Too bad the Food ( which is the most important part) did not match up to the ambiance and service. Unfortunately, the chicken added to the Caesar Salad lacked any and all flavor, not even salt & pepper. While the Gnocchi was extremely rich the "Homemade" Italian sausage was at best store bought generic sausage and the gnocchi were gummy and gritty. Not to mention, how do you serve a dish like this and not even offer a piece of crusty bread for the sauce? For the prices charged, I expect more. But I'm sure it was important to have cloth hand towels in the bathrooms. read more

Food and our server were amazing- would highly recommend! However, we were asked to leave due to "a reservation for our table". For context we were seated for happy hour at 3:45, ordered apps drinks and eventually dinner. We were considering dessert when a manager came over at 5:50 and informed us that we needed to either move tables or leave as there was a reservation for our table coming at 6:00pm. There were 2 other nearly identical tables open next to us, so I am totally confused as to why this was necessary. We spent over $300 so it's not as if we were wasting table space. Our waitress seemed totally confused when we didn't order dessert and just paid the tab so clearly it wasn't her decision. Such a bummer way to spoil an otherwise wonderful evening. TL;DR Amazing food just don't stay too long read more

Third time there for dinner ... did not disappoint! This time, rather than a double date, with a party of twelve. Service friendly, meal excellent, value pretty dang good. Will be returning! read more

I go to Copper & Salt regularly and have sampled their breakfast, brunch and dinner menu. It's at a gorgeous location, facing the Ruston Way waterfront. The interior is modern and clean. The staff are always friendly. The food can be a little inconsistent at times, but always take feedback and makes things right. I'd say my favorite time to stop in is during breakfast. I used to always get the avocado toast but absolutely love the pork belly hash! The potatoes and pork is seasoned perfectly for a lovely hearty meal! For dinner, I def recommend the scallops! It's a beautiful light dish that couples well with any appetizer of your choosing! read more

We've been here many times for breakfast and dinner. Both menus are wonderful and we often come back with family and friends for the food and views! We had the chance to visit the bar on New Year's Eve which we haven't before. Nic at the bar gave us a memorable experience complete with exceptional service and drinks! Everything was top notch from the quality to the atmosphere! We can't wait to come back and visit with Nic! read more

The Steelhead was amazing and the Italian sausage and gnocchi was awesome. Service was also very good.

Unfortunately my review places this establishment pretty low on my list. While our server was friendly she missed out on some opportunities to be more prepared to meet our needs. We did have one gentleman come to our aid when we asked for enough utensils and napkins and I got up and found the straws myself when the server couldn't seem to bring one. The wait time between taking drink orders and food orders was extremely long and it honestly did not appear the place was to busy vs the available staff. I ordered strawberry pancakes- they were pretty heavy doughy pancakes and the restaurant failed to take advantage of fresh seasonal fruit instead opting for purée and syrup. My bad for not reading menu better. Just assumed a place of this caliber would do it right. My wife had some brioche French toast that was pretty dry in spite of syrup and butter. There were some highlights- bacon, shrimp and polenta, the Bloody Mary, and the wonderful outdoor view of Commencement Bay on a Summer Day. Give them a try but be cautious. read more

We made a reservation at1130 and showed up on time. Not only the table was not availabe, we were made to wait in the lobby for over 30 min. I had to check in a few times to see what was happening. After that experiece the service and the taste of the food did not matter. read more

The breathtaking views and lux decor are what draw me to this place- I have lamented the options for dining on the water since moving here; since this place has opened I often choose this for special lunches. The food and service are great too. Definitely a little spendy but always a memorable experience with the gorgeous setting. read more

It really is a gorgeous restaurant with a great view, but to be honest the food was nothing special, it all looked a lot better than it tasted. Drinks were really good and the service was ok. We went for dinner and breakfast and I think the whole experience and quality of food really varied depending on who was serving you and making the food. We enjoyed our breakfast a lot more than our dinner but even then my breakfast burrito was soggy and lacked flavor. read more

This place has an amazing location! And the breakfast was awesome, especially the mimosa selections.

