Wanted to move out of our house and get into Meadowview or Fallbrook- something with property... but with the market where it is, interest rates... and someone telling me "invest in your home- you won't be disappointed, and you'll appreciate your home..." Without a doubt the BEST experience during our Kitchen Remodel. The level of professionalism, communication, and project completion is better than any contractor experience I have ever been involved with. I say it from watching them on IG- QUALITY, QUALITY, QUALITY!!!!! I have been following these guys on Instagram for years, there work is amazing. I share their stories when I see people interested in remodels, and for the first time in my own life- we had the opportunity to pursue a remodel of our own. I highly recommend Stephens Brothers! Don't let those tattooed faces fool you these guys know what they are doing. We chose them based on the fact that during our estimate they knew the answers to all of our questions and concerns with building our ADU. There estimate also was one of the better ones as far as price and was more detailed then the others. The hardest part of the whole process was waiting on the city for approval and permitting which is out of there hands and they had communicated that with us and this would be the case. There communication was acceptable to me during the almost 1 year it took for the city process, you have to remember it's out of there hands and these guys are super busy with projects that are already under way and in the building process. Once the permits were approved and building could start these guys are all over it, I was a little worried about them having only a 4 man crew but these guys are so efficient with there planning and building and there communication during the build was excellent the time frame for our build was about 3 months to completion and we had issues on materials due to these crazy times and they were still able to complete it in the timeframe we had talked about. The thing I like most about Stephens Brothers Construction is there finishes, there trim work and attention to the details are the best I have seen. I want to add that the biggest worry most people have including myself with contractors is money, believe it or not this was not the case with them. They stuck to there payment schedule and never asked for advance on payment and to be honest most the time I had to chase them around my yard and make them take my check. You can tell they pay there bills and subs because we never had any material issues from the suppliers and all there subs had nothing but great things to say about them, you can tell they have family like relationships with them. I should have wrote this review a lot sooner but I'm lazy. It has been a few months since our project with them has been completed and this morning I woke up to a water leak at the shut off valve for our ADU so I called them just for advice on what to do and within an hour Jeff was pulling up and digging up the front yard to help us out and see what happened. Let me say they are in the middle of building a retaining wall on another project so he left that to come help our family. This is a different level of caring for a customer let alone a past client. The issue ended up being a defective schedule 80 valve that split open from the water pressure so it's just a freak thing that happened. For them to come back and even just care is awesome and sparked my lazy ass to write a review and let others know how good they are at not only building during our project but also having my family's back when we are no longer clients! My wife and I can't thank Joe and Jeff enough for all they have done for us and our new home. Upon remodeling the house they discovered multiple problems that were significant from the original builder, which halted the remodel immediately. Being the honest, professional guys they are they let us know about these problems which in all honesty, most other contractors would have covered up and finished the job so they could get paid and let us worry about it later. It didn't matter to them that it was going to mess with their work schedule and they wouldn't have our project to work on as planned, they knew that it had to be fixed before we could continue with the original plan / remodel. This is where they really went above and beyond. Joe and Jeff came out to our house. We told them we needed to get the job done right away. We were needing this job done so we could sell the home, and we really needed to get it listed right away. They were very nice and seemed on top of it. I called and texted them 3 times within the next week with no response. The last text I sent they responded and said they would have the quote to us by the weekend. No quote arrived, so I called and texted multiple times again over the next week, saying we would have to choose someone else if we didn't hear from them, and that we liked them and really wanted to use them. Earlier this year, I called Cal Prop Sol for estimate on cabinet and bathroom remodeling based on the positive reviews. They came out as scheduled and spent about an hour taking measurements and notes. They seemed sharp and said they would have the estimate in about a week, which was fine. I called after a week to let them know I was anxiously awaiting their bid. After another week I called again. I called another two times and then gave up. I don't understand a business not calling back even if it is just to say they can't do it. I am giving two starts for starting the process on time. Very disappointing. read more

When I bought my first home two years ago, Stephens Brothers (and dad!) did my remodel which included total demo of kitchen and bath, all new kitchen and bath, demo and clean up of tile flooring throughout, and removal and installation of a new wall to reconfigure the kitchen layout. They finished within the promised time frame despite it being the holiday season and a necessary pause for a roof repair after they discovered a serious leak. Jeff coached me through many decisions to make sure I was happy and stayed within budget. My friends and I installed the new LVP, baseboards and subway tile backsplash ourselves for a little cost saving, fun, and experience, and the guys were super supportive, offered us advice along the way, and generally cheered us on. Their subcontractors were so good and produced high quality work. Jeff was incredibly communicative with expectations and when people would be coming and going through the house for work, so there was never a surprise. Having heard horror stories about contractors and home remodeling, I couldn't help feeling like these guys took such good care of me. Unfortunately, Trimworx is probably hit or miss. It took a few days to get through via a call to their voicemail and then an email via their business contact email. Samantha called me back a few days later and scheduled Joe (her brother in law) to come out to my home. Joe came out to bid on crown moulding, a built in wall unit and window casing. He was very young, polite and efficient. I received the written Estimate a couple days later via email and emailed back that I would like to go ahead and proceed with the work. Oddly enough, I did not get a response or a call to schedule. I sent another email to Samantha, and also phoned the office (there is only one phone number on the business cards, which appears to be a landline.) The calls go to voicemail every time. So here we are 2 weeks later and still no return call or email. How very odd to bid for work and then not have the professionalism to call back when the client wishes to schedule.. can't quite figure this one out? Anyhow - my guess is they are a very young company and have not quite figured out the "customer service" piece. I don't doubt their trim work would be of good quality if you are fortunate enough to have them follow through with you. read more

I have to be honest, when I contacted Joe and his team, I was a little apprehensive. Joe and his brother are young and heavily tattooed. I had received two bids and both were in the ballpark of each other. I really debated using Joe but then I decided to take a chance because he just makes you feel like he knows what he's doing and what he's talking about. Boy am I glad I did too. Joe and SFC construction did an amazing job on my new 650 sq. ft. Casita/Pool House. Even dealing with the NIGHTMARE that is the City of Murrieta. What a complete joke these people are. All they do is drag out the project and get in the way. What a shame! Joe was quick to provide a drawing design along with a detailed estimate. After a long and exhausting planning approval process, we were way behind schedule. Joe showed up the very next day and jumped on the job with an all out effort to complete the project on-time. He kept we well informed during the entire building process. He did not just assume that I wanted something a certain way, he asked detailed questions with a real interest in making sure we got exactly what we were looking for. His attention to detail is 2nd to none. A true perfectionist and craftsman. Joe accomplished everything "As Promised". On time and On Budget. There was ZERO nickel and diming involved. In the end, we got exactly what we asked for and what was promised. I'd be happy to recommend Joe on any job no matter the size. He and his crew are the real deal. Lastly, I'd like to comment on how Polite and Professional Joe and his crew are. They never made my wife feel uncomfortable while interacting with her when she was home alone. I hired them to build a 12ft x 30ft "California Room" on the rear of my home in Murrieta starting December 26, 2016, from the day they started till the project was completed 8 weeks later, their quality of their construction and of their sub contractors was outstanding. During this 8 week period we were delayed 9 days due to rain, however they still worked on the project.
