I disputed a bill on services that wasn't properly rendered. people need to know that theor employees are dishonest. This is why I feel the importance to stand my ground. I was bedridden after an accident in a hospital bed by a window that had full view of my pool and equipment the servicing employee failed to complete his task on the pool and solar equipment operation on Thursday because of my accident I wasn't able to access the equipment and my husband had a heart attack during the time of installation of the unit. Friday I asked for them to complete the task. employee on Thursday said he did complete the task. Well then why isn't it running ?so then it got turned on before the end of the day Friday and was charged for an extra visit when I pay monthly for a weekly service to be completed. so over a year later they went to collections with figures & fees they didn't explain , which was much higher than a visit and today my email, I received a $15 late fee on top of that. I've always paid my bills. I'm in my 70s. just don't want injustice for me or future customers read more

I hired this company as my pool was green. They were able to clear it up in May but by July it was turning green again. I addressed the situation and Jeff, the owner, came and put some powder shock in it. I asked him if it was safe to swim since it was cloudy and green and his comment was, "It's cleaner then most of the lakes and rivers around here." By the middle of August I complained again because they were leaving me liquid chlorine to put in the pool and only putting one tablet in my return. Never did get it cleared up. After addressing the situation Jeff told me my conditioner was too high and I needed to drain my pool and it was going to cost me $350 in chemicals to get it right again. I decided to take a water sample to Leslie's Pool supply and they said my conditioner was fine. They said my phosphate was high and most pool companies don't test this. Bought what they recommended and now my pool looks amazing. Cool Pools is suppose to also clean the filters and I was told I needed to replace them, I just did that last fall. I did take the filters out and cleaned them even though they had in July. My filters were so heavy I had a hard time getting them out. Found a piece that didn't get put in from the last time they cleaned them under the canister. There's no way they cleaned these properly. Still had the blue they used in May to clear the green. read more

For many weeks we had a scheduled pool recoating on the calendar through Advanced Pool Coatings. Cool Pools was booked to put in a new pool light, too. They were referred to us through Advanced Pool Coatings. Now, two weeks later, after the pool is already recoated, the new pool light is STILL on the concrete outside the pool waiting for the owner to put in the light after his son, Tom, couldn't fit it in the pool light hole! But... they went to Mexico for a vacation instead of getting this job done professionally. Meanwhile, water in our pool is leaking out through the light conduit and causing who knows what kind of damage! Our water bill will be crazy! And Advanced Pool Coating who removed the light to do the recoating...? Crickets. Cool Pools who was hired to do the job well in advance...? Crickets. Nothing. NOT cool! I do hear the sound of a phone ringing to a law office very soon.....a matter of days actually. Really negligent service. read more

I feel like this company robs its customers. I have a camera in my backyard and caught that the pool guy wasn't doing anything I was paying for. He dumped the filter and threw some liquid in the pool. Didn't scrub the walls like he is supposed to. Which is shocking since they charged me extra money to buy my house a scrub brush... that I already had!!... and wouldn't refund me. I can say in years prior their service was good, no communication but my pool was clean. This past year has been horrible service. My pool is filthy! Just fired them. First, they had a new tech show up without alerting of the change. Then observing him, he finished in less that two minutes just dumping some liquid and didn't even check the pump filter basket. When I approached him when he was leaving, he was not aware of the filter and only looked in the pool basket. After showing him, I began to walk away and shook my head not being happy to have to show my own tech where the filter is. He then said "don't shake your head at me". I quickly turned and said excuse me, get out of my house now. He was completely uneducated with pool servicing and unprofessional. Extremely poor service from start to finish. They say they send you invoices but you never get updates on what they've done to your pool while on site. They took my pool sweep for over 3 weeks for a "tire" repair. When you check local pool supply warehouse every one had informed us that's a readily stock part that should have been done same day. Not only that but they still tried to charge full amount even when your pool wasn't usable due to not having a sweep. When you call in with concerns they say it'll be addressed but every week it was the same thing. Would highly recommend any company other than this one in the sacramento area read more

