We are so grateful to Stephens Brothers Construction for helping us build our backyard pool house…read more The quality of their work speaks for itself, and seeing their projects on Instagram gave us confidence from the start. In person, we were even more impressed by their care, precision, and attention to detail. They helped us get our foundation poured and ready to go quickly. They showed up on time, worked hard, kept the site remarkably clean, and helped us navigate Riverside County permits and inspections. Even though we didn't hire them for every stage of the build, they continued to answer our questions and stop by to check on our progress. That meant a lot to us. We could not have done our project without their help. They were kind enough to refer their subcontractors to is- so we could do our project as an owner builder. We wish we would have hired them to build the entire project. It would have been done so much sooner! Jeff and Joe are wonderful to work with. They both are extremely knowledgeable with all aspects of Construction on any project. They all know their stuff! Especially building things to code and navigating permits.. Zach is an incredibly hard worker, a true jack of all trades. He can do any job, and Mike is a legend--we were amazed by his energy and how much he gets done. The whole team is personable, honest, and clearly passionate about their work. They began our project without a deposit, and we paid only after their work was complete and we were satisfied. It can be hard to find contractors you trust, but we would gladly welcome this team back for any work on our home or yard. We felt lucky to have them involved in our project and highly recommend them. You won't have to micromanage this crew Or worry about anything. They will do the job well, keep things moving forward, pass inspections, and complete the job on time. No surprise costs or change orders. We are looking forward to having them remodel our kitchen in the future. We have worked with many contractors over the years and these guys are by far the BEST. They stand behind any work that they do and they always make everything better than they found it. Literally no mistakes with their work. Extremely satisfied customers! You will not regret hiring them! We only regret not meeting them sooner and using them to build our past projects. They would have saved us time and money! The lumber order was perfect too! No extra materials.

We recently hired Stephens Bros Construction to turn our dining room and powder room into a…read morecomplete mother-in-law suite (bedroom and full bathroom with a shower), and I cannot say enough good things about them! Here is why they easily earn 5 stars: -Super Fast: From start to finish, the entire project only took about three weeks. The speed and efficiency were amazing given the scale of the job. -Wonderful Crew: The Stephens Bros team and all of their subcontractors were absolute pleasures to have around. They are honest, upfront, hardworking, and genuine people. - Respectful of Family Life: We have small kids, and the crew went out of their way to always warn us before they started using loud tools. -Great Problem Solvers: Like any major remodel, there were a few unexpected challenges along the way, but they tackled everything with confidence. If I had one tiny piece of constructive feedback, it's that I wish the documentation breaking down the individual costs of things had been a bit more detailed. However, they are a five star company!

Dave and his entire team were very easy to work with, which was a relief, as renovations are stressful, especially with young children. I've lived in my 55 year old house in San Diego for 5 years, and didn't like the looks of previous repairs and touch-ups both outside and inside. I was so happy to find his website, and learn that he has decades of experience, much of it back East where they have.....houses with interior brick walls! Nic was perfect, even though he isn't in the immediate area. He looked at my pictures online, talked to me at length, and we set a date. He worked for 12 hours, did a meticulous job, and cleaned up thoroughly. His price was very fair. I couldn't be happier. I recommend him highly.

We did not luck out. We hired Ricky, the owner, for a custom bathroom vanity and storage tower,…read moreexpecting quality craftsmanship from a local small business. Instead, we got rough, poorly finished cabinet doors and six months of being ignored. The most visible areas -- the front-facing doors -- were left with raw wood grain and saw marks. A basic sanding and wood filler (used elsewhere on the same project) would have prevented it. When we sent photos, Ricky agreed it wasn't up to his standards and promised to replace the doors after "a busy patch." That was half a year ago. Since then: no responses to calls, texts, or emails. We chose him over a Restoration Hardware or Rejuvenation vanity because we wanted to support a local craftsman who would stand behind their work. That trust was misplaced. Learn from our mistake -- be wary of Dad the Builder. Project budget: $5600 Pros: energetic, young, well intentioned Cons: poor attention to detail, follow through, communication

We sought quotes from several stair companies highly rated on Yelp. One was pretty booked up and wasn't interested in coming out to our house. Two came to our home and gave us estimates. The price quotes for K Pinson Stairs and the other company were not too far apart, so we made a selection based on gut feel. My wife and I are glad we picked K Pinson. Kelley listened to our design ideas and he came up with a great final plan that we agreed to. He told us it would take two weeks to demo the old stairs and complete the new ones. He and Christian actually beat that by a couple of days (for which we were very grateful). Understand that K Pinson Stairs is a completely handmade, custom product -- not from a factory. Kelley and Christian personally crafted EVERYTHING but the metal tubes and fasteners -- the brackets are even custom made. There are lots of gorgeous details in the woodwork that are the mark of a true craftsman. If you're thinking about getting new stairs, I give Kelley and K Pinson Stairs my highest recommendation. A remarkable, handcrafted product at a fair price.
