Copa is my go-to HK cafe restaurant for a quick and filling meal. We live in the area so we always get takeout from copa. Both my husband and I find that the mini-meals is more than enough for both of us to be full, sometimes I even have left overs for lunch if I'm really not up for it. The price is decent - around 13 per meal plus drink. I do know that normal dinner menu is a lot more expensive so I would recommend only coming here for the mini-meals which run from 11ish to 6 and then 9 to close. Highly recommend! read more

went in with group 6 for dinner, services at first was fast and efficient - but it went downhill at least for my order - "baked" red curry seafood, it was wrapped in aluminum foil when it came out, not the same in the menu ! others in the group ordered steak - came out first, chow mein second, tandoori chicken (not tasted like tandoori) third and two other baked also came out, half hour later and many requests to check my order - finally arrived but not hot inside - as well the rice was not hot! ate it anyway because I was with a group, if by myself I would just returned and walked out!!! my $14 wasted. Taste wise, it was good but the service -1. on to the other orders in my group, the steak at $17 and chow mein $15 etc, portions were larger than other HK style cafe, but so were the prices. final bill for 6, $98+ .... read more

Worse attitude. Food is overpriced. One of the waitress put the wrong drink on our table didn't say anything and left, after couple minutes she is back and took the drink away said is not our order... don't even ask us have you tried it ? Love copa cafe. Started going to Richmond location with my parents and was ecstatic to find there was one closer to where i live. Milk tea is delicious, breakfast is a great deal, service is always prompt and friendly, and most important food quality is good and consistent! This is my usual breakfast place with my family, vermicelli soup bowl with drink and eggs and bacon and toast for $11-$12, can't go wrong with that. I used to go to mcafe just down the street because its so much bigger and i never have to worry about no seating but copa's beef quality was so much better in comparison. Only complaint is lack of parking and credit card accepted only if ur bill is over $30 (not big enough deal to deduct a star). I try not to go on weekend usual meal times cuz it does get very busy. Great food, huge portions, inexpensive! We come here frequently and the food is great. Service is quick and even though we don't speak Cantonese, we've had NO issues with our orders & always have good service. The menu is very large, lot's of choices. Portions are huge, you will have leftovers! The 'spicy' soup broths are not as spicy as I'd like. The Szechuan peppercorn broth has a good flavour, I like it with vermicelli noodles & fish balls. This was probably the most expensive restaurant for ordinary foods. It was our first time trying and feel like total ripped off. We ordered fried noodle taste was OK, the price was $18.75. Every cheap food item in his restaurant is above $16. We ordered 2 noodle dishes and 1 pork chop, total came to $71.66. If you looking for just ordinary Chinese food, go somewhere else. The service was absolutely horrible, we have to waited for 30 minute to got back our change. We never ever go back there again. read more

I have been to Copa Cafe on Cambie St Vancouver a few times and their food and service was fine to me. This was my first time to visit the one in Coquitlam, and my experience was a 5 Star... MINUS!!! (too bad, have to rate 1 positive star to them!) The environment is more to the high-end decorated, which is comfortable. I ordered a "afternoon tea menu" of laksa with deep fried pork chop, which is $9.95! If you have been to many other Hongkongese style cafes, you should know that those "afternoon tea menus" are commonly priced as $6-7, or $8 maximum. For a $9.95 afternoon tea dish (not dinner) in Coquitlam (not Vancouver DT), I expected the dish shouldn't be bad at all. However, very ridiculously, the soup base tasted salty but nothing more, and it smelled a tiny bit of rotten coconut. The bowl only contained plain thin rice noodles (vermicelli) and some bean sprouts and green onions, but usually there are dried bean curds in laksa, some have boiled egg in half too. The pork chop didn't over cooked, yet it's very lean and non-juicy (not the usual bone-in type). The iced tea with milk ($1 extra for the iced beverage) tasted no tea at all but like water with milk. A male server (dressed like a manager, with glasses) came to collect the empty bowl with a strong scent of cigarette smoke! Was that my problem or what? But I will never go there again! read more

