They offer no way to cancel this service on their app or online. You can only pause. I paused it and three months later, they charged me AGAIN with absolutely no notice that the pause was ending. Then, they refused to issue a refund, even though the meals could still be changed, so obviously they hadn't been prepared or shipped yet. This company is a scam. If they were legit, they would allow you to cancel on the app instead of just pause and they would properly notify you if your pause was ending and you were going to be charged. read more

Whats more, I love that my partner and I can find meals that are relatively healthy and satisfy our different dietary preferences. Cook Unity is really what you make of it. Thank you for responding to my review. However I disagree with you when you say that sodium is listed on the meals. There's no sodium content listed anywhere on each individual meal. Plus it was almost impossible for me to find the sodium content on your website. It took me forever to find it for my meal but then I was unable to look and find it for other meals. When I click on a meal there is no milligram sodium listed anywhere. A few of the meals might say mid-sodium. The transparency isn't there as you suggest. read more

We only have access to a microwave. After placing our first order, they botched it. We received someone else's order. I tried to reach out to their customer service on a Sunday. Essentially we were told that since everything was already delivered we could not get what we purchased. Not good. The wrong order we received was less. We ordered 12 meals and got only 8. Since we had dietary restrictions, we couldn't eat the meals we received. Too spicy. They attempted to refund our order and assured us we would get our original order next week. It's next week, I received a notification that they 'selected' meals for me. Stuff we would never eat. Since they botched our order for a second time we cancelled our subscription. They can't communicate with eat other and can't get our order correctly. The customer service rep accused me of not providing proof of my order. A+ Experience for Me! I've had nothing but a wonderful experience with Cook Unity. I was finding myself eating out too much, spending too much (it's at least $20 nowadays for a meal out), and being too hungry as a busy guy who's working three jobs right now and trying to keep up on my bike racing. I did the math and getting six meals per week with the Cook Unity Pass provides me solid, healthy meals, and is overall less expensive than what I was experiencing grabbing meals on the go. They have a referral program that has helped bring several of my weekly meal plans down significantly, too. Recently, I had my meals swiped off my porch (damn porch pirates!) and Cook Unity did an amazing job with their customer service in getting me set back up. The customer service guy, Kevin, really took care of me and definitely provided an experience that makes me want to keep supporting them. While the meals sometimes get repetitive (they have lots of options, but I stick with home run meals I know are delicious - so the repetitiveness is on me), they are pretty consistently delicious. I've been using them for several months now and have only had two meals where I was like, "meh... I guess I'll finish this but it's not my favorite." While the rest have been truly delicious. The food was good at first. I liked the idea of supporting local chefs and assumed the company would run itself in accordance with with the philosophy they preach. However very quickly and simultaneously, they raised their prices by eighteen percent, while also decreasing portion size for each of their meals. Inflation exists and no one can argue about that. But the policy really I took issue with was how they have structured their system to purposefully and frequently charge orders the clients didn't want or didn't order. When I was charged for an order that I had canceled well within the cancellation window, the system ignored that and went ahead and charged me. I reached out to customer service detailing how, when I asked the help bot to direct me to where I can skip meals-As the website is not very literate- the bot asked me which weeks I would like to cancel, confirmed the exact dates and then confirmed with me that the dates the system dictated were correct, and then confirmed their cancellation. Imagine my surprise, when not only a day later, I received an email stating that the company had charged me. I reached out to let them know.I had actually canceled these deliveries within the cancellation window. This was something the company disputed. So I said please simply pull up the transcripts of my conversation from the given date and you will see exactly how what I described played out. It took about four times for me requesting that information for an employee to tell me that they cannot release that information due to privacy laws. Since my privacy was the only at stake, I granted them permission to release the transcripts to me, however they flat out refused. If I were in the wrong, would they not be eager to point that out to me? However, when they reviewed the transcripts and likely saw that everything I said was true, suddenly confirming my story wasn't a serious matter of security. They spent days trying to gaslight me, the response entirely lacking empathy or accountability has led me to cancel. You can get twice the amount of food that is just as simple to heat up from any deli section of your supermarket. If it's about having a difficult time getting to the supermarket, it will still be cheaper to have your groceries delivered. Don't go broke and hungry with CookUnity read more
