I was having breakfast at this restaurant, and the sandwich they gave me had way too much vinegar -- the bread was completely dark and it was so sour my teeth almost fell out. So I told them to either remake it or give me a full refund. They said they could only refund the sandwich because I'd already had my matcha. I said, "If I had drunk it, there would be marks on the rim -- but there's not even a single trace on it." Then he pointed to one side, and I said, "There's no liquid there." He pointed to the other side, and I said again, "There's nothing there." Then he said, "You drank it, look at the rim." I said, "There's no green on the rim either." They were obviously just lying so they wouldn't have to refund me for the matcha. I said, "If I had drunk it, the amount would've gone down, and there would be some green marks on the cup. So where's the green? Where's the missing drink?" Then she just pointed at the white part and said, "Here." I said, "Where exactly?" And she went silent and said, "Calm down, calm down," in this really sarcastic tone. That woman was absolutely disgusting. read more

What a great place to study! Never knew there was so much space and seating in this place. Love the upstairs area with couch, tv, books, large table for multiple people. Cozy and cute. Lots good natural light even on cloudy days. Nice selection of breakfast pastries, hot food, and yogurts. All the favorite coffee drinks are available. Shocker for me was finding out vanilla syrup was free and sits with the sugar and cream. Sweeet. Lol took a risk and had regular milk because I'm just tired of paying extra for alternative milk. I'm still alive to write this review. The latte was just ok. I've had better with stronger tasting espresso. Also, I saw in the evenings they have cocktails, wine, and beer and possible happy hour?? Looking for a place to work from home or study, this is your place. I've been to a few cafes in NJ and this one is by far the most relaxing and cozy to get your work done. I ordered peppermint tea and a croissant from here and both were delicious. The tea wasn't sweetened or anything but that was my preference. They also have a fridge with a bunch of good drinks ranging from kombuchas to different beers and energy drinks. I would 100 percent recommend this place if you want to get out of the house and get some work done! read more

Wanted to love this super cute café so bad! Honestly the only reason I'm even giving it 2 stars is because of the vibe and decor which were absolutely perfect. Matcha green tea latte- shortly basic. Not enough matcha flavor and it wasn't sweet enough either. I asked to make it sweeter, she put simple syrup which almost did nothing. Didn't want to keep adding more sugar in my body so I left it as is. The pastries didn't look too appealing in my eyes either. They have cold sandwiches daily if you were looking for more of a meal. They let you sit in the back or front which is nice. Return? Maybe if I need a quiet space Outside my apartment to get some work done. Recommend? For the same reason as above. read more

They DO NOT know how to make a decaf latte. I have given several tries but it tastes extremely burnt almost every time. There is a different technique and temperature required for making a decaf latte and they simply do not know. As a shop that pretty much exclusively sells coffee and invested in a beautiful, expensive machine this is something they really should master. Otherwise, everything else as far as the service, pastries, regular lattes and ambiance is very nice. read more

Went with friends to study for a few hours over the weekend. Parking was a little difficult to find, but it was the perfect study spot. I really liked the aesthetic of the cafe and there was ample seating, lots of outlets, Wi-Fi, and lamps for extra lighting. I've tried both the cold brew and the americano and the coffee was also really good -- a little on the darker side. I didn't get the chance to try any of their food items, but a friend tried one of the breakfast sandwiches and said it was very tasty. read more

Omg I love this coffee shop so much!!! I love how much natural lighting it gets from the big windows and ceiling windows, and the decor is very pleasant and natural (lots of green, wood, and stone colors). It's a great space for doing work, they have many different corners of the cafe, big open networking tables, small round individual tables, large sectional couches, an upstairs that's more quiet and dark, and outdoor space! It's part of an apartment complex, and dog friendly. They offer a variety of sandwiches, pastries, and drinks on their menu, def recommend. This is definitely going to be one of my go-to cafes in North Jersey! It is super spacious, has an array of different seating, lots of coffee options, and is great for those who are interested in a quiet workplace. I loved the outdoor seating, as well as the cocktail options available, although I did not drink. Prices were fair, and the music was at the perfect volume. I had a chocolate crossaint and a coconut guava refresher beverage that was made with coconut milk. Everything I had was excellent: fresh and tasted delicious. I definitely recommend this place as one for a date, catching up with friends, or a quiet place to work. read more