Jack and Jennifer are awesome to deal with. Requested quote on line, gave the basic information, Jennifer got back to me asked me one question and a phone number for Jack to contact me. Left the number, Jack called me right back and we set appointment for 730-800 AM this morning and right on time Jack was there. I was in panic mode just knowing that i had a major issue involving the pool pump, only to have Jack listen to the pump for 5 seconds, walk over to the skimmer and hit the flapper door, that was stuck, which made me feel 2" tall. Jack could not have be nicer and looked over our system and said it was a great pump and filter system for the pool. He explained how every once and a while the flapper doors stick due to shifting of concrete in the pools. If you want HONEST-PROMPT service then look no farther than Cool Pools. read more

When we moved here this summer we were new to pool ownership. Cool pools was the service our seller used so we just kept it up. I had no idea what "good" service was which was why I stuck with it for so long. In 7 months time I had not received 1 bill which resulted in a $400+ bill. The only reason I actually did get that bill was because I asked about it. I didn't even see specific charges on the bills. If any extra work was done I didn't know and didn't see specific charges. When I finally brought this to their attention Jennifer did offer to let me split the bill in two. Our pool was turning green. The walls were covered in algae as was the bottom of the pool. The sweep wasn't working properly and even though I tried to tell him, he just brushed it off and said its because the water is cold. Turns out the screen has been clogged and nothing is wired correctly. Despite several talks / emails about getting the flow switch fixed it never was. The plumbing to the pump is so Mickey Mouse it has pipes propped up on PVC pipes. Nothing was ever pointed out and no suggestions were made on how to get it fixed. One visit from our new company and our pool is sparking, the system is running correctly and we have a date on the calendar to get the flow switch fixed. read more

This is obviously just a disgruntled person, I doubt Cool Pools planted Black Algea in this guys pool and the thought of there being an ounce of unfriendly service is rediculous. After having Jack straighten up my pool I invested in an ePool to connect to my computer hoping to save some money with the $200 investment into this thing. Jack and I talked about it and came up with me trying to take care of the pool on my own if he would call me up in 3-6 months to check up on me. As suggested, Cool Pools contacted me 3 months or so later and Jack came over with the same friendly attitude and my dog was even happy to see him again! Cool Pools recently installed a new pool vac. Pretty cool one. The first model had some issues getting around. (I have a free form pool) Jack put a new one in and pool hasn't looked better. He also fixed a problem with an air leak I've had for a while. Again, big difference with the fix he did. This isn't my first time with Cool I.e. variable speed mtr and filter). I contacted Cool Pools on Monday morning, today, about an inoperative Polaris sweep in my pool. Carol at their office answered promptly and told me she would give the information to Jack. We are familiar with Jack who has done a great job helping us in the past with a failed booster pump. Jack called me within a few minutes and told me at my request he would be out by Thursday at the latest. Well, I received a call from him a 2 PM the same day saying he was on the way. Then I received a call soon after that he was there. He quickly identified the problem, a hidden (to me) small clogged filter on the sweep line. All of his visit took about 5 minutes! Great service! We have used Cool pools to service our pool for about 2 years. When they first opened our filter to wash the cartridges, the technician was not able to close the filter . Jack (the owner) came to look at the issue and got very upset with us saying that the screw had lost it's threading and that he was not able to close it. He had sent us some rude text messages regarding this issue and did not take any responsibility for what had happened.  Since, it had been more than 10 years since we had bought the filter, we went ahead and paid for the new filter system and installed it ourselves. We continued to use cool pool for the pool cleaning service. Last month, the day the technician came to service our pool, the filter timer stopped working.  I talked to Jack. He said that there is nothing the technician could have done to mess up the filter timer. Since, nobody else touches our pool equipment other than the cool pool technicians and since the filter timer had been working till the morning the technician came to service our pool, I asked Jack to replace the timer. Jack , not only refused to take responsibility of his technician's action, he also said that Cool pools will not be servicing our pool anymore. Even though we had paid for the entire month, they stopped servicing our pool mid-month. I have reached out to them more than once asking for a refund of half month fee that they did not provide service for and I have not heard back from them. read more

Yelped a request for a plumbing leak repair to Cool Pools after no response from another company. They emailed promptly and Jack called to confirm a free diagnosis appointment. We agreed on fix, price range and appointment date. Jack showed up on time and spent over two hours working the problem. Unfortunately, there was still a minor problem in the filter connection that caused a very small drip at full pool pump power and for that reason Cool Pools did not charge anything for labor or parts used in the fix.
