When my A/C failed at 2AM on a Sunday, they were the only company able to come out immediately (I called at least 5 others). The technician arrived promptly, diagnosed the problem efficiently (faulty fan motor on my Carrier unit), and completed the repair within a couple hours, including a trip to source the part from their vendor. The Concerning The final cost was $2,303.60 for what I've since learned should typically cost $700-$1,000 (that is including emergency service fees). While I understand emergency calls command premium pricing, this felt excessive. Additionally, the quoted price increased from $2,000 to $2,303.60 when it was time to pay without clear explanation of the additional charges. My Takeaway Apex delivers on availability and technical competence when you're in a crisis. However, I'd strongly recommend getting multiple quotes if time permits, as their emergency pricing appears significantly above market rate. The convenience of immediate service came at a steep premium that I wasn't prepared for. Would I use them again? Only in a true emergency where no other options exist, and I'd request detailed pricing breakdowns upfront. For future customers: Get clear, written estimates before work begins, and ask about all potential additional fees.

What made the experience particularly notable is that we had been service members with Radiant for the past four years. When we called them, the earliest prioritized appointment they could offer us was two weeks away, despite having no working AC in 100 degree weather. That experience prompted us to call Service Wizard instead, and I am very glad we did. Jeremiah was friendly, professional, knowledgeable, and thorough. He took the time to explain what he was checking and what he found, without trying to sell us repairs or services we did not need. He also discovered that during a previous service visit, Radiant had installed the condensation shutoff on the secondary drain line rather than the primary line, where it should have been installed. I really appreciated Jeremiah catching and explaining that issue. Between the emergency availability, Jeremiah's knowledge and professionalism, and the overall experience, I was impressed enough to sign up for Service Wizard's membership before he left. After four years with another company's service plan, that says quite a bit. I feel much more confident knowing we have Service Wizard to call going forward. Highly recommend Jeremiah and Service Wizard!

Unfortunately, we have had a lot of difficulties with our Samsung washer and dryer and have had to have both repaired, several times, over the past 4-5 years. A few months ago, Greentek repaired our dryer, and most recently, they came out to assess a persistent annoying problem we've had with our washer. Greentek advised us the cost to repair the washer was higher than what we wanted to pay. (The amount of the repair and the amount we put into repairing it in the past was going to exceed the cost of a new washer.) So, we declined to have Greentek repair the washer and decided to buy a new washer. (Not a Samsung!) Both experiences were positive and we have no complaints with Greentek. They are prompt, professional, offer reasonable prices and do everything as agreed. Call them.

It happened at 4:30 on a Friday in July and with all the 100+ temps that week, the three other companies I called in a panic were too busy to come out. A local friend of mine said she'd had two years of good service from Airco, so I tried them next and they got us some help in just a few hours. Ernie the technician was AMAZING, friendly and professional and a relief to work with. Later on during the water damage mitigation process with TX Dry Out & Restoration, we ended up needing to replace the old out-of-code HVAC, and had a great experience with Airco. Brandon was extremely helpful and happy to coordinate with TX Dry Out to get our new unit installed on schedule amid all the restoration work. I wanted to share my experience with A-US Air Cond of Texas so others know what to expect…read more My AC went out on Thursday, and American Home Shield assigned A-US Air Cond of Texas to my service request. I was told I would hear from the contractor within 24 hours. Late Friday evening, I received a text from the technician asking if a Saturday appointment window of 10:00 AM-1:00 PM would work, and I confirmed immediately. Saturday came and went with no arrival, no call, and no update. By 2:00 PM, I had attempted to contact the technician several times before finally receiving a response that he was still on another job. He ultimately arrived around 3:00 PM and completed the visit. I understand that delays happen, especially in the HVAC industry during busy seasons. My frustration wasn't that the technician was running behind--it was the lack of communication throughout the day. A quick text letting customers know you're running late can go a long way and helps people plan their day accordingly. The service itself ended up being fine, but the communication and customer experience could definitely use improvement. Hopefully this feedback helps future customers and encourages better communication when schedules change.

A-US showed up the next day, replaced a capacitor, and rolled out before testing anything. I called AHS because the unit still was not cooling after replacement. they sent them back out, the guy that showed up second seemed really helpful. he tried to add freon and the pressures wouldnt change. he went to the attic and found a massive leak in the unit. he told AHS I needed a new indoor and outdoor unit. a WEEK later, they were out to replace the unit. it didnt go well. the tech spent about 3 hours trying to get this fancy unit to connect to the fancy thermostat. glad they upsold me on junk. after that, he gave up, left a note that the thermostat needed replaced. fast forward to the next morning, new tech shows up, troubleshoots it to a bad thermostat, LEAVES TO GO GET A THERMOSTAT!!! 3 hours later, shows up, replaces it, it connects, AC starts working finally. the note said it was a bad thermostat and he wasted 5 hours because he didnt bring one with him. Also, my thermostat is still just hanging by the wires today, a week and a half later, because they didnt have a backplate. Now, less than a week later, it can't connect to the unit again, and my upstairs is over 90 degrees inside. called on Wednesday, they hoped to be out Thursday, but made an appointment Friday just in case. These guys have the nerve to send a text Thursday late (5:15pm) when they close at 5, telling me they have to cancel my appointment and move me to Monday. They absolutely suck. First would be dont get AHS, but if you do, try to have them use someone else for AC before A-US. this has been an awful awful awful experience. A-US doesnt deserve the 1.8 stars it has on yelp.

In August, 2026, with the temperatures in the 100s, my Carrier had a coolant leak that made the unit unusable. AAA sent out Sonny to evaluate the problem. Sonny deserves every cent they pay him for both expertise and customer service. On that Thursday we were told that it would be the following Tuesday before they could get a coil and crew together. While we were debating what to do, Sonny told us that the office people had found a crew and coil and that they could do the work the next day, Friday. Jason, the company owner, had apparently become involved and had also come up with a temporary fix for the AC that would allow us to stay overnight at our house with the AC working. The repair crew headed by Eliezer arrived right on time on Friday, and they were done by noon. Again, I was greatly impressed by the AAA team. Sometimes things work out. Sometimes the right vendor makes the extra effort to insure that things work out. I am sure that there are many good AC vendors around. However, for my money, Alamo Austin is at the top of the list. tb