Really hoping someone in charge reads a few of the other reviews including mine and takes them into account--ambience and atmosphere is beautiful. Quiet place to work from home or study if you're doing that. Their food is pretty good and like that the baristas are bilingual (very helpful!). I've gotten a few beverage items from their menu and so far their mocha latte is pretty yummy and their coffee is okay (sometimes tastes a little burnt). I got a matcha latte this time around and I really think there needs to be more training for the baristas on the pours for coffee and lattes. Barista out two (giant) scoops of matcha into my latte and a matcha isn't supposed to have more than 1 scoop (or 1 teaspoon) of matcha powered in it. The taste completely overwhelmed me when I took a sip, sugar and milk didn't help at all. If I'm paying $6 for a coffee or other flavored latte it would be nice if there was more consistency in how they're made. This isn't a reflection of the baristas ability to make anything---this is totally on the management and helping to provide training. I'll stick to the mocha next time though... read more

Been here a couple times the first time was shortly after their opening and the second was months later. The setting is awesome. It is equal part chill café with an upscale feel. As far as what they offer, nothing has wowed me. I think their coffee is Nicaraguan which sounds really good and I'm sure it is, but didn't really impress in either visit. On a more recent visit I was told they were out of almond milk. That's not the worst thing, but I'm sure other similar spots small or big time like Starbucks wouldn't let this happen. I've seen mention of croissants in other reviews but both of my visits I didn't see much in the way of food or snacks available. Were they out of this too? If so each visit must have been hit with a rush moments before me coming in. Again the setting is easily the best part about Coperaco. Outdoor seating both in the front and back of café, lounge area, and standard tables, with nice soft lighting. If their offerings are tightened, it can be a nice coffee shop, but as it stands more pretty than anything. read more

This place looked like a spot to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee with my wife. The coffee... was alright. I just got a vanilla latte and it just didn't have too much flavor. But the worst, the workers here did not care at all about food safety. They did not greet us when we went to the register, did not seem to know the menu well. I watched the barista sip her own coffee AND eat her own sandwich as she made our beverages!! That's food safety 101. I'll say the croissants tasted nice, and this place obviously caters to students who don't care too much about the service. But if you think this will be a nice place to sit and relax, the price is not worth it and the ambiance doesn't make up for the (lack of) service. read more

I'm all about the aesthetics of a cafe and this place has captured my heart the minute I walked in, I was swept away by the greenery and decor. The natural lightening and ambience of this place is captivating. I ordered their oat milk latte, and the coffee is pretty standard, it doesn't necessarily blow me away but the ambience captures it all. The music isn't overbearing and it is a great place to study and relax and enjoy by yourself or with some friends. They produce their own beans, so I wonder if the other coffee selections would have a bit more kick than their latte. First off, parking is abysmal. So probably don't head over here unless you're taking mass transit or you live within a walkable distance. Everywhere relatively close by is only 2 hour parking or you have to pay for parking in the parking garage down the street, which, if you're planning on staying all day, is $15. The cafe is pretty quiet, the music isn't super loud and most of its patrons are doing work or studying. There is a small upstairs loft area resembling a tree house that kind of lets you get away from the rest of the cafe. The entire place is super cute, decorated with a lot of greenery. Not the most clean of tables, and no hipster latte art, but the place does the job. A small coffee to stay, though, is a lot smaller than a coffee to go. read more