This is the 3rd time I've been to Copper and Salt. Start with the good! Waterfront location with 20 foot tall floor to ceiling windows for great views to looking to the North. Many window tables, but even non window tables have very good views. Service OK. We did have to wait for 15 minutes despite being on time for our reservation. Staff were friendly. Staff was to our table quickly for pre-meal beverages and water. I ordered a cocktail called Dark Brew; what I received was a Lager beer. Sent it back and 10 minutes later received a dark beer, sent it back and finally received my ordered cocktail 10 minutes after our entrees were plated and on our table. It would have been good before dinner, but did not go well with my Wild Boar Pork shank. I sent it back as well. Disappointing, but mistakes happen. Not too big a deal. Pork shank was flavorful as was the accompanying polenta. Halibut was overcooked, firm, not flakey and was not terribly flavorful or memorable. Porterhouse was ordered medium-rare, but was medium well. At this point we were trying to get through the meal and not cause more delays. For the quality and execution , this steak felt overpriced. Focaccia bread was very good. Good appetizer. Sides of crispy brussel sprouts and marbled potatoes were not good at all. Both were undercooked and had an unpleasant remaining firmness/crispness that was closer to raw than cooked. We sent both back and did not replace them. I discussed with the manager and service rescue was attempted. A complimentary dessert was delivered, a chocolate tort of some type. It was dry, hard and partially frozen. While I appreciate the effort, we tried 2 bites and left the rest. I'm not usually super critical, but the cumulative errors and poor quality kind of ruined the evening and the experience. Overall, not a great experience. Would not recommend and I have no plans to make a 4th visit. read more

I want to give Copper and Salt 4 stars for the food however, it was the service that left a bad taste in my mouth! Coming from the service industry, I can excuse bad service for lack of staff on a busy shift. This was not the case. I went in this evening to enjoy dinner and drinks with a friend. We sat at the bar. The bar was not busy and fully staffed with 3 bartenders! It took some time for us to receive menus and after they were given, we sat there for a long while waiting for our order to be taken. Meanwhile, a couple came in sat down next to us, received menus, glasses of water and the bartender took their order as we continued to wait. We had to flag down the bartender to place our order and once our drinks were delivered, he never checked on us after that. A lovely waitress delivered our food and that was it. No one asked if we were ok, if we wanted another beverage or water. We finally flagged down another bartender for water. It wasn't until we were finished with our meal and ready to check out that another bartender checked to see if we were ok. By then we were just ready to leave. Truly disappointing as we were planning to stay and enjoy another round of drinks and order dessert. Since we were being ignored we decided to take our business across the way to another restaurant. I have never been so disappointed with service and it takes a lot for me to give a bad review! DO BETTER! read more

We were really in the fence about this place because of its hot and cold reviews. Some people love it, some people don't. I don't know how people don't. View? One of the best you can find. Food? Delecious and very hearty portions, service? Five star. I will say we didn't get any pasta dishes, so I can not comment on that portion, but our food was fantastic. One disservice to this restaurant on Yelp is the lack of good pictures. I'm fixing that by putting up our food and drinks! Everything looked and tasted amazing! Our server was one of the best I have ever had! We even got a congrats on our dessert. We will be back to try the pasta, but if it's half as good as our meal was this time, I can confidently say we will be repeat customers for years to come. Do yourself a favor, grab a reservation, and stop on in. read more

My wife and I had dinner here to celebrate her birthday. The food was very good and ample portions. I had lamb chops and she had home made pasta with the short rib. Both dishes were good. The service was good. For an upscale restaurant they could have provided table linen on the patio tables. Good view of Mt Ranier. We returned for a Sunday brunch menu and the place was extremely busy. We did wait over 30 minutes for our food. However, it was obvious that the managers were working hard to serve the guests timely. Will be back. Wife wants table cloths. read more

Copper and Salt is great place to go when you want to impress and show off the beauty of Commencement Bay and South Puget Sound. The menu seems smaller than expected but thoughtfully planned to appeal to a traditional range of preferences. I've been there a few times and always found the food to be very good. The staff have always been friendly and professional and the aesthetic is thoughtfully designed to be traditional and contemporary without being alienating. read more

