The food here is fire. it's really filling perfect if you're hungry. the salad that i got is sooo good i forgot what it was called but it had like kale, oats, turkey, and feta i believe. that thing was so good and so was the sandwich. the service is great there was a super nice barista that put heart latte art on our cups! super sweet i think her name is Felicia, someone needs to give that girl a raise bc she has great customer service. if ur gonna come here, u def gotta try the food! great place to study, or hang out. probably better to sit outdoors if you're gonna hang out tho bc there's a lot of people trying to get work done in there, the place is pretty busy. read more

This cafe is very close to downtown Pasadena. The parking is street parking, which is to be expected. The cafe was VERY busy at the time when we visited and there were no open seats inside so we found a small table to sit at on the street. The service though was very fast! We ordered a vanilla iced latte and a chocolate chip cookie. The iced latte was good but you couldn't really get that creamy vanilla flavor we were hoping for. The cookie was super salty. They didn't advertise it sprinkled with sea salt, so we ended up taking most of the salt off since it was way too much. Overall, this cafe was okay. Like I said definitely busy. So if you're looking for more of a chill cafe this one might not be the place to go. But definitely if you're in the area give it a try! read more

They have a pretty big open seating area and don't miss the back section for more seating! A lot of natural light in the morning, which is a plus! I have been a customer for years and have always liked the location and the general atmosphere. However, in recent times, the condition of the coffee shop has become frankly abominable. Every single surface is grimy and covered with dust and dirt. Even the shelves on which their merchandise is displayed have a thick layer of dust and coffee grains. All the chairs, windowsills, walls, and even equipment are dirty. (please look at the pictures I have taken on the 8th of Jan 2026 ). I am not saying that they should buy new furniture or repaint, or anything like that, but to simply clean the place is well within everyone's reach, in my opinion. I feel like keeping the place in such a condition is disrespectful to the paying customers, who come to rest and enjoy their time, and instead see dirt everywhere they look. How the managers don't see it, I can't comprehend. Or do they see it and think it is all good enough, and the customers should be okay with this? Additionally, the condition of the place raises sanitary concerns. If the main area that customers can see is in such a state, what is going on in the kitchen? Is it even safe to eat here? Maybe it will be worth my while to file an official complaint with the Environmental Health Services Division. Basically, I would recommend avoiding the place until they adopt a different attitude to sanitation to avoid potential health issues and spoiling your mood. I feel strongly about the places where customers pay money to uphold at least the bare minimum of cleanliness and respect for their customers. read more