My friend discovered this store via instagram and we decided to give this place a visit. BEAUTIFUL INTERIOR When you first enter the store, you see the beautiful interior with greenery on the top. They do also sell cookies and other bottled drinks/pre-made sandwiches. I got to try their cafe au lait. I waited about 5min for a freshly made cup. The coffee itself wasnt to out of the ordinary. It is just a simple cup of coffee OTHER MISC 1) They have a limited selection of board games to play 2) They have a huge wall of magazines 3) The staff stated that they have a days where there is a live music night and they sell an assortment of alcoholic drinks. So good, I came twice. ;-) No, literally. I had an overnight stay at the hotel up the street and I always check for nearby coffee shops. Coperaco came up and I had to check it out. The story behind the interior design was pretty cool and the pictures were a dream for those who are into social media aesthetics. Upon entering, the inside was big! I was so surprised because it's attached to an apartment complex, but that didn't even matter! There is foliage everywhere! There is a lot of natural lighting that comes into this shop and the furniture and colors really complement it. The first time I ordered I had an amazing red velvet muffin and the cold brew with salted caramel cold foam; it needed more sweetness, but it was good nonetheless. On the second day, I had the pumpkin latte and the TBE&G on a brioche. The coffee tasted great, but was lacking in pumpkin flavor and the breakfast sandwich was not warm all the way through. Coperaco has great quality products, but execution and consistency can be worked on. I will say this is a great place to study or get some work done since there is ample room, it's relatively quiet, and has plenty of outlets for you to plug up. read more

Coperaco is located steps away from the Harrison Path Station and is in the lobby of the Harrison Urby apartment complex (Yes, it is open to the public). If you are not familiar with this area you can walk to Five Guys and go straight towards the back to where you'll see this place glistening with lights. This is the cutest little cafe I have been too! Walking in, the decor is breathtaking. It gives me tree house vibes! There was light music playing in the background and people quietly sitting there on their laptops enjoying a cup of coffee and/or a snack. I ordered an almond croissant and a hot chocolate which came up to a little over $7. They have other options such as lattes, sandwiches, cookies, yogurt, etc. They also have a bar. The almond croissant was great, the hot chocolate was mediocre. I was also turned off by the amount of flies in the pastry cabinet. It's food, I get it, but it does not look appealing. My friend and I roamed around the cafe before we picked a spot. There are multiple seats around the cafe including an upstairs area where they have lounging chairs and a long table. Downstairs, they have board games and a TV. Almost all the seats had an outlet for your laptop and there is free wifi (you do not need a password). Since this place is walking distance from my residence, I will be here more often! read more

It's one of the prettiest coffee shops in the area. It's spacious and wide open with a high ceiling so the sunlight brightens up the entire cafe. The cafe has a home feel to it. Front part of the 1st floor has a communion table and coffee station, back area has round tables and sofa/lounge chairs. Upstairs is a lot smaller but is more decorated like home lounge area with a TV. They seem to have knoll furnitures and chairs which is the major factor why the cafe is so neat and pretty. Coffees and baked goods are very inexpensive. It's pretty affordable and coffee is decent. They also sell liquor after 2pmish. Only downside is the parking. It's really hard to find parking. This place is a hidden gem if you are not part of the neighborhood. As soon as I walked in I was immediately drawn in by the decor. There is a variety of baked goods and yummy treats to select from. I tried the Serrano and Brie sandwich. It was okay (not enough Brie on it to taste the cheese) but I also got some treats to go which were really good. Coffee was good as well. I like the fact that it is a co-working kind of space as it is a perfect spot to read a book, blog on simply work on a project. I will definitely be back to try out the happy hour and hope to attend live events in the future. read more

Before today, Harrison, to me, was a PATH stop i've never been to and a town very close to Newark i've never been to. However, now that it is a town that I have been to, it's way more developed than I thought it was, has more food and drink options than I anticipated, and it's absolutely packed when the Red Bulls are playing. The main road (697) was a mess, but I managed to find parking on Angelo Cifelli Drive, and with the seemingly lax (and very free) parking regulations in this area I suspect you will have no trouble getting a spot, especially on a non-soccer day. We came in for a quick coffee but the atmosphere was so cool we stayed for a bit. There's plenty of seating and a ton of natural light spread over two floors, making it a great place to sit and hang out for a while. I thought my latte was excellent - the espresso was really smooth and it wasn't too milky. There's a lot of other coffee-type drinks to try, and plenty of food that looked good. Prices were as anticipated for a place that looks like it was plucked from the middle of Grove Street. I don't want to assume it's the only coffee place in the area, but it's very definitely very likely the only one with this vibe. Warning: Even though we both had three bars of LTE inside, neither of us could get our data to work, neither AT&T nor Verizon. As soon we we stepped outside...no issues. Weird. Amazing ambiance.