Decent Asian food not big on their drinks or western dishes..but do recommend some Asian dishes there. Food price and a few parking space, walking distance, and bus stops around. This place is terrible and the price is rather expensive, for students. Service is bad, the Cantonese lady kept insulting clients in Cantonese (she thought I couldn't understand). Highly Not recommend this place. Food is overpriced and their service is even worse than 0. They should change their restaurant to "order to go" only. The waitresses/servers seem all having a very bad day, no smile and rude, not professional. They would get hired if they worked in an American / western restaurant. Do they know the customers need to pay them tips? When we asked them a question, the short hair waitress (with make up) just responded with a sound only. What the hell? She does not know how to speak? Or even say yes? I'm speechless. When the second waitress (the one with pony tail)delivered the dish, she just put on the edge of the table. What the fuck? Only giving 2 stars because the service was terrible. We were told to wait a couple times when asked the server for things then he never came back and when we tried to ask another server for our things to go once again we were told to wait. We waited for about 10 mins and watched the server talk to another table and serve other tables and kept walking past us. When it came time to pay my dad accidentally punched in $1 for tip instead of $10 and the person at the till said that's your tip? That's not enough. This cafe is a hit or miss in both food and service. Last time we ordered some sort of fried spicy pork, a cream chicken linguine, and a Portugese style baked cheese chicken on rice. Oddly, the cheese dish did not taste very cheesy and did not have much flavour so that was a bit disappointing. The cream linguine and the fried spicy pork dish was good. The service was okay. One weird part of my experience was that the cashier specifically asked me if a 10% tip was okay when I went up to pay. It felt like he was scared that I wouldn't tip. I went there to meet up with a friend. Despite the rating all four dishes and drinks that we ordered came out decent fast and were good. The staffs were okay typical chinese workers and the atmosphere was of a typical HK cafe. I would definately come back if I have a chance. I'm here quite often for breakfasts on the weekends and the occasional lunch. Never had an issue with the food. The breakfasts are quite well done. I always order the "A and B" breakfast combo so you can get noodle soup with your greasy breakfast fare. It's a lovely combo! HK style drinks are how they should be too. The service is ok for me. Copa Cafe brings out a special every month. We were there yesterday and ordered 2 dishes and later saw their March special "rack of lamb" ($28 for one order and the second one for an extra $5). The waiter said you have to be a VIP member to order it. So we filled out a form and paid an extra $10 to become a new member in order to enjoy the March special next time we visit. It all made sense. Today, we went in and ordered the special but the manager, Raymond said we will have to be a NEW VIP member on the day we order in order to have it. This means that if you are an old member since the day before, you are not entitled to this special. If you want the special, Raymond said you will have to fill out another form, with the same information as yesterday and pay another $10 to be a "NEW" member so that you can order the special the day you become a "new" member. Does it make sense? Absolutely NOT!!! Not only does it not make sense, it is contrary to what the waiter said yesterday! Dah ! On top of that, Raymond said the $10 you put into being a "new" member today, you cannot use it until the next time, contrary to what the waiter said yesterday! On top of that, the $10 you give to become a new member yesterday cannot be used to pay for this special today contrary to what the waiter said yesterday. How do they do business? Where is management? This cafe has a history of rude and bad service per Yelp review. This kind of ridiculous promotion alienates clients and future patrons. I will be surprised if they can survive for much longer now that so much competition has sprung up around them. What about the food? Great option for HK style cafe food this side of town. If we're in Vancouver, we'll go to the Cambie location too. Authentic and delicious HK style cafe dishes like chicken chow mien and baked pasta dishes. Excellent HK style coffee and milk tea too. It is just a standard hk style restaurant. However it is the best one in town compare to the others. Only thing I don't like is they charge u $0.50 for each take out box. Bring your containers for the left over next time. read more

We had a serious concern regards to Food deterioration of Copa's chicken. We ordered one meal with a fried chicken, we took a bite and it taste weird. We told the server the chicken is not acceptable, they took away the plate. It took them 5mins to get their manager involved, he offer us to recook a pork steak. However we doesn't want to eat anymore because the chicken taste disgusting, we don't want to pay for the chicken meal, but we definitely will pay for other dishes. However, the manager he said "since you guys told me at the end of your meal, you already ate your dishes and finish other parts besides the chicken, so I will give you $1 off for the chicken" this is unacceptable. We don't care about a dollar or two, it is the serious problem of food positioning! We are not the customer who try to take advantage from restaurant, it just happen to be we eat the chicken at the last moment. It is super disappointed and unacceptable. We have been treated horrible and didn't receive any apologies regards to their food quality issue. Me and my family will never ever come back and eat here, although I have been as their customer for a long while. HORRIBLE! read more

I come to Copa on a regular basis. These are not many HK style restaurants in the Tricities area. I prefer Copa more than the others because this place is comfy and clean. The waiters or waitresses are nice. The prices are reasonable and the portions of the food are quite large too. I would recommend my friends to try this restaurant if they like HK style food. read more