Went for the matcha and it did not disappoint. Treated a friend to coffee. For a latte and matcha I paid $15. Kinda pricey considering 99% of the cup was ice. I knew when I stepped in that I had been here before and I had...years ago. When you walk in, you see many people settling in for the day to get their work on. We stopped in for a quick, impromptu breakfast on a weekday and this place did not disappoint. Hubs got the chorizo burrito and I got the chorizo hash: mine felt like a deconstructed, more pricey version of the burrito. Both were good and super filling. Came here this past weekend after the Santa Anita 5k . My husband wanted a fast and quick breakfast place and I wanted to good coffee place. So this is the place for both. They have a variety of breakfast choices and they also have some delicious coffee. I ordered the veggie breakfast burrito and a honey latte and my husband ordered the turkey brekie sandwich and a flat white and my son ordered a grilled cheese sandwich with some kind of meat. I liked my veggie burrito just wish it had a bit more hash browns. My husband enjoyed his sandwich. I think the real star of this place for me is their coffee. I was done with mine and was still trying to clean the inside of my cup.It was that good. To bad it's to far for me to go more often. LOVE THE FOOD. skip the drinks. I ordered the Iced chai, and as you can see in the picture, 3/4th of the cup was ICE. I like ice, but my drink was gone in like 5 sips. I paid like 7 dollars for my ice chai (i added syrup), which I felt was outrageous, especially since they simply use a chai concentrate from Rishi straight from the box. So I guess just save yourself some money and buy the box of RIshi chai concentrate for 7$ instead of the measly drink. Additionally, When I came in august they had pumpkin spice drinks, but now in November they do not. The food here is the real star of the show. It is consistently good. Ive had both the chipotle and korean rice bowl, and was very impressed. It is much higher caliber than youd expect any coffee shop to have! So delicious and filling. They do have a nice ambiance. This is the perfect place to come if you want to work on your laptop. They have plenty of tables. The times that ive come here the service has been just okay. The first time, the man service was very unhelpful when you tried to ask questions. The most recent time, the girl taking my order was very nice, but she spoke SO quietly i could hardly hear, Ultimately, come here if youre looking for a filling lunch and a nice place to work on your laptop. I wanted to love this place. My boyfriend and I were checking out the film spots of the Apple TV show, Shrinking, and Copa Vida was down the street from Central Park (another film spot). Ordered an iced golden chai and it had a very strong turmeric taste (love it!) but it tasted like I was drinking turmeric milk. I also ordered a brownie (another reference to Shrinking), however, the brownie was stuck to the parchment making the eating part of this visit not so pleasing. The exterior tasted over baked. I came in here after attending the Jackalope art fair because I just wanted a quick bite to eat. This is actually the first Copa Vida I've ever been to. I really liked how spacious it was inside. There are two main seating areas, one where you first come in, and a whole other area to the left, which is a separate room with a long bar. They have a free water station there, which is nice. I got a veggie breakfast burrito, which was delicious. It really hit the spot for me. Plenty of veggies in there and it came with a little salsa. I also got a strawberry matcha latte, but it wasn't very good. It tasted too watery. You could barely taste the matcha flavor and the strawberry taste did not come through until you got to the bottom. Not sure what happened there but unfortunately, it was one of the worst matcha drinks I've ever had. I was also surprised that they didn't really have anyone bussing tables. I had to sit down at a dirty table. They had someone bringing out orders but not someone cleaning, so maybe they were short-staffed that day. This is a trendy coffee shop that offers food and coffee. This is really close to the Green St. parking structure so that's pretty convenient. This place tends to get quite busy so seating might be difficult to find. I got the Croque Madame with a side of Tomato Soup and a Golden Chai Latte. I enjoyed the Croque Madame, it was covered in sauce, a runny egg, ham, and all of this tasted delicious. I wasn't a fan of the tomato soup, it tasted a little sour for my preference. Love this space for a cup of coffee and a few hours studying or working at one of the back room tables, or connecting with friends over a breakfast burrito and some hot drinks. I'm a big fan of their iced vanilla latte, and though it isn't cheap, the pricing is in line with pretty much any cafe in Old Town. For me, what sets Copa Vida apart is really the ample seating and the ambiance. The few outdoor tables are nice when the weather is right (a good chunk of the year). It can definitely get a bit loud and crowded, but nothing a nice pair of noise-cancelling headphones can't fix. I'd suggest getting here close to opening on the weekends if you don't like to wait, as it fills up quickly. I've never had to wait more than 10 minutes for a seat to open up though. read more