This was our second time coming here. We were greeted as we walked up by one hostess who said they didn't have tables, so we walked away and noticed there were reservations available every 15 minutes on open table, so we asked her why they had reservations but no tables. Another hostess walked up with an attitude and told us even with a reservation we would have to wait anyway due to not having enough tables. So we decided to go to the bar to grab drinks while we waited. The second hostess came up to us a few minutes later saying our table was ready so we figured we could have our bill sent to our table but she stopped us and with an attitude said my husband had to stay to pay while I went with her to get the table. We should have just left when we first got told there were no tables but didn't. Our server made up for the rude hostess because he was absolutely amazing and friendly. I got the meatballs which were very good and my husband the octopus (which he said was the worst octopus he's ever had, said they were super rubbery and undercooked). We both got the bolognese for our meal which was ok, it wasn't anything to write home about but it wasn't bad. I don't think we will come again just by the hostess being rude and the food being subpar. read more

Food was not good at all, I mean for the price I expected something decent. Service and view was good, I'll give them that. You're paying for over priced, bland, frozen food. The valet service was terrible, we stood there for about 5 minutes before Being acknowledged by the vale staff who would greet people coming in, it was a little surprising. We won't eat here again. read more

Food was really good. Flavors i didn't expect. But we order an appetizer entree and dessert and had no complaints. Even my 7 year old liked it and she's picky. Pepperdelle was underwhelming, with its horseradish sauce being on the sour side (sour cream taste). Be prepared to ask for extra salt or pepper. Mushrooms was a fun match for the pasta. Texture was pleasant. The chocolate tart had salted caramel - too salty for me - and was a bit difficult to eat with spoons - ask waiter for fork and knife instead. The crust is a bit tough. Overall enjoyed our evening. Waiter was nice and helpful. Would come again. read more

This was my 2nd visit, first time for dinner. The service was great, they have complimentary valet for dining as well. The ambience is just a bit cold and dark to be inviting and warm. The appetizer (speck) was very tasty but we were left wanting more baguette. We both had the bolognese which was cooked perfectly. We ordered a side of the roasted carrots but sadly they came well past the entrees and were overcooked and soggy. While we enjoyed the food, the price point is just a bit high for what you get. Location probably pays a part, however we won't be back. read more

This was our first time dining with Cooper and Salt, this won't be our last. We had an amazingly friendly and attentive waiter. He knew the menu well and provided us with excellent recommendations. This is a semi-fancy restaurant, yet no need to be dressed up. We ordered, focaccia bread, Cesar salad, Papadelle with short rib, rib eye and bread pudding. Let me say this dinner did not disappoint. This place has potential, with a great location on the water, and terrific views. However, the menu and food leave much to be desired. The hosts at the front had to walk a nearly empty restaurant twice to figure out where we would be seated: we had reservations. We found the menu to be quite sparse, but both ordered the beet salad. The dressing did not deliver. When you put farro in a salad, you need to dress generously. It was lacking in seasoning (ironically a bit of salt would have helped) and overall flavor. The pappardelle was meant to have short ribs and mushrooms. No short ribs were seen, loads of mushrooms. Pasta was good, but stingy on one of the ingredients. Halibut was also severely under seasoned and a bit much on some spicy oil that did not hide an unpleasant fish odor. The broccolini was undercooked, had absolutely no seasoning, and tasted like propane from a gas grill. Inedible. Waitress didn't ask me if they were ok, just if I'd like a to go box. We won't be going back. read more

Gorgeous setting that has a lot of potential! Came in a group of six primarily for the view. Lavender cocktail was enjoyed by multiple in our party, as was the mussels. Focaccia bread was average- would have preferred a nice crusted French bread or similar to stand up to the sauce! Ordered a variety of different pasta dishes- bucatini, fiorelli, and kid's mac and cheese. The mac and cheese tasted really off- creamy without being cheesy. The bucatini was an average plate of pasta that was missing something but hard to say what exactly. The fiorelli also tasted really flat- not enough sauce and very dry, even when eating with the burrata. The food alone was a bit Olive Garden, so we wouldn't come back for that alone, but maybe in the future for another go around if the menu changes to see if the food quality/depth has improved at all. There aren't many options for non meat eaters save for pasta, and only one seafood main on the menu. Service was average. We never didn't have what we needed, which was nice and very much appreciated when dining in a group. read more

