behind her while talking to another waitstaff person. She never even glanced in our direction. It was unbelievably rude! read more

I've been here twice and the food and service has been amazing! I got the steak and eggs both times *chefs kiss* 10/10 would recommend!! I've also tried a few bites of the French toast... It was really good but I do wish it came with a side. (Bacon, eggs... etc) read more

I made online reservations for the patio and when my party arrived we were told the patio wasn't open. I found that very disappointing because I specifically chose this restaurant due to patio seating. That being said, We were seated indoors with a beautiful view of the water and everyone had a great time. The server made things fun and changed our first impression from a negative one to positive. I would give them another try due to the great service we received. However I would definitely call and confirm a second time that we we have patio seating. read more