Visited this location at 9 AM today, on a Saturday, to catch up with a friend. This is the perfect time to get coffee because the line usually consists of just a few people, typically three or more. There is plenty of open seating, and the overall aesthetic is very nice and clean. Although coffee is expensive these days, I feel like this place is worth it. The staff taking my order were friendly! I saw other reviews on here mentioning different experiences. I feel like, in all things in life, every person and every experience is different. I feel lucky to have had a good experience. I also love the latte art made by the barista (see picture!). Regarding the bathroom, there is one stall for men and women, and it is clean as well. You can park across the street in the parking structure, which is affordable. It was $1 for the first hour and $2 for each additional hour. The coffee was more on the bitter side which we were ambivalent on but just wanted to put it out there. The food here was great and gratuitous in size! What I like about this coffee shop is their bright and airy interiors which highlight their beautiful exposed brick walls. Furthermore, it's huge space was so impressive that they have an honor bar, espresso bar, and slow bar. I came here, as a first time customer, on an early Sunday morning to have some breakfast. We were hunting for a coffee shop with good food in Pasadena and we settled on this cute cafe just off the main strip. Couldn't be happier with our decision. The coffee satisfied our caffeine craving but the star was the vegan eats we chose. I would absolutely go back for the vegan breakfast sandwich. That was the best breakfast sammy I've had in a long time...meat or plant-based. Impossible patty AND a thick slice of tofu (medium density). Perfect texture for the dish. Coffee and pastries are decent. We came here on a Saturday morning and ordered a butter croissant, everything but the bagel croissant, honey latte, and cold brew. If you order any of the pastries, definitely ask for it to be heated up otherwise it's just soft. I learned my lesson and my butter croissant had none of that crunch you expect from the outer layer of a croissant. I brought the everything but the bagel croissant home though, reheated it in an air fryer before eating, and it was significantly better. The Béarnaise sauce is a fantastic balance of tart and creaminess. The tomato slices cuts the richness of the caramelized onions and balances out the ham and cheese. My only suggestion would be that the eggs shouldn't be fried in a non-stick pan with virtually no oil - the bottom of the fried egg has the texture of rubber. read more

They say that people won't remember what you said or what you did, but will remember how you made them feel. Well, it's been months since I went here and I can't remember what was said or done, but I do remember the way I felt. And it wasn't great. Sometimes when there are nicks in the plates that you are served food on, it is because the place has character. But for some reason, at Copa Vida it gives off the feeling that they are trying too hard. It just doesn't fit the ambience. When you order toast, you expect that the plates won't be as cold as ice. But for some odd reason, they were colder than a glacier on the south pole, if that's even possible? I guess it is. To top off the abominable vibe, the items are overpriced for what you get. The iced mocha I had tasted way too watered down. You'd think being a coffee shop they would know better, right? Apparently, they did not. Copa Vida is Spanish for Cup of Life. The sad thing is there's not much life here. Or at least there wasn't when I went there. Kate Galvin said that if something doesn't grow, then it rots. Well, I hope that isn't the case with this place. I haven't spent much time in Old Pasadena before, but I met up with some friends for a Sunday brunch and was really impressed! The menu may not look that special at first glance but the quality of the food really surprised me. You order at the counter, take a number, and find a table. We ordered the Croque Madame, Chorizo Egg Hash, and Turkish eggs and toasted foccacia. I had the Turkish eggs as well as the seasonal Mango Garden of Eden Spritzer to cool off on a hot day. The Turkish eggs REALLY surprised me. I wasn't expecting the focaccia to be so fluffy and for the dish to be this flavorful. The poached eggs were perfectly cooked and all the flavors really melded perfectly. This was probably some of the best bread I've had recently. It didn't look like much at first glance, but I would definitely order this again. The spritzer was very refreshing, perfect for the 100-degree weather. It wasn't too sweet, and you could taste the herbs. A little over priced in my opinion, but brunch is brunch! Parking is street parking. I have heard wonderful things from my Yelp friends about Copa Vida. When I had plans with a friend to go to the Huntington Library Museum and Gardens we decided to stop by prior so that we won't be hungry during our adventure. Parking is probably the greatest obstacle coming here. We made a few circles on complicated one way streets before we decided to park at some meter parking a few blocks away. We also found the place to be popular on a Saturday morning and incredibly busy. They had a lot of seating inside and a few more tables on the outside. Given so, one of us rushed to the opportunity of a nice table outside while the other went inside to order. For our drinks, my friend had their Iced Mocha ($6.50) and I had a hot Vanilla Latte ($6.25) knowing they do cute latte art here. For our meal, we both had their Croque Madame ($17.25). It comes with the option of soup or salad, and we both opted for the soup. Everything was delicious! The croque madame comes with ham, caramelized onions, tomato, melted gruyere, sunny egg and a generous amount of bernaise sauce. The house focaccia bread was toasted nicely. The tomato soup complimented the croque madame perfectly. It was the perfect bite to start off and fuel our day.