Don't let the fact that this is a hotel restaurant fool you! I'll start with the positive- The wife and I went out to Saturday brunch. Complementary valet parking while dining and a great view of the Puget Sound, check and check. The crowd wasn't an issue at 1030 and we were seated immediately. The breakfast food was really good. Quite possibly the best biscuits and gravy I've had! The eggs Benedict was excellent. Coffee was also very good. Would have been 5 stars if our server hadn't been so meh. We were seated and waited a full 15 minutes before she acknowledged us. It's one thing if they were busy, but this was not the case. Then she gave us a lame excuse as to why she was so slow. She seemed stressed for some reason. And we asked for hot sause and was given an empty bottle. We had to flag down the bar tender to get this taken care of because the server was again MIA. The food more than made up for the mediocre service though. We'll definitely be back for brunch in the future. Med read more

I would come here more often if it wasn't so overpriced. The restaurant itself is beautiful. The service was fast and very friendly. I loved the Ruston Revival cocktail and really really loved the ricotta toast! I was hoping to get the sea bass as I had seen it on the website menu, but it turned out they had halibut instead. Mine was slightly overcooked, and the beans it came with were nothing special. My husband had the lasagna and said it was a little dry and could have used more sauce and cheese. If I come back I think I will stick to drinks and appetizers only. read more

Let me say the service here is 5 stars and that's why it gets 5 stars. The bacon is done well, not rubbery. I thought the biscuits and gravy was kind of small. I'd give the biscuits and gravy 3.5 stars. The avocado toast I had a wasn't bad, I'd give it 4 stars. The coffee was 5 stars. Whatever that coffee is, I guess I should ask. So here's my biggest fault. The Bloody Mary tasted like a virgin Bloody Mary. It is definitely not worth $13. I would normally get 2 at brunch like a gentleman. But the Bloody Mary was very weak to ask the least. I'd give the Bloody Mary 2.5 stars. However, my waiter was very attentive and not annoying. He seemed to have timing down to a perfection. My jacket fell and he caught it and put it on the chair next to me. The restaurant called me because somebody left a grey sweater and they thought it was possibly me. The service here is what makes this place 5 stars. On and the VIEW when you're in a booth on a window facing the puget sound anytime of the year is 5 stars. It's a prime location. Go for the service and the ambiance is my advice. read more

Made reservations at Copper and Salt for a special celebration as had heard about the fabulous views. Unfortunately, didn't ask about the food. Service was AWFUL, food even WORSE! Waited 20 minutes for our Bloody Mary's and 25 to take our orders. Two of us ordered BLT's, ALL bread and ALL bacon fat! Truly disgusting. My aunt orderd the burger, bun was stale and dripping with condiments, like that might help with the dry/stale bun? She was only able to eat the patty. Grand total $115! 6$ for a cup of black coffee. Avocado toast with so little avocado I don't think you can legally call it avocado toast. My brioche French toast was..ok but, can I get some syrup? Oh, it doesn't come with syrup? Then why did the woman next to me get syrup w hers. The food is ok. But 21 dollars for toast that is wearing avocado perfume is a little steep. 19$ for 3 pieces of dry brioche French toast and 12$ for 2 cups of SUPER MID coffee is kinda crazy. 5/10 would not recommend read more

Copper and Salt is a nice, clean, elegant establishment. You can sit outdoor and feel the breeze and see the ocean or you can dine inside with an oceanfront view, regular dining, or sit at the bar. We started the night with fried oysters, mussels, and focaccia. The mussels and oysters were amazing. The focaccia was a little too salty. For my entre, I had the PAPPARDELLE and it was not that good it has an acquired taste. However, overall I love the scenery and atmosphere of this restaurant. This is the second time I have been to this location. Went in for brunch on the weekends no line. Nobody at the bar. Amazing view from most tables. Light noise. Great ambience! Every dish was delicious. Every drink tasted perfect. The pork belly needed a little more flavoring, as it was a little bland for my friends liking. She added hot sauce and that made all the difference. Ate half of the lox's and enough to take home for two more meals. The two bartenders were extremely friendly and knowledgeable.
