I don't get all the hate of this location. It's a Cook Out, not The Ritz! If you're looking for a quick and cheap lunch with pretty damn good milkshakes, you've come to the right place. This restaurant fits in well with the Albemarle strip of fast dining options on Hwy 24/27. Pulled into the drive thru and with 7 cars in front of me, I was in and out in 10 minutes. The man at the window was quick and friendly, and the order was accurate upon leaving. Burger was juicy, toppings were all fresh, especially the tomato. I do wish they would use parchment instead of aluminum foil to wrap the burgers but no biggie. I tried the banana pudding milkshake and loved it. Real 'Nilla Wafers blended into fresh bananas and a vanilla milkshake base. At 500+ calories, such a dangerous and delicious discovery! All this for under $8! The restaurant boasts a 99.5 Sanitation Score as well. I looked up the violation they had, and they lost a 1/2 point because an ice scoop was INSIDE the ice machine instead of in its designated spot (oh the humanity). Other than that they've aced 7 out of 10 inspections since they opened with 100s. Pretty dang impressive. I'd say this is a uncommonly superb value-oriented burger joint! read more

Very disappointed with my meal. Received hush puppies and fries for one tray when it was supposed to be cajun fries and cheese bites. Amazing food. Been here countless times and every time been amazing.. I can only recall one issue back in 2019 where there was multiple items missing and overall bad order. It was a bad day and they were so apologetic so we went back up there and they remade our order fresh. 10/10 nuce staff. 10/10 food. Overall perfect fast food place. read more

Fast drive-thru plus a clean, relatively peaceful dining room makes this Cookout a strong contender in Albemarle fast food. Dining room is open to midnight Sunday to Thursday and 1 am Friday and Saturday. The $4.59 tray deal is great value for the money, but there are extra charges for cheese on a burger, chili, etc. Definitely a regular food destination for my family! read more

If I could give it minus five stars I would. The bathroom was disgusting and I'd be afraid to post the pics, dining room tables n floor dirty, no condiments and the food was just tolerable. Husband had quesadilla special and I guess the special is there was no meat. Literally we opened it and there was nothing but fake melted cheese. My fries were cold, and the spicy fried chicken sandwich was really a frozen cardboard fried spicy something, and was tuff and no flavor. No excuse for this or the bathroom disaster. Only 5 customers at about 4:45 pm and plenty of young and energetic staff in kitchen. We won't go back, if there is s manager in house on duty, he/she is needing to be retrained in how to delegate jobs. I took one look into cookout and there was already a worker not wearing a mask, handing out food, and talking over it. I am not happy with this location because they constantly forget my toppings. I always order a big double burger with lettuce, tomato, pickles, cajun seasoning, bacon and cheese. And I literally NEVER get that. It almost always has onions on it, there was no bacon this last time even though I WAS CHARGED FOR BACON and they always throw onions, ketchup, and mustard on even though I didnt ask for it. My husband and I stopped at this restaurant today for lunch Have never been to this cookout. The burger orders were completely wrong. My husband took one bite out of his burger..realizing they left off half of the toppings. Very slow service, and the get upset when you ask for a real receipt. Then they can't even make the food right and have no plan on fixing the order. To me it is Ridiculous that it seam to be so hard to make a sandwich that you are trained to make... what is even more funny that it takes 6 people to figure out how to run a register and the the manger come and get it figured out in 2.5 seconds. Great food at a great price I mean seriously you can get a big double burger with everything on it (mayo,ketchup,mustard,pickels,onions,lettuce) with 2 other sides like a wrap or corn dog or fries and huge tea for only $5.33 after taxes! or even the strip tray with three big chicken strips and two sides and you can replace the drink with a shake! for only a dollar extra! read more
